FamilyRe: Can Men's Libido Be Controlled by birdman(m): 3:23am On Aug 22, 2013
It can be controlled no doubt, but sometimes, under the right amount of stress, your primitive urge to reproduce will probably overwhelm your logical self. Better to do like the biblical Joseph and flee all appearances... tongue

byvan: If they are so animalistic, why don't they jump on their mum's because they are so Hot?Bottomline,we all have the ability to control intimate urges, therefore, unfaithfulness should not be shrouded in ridiculous excuses.
Reproducing with your mom or close relative leads to weak offspring that die easy, so your primitive mind has learned not to get turned on by family. If you dont want your man jumping around, handle your business. Your eyes were open when you married him. If you dont handle the business, someone else will. Same goes for men by the way

yhemster: Am very happy you mentioned OPPORTUNITY, and an example on that is the riches man in African. Do you think Dangote will be as success as he is today if he never get the inheritance he received from his grandfather (Dantata). It always very sad when I see African think like a white man, for ur information we are not the same, we live in different part of the world with different problems. In the Western world, raising resources for business and investment is easier than it is in Africa. Leaving inheritance for the kids should not be done on the idea that they are entitled but it can be given as a gift to them to ease their future.

And for your information, Abraham gave all his wealth to his son Isaac.
People are misunderstanding these billionaires. These guys lavish their kids and extended families with cars, vacations etc all the time. They aren't cutting off their kids - just making sure they dont get so much money that they dont develop skills necessary to perpetuate wealth. You best believe Warren Buffet etc has hooked his family into all types of business deals that will probably last another 2 generations.

Nashville: OP, I will pretend as if you are the one just to make my advice more interesting even though I know you got it from somewhere else.

Your post was really funny. You have a problem with your attitude and that has scared away all the good guys. Now you have found for yourself a man you can bully and cannot stand up to you. Unfortunately you do not respect this man neither do I think you will respect him after marriage. You have just found a man that can put up with your bad attitude and wouldn't complain. He is not complaining now because he probably never believed he could get a girl half as good looking and may be classy as you so he is managing the insults. A man is meant to be the head of the home, I see you would rather be the head of your own home.

I am not sure you both love each other. It may just be a marriage of convenience and your true feelings towards each other will show after marriage. You will continue to disrespect him and he would not take it forever. His people sef will not like you and your family may also treat him anyhow. If I were you, I will change my ways and become a real wife material. Seal that sharp tongue of your and stop throwing tantrums. This is my 2 cents and with the little you have written about yourself, I expect lots of insults from you. Oya start abusing me!
just what i was thinking. any man that lets your friends ridicule him in front of your continuously is a red flag. He is in it to hit it shymexx style grin

nerodenero: The deportation saga leading to the faceoff between Yorubas and Igbos seem to have no ending as this has lead to increase ethnic bashing and hatred. It is high time FG swings into action to nip the crisis in the bud. The earlier the better.
If GEJ is perceived to support any side, he will be losing the other side's support for sure come election time. Of course, he could give a political speech filled with nonsensical soothsaying to calm nerves and appear presidential, which would be in his favor. But I dont think he has the intellectual capacity to do so grin

PoliticsRe: Who Is The Most Afrocentric Poster On Nairaland? by birdman(m): 1:12am On Aug 14, 2013
igbo2011: Every single thing I do in my life is for the benefit of the Pan Aferican ommnity. The reason I get up is to make ifference. I go to school to make a diferene. Every ay I think of ways to make a difference. I made a site www.africanedp.com to promote our economies. My facebok page is gaining popularity www.facebook.com/africanedp
Makes me wonder - is it really possibly to separate afrocentrism from pan-africanism in the real world? I know there are good ivory tower definitions for both words, but I think in practice, in the face of the reality of racism and slavery, you cant be one without the other.

