We are muslims and you are christians. I hope you feel so good about your faith as much as i do about mine. Then one day we shall all accounts for our actions and inactions. i wish you all the best |
But guys to say the truth here, We ve not met the big boys yet apart from man u. Bolton, Blackburn rovers and Porthsmouth can be trouble oh.
|
Hey guys, We can understand your frustration. Its quite obvious that we all dont like the violence. We all love peace. Please lets work towards it. The solution is global justice. can we sincerely justify the invasion and massacre of iraqis just to catch a "rat in a hole".? Can we justify the frequent swoop on innocent palestinians by IDF killing at will the hopeless kids? Can we say with all sincerity that the muslim world is fairly treated?. I believe every muslim wants to live his life to the fullest, nobody need to blow himself inorder to be heard. Why cant we stop all the hypocrisy in global politics?. please let everyone be |
TayoD, Everyone is safe in heaven. The little kids are just beautiful sights to behold. if you ve got kids of your own, you know what am talking about. The virgins and his earthly wives are more than enough for our holy prophet. May Almighty Allah continue to guide all of us to the right path not the path of those who have gone astray. Amen |
Very Interesting view points. I just want to make one little correction that was mischieviously represented by Havila as always. The Little boys depiction was infact referring to little kids- boys and girls, those that died before adulthood and the figures were just an estimation by the original writer. They could surely be more. As for the guys talking about worship. there wont be need for that when you get there. You are only given the chance to worship here and when you got there you reap the reward. Babyosisi, the righteous hooded muslims women are going to be hooked up with their beloved earthly husband who by then are going to look more handsome and cute. The description of heaven is far beyond your wildest imagination. This is just a clue |
Yes, ofcourse |
The Bounties are inexhaustable, Mr TayoD. These are just some glimpses |
So the recharge card is for which network? |

Mankind was one single nation, and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the People of the Book, after the clear Signs came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy. Allah by His Grace Guided the believers to the Truth, concerning that wherein they differed. For Allah guided whom He will to a path that is straight. Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)." Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. The month of Ramadan Kareem is very dear to Allah. It is the most august of all months, pure, generous and merciful. Do not let its nights go waste in slumber, its days in careless omission or loss of remembrance of Allah. One of the etiquettes of Du'a is to ask for others, to remember those who are in need. It is a selfless act, displaying humanity and consideration for others. Allah loves a person who first asks for others, then prays fpr himself. The Sixth Imam (a) says: When a Muslim prays for his brother, (increase in) sustenance is given to him, afflictions are driven away, and the angels tell him "You will also receive the same". Many people all over the world suffer indescribable miseries. Tyranny and oppression are rampant in many countries. There is little we can do to alleviate the sufferings. However we can at least pray sincerely for them, hoping that Allah will relieve them as He has power over all things. We also pray that Allah may give us the will and the ability to help others in whatever way we can. Du'a no. 1 (for the nights of Ramadhan and for all occasions) YAA MAFZA-E'E I'NDA KURBATEE WA YAA GHAWTHEE I'NDA SHIDDATEE ILAYKA FAZIA TU WA BIKASTAGHATH-TU WA BIKA LUD'TU LAA ALOOD'U BI-SIWAAKA WA LAA AT'LUBUL FARAJA ILLAA MINKA FA-AGHITHNEE WA FARRIJ A'NNEE YAA MAN YAQBALULYASEER WA YAA-FOO A'NIL KATHEER IQBAL MINNIL YASEERA WAA'-FU A'NNIL KATHEER INNAKA ANTAL GHAFOORUR RAH'EEM ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALUKA EEMAANAN TUBAASHIRU BIHEE QALBEE WA YAQEENAN H'ATTAA AA'-LAMA ANNAHU LAN YUS'EEBANEE ILLAA MAA KATABTA LEE WA RAZ'Z'INEE MINAL A'YSHI BIMAA QASAMTA LEE YAA ARH'AMAR RAAH'IMEEN YAA U'DDATEE FEE KURBATEE WA YAA S'AAH'IBEE FEE SHIDDATEE WA YAA WALIYYEE FEE NIA'-MATEE WA YAA GHAAYATEE FEE RAGHBATEE ANTAS SAATIRU A'WRATEE WAL AAMINU ROO-A'TEE WAL MUQEELU A'THRATEE FAGHFIRLEE KHAT'EEE-ATEE YAA ARH'AMAR RAAH'IMEEN O my Ultimate Sanctuary when troubles surround me! May all your good a'amaals & du'as be accepted, wishes fulfilled and all your sins forgiven. |
Babyosisi, There has never being a case of beheading in Zamfara. Infact in the history of the young state, there has never being any kind of religious violence. If you dont know, a delegation led by the Archbishop of Canteburry Mr. Rowan Atkinson visited zamfara to commend the governor some time ago. Even CAN gave him some awards last year. I mean people that are more passionate about christianity. You only seem to be frustrating yourself with unneccessary hatred. i dont think it will do you any good. |
