Thanks for the clarifications. I really wish you would take time and set things right before reapplying. Get an operations bank account separate from your business account and run it smoothly for the next 6 months before reapplying. The ECO thinks logically that most probably the funds in your business account were paid in by customers awaiting service delivery and if you use such funds for traveling and by chance the customer wants a refund, there would be no money to cover that (just an example) which is why the ECO stated that s/he does not think the funds in the business account would be available to you for your trip. If you have the operations account and you push in funds monthly to settle salary, make purchases for office use and other sundry, the various activities therein would convince the ECO that funds in that account is unencumbered (free of potential debt or other financial liability) unlike using your business account. Its a general mistake many applicants make. Whatever fund account you are presenting in support of your visa application MUST be proven unencumbered. Again, it depends on how you drafted the letter ....ECO don't have time reading through lengthy letters. Use either an excel spreadsheet to explain all the entries in your bank statement. Most banks allow you to export to Excel use this. I know someone here on this thread who had a template for this ....search through and you will see where she explained same Fekeri: @ bigtt76:
Thank you for your contributions. I own the company and there is no side hustle. We have one account for business and as well operations.
I did not use my salary account for side business. The deposits into that account since 2017 till date were strictly salaries except 3 payments - school fees refund from post graduate school 165k, refund of 110k from 3D wall papers and approved travel allowance for 2018 and this were all clearly explained.
I own the company but business payments are dealings are handled separately from personal accounts and the in the sponsorship letter, the amount and purpose being for return ticket, accommodation, feeding and transportation was also stated and hence I added the business account statement.
I feel the ECO did not read the cover letter. I really do want to reapply to explain the last 3 deposits in the company account of 5th and 11th. Although I did not see that as lodgment because the transactions were genuine transactions and the last transaction was made 10days before I printed the statement. I want to reapply but want to be sure what went wrong or how to draw their attention to these explanations on the cover letter. |

Exactly and that's why you now have all the likes of PiggyVest etc mopping up loose cash through the use of Technology platforms. ChineduObinna: The form you fill from CBN for a bid , cannot, accept <₦50m. But you can invest less than ₦50m in TB by using banks that have pools(all banks have one) the down side is that if say CBN offers 16% at the end of the tenure, the pool may get 10% from their bank, or broker |

I'm a bit confused myself. Are you self-employed? Meaning do you own the company or you have a side hustle? Company is sponsoring you for the business meeting need to submit an operations account.... that is one from which they draw funds to foot monthly expenses (salaries, office maintenance etc) instead of one which handles funds used for business (customer payments for goods and services). The company bank statement the ECO saw probably gave him or her a wrong impression that the funds paid into that account are meant for business strictly and not for sponsorship of trips etc hence why having an operations account is advisable. I also advise that as a salary earner, avoid using your salary account for private business inflows you cannot adequately defend or explain convincingly. In the sponsorship letter your company issued you, did they state the expected cost of the trip and or what would be covered? In summary, the ECO wants to be sure that you are gainfully employed with a steady salary paid by your company monthly and also the company is capable of sponsoring you without dipping hands into their business funds. Fekeri: I attached my personal account statement and explained everything in the cover letter. I’m convinced the ECO didn’t read the cover letter because I clearly spelt out how the deposits came in as salary and tallied with the company salary payment. And the other two smally refunds. I also referred to the previous denial in which my salary was judged excess. Anyways I need someone to give me idea because even the company up there are wondering of the refusal too |

Award dem Durex Certificate of Return jooooooor filipthompson2: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will not issue certificates of return to any candidate declared winner of an election under duress.
Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, made this known during a meeting with the inter-agency consultative committee on election security held in Abuja on Thursday.
There was widespread intimidation and harassment of the commission’s staff during the last presidential and national assembly elections.
In Imo, for instance, Francis Ibeawuchi, INEC returning officer for the Imo west senatorial election, said he was “forced” to announce Rochas Okorocha, Imo state governor, as winner of the poll.
Yakubu said the commission will not tolerate the intimidation of its staff during Saturday’s elections.
“I am confident that working together with the security agencies, we will consolidate on the largely peaceful conduct of the presidential and national assembly elections while also taking decisive steps to deal with the minority of violators intent on disrupting the conduct of peaceful elections,” he said.
“However, the commission will not tolerate the act of holding our officials hostage and forcing them to declare winners under duress. Where such occurs, the commission will not reward bad behaviour by issuing them certificates of return.”

