Sad but this can discourage investors or returnees in the diaspora

Laughable! @embolden In the sight of be fined for ineptitude service, MTN still wants to defraud the government the same way they've been doing to subscribers eh?

"• N70bn through the provision of broadband access to the FG (subject to excess capacity on MTN’s fibre network) for its e-initiatives"

You can imagine the amount running while service can't be accessed

I've come to understand Buhari and his government now. Never take their first word or policy to bank.... stay calm there will be a second one or rebuttal of the first only can you take them for their work #PolicyUnpadding

Na today? Nigeria will meet the requirements jaaare and as usual, the monies will be spent on projects such as National Assembly, Foreign Travels etc ......shebi na to benefit the people naaaa

Greyworld:
Switzerland has given conditions for repatriating $321m looted fund to Nigeria.

Part of the conditions is that the fund will be used for projects that will benefit Nigerians and they (the projects) must be monitored by the World Bank.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama said that the government was working on the modalities for the repatriation.

Speaking shortly after holding a meeting with the Swiss Foreign Minister, Didier Burkhalter, on Tuesday in Abuja, Onyeama explained that Nigeria had signed an agreement with the Swiss government in the area of human right and migration.

He said, “It is $321m that we are looking at repatriating to Nigeria and the modalities are basically legal framework for that, mutual legal assistance framework that we are trying to put in place and there are pre-conditions that are also in place already and this requires monitoring mechanism.

“So, we have to agree beforehand as a pre-condition on what the money would be used for and the World Bank would be part of the monitoring process to ensure that the money is used for the benefit of Nigerian people.”

The Minister stated that Burkhalter’s visit was significant as it marked the commencement of the fund repatriation process, noting that other looted funds may be discovered in hidden accounts in Swiss banks.

Burkhalter said his country and Nigeria have a very constructive relation, adding that Switzerland planned to open a consulate in Lagos that would boost economic relations between the two countries.

He said his country would repatriate $321mn to Nigeria and pledged Switzerland’s continued assistance to IDPs in the country.

“We would continue to help in the humanitarian assistance in the North, for those who are suffering and we would try to write another chapter of the history of illicit asset recovery and restitutions from Switzerland to Nigeria,” Burkhalter said.

Just perception really if only Nigerian lecturers can do away with ASUU and focus on what they need to do. Then government needs to work on the school's infrastructure. It's in so deplorable state that private secondary schools now rate higher than the nest Federal University in terms of infrastructure.

Wow.. It's Nice To Know You School Abroad. How Would You Liken Schooling Over There To Doing Same In Nigeria? Just Curious

I wonder how much the man was paid salary to have been able to afford all these <assuming he's being witch hunted>

In addition, I would like to add the following

1. Encourage the use of seat belts ....only God can tell if the late minister or his family members had theirs on. The driver and PA survived most likely due to the seat belts and airbags in front

2. FRSC ensure a strict and thorough auditing of drivers in this country for their knowledge of driving under pressure or extreme condition.

3. FRSC should endeavor to regulate and enforce speed limits in this country

4. FRSC should be stationed on most roads to test for drivers driving under the influence (Especially on Lekki Axis) no weekend passes without one or two vehicles involved in some form of accidents.

1. Burst tire happens even on smooth roads. As much as I agree that we need to fix our roads, we also need to look into the proliferation of made in China tyres and fake tyres as well. As I type, there are a lot of them in our market ever since the Federal government banned the importation of second hand tyres. These Tyres are called China tyres and even the sellers would tell you they are of a lesser quality to the other top brand tyres.

Also, our commuters need to also develop the habit of carrying out regular checks on their cars and tyres especially before a road trip.

Another thing is to control the speed being plyed on our highways. I remember an over loaded Honda CR-V (3 at the back, 2 in front plus driver) doing speeds in excess of 160 on the bad portion of the Lagos - Benin expressway. I kept wondering what would happen if they had a Tyre blow out..

2. This was an interstate highway not a city limit highway. Even in the U.S and other developed countries, Paramedics dont just sit on the interstate waiting.

The leaves were a stop gap measure pending the arrival of the Police and other emergency responders.

3. That hospital must have been a private (small practice) hospital not capable of handling such an emergency. That said, we still need to fix our general hospitals too.

Ambulances as well and Ambulance attendants abroad can carry out small surgeries inside the Ambulance even before you arrive the hospital, but in Nigeria, ambulances are just for transportation.

What I would add to your third paragraph would be Air Medevac. Infact, all our emergency responders (Police, Ambulance and maybe even the Fire Service) should have an active Air wing to carry out faster evacuations in emergency situations. Our General Hospitals should also be equipped with Helipads to accommodate these Helos as well.

Generally speaking, our Lacadesical approach in this country to everything has got to change. [/b]

Nice. I hope he's able to graduate

Nairalanders help me praise this awesome God for his mercy towards me!

yesterday...been Saturday,I planned to travel to anambra state university igbariam! to know how everything is going on there concerning jamb!... and to know how much it will cost me when I finally will be going there on 11th to sit for my jamb!....

I boarded a bus that morning by 11am....d bus zoomed off by 11:15...buh as we were moving, the driver was driving with reckless abandon!...he almost hit a car twice!...and after shouting at him,he cooled down then after some minutes,he starts his reckless driving!....I was very much afraid,so I decided to step down!....buh d conductor refused to refund my money,so this discouraged others that are willing to step down from stepping down!...

when I came down,I stood by d roadside...was difficult to get another bus cos most of d buses that passed bye was filled up!....but I patiently waited for about 30 minutes!....then finally I saw a bus DAT was half filled and boarded it and glory be to God he was an aged man and he drives slowly!...at least my heart was finally at peace!

then on our way....u can't believe wat I saw!..I saw the bus I boarded at first been involved in an accident with a golf!...it was really an eye sore!...most of the passengers there were injured...I was really shocked!...cries and shouts of pain....I felt pity and cried!....I was unable to take picture cos I did not have the heart!...in fact I was seriously weak!....buh all the same I thank God for no life was lost... wishing them a safe recovery!!!what if I was involved,I might miss this year's jamb!.....

lesson learnt!:please do step down when you notice you just boarded a reckless driver's bus!....LIFE IS PRECIOUS!!!

PS:..unfortunately there was no jamb conducted in the school yesterday!
