And this no striking with cane, always pampering is the reason for lack of self control that americans have.. when it comes things like drugs & unhinged violence etc NOTE that d low level stealing u talk about in Nigeria is due to the economy-- many won't if they had a livelihood. Shokoloko: 1. See the photo of what a shepherd's rod looks like. Have you watched a shepherd guide his sheep. There are many sheep farms here. A shepherd never ever strikes his sheep.
2. Hearsay is not a good enough source. My time is spent between Canada and the US. If the rate of killing was 10 times the death toll in Nigeria, I would know. You cannot compare secondary school and university cultism in Nigeria to what is happening here. Over here, Youths stand up for pregnant women, elderly people, disabled people. How many Nigerian youths will willingly give up their seats on the bus for these people. I have never ever locked my car since I bought it - Can I try that in Nigeria with Nigerian youths? I'm jogging and running at 2am here. In Nigeria I would lock my house at 10pm. And it is only since November 2021 that I started making sure that I lock my home doors. Up till yesterday doordash, ubereats will drop your food at your door and nobody will take it. The only error the youths here have is those sins that Nigerian youths do in secret, they will do it in the open if they commit those type of sins. I have verified sources (see screenshots) that state that 10,000 people were killed in a span of 10 years - the paper points at the youths as being the culprits - the same paper says 90% of killings are not recorded. What do you think that means, it means that in 10 years, the death of 900,000 people from cult activities spearheaded by youths was not reported. Please do not compare youth related violence in Nigeria and the US
3. Never ever in the bible was disciplining equated to striking. When the bible wanted to describe striking a rock, the bible never wrote "Moses did not spare the rod on the rock". The phrase used in the bible was "strike the rock with the rod" Disciplining is not equal to striking. If you live here in North America, and your child hits anyone, the school will know that the child learnt it from you, the parent and you will go for anger management classes |

Are there even jobs in chemical engr? Best thing forget about all that and focus on an IT area. Lexiskillz09: Good evening guys. I'm sorry for the long story. But it's serious Please Please I need ur opinions on this issue bothering me. I am a Industrial chemistry graduate. I graduated last year and just completed my NYSC. I want to go for postgraduate studies but I am having difficulties in making a decision on what to do.
Someone advised me to switch to Chemical engineering, (this will require a 1 year postgraduate diploma course) though I wouldn't mind if there's a guarantee I stand a very good chance in the labour market after the PGD and MSC. On the other hand, 2 bros in my area I respect so much discouraged me about switching. Both of them were of the opinion that it would rather keep me confused instead of helping me. That recruiters will consider a candidate with B.Eng Chemical engineering without a masters over me, while chemistry field will consider a chemistry msc holder over me also. Bottom line, it's almost a waste of time especially here in Nigeria that I should just do msc in industrial chemistry.
I'm still young though. I Will be 22 on 27th of this month. |

Makes perfect sense.... this is what those that shouted down the OP should realise.. it is a different kind of hardship/discomfort... so rather than waving it off, try and find out what the pros and cons of the abroad and honestly consider if you are more adapted to that or to what we have here... For instance for one person, having to raise children in an openly gay society with no cane discipline, too much liberty might be worse off than not being able to eat 1 out of 3sqr meals if considered critically. For another, he might be just fine with it. mvem: You know that the expectation going abroad is great that when you go and see it is not that rosy, you can't project it to your people down home
Why?
Because the expectation is high and no one will ever agree that you are having it tough. So most times what you see people enjoying and all that is them trying to project something to you down home. It's very tough in western world. You have all the basics like water, light, welfare etc and you can make some money and send home
But what many can't understand is lifestyle is totally different. I can relate to him not being able to talk to anyone. They are very independent here and lack community life. That's why they don't play with mental health. The whole system fu*ks up some individual head. Also hardship is of another form that you can't relate until you see it. The normal hardship will relate to is being not able to eat well, having no basic amenities etc. But in the western world they do have it but in another form not what you can relate to
This is in no way to discourag your pursuit of the greener pastures but sometimes it is good to have a better context of all these so that you won't come and start writing epistle like the OP or me...it is a different world out here but still pursue your dreams and know that you can never replace home |

How ridiculous!! Just because you have been accustomed to primitive thinking, does that make it correct? Someone won something for himself, you are saying it belongs to someone else .. is it in deir agreement? Is that kind of thing Iawful? Is d apprentice a bought slave owned by d master? immortalcrown: Why can't apprentices do such things without louding it?
A similar situation happened in Onitsha and the boss wanted the whole money. The boss said he is entitled to the whole money because the apprentice used his (boss's money) to play the bet. Meanwhile, the apprentice used his lunch money for the bet as his boss gave him 300 Naira daily for lunch. I don't know how they settled it.
I am not in support of the boss's claim. But let us be factual and logical here. It is best to keep such as a secret. If you as an apprentice expose such, the boss can claim the money. He can even win in a law court because the apprentice is his responsibility and the apprentice is obligated to dedicate all his time to serving the boss during the apprentiship period, especially if the boss takes the boy to shop and gives him lunch from home.
If the boss gives the boy transport fare or money for lunch, the court can establish that the boy owns the bet money because the boy has the right to decide whether to starve himself and spend his lunch money on something else. If the boy does not get transport fare and lunch allowance, the court will establish that the capital used for the bet belongs to the boss, therefore the boss will get the money worn from the betting.
If the apprentice dies during the apprentiship period, the boss would be held responsible. This is why whatever the apprentice achieves under the boss is accredited to the boss.
So, if you are an apprentice and you play bet or anything for yourself, keep it as a secret. Your boss owns you when you are under him. So, use your brain. |

Know this and know peace. There is nothing like reincarnation. But demons can play with some new borns' bodies, minds and make it appear as though he reincarnated. From the bible: It is appointed for a man to die once and after that is judgement . HEB 9:27 gaby: A three-year-old boy in Syria's Golan Heights region has suddenly become the centre of attention after he revealed that he was murdered with an axe in his previous life.
The boy, of the Druze ethnic group, was born with a long, red birthmark on his head. According to Druze beliefs, birthmarks are related to past-life deaths. When the boy was old enough to talk, he told his family that he had been killed with an axe blow to his head.
As is the custom, the elders took the child to the home of his previous life to see if he remembers it. And sure enough, the boy knew the village he was from and once he arrived there, he remembered the name he had in his past life.
Locals told the elders that the man who the boy was claiming to be had gone missing four years earlier. When asked, the boy also remembered the full name of his killer. When the alleged killer was confronted, his face turned white, but he did not admit to murder.
The boy then took the elders to where the body was buried and in that very spot, they found a man's skeleton with a wound to the head that corresponded with the boy's birthmark. They also recovered the axe with which he had been killed.
Faced with the evidence, the killer then admitted to the crime.
The boy's full story has been documented in the book, "Children Who Have Lived Before: Reincarnation Today" by German therapist Trutz Hardo. |
