Christianity EtcRe: Da Vinci Code: A Lesson To Muslims by belloti(m): 3:56pm On Jul 05, 2006
The Point, my friends, is you dont seem to agree with our answers or rather you are only looking for grey areas that you alledgedly assumes to be loopholes. What we are talking about is an issue in islamic faith and i dont see how you guys will ever willingly accept an islamic opinion.

The Holy Qur'an says "To you is your religion and to us is ours". there's no need for scrutiny of something you are not ready to believe. Thats my point
Christianity EtcRe: Da Vinci Code: A Lesson To Muslims by belloti(m): 1:11pm On Jul 05, 2006
Why is there so much emphasis about the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam)'s marriage To Aisha(AS)? Thats just one aspect of his glorious life.

If the teachings of Islams seem vague to some of our christian brothers i guess they dont need to ponder over it because they are not bound by any means to accept it. I am sure there is no possible way we can explain this significant historical episode to those who chosed not to understand or appreciate the historical relevance of the marriage.

What i want to stress here is that " Its an Islamic thing exclusively for muslims". If you are not a muslim we owe you no explanation and we dont solicit for your acceptance of the concept.

Lets move on with other less complex and more explicit issues

@ajia23,

Good morning. Could I offer my appreciation for your calm and frank response just above. In
the spirit of good dialogue, I'll temper my inputs with the same. I'm also challenged by some
of the genuine enquiries raised by non-Christians concerning the Christian faith, and I admit
my limited understanding and human weakness in some of those concerns. Good to know in
all that you take the time to look into the matters presented, so we could all reason from
various perspectives as to the reason for our convictions and persuasions.

I completely agree with you that principles are the basis of our search for truth and life of faith
and not a fastiduous and often sentimental attachment to dogma. I look forward to more
seasoned discourses with you, and will do my best to convey the same calmness you've offered
here.

davidylan:
what really is your point in a nutshell? On the side of the north, south or on the fence? You are trapped in the north and yet are tired of the southern nuisance?
Lastly, please don't ever use that " or whatever you call yourself" drivel again in reference to me, whatever transpires on ther religion thread should stay there. You really strike me as a half baked individual.
Davidylan, am sure by now , you should know where i stand. Am surprise you take exception to me using phrases about you, may be its your exclusive preserve. over times i no longer care what language you choose to use in reference to some of us. The Odogwu satement being overstressed here is just another avenue for ethnic and regional muscle flexing. We can decide to ignore the statement and discuss issues of common good if we so desire. i guess some guys like you in particular, felt they had some scores to settle. Thats i see as a negative and futile exercise.
IslamRe: Muslims: What Did You Learn In Islam Recently? by belloti(m): 4:43pm On Jul 02, 2006
Salam, Remy is referring to sajadah while reading the Holy Quran not the one in normal prayer. i hope you are all talking about the same sajadah. Because i also need more clarification on this. Jazakal lah Khairan.
PoliticsRe: Oil In Nigeria Belongs To The North by belloti(m): 4:35pm On Jul 02, 2006
Davidylan or whatever you called yourself. Its obvious you have being habouring your anti-north grudge for a long time. i felt so sorry for you. i wish i can help you reverse the situation.

The fact that we live together in naija is an aberration and a costly luggard mistake. we will never get to like each other. but then thats a cross we all have to carry. For all those who see the north as an unwanted burden, i feel your pain, accept my sympathy.

The oil stays where it is but we in the north felt trapped living together with the grumbling southern nuisance. i d rather starve in the desert if i had the choice.
PoliticsRe: Oil In Nigeria Belongs To The North by belloti(m): 2:49pm On Jun 30, 2006
Zarah, on behalf of Mrlawng who obviously has mellowed down. i believe its time to sheath the swords. we are no longer making sense arguing in this direction.

God gave us oil in naija and God destined us to use it together for the little time we ve got left on earth. Odogwu is entitle to free speech and we in nairaland deserve reciprocal respects from one another.

Hopefully, we dig up another oil in the north.
PoliticsRe: Oil In Nigeria Belongs To The North by belloti(m): 1:30pm On Jun 30, 2006
Mrlawng, i dont think you are doing yourself anygood by earning a strong anti-north reputation. we are not politicians here but you should respect the sense and sensitivity of fellow members. this is suppose to be a medium for creating goodwill and boosting the spirit of brotherhood. but i think you are choosing a wrong course of action and i guess you are having a good run already.

IslamRe: Muslims: What Did You Learn In Islam Recently? by belloti(m): 10:31am On Jun 30, 2006
Thank you so much Seun for introducing me to this thread.

I need to emphasise here that a major difference between Islam and other faiths is the strong quest for knowledge. muslim kids start learning about islam and other faiths immediately they begin to murmur words. our first contact with any form of education is islamic and morals'. We got to learn about God, about Angels and Prophets, Good deeds and Evils, Respect and candour even before we got to conventional nursery schools.

The Sermons in every mosques every friday are reminders about our responsibilities on earth and our duties to mankind. To be our brothers keepers. To be good neighbours regardless of the faith. If you cheat or Hurt a christian its certainly the same thing as hurting a muslim. Humanity are one community. we should be seen as beacons of love not hate. that is true Islam.

What i feel so sad about is there is a very little understanding of Islam among the christian folds. they were taught to hate islam from the cradle. I believe christians should be told to search for knowledge and understand the true meaning of God and Islam and why we should all live in peace.