Oriki, i wonder how u intend to achieve that on nairaland pages. The fact is we can never be what you want us to be. we ve got to be what we are. We are muslims and you are Christians, who do not believe in one God. We should be grateful that we can even sit down and talk about this widenning gulf. We are practically very very different. We can never close rank with apostacy and paganism. There is only one God and Muhammad is the messenger of God, like Moses, Abraham, Noah, Lot, Isaac, and Easa(AS), Son of Mary- who you referred to as Jesus and conveniently called your own God. Oriki, killings, Terrorism and other major vices, just like armed robbery are things we can not deal with here, because we are talking to the wrong audience. The best we can do here is to understand our respective differences and see if we can strike some kind of synergy to brighten the hope for our common goal, which is Peaceful co-existence. |
you guys keep repeating yourselves. its really beginning to be boring. "Lakum Deenukum wa liyaddeen" |
Babyosisi, you know in the past, ladies were not so sharp. How could i ever expected you to be a lady?. ![]() Davidylan, i dont think the phrase " man's world" was coined in Islam. Islamic perception of women as a weaker sex was infact intended to protect them and take care of them. I only wish you can objectively study the whole concept of women in Islam. But i guess you wont. |
So funny. This is cool. i am entertained |

Many, many years ago, there once lived a man who didn’t believe in Allah. And because he didn’t believe in Allah, he would mock at all the muslims about believing in One Allah . It so happened that a Sheikh was told about the man and his wicked ways. He thought long and hard about a plan and, at last, came up with a plan that Insha Allah, would work. He challenged all those who didn’t believe in God and fixed a time and date for this challenge. This challenge was to take place on an open ground, in which the Sheikh would prove to them that there was a God and only One God – Allah. On this day, thousands of people turned up for the event. Everyone, including the muslims were curious to see how the Sheikh would prove One Allah to them. So the muslims were seated on one side, and the disbelievers on the other side. Five minutes ticked by, then ten . . . But the Sheikh was nowhere to be seen. He had not turned up. The speaker of the disbelievers stood up and spoke to the people : “ It seems that we are all wasting our time ! Even the Sheikh knows that there is no God, that’s why he decided not to attend this meeting.” Just at that moment, the Sheikh arrived. What took you so long ? It seems that you yourself are in doubt that there is a God!” laughed the disbeliever. But the Sheikh replied in a calm voice, “ You see, on my way here, there was a river to cross. I waited for the boat, but I could not see one. All of a sudden, a nearby tree walked towards the river bank and fell down in front of me. The bark peeled off automatically and started to chop itself into planks, all by itself. Then the bits and the planks began to fix itself and formed into a beautiful boat. I quickly got into the boat and it started to row, all by itself. This is how I got here.” The disbeliever laughed and told all the muslims, “What kind of Sheikh have you elected as your speaker ? He is insane ! How can a tree walk ? How can a tree peel itself ? How can a tree chop itself an and form into a boat ?” Then Sheikh spoke : “ This is just what I wanted to hear ! Just as a tree can’t form itself into a boat, how can the sun rise all by itself in the morning at its exact time ? How can it set each evening at its correct moment and place ? Who makes us breathe in air and who makes our heart beat ?” The disbeliever bowed down his head – he was speechless and he had no answer. “Allah, of course ! He is the Creator of the entire Universe,” the Sheikh said. Such was the effect of the Sheikh’s words and his beautiful invitation to Islam, that many of the disbelievers became muslims at the hands of the Sheikh. |
Allah (SWT) describes the qualities of some of His beloved servants at the end of Suratul Al-Furqan: “And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those: Who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!" Those who spend the night in adoration of their Lord prostrate and standing. Those who say: "Our Lord! avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous, " Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in". Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not stingy, but hold a just (balance) between those (extremes). Those who invoke not, with Allah, any other god, nor slay such life as Allah has made sacred, except for just cause, nor commit fornication, and any that does this (not only) meets punishment. ( But) the Penalty on the Day of Judgment will be doubled to him, and he will dwell therein in ignominy, unless he repents, believes and works righteous deeds, for Allah will change the evil of such persons into good, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And whoever repents and does good has truly turned to Allah with an (acceptable) conversion. Those who witness no falsehood and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honorable (avoidance). Those who, when they are admonished with the Signs of their Lord, droop not down at them as if they were deaf or blind. Those who pray, "Our Lord! grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous." Those are the ones who will be rewarded with the highest place in heaven, because of their patient constancy: therein shall they be met with salutations and peace, dwelling therein; how beautiful an abode and place of rest! Say (to the Rejecters): "My Lord is not uneasy because of you if ye call not on Him: but ye have indeed rejected (Him), and soon will come the inevitable (punishment)!" (Al-Furqan 25:63-77) We should keep in mind that the servant of Allah is different from ordinary creations. Being given the honor of the title "Ibad-your-Rahman" implies the satisfaction of God by their deeds and qualities. Here, in these verses, Allah is describing the 13 unique qualities which raise a human being from the level of ordinary creation to being the beloved servant of Allah. The 13 traits are: 1. They walk on the earth with humility: This implies that they do not walk arrogantly just because they are physically or materially better than other people. Servants of Allah keep in their minds that whatever good they have is given to them by the mercy and blessing of Allah. Thus, they are humble and modest in their manner. We should note, however, that walking humbly does not mean walking in a lazy or slow manner because, from the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) we know that he used to walk swiftly. 