Ihedinobi: Actually this is completely true. And the fact that believers also fail at it does not make it any less true. It just makes it tragic. What marriage is, in reality, is a grafting of two living plants to make them one. The unbeliever is by definition dead, the believer is very much living. When two believers agree to share their lives and seek the blessing of the Lord and His Church in this regard, true marriage happens. This kind of marriage is in the truest sense unbreakable and irrevocable as far as the Lord is concerned. Even divorce does not break it. This is because it is first spiritual and then material. So what about marriages before christianity. I wanted to laugh at this post until I realized you were serious. |
shymexx: Err...if you factor the massive oil reserve in California into the equation, then the country should stay afloat, if it can stop fighting meaningless wars everywhere. I believe the only way it's way going to sink is if world war 3 happens - wars sink civilisations. Another country has to go and get it, they don't hand it out on a platter of gold.If previous empires could predict what would sink them, they would have stopped it before it grew big enough to take them out. All the reasons you have mentioned make sense, and that is the problem. There is a lot more to physical happenings that originates spiritually. Which is why every empire will fall eventually, and never in the way they would like. Events like Trayvon Martin's murder are dangerous, because the whole nation witnessed the injustice and can therefore be held responsible based on their next course of action. These are the kinds of crimes that count against nations spiritually |
True to your name abi? Resurrecting dead threads |
A-40:You cant underestimate playoff experience. If Garnett stays fresh into the playoffs, these guys will beat at least one team they are not supposed to beat |
“This derives naturally from the saying that when two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers.”LOL. So shes an elephant now. |
If Bakare wasnt a pastor, I swear he would make a perfect tout ![]() |
I cant wait to see how the nets do this year. The only reason the Bulls beat a more talented Nets was mental toughness. I dont see that lapse happening with Garnett on the team. Plus Pierce is still legit and he now has a scoring big man in Lopez |
i dont see why you think Soyinka vs Patience is an igbo yoruba thing. One weird thing is seeing Fasheun next to Mustapha. Or were my eyes deceiving me? |
31 yrs old and you dont know how to use paragraphs. I ought to flog you |
dasparrow: Did you not read the part of the article where it clearly stated that she has been trying to meet her father since 2003 but to no avail. Each time she made an attempt, the Mandela family or the security guards stopped her. You behave as if you don't know the way things work in Africa. Children born out of wedlock are rarely acknowledged by the man's family and this is especially so if he is already married with kids. The has to be orders from Mandela. If Mandela wanted to meet her, he would have by now. He was still health 10 years ago.I'm doubting her story |
bobthebuilder99:nonsense. Have you ever seen an igbo man leave the neighorhood because a middle class yoruba man just moved a few houses down the street? Or police selectively collecting bribe from one ethnic group? Even the crappiest Nigerian federal cabinet fully represents national character. Google what racism is and stop embarrassing yourself. |
Much props to TD Jakes - he actually took today's worship service to discuss this. http://www.tdjakes.org/echurch/index.php You can catch a rebroadcast anytime after Sunday night... i think |
lmao how did i ever miss this |
toshmann: If you are black and successful in America, be very very very careful. They will want to bring you down. Just that african Americans don't seem to understand the situation. They do understand. Better than you do in fact. The fist batch of activists, the MLKs and Malcolm Xs got assassinated or exiled. The next generation, the Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons got profiled by the FBI and were forced to compromise (Sharpton is an rumored informant). The following generation that tried to get into politics are all in jail - Kwame Kilpatrick, Jesse Jackson Jr and tons of others you will not hear about. Not to mention the CIA under Reagan actually waging clandestine war on local black communities and giving rise to the fatherless families we see today. Yeah, they understand whats up. Oh, and funny enough, Obama actually idolizes Reagan. But thats a story for another thread. |
