panafrican: Too bad ! why not apply in the United states , Canada, Africa, China or the middle East ?lol. you think he is the only one who wants to work at fermilab? The dude should have kept his call center job. At least he is on the inside of a company and has a leg up whenever a position for his talent opens up. |
igbo2011: Why did he choose California?the igbo population and organization in LA is impressive. If he was going to choose a place, it would have to be Cali. |
thoth: Somebody is there with them instigating them, setting them up for conferences, linking them with "very important" people to give credence and legitimacy to their views. the catch is that "SOMEBODY" is not assisting them, listening to them, arranging meeting with VIPs and MEDIA for them because he truly believes what they have to say, or he cares about Nigeria rather it is his/her job to accomplish that, to recreate the voice of the people or in simple terms to transform the voice of one man to the voice of the people. To misrepresent the nation and its intentions.this makes the most sense. I dont know if you saw Adichie's TED talk on feminism sometime back. I couldnt help but think she was in the same situation like Oritsejafor. I think they both instinctively realize that certain things they say will increase their audience with important Americans. I'm not sure they fully understand how they are being used. |
AjanleKoko: I am curious to know if anyone has a perspective of young Asians in the UK.I dont know about UK, but for US, the major thing they do different is stick together. I have to give it to them - they come into the country and immediately understand the system. So while the bulk of Nigerians are immediately trying to fend for themselves individually, the bulk of asians, wether south or far east form tight knit communities. Not just around church like we do, but they build banks and trade unions and find a way to tie their temples/religion into the whole thing. And when little china gets big enough, it starts to have a say in who runs for mayor in the city. Plus since they now have financial wealth, they can even sponsor the next police commissioner for their district into office. All this buys them a safe haven. Sure they still experience oppression, but now they are like "Nigerians in Nigeria." Meaning even if the environment is bad, you have a "home base" you can retreat to and raise your child. By the third generation, they have enough to start branching out into society as equals, not wards of the state. Even the ones that branch out are trained to always keep a link to that home base. At the third generation, a "Nigerian" child is essentially American, for good or bad. We wade enthusiastically into American society, look down on AAs, not realizing we are looking at our own future. |
toshmann: America remains one of the best places to live and work. One just has to be careful an calm down to identify te opportunities that exist and use them to achieve one's objective.I agree mostly except for the distractions. Unless you plan on going from work home everyday and never going anywhere else, there is a fair chance you will find yourself in hairy situations. And its not going to be where/when you expect it. Trayvon was just going to buy soda and sweets. There is no way he thought this act would end his life. And even if you dot your i's and cross your t's, you will have young adults in your household one day, and they will be more carefree than you. |
Do these idiots know what they are asking for? When BH gets blacklisted, the whole country goes with it. Anybody traveling from or through Nigeria will now automatically be on a blacklist, like Pakistan. They dont care about North/South. Its all Nigeria as far as they are concerned. And all that easy money transfer from folks abroad will trickle to a drop, because the onus will be on you to prove you arent sending money to BH. Why do we have buffoons in every sphere of leadership. Even in church. Na wa o. |
Giving up at 31? You have funds to pay rent and feed yourself and you still jump off a building...maaan... RIP |
rabzy01: It is a shame how people who claim to be educated, learned and civilized cant even have the time to read and understand the provisions of the constitution. Why did the senators vote along regional lines then? Only 2 southern senators voted for this bill. If it was so innocent, why didnt more southerners vote for your "civilized" bill. |
Isnt GEJ the ultimate enforcer of the law? Why is Yerima not in jail? This guy withdraws policemen from governors at will but will not stand up to a senator. |
Pukkah: Fasehun is acting alone. He himself said so. He claims to be protecting the interest of Yorubas but he didn't confide or enjoy the support of any Yoruba leader in his trip to Kano. This is suspect. He may not be acting with Yoruba support, but I doubt he is acting alone. I recall FFK also wrote an article not too long ago trying to exonerate Al Mustapha and place the blame elsewhere. So its obvious there are some machinations in the background that we aren't privy to. The fact that Soyinka, Bakare and a few others havent spoken out on this means they probably dont know whats going on either. This is very likely a GEJ originated strategy. I dont think we should care what Fasehun's motivations are though. I understand politics is dirty but a leader's actions must at least be transparent to his followers. Even Tinubu's agenda is obvious regardless of the means he uses. Lets all be happy Fasehun has revealed himself - we know who to watch come 2015 |

