StaffofOrayan: But remember it wasn't the black man that invented Instagram with the idea of followers and creators, travel around Africa and you would meet the most helpful police and military except where military rule (which is indirect colonial rule) has held sway for too long,
You would be surprised that citizens of countries like North Korea would be the ones reporting each other to the secret police, oppression begets oppression
A Nigerian military man knows if he dies, there is a probability he would declared missing and buried in a shallow grave with his family left to fend for themselves, but all that is meaningless if he has the opportunity to oppress a civilian, for a few minutes he is a 'man' again, 'Oga abeg' drives him over the edge
North Korea is worse than Nigeria in terms of repression of civilians and they are some of the worst persecutors of christians because they believe christianity would end their dynasty.
StaffofOrayan: Most Nigerians are so oppressed that they can only derive joy in oppressing others with the little they have, Nigeria is one of the few countries you would hear 'do you know who I am? " It's sad really,
Its not because of oppression that people do that, it's just black mans mentality..... black people (the vast majority) are vain.... I think hushpuppi has 2.5m Instagram followers even more than any decent politician or activist. Nigerian culture is vain that's why ppl oppress themselve and always ask "do you know who I am"?
AFONJACOW: can you hear your stupid self Oyimbo dey test run their trains before it start it normal daily routines... Ewu
Exactly.... they do daily tests, monthly and quarterly tests; they even project when it's likely to spoil and also check the impact of heavy snow and work with weather forecasts to divert routes if necessary.. .. the retrogression of Nigeria isn't due to bad leaders, it's because the vast majority of the population are lazy, indisciplined and sick in the head with toxic masculinity....
Ogidigan1: This is the result of failure to comply with preventive maintenance protocols! I thought these trains were recently acquired?
Naija we hail thee!
Nothing works in naija! Refinery nkor! Railway transport nkor! Air transport nkor! Roads nkor! Education nkor! Health nkor!
The list is endless!
What a country!
A country were nothing works!
And we have been selling crude oil and natural gas since 1956!
Only God will purnish Lord Lugard where ever he his!
They said we have slipped into recession, yet corrupt politicians r devising new looting strategies!
I wish God can just send earthquake to gulp these evil men in the middle of their plenary sessions and FEC meeting!
It is because Lord Luggard and the british left that Nigeria is like this. even if luggard didnt integrate Nigeria, there would be around 36 countries which will all still be a mess.
slowice: If I think of how much they borrowed to fix railroads and import these faulty locomotives I just angry.....our government officials make deals to steal from the nation at every given opportunity. That's why nothing works no matter how much they invest in it. Ameachi bought refurbished locomotives for the price of a jet like train.....in less than 2years they re already developing faults
What is wrong with you can't you think?? The routine servicing and maintenance of the trains weren't done.... what's with blaming "government" and "leaders" all the time. The train service technician and his/ her boss should be fired.... these ppl are Nigerians not the government/leaders or Chinese people often blame.
ashacot: Typical NIgeria mentality. Lack of maintenance and I don't care attitude. We always have this "make we manage am" Attitude. At the end, cost of repair will now be greater.
This is also the singular reason why all these railway the Chinese are building is a waste of time.. .. Nigerians won't be able to maintain it.... sooner or later everything will stop working.....
ashacot: The Kaduna-Abuja Train Station breaks down again leaving passengers stranded. This time it breaks down in the middle of the bush. Recall that the train service broke down not long ago which made minister of transportation Rotimi Ameachi to Apologise to Nigerians for the inconveniences.
It however didn't take long for it to repeat itself leaving the passengers stranded in the middle of the bush. The passengers were seen protesting the incident inside the train. The train attendant was seen trying to calm the already pissed passengers who questioned the rationale for moving a faulty train just to risk their livess Watch video.
oluwadabira111: You mean half of the central bank? Mtcheew! UK sef should expose themselve na,how much have they stolen from us 1960 till date, hypocrite set of people.
The United Kingdom has stolen nothing from "us" since 1960.... and there is no "us" in Nigeria it's just me me me....
Moreover you think too much of Nigeria's resources.... the Nigeria isn't the only country that has the mineral resources the UK needs...
Ever8090: This people should stop this plenty talks already and announce the band on all Nigerian politicians and their families, send their children back to Nigeria then send all Nigerians all over the world so that the war will start.
The reason why Nigeria is yet to experience the kind of revolution that has never happened before is because, is because escaping from the country for greener pastures in other countries is an option.
If Nigerians can't escape, we will have no choice than to fight back and make all our leaders dead and alive vomit every thing they have embezzled over the years...
