Got runners in the house? Ok, I am lazy and I don't have any stamina and I need it for December (some peeps here know why) . Though I look lean and mean, I am the most unfit person. So I have decided to start running. The problem is, I don't know which running shoe to get. I have about 200usd to spend on running gears. So, Landers, kindly advice on what to get, mostly shoes. Thanks in advance. |
Welcome back, teacher. Deb, MissEniola, Xanadu, and all others, you are all appreciated. Make JJC like me, learn something new. |
See, if pesin wake up and say, I wan become second, third or whatever wife, I no have problem with that. But having to give someone out to DOM is something me I no too like. Nice or no nice, that should be personal choice to be a sister wife, not some deranged pastor. I no think any stable, right thinking woman, go wan share husband in this century. |
Personally, I think we should all go to the University. Let me give you an example: My sis, she graduated like four years ago. She went to a poly in Osun state for her OND and Oyo State for her HND. Upon completion of her OND, my dad asked her to go to a university, which by the way, was already arranged, as per Nigerian style. Anyway, long tori short, she no go. She sat at home for about three years. Finally she dey work now, but them dey pay her about 400k less than someone with a B.S degree(which I call bullshit). Now she is looking back and saying, had I listen. See, we all know Nigeria is bad. Education is even worse. Me, I am an average student. Cs were fine by me. My two other friends wey I dey roll with for naija, one came out with a first class (working with an oil company now), the other came out with a 2-1 in UK now. Me, tho, if I bin finish for Naija, na 2-2 I for take finish. Now, tell me, wetin I go dey do now? I probably go marry and begin eat pesin money . I sha fine. Lol. What I am trying to say is this, I got to the states, and peeps were coming to me to solve their problems. Na the same brain wey I get for Nigeria na him I get for here too o, but the difference in the educational sysytem is too mush to begin mention. Is it the size of the classes or the resources or the level of knowledge of the instructors (by the way, na Mr. Lecturer we dey call am for Naija), no be yoke. I no know the kin helep, wey HND holders fit get. Maybe, when I come open my factory, I go employ some technical hands, afterall, na them I dey work with now and my technicians/operators are cool. Dem fit mess the whole company up, so na jeje I dey treat them. |
Me sef, I happi welli welli. I bin watsh the documentary on them peoples. Disgusting to say the least. How can you give a fifteen year old to a man three times her age and with ten other "sister" wives? I mean, that is just ridiculous. Hopefully, them go see end to this craziness. |
Ok, maybe that is bad . Heard they caught una guy. Jeffs abi wetin be him name. |
Oh, I can assure you, it is worse. I am in the middle of corn fields. Lol. Ok, I dey North Dakota. Peeps no even know where that is ![]() |
True, Dallas is where all the fun is at. Now I am in the middle of no wia. Make una no ask me where I dey o. ![]() |
Zulu, my first place to sleep for obodo America was Irving. Though, right now, I aint in Dallas. |
Seems some of you are confuse or something. I take God beg una, if una no get questions to ask or answer to give, biko, jo, please, and any other language una understand, no come here. I take almighty Olorun, Olodumare, Chineke, beg you. ![]() Thanks. |
Got two hours to burn online. I guess I'll watch those brain-killing Nigerian movies. |
There are so many ways this discussion can go, so I'll just let it go. Dak., if you want to kill the culture, go ahead and kill it within your family. Believe me, some of us love the Yoruba culture too much. It ain't going anyway anytime soon. |
Thanks for adding that, Gigitte. |
It has come to my notice that we have non-Nigerians dating Nigerians here and most come with one question or the other. This thread is for asking questions and we (Nigerians) will try and give you answers. And the questions we don't have answers to, we'll be kind enough to direct you to the right place to get the answers. Nigerians, reasonable ones o, Please kindly respond to the questions that might be raised. Non-Nigerians, try and ask specific questions with examples. That way we can better answer your questions. Hope this will help in any way. |
Wow, girl I do feel you on this. I will definitely mail you on yahoo or chat with you. That is some serious issue right there. Not to worry, things will come out fine at the end. The major thing, is you believe in God and He will make everything good in His time. Don't worry. |
No, Seun, that is not allowed. Finish the story, or I go, hmmm, make I no talk. ![]() Just complete the story, when you have the time. Also no forget wetin Tinard said o. You might just land yourself a job, has a script writer. |
Pray tell, Neoteny, that you was joking? make i speak small Akata English . You did not mean all you typed, right?I thot as much. |
Smashing, I perfectly understand where you are coming from. It is definitely not easy. One thing I am going to tell you is this, be open minded. If me, Adebola, can talk to a shorter guy, then any body can. LOL. I mean, before I could even listen to a guy, he has to be taller. I don't care if the guy is the most intelligent guy. Or the most romantic guy. Meaning, I don't even wait for him to say anything. I just keep it moving. But of late, I have decided to let it go. Why, you might ask? A man is a man. Some are more loving, some are more intelligent, some are more romantic, some are taller, but at the end of the day, the guy that loves u most and respects you most is the one you want to hold on to. I used to attribute height with complex. See, I have met tall guys that have very low self esteem and that is so annoying. I have also met tall guys that are just so plain arrogant and stupid. The summary of all this, get a man that respects you, one that loves you more than anything, one that values you. One that knows that you are more than long legs and pretty face. One that knows that with you by his side, he can rule the world. Now, if he turns out to be shorter, then so be it. I am sure, you do not want to end up with someone that is so full of himself, you don't matter to him. Sistas, let's learn to love ourselves and carry ourselves with a lot of pride. Respect from a guy is definitely one million times greater than height. N.B: I am also a r'ship adviser, amongst other things that I do . I will not sugarcoat words for you. I will simply tell you the way it is. Life too short to be sad. |
Mission unaccomplish! |
I agree, the pesin miss road. Oh well, I see that we got new addition to the Tall Sistas Club. So far tho, seems there are just a few of us. To all sistas, stand tall, be proud and walk with a lot of confidence, because we are awesome! |
I frankly agree with you. Why so many kids? What are you trying to achieve with so many kids? If you so like kids, how about landing an helping hand to say maybe, one of those kids in the orphanage? How about helping a cousin or distant relative struggling in raising their kids? I could continue with the questions. Until Nigerians start to see that you don't have to have fifteen children and that even if you do, you ain't proving anything to anyone. What I don't understand is this, how about have two kids, take good care of them, they go to good schools, they make good grades, they enjoy family love and attention, because there ain't a lot of them. Nigerians, the number of kids you have does not say anything about who you are. If you love kids, kindly ADOPT. |
There is a thread, where doctors on NL, give advice. You can ask your question there and you can be sure to get professional answers. Most of what you'll get here, is people tellling you what they think. Just my 5 kobo. |
At the topic, I guess you should take the picture of the dress alone. You'll get more offer like that. Seeing it on someone might discourage potential buyers. Just my 5 kobo. ![]() |
Mission accomplished. |
Luvu sista, we aint trying to make any one feel bad or lose their confidence. It is just that, the taller sistas have a limited pool of guys to choose from when it comes to choosing taller mates. You on the other hand, have a lot. So, be happy, pick up your confidence level and be proud! |
I guess I have to go watch the video. I go get back to you later. |
Mechanical fluidity, that does bring to mind, fluid mechanics class. I mos. def. did not like class. Too mechanical for me. But in the context of the poem, I prefectly understands. Thanks Genial. Here is something for your cheeks. lol You aint on msn? |