eGuerrilla: @igbo2011,
I posed my earlier question because, I think, Afrocentricity, much like Pan-Africanism, poses a particular challenge for Africans on the continent. As both ideals bring into sharp focus a material reality of unresolved chasms (take a look at some of the busiest discussion threads these past few days), what most adherents manage can best be described as a "fudge" which has more in common with Senghor's negritude movement and Mobutu's Africanization program.
In a sense, this strain of Afrocentricity - if one can call it that - does not stand on its own merits.
why not? I see existential flaws in classic negritude, but I dont see how being on the defensive is a bad thing. I cant see how the alternative, to not react, would be any better
PoliticsRe: The Lagos Deportation And The Law, By Femi Falana by birdman(m): 4:34am On Aug 13, 2013
Mighty Sparrow: You should be patient while reading contributions or topics on NL or else I recommend you for the next batch of deporrtees on NL.
Having said that, I think the action of Fashola is both legally and morally wrong. This write - up is an eye- opener to the war the rich - thieves wage on innocent, honest nigerians marooned to poverty island.
However, I can't stop wondering why a part of nigeria make begging a religious duty, a trade initiated into as Alimajiris teaching innocent children the act of laziness and poor self worth. This stupid religious practice, has ill - affected part of yorubaland where islam is predominant. I have never seen an igbo man begging, from one street to another (may be I have not travelled far enough to see one). Igbo people are hard-working home and abroad.
I would like Femi Falana and other human right activists to rise up, as usual to go a step further by taking a legal action against Fasola and his evil cohorts. Any nigerian should live, work, and fare freely in any part of the country as spelt out by law. We do not want an elitist Boko Haram in yorubaland. Rauf aregbesola and Ishaq Ajimobi themselves muslims should emulate their Ondo and Ekiti counterparts to start re - orietating their citizens on the issue of street begging.
Fashola's actions may be morally wrong, but he will win in any court of law. Like many Nigerians, you live under the illusion of what you think the constitution offers you, as opposed to what it actually says. There is a reason the FG tags you by your state of origin, regardless of where you were born. Its also the reason I am not generally a fan of the Nigerian project, becasue if you start to read through its documents, you realize it not a real entity, just a noble idea we are trying to make work.

As for Falana, I respect him, but this article was laughable. He got "deported" to Kuje? Thats like saying I got deported to Calabar to do my NYSC. This is overabuse of the word, and it just means Falana assumes his reader's intelligence cannot sift through this trickery. Whats next - parents deporting their children to universities in other states?

But unlike its counterparts the Lagos state government has devised effective strategies to compel the rich to pay taxes through their noses. In addition the monthly statutory allocation of the state from the federation account is partly based on its population. In the circumstance, the Lagos state government should take from the rich to service the poor.
Spoken like a true "activist". Proclaim some bird brained ideal, and leave it to administrators to work it out

3ace: This baba at over 80 years. What are they still looking for. He's part of the generation that ruined this country. GEJ at the moment has not really impressed but criticism shouldn't be coming from someone like Akande. When he was the governor of Osun State, what did he do. All of them should just go and sit down somewhere joor.
And what has GEJ done to unruin the country. From having zero debt to being on the brink of bankruptcy this dude is looting the treasury like its his otuoke farm.
PoliticsRe: Who Is The Most Afrocentric Poster On Nairaland? by birdman(m): 2:20am On Aug 13, 2013

I stumbled across this in the 11th edition of Merriam-Webster's collegiate dictionary a while back and I shook my head.
haha. I just had a run-through about this with another nairalander. There are some things you shouldn't be looking to the dictionary to get a definition for. you already know its going to be a pile of *u know what*
PoliticsRe: Who Is The Most Afrocentric Poster On Nairaland? by birdman(m): 2:17am On Aug 13, 2013
ShymX: Pan-Africanism is a different ideology entirely. Pan-Africanism deals with Africans seeing themselves as a single people. However, Afrocentricism deals with having an African mind and discussing issues from an African point-of-view, using African culture/history/traditions.
I dont know any pan-africanist that actually believes all Africans are a single people. Different pan-africanists also have different causes. The only thing generic to pan-africanism would be the idea of a shared responsibility towards liberation from outside oppression. In any case, pan-african or afrocentric, its clearly Horus imo

thoth: The two black men i drank with yesterday might not be a negro according to your Anthropological classifications, One was extremely fair with straight nose, jaw and yellowish brown eyes while the other one was thin and looked Caucasian in every way except that he was dark skinned. the Fair one was an Igbo from Imo state and the other one From Papua near Australia and an Aborigine. Nobody ever differentiated us, we were called Negros and that is the truth, the Aborigine man sees himself as a Negro, came to Meetings for Negros, was part of Negro Organizations and talks like a Negro. That is reality.
Well put. Dr stranglehold, carry on in your "genetic reality"
CultureRe: Did West Africans Reach The New World? Afrocentric Fantasy Or A New Beginning? by birdman(m): 6:14am On Aug 10, 2013
KidStranglehold: Fool you're the one playing the semantics. Why the heck are you comparing scientific anthropology to what a racist robberhuh That just shows you are clueless on this subject. Did the racist robber an anthropologist? Did he/she study geneticshuh No. It doesn't matter what you or a racist thinks, race is NOT genetically defined. Now stop with this Afrocentrics cr*p. If race is genetically defined then why do

If race is genetically defined then why do people like the Australian Aboriginals cluster farthest from Africans?
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/49/Neighbor-joining_Tree.svg/725px-Neighbor-joining_Tree.svg.png

Race is ONLY based on the groupings of certain phenotypes.