You need bill of lading and invoices if you're applying for a business visa but in this case, you're going for visitor's visa ...you might not need all of that. Like mentioned earlier, the ECO only wants to be sure s/he is not approving a visa to an applicant who would not return back to his or her home country hence the need to show adequate tie to your home country (motivation for you to want to return back) and this is usually (but not limited to) high paying jobs or business, landed properties, immediate family and personal investments. 1. You have a thriving business .....good! 2. You are well paid .....good but you need to justify that salary (the ECO would be wondering how come you earn that much as salary for selling cars, most people would have stated something in the neighborhood of N300K with the rest stashed as commissions on cars sold...to me that looks more realistic) - do you pay PAYE tax to government? If you do ....include the tax certificate. 3. Do you have other landed property in your name? 4. Close family ties? I would advice you either decide to apply strictly on your personal terms and you won't have to include all the bill of ladings & invoices but rather your personal bank statement, family ties and property documents. On the other hand, if applying as company director, then submit your company documents and a board resolution awarding you an all expense paid vacation as part of your benefits. But again 95% shareholding of a company doesn't sounds good to me but might not be an issue. It makes it all look like a one man business masked as limited liability company .....those ECOs read meanings into all things we take for granted. Last but not the least, it appears you did not correctly state how much you earn salary monthly and yearly in total. The salary inflow on your bank statement should also correspond with the outflow on your company bank statement. Some businesses maintain multiple accounts - one strictly for business (receipts from goods or services sold) and other for operations (funded with profits made and used to service the company's bills, salary and other expenditures). All the best though. Micafe: Thanks again for your contribution, it has been helpful. However, every month, I state ‘’Salary including the month. There are frequent transactions. Both inflow and outflow with description of what the money is meant for. There was never a lump sum, its a car business which means every credit is in millions and for every car Sold, I have the bill of lading used in importing it.
I think henceforth I will start using my company name as the consignee, I never knew it could be an issue later. But reapplying now, can I do without adding the bill of lading? Also, I’m thinking of attaching 6months invoice of cars that were sold and give an explanation in the cover letter and explain how I import them.
I will consider the board resolution. God bless you. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bigtt76(f): 8:40pm On Mar 07, 2019 |
The ECO wants to see monthly entries tagged as salary (if you claim to be a salary earner) in your personal bank account statement. In your business account, they want to see frequent transactions in and out of the account and not some lump sum deposit at varying intervals, if you claim to be a business person. You also mentioned being a director with 95% shares good, why not include a board resolution stating the company is footing part or whole cost of your vacation as part of your director's benefit? Depending on how you want to push your case, you might or might not need payslips. You might need to however, state how you arrived at paying yourself the salary. On the bill of laden being in your name, I think that's a wrong move, it would have been good if it's in the company’s name. I mean, what company would order goods in the name of her employee? Rather in the name of the company with the employee's name as contact person Micafe: Pls, When you say source of income, you mean the source of the credits in my business account or the 950k paid to my salary account? Because all the credit that comes in into the business account are strictly car sales credits and the only credit in my personal account is my salary paid from the business account. I’m not hiding anthing, that’s why i added all those bill of lading and car purchase invoice from U.S to show that I import cars steady. Should I add additional invoices that shows the car I have sold which will tally with the credits in the business account? Also, do I need to get a payslip? Thanks alot for your time Gbam!! Said it all. tolani4real: You were denied because the officer doesn't believe your story. The problem about your application was mainly your source of income as shown in your documents. The officer doesn't believe that you actually owned that money. Next time you apply make sure you explain the source of the income. Also separate company fund from personal fund. |

Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr, has played down the chances of the Super Eagles winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
He argued that Nigeria are not among the top three ranked teams in Africa.
The German gaffer noted that Nigeria did not qualify for the last two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, hence their poor Fifa ranking.
The former Burkina Faso coach picked three North African countries, as well as Senegal as the favourites for the title.
“No, I do not think we can say that. When we look at the ranking of Africa and FIFA, we are not the first African country,” says Genrot Rohr
“There are other countries in front of us, I think we are fourth. There is Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt that may be favourite at home for the AFCON, there is also Senegal in front of us.
“The ranking is not just the latest results, but for a few years. In 2014, 2015, Nigeria was not great and did not qualify for the last two AFCON. It has somewhat handicapped its ranking at FIFA and Africa,” he added.

When he was state governor ....what did he do? Is it now that he's a senator who obviously would put him at logger head with the state governor that he will do something? Shobowalebola: In what could be described as the mother of all political collaborations winner of the keenly contested Abia-North Senatorial election Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu yesterday met with APGA Chieftain and 3rd runner up in the Abia-North Senatorial election Chief David Ogba also known as Bourdex.
It can be recalled that Kalu was declared the winner of Abia North Senatorial District in the February 23rd Presidential/National Assembly elections.
The former Governor polled a total 31,203 votes to defeat the incumbent, Ohuabunwa who polled 20,801 votes and the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance Chief David Ogba who scored 11,410 votes.

He was warmly received by the APGA Chieftain and Senatorial candidate both of them immediately proceeded upstairs for a closed door meeting.
Emerging from the closed door meeting Kalu recalled his long apolitical relationship with Chief Bourdex while also stating his resolve and total readiness to establish a formidable collaboration for the upliftment of Abia-North and Abia State at large.
According to the Former Governor, he and Chief Bourdex had maintained long standing family ties despite their political differences.
He said: “I and bourdex are brothers beyond our political affiliations, Infact his family and I have maintained close ties for many years. His children and my children are best of friends to the extent that their visit each other timely.

We have decided to jointly work together towards the emancipation of our people. Let me also salute the statesmanship of Chief Bourdex during and after the election it is worthy of emulation.