2. Their response to the ignorant is ‘peace’: When people ignorant about Islam taunt and attack them verbally, the servants of Allah’s response is ‘peace’. We don’t want to fight you. We just want to spread the message of peace. Servants of Allah should not get drawn into fights even if others taunt or verbally abuse them. Through such manners, they will be able attract others to the beauty of the belief they have; as Allah (SWT) ordered His prophet (pbuh) in Surah Fussilat (41:34-35) to act: And (O Prophet), goodness and evil are not equal. Repel evil with what is best. You will see that he with whom you had enmity, has become your closest friend. 3. They spend their nights in worship: They spend their nights worshiping God standing and prostrating. Since night worship is voluntary this automatically implies that they are already fulfilling their mandatory five prayers. And besides these five prayers they are working on voluntary worship. Because of the many good virtues that voluntary (Sunnah) prayers have, one should try to perform them as much as possible. Among these virtues the fact that they will be a shield which will guard the mandatory prayers. So if the Muslim gets tired or the devil (Satan) tries to deceive him by saying that it is difficult on him to perform his prayers; he might miss some of the voluntary ones, until he remembers and comes back to Allah. If he is not used to Sunnah prayer, he might miss the mandatory prayer, which is a very serious problem. Also, on the day of judgment, the first deed that is judged the Salah (Prayers); if it is accepted then other deeds are judged. If not, his other deeds will be rejected. So the Sunnah prayers will — by the grace of Allah — compensate for the shortcomings that occur in the mandatory prayer. Some scholars say that if one did not worship or pray the whole night because of decent responsibilities, and he prayed the Isha (Night) and Fajr (Morning) prayers in congregation, then this could be considered as worshiping the whole night. 4. They ask for safety from Hell- Fire: In spite of their performance of both voluntary and mandatory prayers they do not feel that they have done enough and they still fear the punishment of Allah. They are so humble, before Allah, that they do not say, ’Allah give us Heaven for the good deeds we have done’, rather they ask for safety from Hell- Fire for the evil deeds they might have done knowingly or unknowingly. No one should ever think that he deserves Heaven by his deeds. One can never pay back a small portion of the blessings of Allah in this life only, even if he spent all his life in worship. This is why the prophet (saaw) said in a Hadeeth: "No one shall enter Heaven by his deeds"; when his companions replied "even you, o messenger of Allah", he said "even me; unless Allah bestow his mercy on me" 5. They spend their money wisely: That is they behave in neither a miserly nor extravagant manner. This is because they know that whatever wealth they have is blessing from Allah, and He has given it to them as a trust. Thus, they spend their wealth in a manner pleasing to Allah, neither hoarding their money away so that no one can benefit from it, nor spending it in a wasteful and unproductive manner. A Muslim’s first obligation is towards himself and his family. Once a Muslim has satisfied the needs of his family then, whatever wealth is left, can be spent in the cause of Allah. 6. They do not make partners with God: This is the most important quality. Without this one, the others are all useless. The real servants of God do not associate anyone with God. There are two main types of association. First, the obvious type of association is when a person includes people or other gods with Allah. The second type of association is less obvious, and it is when a person allows worldly pursuits to interfere with his worship of God. Some examples of this are: neglecting required religious duties for the sake of a job; or fearing people more than you fear Allah. Servants of Allah do not worship anyone or anything other than one and only one God. 7. They don’t kill without reason: They don’t kill or destroy any life, which Allah has made sacred, without a valid religious reason. The only reasons in which a life may be taken are a) If a Muslim judge orders someone to be killed as a punishment for a certain crime which deserves such a punishment, like killing an innocent soul; b) During war, while fighting for a Muslim army, in which only fighters are killed but not innocent civilians; or c) while defending the life, property, or honor of oneself or ones family. 