But truth is,..if corruption stops in Africa, many European countries economy will suffer...that is why they keep talking but won't announce the ban and stand by it..
Why do you think Sowore is in Nigeria? Sowore saw that Nigeria is better than new york new Jersey. Tinubu saw it in the 70s or so an returned. Many ppl in US/Canada are tired of cold and are coming back... so we are getting to that point soon
DebbieBianca: #EndSARS Protest: The least we can do is to make sure that those who have murdered Nigerians are unable to benefit from trade or travel to the UK - Lyn Brown (video)
Member of UK parliament, Lyn Brown has called for sanctions against those involved in the shooting incident during the EndSARS protest in Lekki on October 20.
Speaking during a debate in the house on Monday November 23, Lyn stated that the least they can do is to make sure that those who have "murdered" Nigerians and deprived them of their human rights are not able to benefit from trade or travel to the UK.
She added that these include government officials and the Nigerian army who are stopping a "transparent investigation and effecting of justice." The lawmaker also averred that it was unfortunate that the Federal Government went ahead to not only accuse protesters of sponsoring terrorism and freeze their accounts, but also blamed them for the increase in food prices.
Please come and colonize Nigeria - it will be a much better country!
What Nigerian senators/assembly arent doing, you are doing for them - what a shame
CNN has released a second report with videos showing soldiers shooting at unarmed protesters on October 20, 2020 at Lekki Tollgate. The CNN new report also shows protesters running as soldiers open fire at the tollgate.
The fresh report also shows Brig.Gen Ahmed Taiwo admitting before the judicial panel in Lagos that his men took live ammunition to the tollgate. It also shows that Brig.Gen Taiwo’s claim is at variance with information minister, Lai Mohammed's claim that the army fired blank bullets.
Extra: "We continue to stand by our reporting" - CNN tells the Nigerian government
magicminister: Only people wey no fit ever get hope to travel fit support stupid rules like this. When they invaded Africa, they no think say the effect would mean more immigration to their country.
Nobody invaded Africa.... quit blaming.... didn't Abacha invade Nigeria's treasury?? Why aren't you blaming him and sars??
Difrent: Don't be so perssimistic ,NIGERIA WILL BE GREAT AGAIN.....I used to tell people ,a bad situation cannot continue forever ,the situation will change one day afterall those who want to continue milking the country dry won't live forever .
Nigeria has never been great - it was only great because the white man was here then....
ethicallyright: All you have written are theoretical and do not happen easily in real life in Nigeria. As a son of a landlord with large estates since birth, I will tell you what the reality is.
The real gainers in the fragile Nigerian Real estate industry are agents (legal practitioners, professional agents and freelancing agents) who take 10% return of investment after investing only their time and/or educational qualification. Those who were lucky to buy land at lower prices at previously undeveloped areas are the biggest gainers. The bane of the Nigerian real estate industry especially the renting and leasing department is familiarity and the reluctance of landlords to separate their business from their personal and family lives. As a landlord, the only rent you are sure of is the first annual rent. After that , your tenant becomes close to your children, buys them gifts and toys, gifts you Christmas and birthday gifts which are all a preamble to côck and bull stories that will arise when it is time to renew their rent.
To maximize profit in the real estate business, try as much as possible to live in a separate environment from your tenants and hand over the affairs of your estate to a strict professional ,most likely a legal practitioner, who will not let defaulting tenants spend a night under your roof after their rent expire. These professionals know how to give quit notices that will elapse at a time that will ensure that you will earn your projeceted annual rent income in case a tenant defaults. If you are below 30, consult Urban Town planners in your state who will give you a professional projection of future town development plans. This will enable you purchase massive plots of land at very cheap prices at areas that may become very economically viable soon. Invest in agriculture even if it is planting of fruit trees until 15-20 years when you can make millions even billions from the land. Real estate is largely a long term investment.
All the millions of naira asked for property in Lagos.. .. those prices aren't really worth it... Lagos has high property prices but very low standard of living..... which does not justify the high prices .... no public library, no security, no parks etc
Soldier go ,soldier come barracks remain. The last Monetary Policy Committee meeting in year 2020 will start today. I am expecting CBN to reduce Monetary Policy Rate so as to increase spendings but my fear is this may worsen exchange rate
They are always in the know of all these hikes but do nothing before it's being executed; just to come and be doing meeting to enrich their pockets.. evil people and wicked govt
Evil Nigerians and wicked Nigerians. G9vernment and Nigerians are one and the same.....
Firstly you are an economic illiterate. All major economies have duties to protect their industries. Especially those that they wish to develop them domestically.
In Japan, Germany and Koreas case they impose hefty duties on foreign cars to favour their own car makers. The result being that the majority of cars driven in their nation are from national carmakers.
