We have had Presidents in the past with Nigerian educational certificates without all these crises. Tinubu was obviously not the best man for that job but amongst the 3 major contestants, he was the best person. |

Zonefree: A house help that treats Oga better than the wife is worth sharing the gbola with.
A house help will cook for your husband, serve him, wash his clothes, clean his shoes, sweep his bedroom, dress his bed and you think Oga is foolish not to compensate her with his gbola in a magnificent way
Men are naturally benevolent. No sane man should allow his wife stops him from finding the love of his life. More like stops you from finding the troubles of your life |

My mum is late and had BP because of them. I have done my best to change them but to no avail. I have decided to since leave them to their fate.
I intend to get a place for my dad where he can stay away from them. He is no longer enjoying his stay in the house he build because of them and I am tired of complain here and there. I pray they change for good. The issue is that this thing doesn't just start of a sudden. Children always require adequate and proper attention from the early stage so that the parents can have rest in their old days. |

wonder233: One of the things that can save you when attacked by a mob over false accusation is your determination to physically fight back. Throw wild punches, grab anything to also harm anyone coming for you while yelling your innocence, muster all the anger you have inside of you, tell yourself your life is worth fighting for, they will stop and listen. Don't just curl up and wallow in self pity, FIGHT! A mob interprets not fighting back as an admission of guilt. So fight! You are very right! Let me share a little first hand experience of the trying jobless days as a young Graduate. I got a small job in Abeokuta (from Lagos), I had no accomodation, so I called a female cousin of mine for help, who was then a student with a room. Because she is female I didn't always stay in the room with her, I would just sit few houses away in front of a closed shop. I never knew I was been observed by residents in the area until there was a robbery somewhere around one night and the next day, I still went for my routine sit-out, all of a sudden, the whole community gathered numbering 30 or more, they came to arrest me. I practically fought with them all, I just didn't care as I was going through a lot already, but robbery was not one of it. It was my resilience and determination to take on all of them that led to my eventual release. They compromised, when the realized I would not calm down, I was very angry and very contentious. I blasted all of them and I clearly expressed myself both in Yoruba and English. They eventually resorted taking me to the Baale instead of Police Station that night. We dragged the issue from evening till night 6-10pm before I was finally let go and my cousin also had the same fighting spirit and joined in the battle to rescue me. It was not funny at all. But I learnt to always fight back no matter what. Don't just allow yourself to be molested, injured or killed for doing nothing wrong! |

Dogalmighty17: You arrested and lucked up your husband for 2 days? No one is dumb here ma. No right thinking woman just suddenly locks up her husband. Was there food in the kitchen for him when he came home? Did you cook for yourself and just the children?
There are other crises resolution and mediation channels available to resolve issues within spouses. Did you explore any of them?
You most probably had nurtured this thought of locking your husband up for a while. You also most probably have mocked him in your actions and your words.
Madam, you don buy market o! I assure you of this, your husband will never forgive you. The day that man gets a job and finds his feet you will be the one begging for divorce. I am not making excuses for him. Your husband is going through serious depression. No man wants to not be able to provide for his family. The present economy doesn't help at all. You could have handled the situation better. But then, a man cannot keep wallowing in self-pity and depression in the name of job loss. In what ever you do in life, just have it in mind that you are a nobody and anything can happen to anyone at anytime. Job loss doesn't mean the end of the world, life must continue, you must look for any other thing to do and help your wife keep the family running. That a man works to keep the family running is how he has been raised and made to believe and perharps, how a man is built to function. The family must run whether you have a job or not, your children must feed, they don't take any excuses and bills must be paid. So, a man should not allow depression get hold of you because you lost your job, some men never had a 'job' in their life time and they have kept it going. Locking up your husband for 2days is crazy! Really crazy!! I hope you guys resolve your issues. Women are not just too good at financing the house without adverse reactions. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: I Actually Flopped In My Micro Teaching Interview by Berankis: 5:52pm On Aug 21, 2023 |
dboY1123: My previous post about a big school that called me for an Interview, Well I actually went there, did my test and when I was asked to come in for Micro Teaching where I was faced with Staff of the school and maybe the principal, I flopped and panicked heavily. The fear was well written all over my face and I was just saying rubbish despite choosing to teach "Matter" as my topic. Immediately I came in and they asked for my name and few other questions before the micro teaching, my voice was already shaking as if I have never taught before in my life(they noticed and told me to calm down).
Although I am an introvert, I hardly face audience talk more of strangers and the quest to ensure that I performed, those things enveloped/swallowed me completely. I have never taught in such a big school before, I think my qualification was what made them approach me in the first place. One of the staff kept throwing questions at me, I mean confusing questions just to know my depth of knowledge in the particular topic, and guess what? I flopped totally and became disorganized. But luckily, there was a man among the panel who gave me the option of coming back and prove myself that I am a qualified teacher as stated in my CV or I should take another topic I'm more comfortable with. So, I opted to leave and come back so I can regain my confidence.
Now, I have been given enough time to go and make research and convince them on Monday. How do I conquer that fear and what are the things they look so I can prepare hard. Thank you. The truth is... it is normal to be unsettled a little in the presence of a crowd, but you must promise yourself not to lose your composure, you must prove your point. At least, everyone in that room also panicked at some point in the past too. So be calm always, speak slowly and take your time before you speak to compose yourself. See the audience as your students, "never see them as people who know more than you" and try to teach them. I experienced this while I was doing NYSC but now I have made presentations on behalf of my company at different programs. So you can do it. You will be just fine. |

Abuja Masterplan, Abuja Masterplan.. Government should publish these Masterplans so that everyone can know it or even have a copy of it, in order to avoid violating it.. Not for any government in power to hide behind a shady and indeterminate "masterplan" to carry out vendetta and take over legitimate properties
This government will issue an approval for a building in line with the "masterplan".. The next government will come in and demolish the same building for not being in line with the "masterplan".. Playing politics with people's investments. Lovely and intelligent analysis. I agree with you sir. |