Antivirus92: The day nature will allow like charges(of magnets or electricity) to attract is the day i will turn to gay. For now, nature(GOD) is still ruling me.I think this is a big concept people often miss. "God" to some people is more than just "sky daddy". Being "Godly" also involves working in a way that promotes nature, not works against it. So Denise216 can flippantly dismiss the idea of childbirth, since we have too many already, and can churn out what we need with test tube babies anyways. A Godly person, by African standards at least, would see this as a perversion of purpose, and therefore wrong and "ungodly". I put "God" in quotes, because when people use the word, they mean different things. To a good number of people, it means some Zeus like sky daddy. This is not always the case, and could be confusing in a thread like this |

^I dont agree with half of thoth's 10 points, but there are at least 3 points he makes that have nothing to do with interracial marriage. Im pretty sure mixed couples can have babies. |
Ihedinobi: Lol. I'm yet to hear what challenges you mean. Funny thing is that when you reopened this conversation with me I'd forgotten that I'd already answered the question that you were repeating.Translation: I'm going to wallow in my own bs regardless of what the bible actually says. Ok. |
Fasehun is now calling Al Mustapha his own son whereas he has never shown the world hisits like film trick, right before my eyes. Talk about agbaya didirin |

I hate the fact that Detroit has an anti-demicratic manager,, but I honestly dont trust Detroit ladership to get anything done. Here is a redux for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpzRuB-YMpg |
4 Play: Nothing surprising. Just look at this forum which is used by a demographic more educated than the average Nigerian. The forum is marked by an obsession with promoting ethnic division and personality clashes between rival corrupt politicians. There's a 2 dozen or so recycled posters who have time to waste on ethnic crap. And half of them are pretenders. I dont see how you can draw that conclusion based on nairaland's total population. |
Katsumoto: Tread softly shymexx; the pope doesn't condone it and it is not part of Roman Catholic doctrine. It is crime committed by a very small minority.Tread softly how. Instead of firing the priests, they move them to new unsuspecting congregations where they can prey on more kids. Or do you have a different definition for condone. Shymex is on the money. Sorry, I find it hard to not throw a well deserved jab at the catholic church whenever I can. |
Ihedinobi: What in the world is he talking about?keep faking ignorance. I like how you just "forget" any challenges to this bs you keep talking about |
harlos: 86 hearts can't love you the way my single heart doeslol wut? |
Speaking of black mismanagement, this is how black folk ran themselves into the ground in Detroit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpzRuB-YMpg |
m.k.o2005:you are over thinking marriage. The primary reason a man and woman get together is for procreation. Marriage is a man-made institution to legitimize what God ordained in the eyes of the state. Without marriage, you would still have man-woman unions, because they are about giving birth to new life, not some bullsh** some pastor made up to make you feel good. So to you answer you indirectly, you should be asking if there were unions giving birth to new life before Adam and Eve instead. Marriage is a cultural, man-made term that can mean anything you want. Heck, in some cultures, same sexe marriage is legit ![]() Ihedinobi: @shdemidemithat what I thought. In the face of factual biblical evidence, you prefer making up feel good stories to justify your belief. with thousands of people who prefer entertainment to reality, its little wonder being a pastor can be so lucrative. |
Horus: This is what will hapen to America, Bankruptcy!I doubt it. As long as you have fiat money, you can inflate away trillions if you have the will |

m.k.o2005: Ihedinobi: ^^ Is that right? Wasn't the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world? So you are saying christianity was before the foundation of the world? Ok now. Was Boaz a Christian? How about Noah? Were any of the husband/wife couples in the old testament christians? Ihedinobi, before you answer, consider you also said this: When two believers agree to share their lives and seek the blessing of the Lord and His Church in this regard, true marriage happens. You have tied church to true marriage. Feel free to tie up your theology in knots for us as you explain how the "firstborn from the dead" had church members before his death |
thanks for posting this in a nest of Lebron haters ![]() |
tsmack: In case you don’t know, Harvard is not about money. It is about ability!Umm no, its mostly about money. A few get in because of ability and special circumstances, but Yale, Harvard etc are where the elite send their kids. Do I need to remind you of an affable chap that "C"ed his way through Yale and still became president? The whole family going to Harvard is an achievement but that is none of my business. How does this give Iweala the right to plunge us back into debt? Even the bible says the lender will always be the master of the borrower. |
thoth: The North has a reputation and an image which the press uses as tool to promote their dis-information campaign, imagine if Buhari's election was rigged, what options has he? he goes to court and the bribed judges now rules against him. Thanks for being honest. He opens the door to this kind of ridicule. I know Buhari is a honest, austere disciplinarian. But this is politics in a democratic state. He needs to open up more - elections are a partly a popularity contest |
A-40:thats where the fun is... |