In China’s case to avoid heavy duties you have to build a factory in China as Tesla and BMW have done. Only problem is they steal your tech.
America is an interesting case study the majority of cars they drive are American. But the majority of vehicle US manufacturers specialise in are SUVs, why because a foreign SUV attracts 35% duty if imported. A much lower share of other cars are American made in the US because they attract lower import duties.
If you are going to tell lies at least tell a good one. Protecting domestic industry is the first step in industrialisation. From the Meiji restoration in Japan to the more recent miracle on the Han in South Korea, there is no other way.
Yet again Buhari and his cabal highlight their tribal bigotry and economic illiteracy... clowns
Vote them out in 2023..
Nigeria can't manufacture cars because Nigerians lack the tenacity and meticulousness requires to consistently manufacture high quality reliable vehicles - unless the manufacturing plant is manned by foreigners in addition to Nigerians
Rugaria: That will bring more revenue to Nigerias government because it will kill the car importation business through cotonou. But at the same time, it may mark the end of our growing automobile industry. The likes of innoson should worry. Government has chosen more money over greater technology transfers here. Obviously, the government is really cash strapped. Benin republic rakes in billions from Nigerians through the many cars going towards Nigeria that are cleared at her ports every year. It may also improve the quality and models of cars driven in Nigeria. You will be surprised that in relative terms, folks in cotonou drive more recent models of cars than Nigerians. Nigerians have to drive older models because importers pay lesser duties on those, thereby standing a better chance of making more profits... Problem is that the accrued revenue will ultimately disappear into private hands or end up being used to biuld up Niger republic..
Innosons cars are just as expensive as the foreign cars.... so now point hiking foreign cars duty....
jesmond3945: ok but they call it anglo dutch? Just like you buy dangote shares but aliko owns it or uba shares but elumelu owns itm
You are wrong here. Anyone can be the majority shareholder in any public company.... moreover why hasn't any indeginous firm reached the level of Shell? Laziness?
If not it won't be difficult for you to know there is something wrong when an economy is in recession and someone is claiming same economy is fast(est) growing. Let them show us the data and metrics that informed them that.
Besides, if you know about international politics and global economic war you'll know Nigeria is in a big mess.
I agree with your second and third paragraphs.... if the UK praises Nigeria and if it's false praise it should be recognized as such like you have rightly done and then bureau of statistics should produce their own report....
Shell is a public company quoted on multiple stock exchanges around the world. Anyone including you and me can buy shell shares and also be an owner of Shell.
jesmond3945: they are buying your oil with the money they make from your backyard. They are also lifting in some instance without payment. Now in uk they are banning fossil fuel card and installing charging stations everywhere but still they are in Nigeria lifting our oil. We don't have leaders.
Who allowed them to lift without payment? Blacks/ Nigerians. It beggars belief that the vast majority of Nigerians love blaming others for their woes.
Austin4Jesus: Have always said it that UK is one of the biggest Parasites we have, They are the genesis of our problem but God Almighty will deliver us from them all. Amen.
Low iq man looking for who to blame for your woes....
Rugaria: Be waiting, you hear? Where should I come to prove that? At your Alkali Cort? Let me assemble erminent SANs to "PROVE BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT" (you should have written that in red too for more emphasis) to you that Britain influences Nigerias elections! Justice Big Badhiru..
Low iq man looking for who to blame for your problems is a sign of both laziness and mental illness....
chaloskyx: WHY DOES EVERY THING ABOUT NIGERIA HAVE TO COME FROM THE UK ? ALL I CAN SEE IS THE UK TRYING TO REDEEM THE IMAGE OF THE BUHARI LED ADMINISTRATION WITH THIS STATEMENT. NOW I KNOW FOR SURE THE UK IS BEHIND THE FAILURE OF THIS COUNTRY
Rugaria: We are saying different things! You are talking about buying and selling, and I'm talking about wayward imperialism.. As per buying and selling of oil, We also sell to India and China. Those countries get their stakes in Nigerias oil industry by "competing" to win bids. Britain and co imposed Buhari and has been supporting all types of brutal leaders amenable to their interests here. Getting all sorts of kickbacks from the back door as a result. You may say, 'that's the game nations play', but as a citizen of the country at the receiving end who watches as his country goes through the endless pangs of poverty that follows with such intrusion, I have a right to object!
So why can't Nigeria and Nigerians impose bad leaders in the UK as well to get their resources as well as their financial services sector? aren't all humans equal?
Also where is your evidence to PROVE BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT THAT Britain imposes leaders on Nigeria and that Britain imposes Buhari on Nigeria?