Again his views are not accepted by most people for obvious. One against all...Who wins? And I don't care if Jewish people do not want equality.

Umm...In the video Sertima doesn't actually state the original Americans were African.

I don't care what you're falling for because you're wrong. Most of yours and Horus credible research was debunked which you and him continue to be denial about. I already proved with an genetic chart that race is not defined and how different races are genetically linked which you and horus of course ignored.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/49/Neighbor-joining_Tree.svg/725px-Neighbor-joining_Tree.svg.png

If race is really genetically defined then explain why almost EVERYONE on this Earth descends from African L3.

People who argue for genetically defined races do NOT agree with the OOA and do NOT agree that Africans were the first humans. If they didn't then they wouldn't disagree with the OOA> If you can't debunk that chart then your argument(like those OOA deniers) is lost.
Yawns. I understand your anger. They told you your degree implied your authority on origins and anthropology. I think, at least subconsciously, you now realize you were at least gullible not to have engaged your reasoning faculties in challenging what you were taught. You probably now realize how foolish it was to have someone else tell you what you are and are not. Dont worry, its ok to have your ego bruised every now and then. It sure needs it.

LASG would win easily. Most people dont even understand the country they live in. There is a reason the state of origin on your birth certificate is not where you are born. Shine your eyes people. Live in Lagos all your life if you want. After you write common entrance or whatever, its your father's state that will be used to determine your cut-off

If any kind of mishap happens to Amaechi, the whole house will collapse in a way that will make boko haram envious. Rivers state is a bigger concern than BH right now

KidStranglehold: No...Again in Anthropology its accepted that black is not genetically defined and neither is white. Race as a whole is not really genetically defined. Please learn more about Anthropology and then come back to men.
You still dont get my point. I dont care that its genetically defined or not. Becasue I know you can play semantic games all day. Your genetic definition is not the sum of all truth. What does genetic definition do for you when someone is robbing you and ravaging your loved ones in front of you based your skin color. Tell them its not genetically right?

Neither David Imhotep or Ivan Van Seritma are Anthropologist. And Ivan never even said the first Americans were African, he just said they influenced the Meso-American people. Seriously people always post him out of context. And Wiercinski's claims are not even accepted by most by the vast majority of Mesoamerican scholars....
Well, a few folks at Harvard had issues with him, even though he produced the skeletal remains that they requested was needed to look at his point of view. Like the Jewish scholars who cant accept the equality of ethiopian Jews because it doesnt fit into their world view, we all know the motivations of why they kept moving the goal post on Wiercinski

As far as van Sertima is concerned, you are the one mis quoting him - listen to this carefully

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FqbXLgIXx0

Nobody is close minded and nobody is trying to act like an expert. You're just not getting the point. You're the one that does not understand that race is not that defined. Africans are closer to Europeans than Australian Aboriginals is because they actually had constant gene flow between the two ever since the Neolithic. There were actually Africans in Europe during the neolithic. Both Africans and Near easterners influenced the European people during the neolithic whether it be cattle, agriculture, etc. I'll would post the paper, but too lazy. Europe has been populated by different people like India. There basically mixed...Pacific Islanders on the other hand have been ISOLATED from Africans...Ever since the Out of Africa. About 80-60k years!!! So of course they would be genetically distant from Africa. Just because some pacific islanders look similar to Africans do not mean they are related.

Like I said if Australian Aborigines or the indigenous Malaysians truly do have African ancestry then please post me a an actually peer reviewed study that actually states they carry African genes or haplogroup. I'll patiently wait.
Dont muddy the waters and shift the goal posts bro. I'm not falling for that ish. I have listed credible research that is at least on par with your point of view. You keep saying race is not defined. Maybe you can prove it genetically, but just remember to come down from that high into reality.