ogugua88: Casey was as guilty as Zimmerman. The two of them got off for what? I hate law in general. No one can pay me enough money to be a defense lawyer. Circumstantial evidence my foot.Yup she was guilty. I just dont think these two are same thing. Florida has been plotting this stand-your-ground thing for a while and there are serious racial overotnes that cannot be ignored. Every black person that has tries to claim stand-your-ground has gone to jail. Even the black woman in Florida trying to stop a man from molesting her. Adding Casey Anthony to the mix distracts from the issue here, imo. Im not trying to detract from the thread with arguments, so ima let it be. This is some f'd up ish. I cant even imagine how the mom must feel. ![]() |
Roland17: There is no way you are going to convince anyone Racial profiling is not consistent with this case.As soon as I saw the jury, I knew what the verdict was and why. They had that shamed, stressed look where they cant make eye contact. I had no idea Florida was swimming with bigots. |
ogugua88: That's Florida and our weird judicial system for ya. This reminds me of Casey Anthony.Umm, lets not even go there. I dont see the comparison at all. I know people want to circle around the facts here because its painful, but its either we acknowledge the race issue here or wait until the dude being kieeled is your brother, or mother etc. RIP Trayvon, another victim of a racist Florida judicial system |
khiaa: What makes you think I am a troll? Well I am not, I'm just giving Igbo2011 a taste of his own medicine. He came to this thread spewing his hatetred, ignorance and jealousie calling people slaves and shyt. That was not called for.Ok. I'll bow out of your thread with apologies then. I just think there are better things to waste energy on than abusing others, wether it was you igbo2011 that started it first. There are more worrisome issues like this: http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/13/justice/zimmerman-trial/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 |
dear God...man i hope this picture is fake. |
Sloan: When will Nigerians put Nigeria out of its current baffles? When will a patriotic Nigerian lead the deletion of this scums from our country? Retardeen, retardeeness and all this useless pieces of garbage should be completely deleted from our space physically and literally! Now you see why people still want an 80 year old Buhari. He is the only one that fits the bill |
somalia11: yes niggggerlol. fail thread |
naima0 is that you? smh |
magaliyu: i pity this woman and her husband,no leave her. She and her yam head husband will leave office back into obscurity one day. |
igbo2011: Slaves blame ancesootrs for slavery and forgive their masters like the slaves they are.i cant believe you are wasting your energy on an obvious troll |
A-40:If Buss were still alive, I think there is a really good chance Howard would still be a Laker. The coach, GM and new owner do not look like they are on the same page. Even Kobe senses this, based on his refusal to take a paycut A healthy Bynum is actually as good as if not better than Dwight Howard the question is is he ever healthy? And more importantly is he motivated!Bynum will never amount to anything. He never really had motivation. He played hard cuz Kobe always dogged him. |
^anyways she is still hot. I wonder why she kept the last guys surname |
Yield: Shymexx, she isn't advocating singleness. She's saying "Pursue relationships when you're truly ready and when you do, be careful of who you choose". She was obviously reflecting on her own experiences as a young girl and was trying to pass on her lessons to young people seeking relationships, especially to those who jump into relationships too quickly, too soon - when they haven't developed a relationship with themselves first.I listened to her give an indepth interview sometime back, and she kinda explained some of her views. Her advice sounds good until you realize she had 3 marriages, the last to the famous Ahmad Rashad which also ended in divorce. Because of her moral upbringing. I think she feels a certain anger about being the woman she would love to hate...the serial divorcee. Her advice is a reaction to this hate. She thinks by moving towards the other extreme, finding love late, she could have avoided the above. Maybe, but then there are no guarantees this will work either. You are more likely to become that old, educated, well-traveled spinster with lots of missed chances for a relationship. Its already slim pickings for good men out there. Why would you turn down a legit chance at romance if you met the right guy? |
And Artest falls. Waived this evening. Any chance he could end back up in Hpuston? |
^Yeah, I have to disagree with her this one time. Ive heard her give a full interview before. I believe she is over-thinking the past. The above sounds really good, but its bad advice imo. |
this is what happens when you have a weak president. Will Ijo try this under OBJ or Buhari? |
kael: Chidi Lloyd should be arrested HO HA. It shouldn't even be up for discussion. His actions simply shows that he has no regard for the law he has sworn to protect and defend. As long as the original 5 who started the violence are also arrested |