8. They do not commit adultery: They only have sexual relationships with their spouses and do not indulge in such acts with others. They preserve their honor and sanctity; and restrain themselves from the lust and desire which might seem good for a short period of time, but ultimately destroys the the person and the society by spreading all types of social and physical diseases. This is in addition to the grave punishment of Allah in the hereafter. 9. They do not witness any falsehood: They do not become part of ignorant acts nor witness them. If, by chance, they come across such situations, then they should restrain themselves and honorably walk away. 10. They do not drop deaf and blind on the signs of God: According to the scholars this has two meanings. First, that the servants of Allah don’t feel bored and close their minds when someone mentions the signs of God in front of them. Nor do they pay no heed to the person trying to guide them. Second, they don’t follow anyone blindly. Rather they use the wisdom Allah has given them to understand His message and then they follow it with strength and perseverance. 11. They pray for righteous wives (and women pray for righteous husbands) and children: They pray for God to grant them righteous spouses and children who are a coolness for their eyes, and bring about peace and satisfaction to their souls. They pray that their spouses and children help them on their journey towards Heaven and not be a burden. The Prophet (PBUH) mentioned in a Hadeeth that the joy of this world is a righteous wife. Spouses support each other and they are the cornerstone of any family. Thus, a righteous spouse will help you face the difficulties of this world, resist its temptations, and raise, God willing, righteous children. 12. They wish to be the leaders of the pious believers: That is, they ask Allah to invoke such good qualities in them that they be fit to be the leaders of the good believers. Here, an important thing has to be mentioned. According to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) it is strongly prohibited to seek leadership. In fact leadership should not be given to those who ask for it. It should be given to those who are of excellent religious qualities and are reluctant to become leaders. Thus, in this verse, the servants of Allah are praying to Allah (not asking other people) to give them a chance to be so good that they would be considered as leaders of the already good Muslims. 13. They are patient and consistent: This is one of the most important features. Servants of Allah are patient for whatever burdens they have to bear for the sake of Allah. They are also persistent with their good deeds. Even if these good deeds are few one should not stop doing them. The Prophet (PBUH) said that a small good deed done with consistency is better than a big good deed that is done inconsistently. In the end of the verses Allah says that the reward for Muslims in which these thirteen qualities exist is the highest level of Heaven. There they shall live forever in perfect peace. |
Seun, i guess thats a very neccessary punishment. I thought we that comes to nairaland (both muslims and xians) are adopting a more sensible and intellectual ways of dealing with religious tension but if we continue the way we are going i dont see how different we are with the hoodlums terrorising the people using religious sentiments. lets try and be more reasonable, please. |
I never knew Babyosisi is a lady, i wouldnt have taken so much pain trying to make her see reasons. Now am wiser. Orinkila the jester we are discussing real issues here not jokes, in case u feel like unwinding, check the entertainment section i ve posted some nice jokes there. Islam is religion with its followers just like christianity. If you dont feel so good about islam, its basically your self inflicted problem because the religion and the followers has nothing to do with you. We are instructed to be wary of christian but we were also instructed never to harm anyone unjustly. The global insecurity we are witnessing does not have any Quranic endorsement. what causes violence across the globe can be attributed to atleast one of these:- 1. Perception of Injustice and oppression 2. Deliberate Provocation and incitement 3. Politically motivated tension 4. Poverty, Illiteracy, Drugs and Unemployment I believe if we pick out any incidence of violence anywhere, we can easily identify one of these causative factors. |
(1) O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitanah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand. ( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #118) (2) O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the christians as Auliya (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust). ( سورة المائدة , Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #51) |
The whole story is so clumsy. The death toll was not true so also the extend of the damage. It was just an overhyped story. i wonder who stand to gain from it. |
Christians and jews are enemies of Islam. How can you take them as your friends. Its Islamically forbidden to take anyone of them as your friend. But i agree we can learn to live peacefully. That i very much agree with. there is no need for violence just as there is no need for the friendship. |
My advice is that stop making provocative statements. By doing that you are in a way encouraging violence. we do have a lot of nice things to say to ourselves, why being so negative? Intelligent people are talking about global warming, stem cell research, space tourism, and champions league, why do we spend so much time inciting violence. Dont give the almajiris reasons to go on rampage, they may probably use that energy for some productive ventures. |