All we ask from christians is Understanding
IslamRe: Things Mohammad And Jesus Have In Common by belloti(m): 10:11am On Jun 30, 2006
Nuru, you are doing a great service to Islam by enlightening the disbelievers about the true faith.

But i must also remind you here that there is so much vanity in this excercise, because you are talking to people with a mindset, people doomed by their destiny. No one need to believe in one God or Islam but the truth of the matter is that a day of reckoning is coming soon and everyone will be accountable for his actions and inactions.

In as much as i have total and unflinching faith in Islam, i dont care what everyone else choosed to believe because God Almighty has provision for everyone. Its either Heaven or Hell. i only want to stress here that YOU WERE WARNED!.

Am glad we are having sensible people like Ono who can direct their anger to appropriate quarters.

However u looked at it Odogwu is one of the (very) few if any, illiterates you have in your folds. We dont care what he said or did but we have a duty to express our disappointment for any unwarranted attacks by some feel too big but empty folks that are trying to disrespect the codes in this forum.

For all we care Odogwu can go to blazes and for Oil, where ever it may be, We say Thanks to the Almighty who got it there in the first place

PoliticsRe: Oil In Nigeria Belongs To The North by belloti(m): 5:53pm On Jun 29, 2006
Zarah was just pointing out the misrepresentation of the facts here. some guy posted this thread about Odogwu. That guy was basically trying to expose the ridicules some of these politicians brings to themselves. The issue is not about the north-south controversies.

But Mrlawng just messed up himself trying to square up against Zarah. We are only talking about some fools blunder not hapless enmity towards the northerners. If anyone is a misfit here, i bet we all know who he is
Jokes EtcThe Wedding Test by belloti(op): 5:13pm On Jun 29, 2006
My girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year
when we decided to get  married. My parents helped us
in every way, and my friends encouraged me. My
girlfriend? She was a dream! There was only one thing
bothering me.  That one thing was her younger sister.

My prospective sister-in-law was twenty years of
age, wore tight miniskirts, and low cut blouses. She
would regularly bend down when near me, and I got many
a pleasant view of her underwear. It had to be
deliberate. She never did it when she was near anyone
else.

One day little sister called and asked me to come over
to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I
arrived.

She whispered to me that soon I was to be married, and
she had feelings and desires for me that she could not
overcome and did not really want to overcome. She told
me that she wanted to make love to me just once before
I got married and committed my life to her sister.

I was in total shock and could not say a word. She
said, "I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you
want to go ahead with it just come up and get me." I
was stunned. I was frozen in shock as I watched her go
up the stairs. When she reached the top, she pulled
down her undies and threw them down the stairs at me.

I stood there for a moment, then turned and went
straight to the front door. I opened the door and
stepped out of the house and walked straight toward my
car.

My future father-in-law was standing outside. With
tears in his eyes he hugged me and said, "We are very
happy that you have passed our little test. We could
not ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to
the family!"

The moral of this story is:
Always keep your condoms in your car.

I cant seem to understand you guys sometimes. Is Islam too difficult to understand?. lets have a go here

The Word Islam means Peace,

There is only One God,

Do the right things and avoid evils, ie Do unto others as you want others do to you.

Respect others, Be kind and polite, live in peace with everyone.

Say your Daily Prayers, Pay Alms, Fast for Allah and Go for Pilgrimage if u can afford it.

This is true Islam.

Amen, Ajia. You have spoken my mind

Lets tread carefully please. Religion is a delicate and sensitive subject. We can all say our opinion without hurting anyone's sanity. The world is big enough.
Christianity EtcRe: Da Vinci Code: A Lesson To Muslims by belloti(m): 4:11pm On Jun 28, 2006
On second thought i chosed not to ignore the dylan folk.

The fact is i dont get his points. What is he trying to achieve here?. Islam is our religion and our faith. He just came in halfway to introduce some direct attacks on the whole gamut of the religion. i dont see what exactly he want us to do, probably cry and repent or join him in celebration of the attacks. He may not agree with Islamic doctrines but its not an excuse for him to come here and just express some disgusting sentiments. i am not replying any of his misrepresentations. Its not gonna make any difference

In any case, we see this forum as a medium of organised discussions and knowledge sharing. and as for dylan i cant see where he fit in. i am not disappointed but i never knew we still got his species left.

davidylan, u seem new here or rather u just chosed to be arrogant and irresponsible. Whatever, here we have a code of Ethics of never using derogetory terms against our holy figures. No responsible muslim will ever say something negative about christ, never.

As for you Davidylan, go F__k yourself.

i think we should stop this thread. Let everybody believe what he want to believe and lets sorts ourselves out in the hereafter. i am sure some guys here would regrets some of their statements.

Islam is peace. There is only one God. Muhammad, Sallal lahu Alayhi wasallam is a messenger of God and Jesus(Easa), Alayhissalam is also messenger of God. Who ever believe otherwise will one day face the wrath of the Lord.

Hello Baby,

Thanks a million for your timely corrections. i just realised i was a bit carried away in my analogy. certainly my views are basically islamic views, i only sometime wish other religion might consider analysing those views juxtaposing them with other popular opinions.

In anyway, as a muslim i always see Jesus(Easa, peace be upon him), like Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him), as a reverred messenger of God that came to spread the gospel of truth. What happened to his teachings after he left is really an issue i d rather not talk about here.

But i thank you Baby for understanding my perspective.
