I come from a family of 7, we are all graduates except the first son who is into business. The second son is very very rich,he works with a big multinational company.

When we were growing up he hardly play with us the younger ones but he was close to the first son. But he totally changed after he got married 15years ago. Though our parents did not initially support his marriage because of the girls background (her father died and the mum went back to her house with the daughter) and her character too. My brother got angry and said nobody should visit him or ask him for money. He used to help us in school.

Later my parents accepted and gave their support but since then my brothers attitude towards us really changed. Each time I visit him , he does not give me money in the presence of the wife. Also he usually give me money to go and eat outside because she hardly cook(maybe cos of the initial rejection)

The way he talks to the first son is degrading and he hardly pick our calls. The first son business is not moving at all but he does not care though he has given him money and car some years back and they don't talk to each other again. On several occasions people have told the third son why his brother refused to help his family. They said he helps people alot in the multinational company and he is a very nice guy.

Please what do we do? I don't want this separation to continue till death.. Our children are watching and I want us to relate as brothers and sisters.

Good afternoon, everyone.

I'm facing a challenge that I've been racking my brain to find a solution, but I still don't know what to do. I will be happy to get some help here.

I got admission into a Federal Polytechnic in 2014, and started the programme with so much excitement. I was told that the school was tough for students, especially for those in my department, so I was ready for whatever would come my way.

During the 2-year degree, I put in efforts and was one of the best students in the department. Most of the lecturers knew me as one that always scored high marks in their tests and departments. It's important I state this.

The problem came during my final semester when my project supervisor started making demands for financial settlement. I was very low on cash that period and didn't even want to give it cos I felt I could get a decent result with my efforts, so I confided in a lecturer friend who took it upon himself to talk to his fellow lecturer.

When he approached my supervisor on a one-to-one basis, my supervisor flared up, denying ever making such a request. He eventually declined to be my supervisor, and reported the matter to the HOD.

Now, the thing is, my HOD came from the same region as that my supervisor and that already made things difficult because of the sentiments. I was summoned and made to apologise to the supervisor. It took a lot of begging to get him to be my supervisor again as the HOD refused transferring me to any other lecturer for supervision. It was either that lecturer or no one else.

I finally did all that had to be done and left school, awaiting my final results. When it was released, that lecturer gave me Ds in his two courses and gave me D in project. Most of my classmates couldn't believe it cos I usually topped the class. Even though I would have hit distinction if I was given the grades I deserved, my final CGPA when it was checked was 3.29.

Now, here is the issue. I've been trying to collect my result so I can further my education but all efforts have proved abortive. The first shocker is that my result suddenly could not be found in the department. That was strange because the implication there is that I never graduated.

Someone decided to help me check from the Polytechnic's Admin complex and my result was also no where to be found. It means my result was never transmitted to the Exam and Records office from my department.

Now, I'm getting asked if I ever attended school. All indicators keep pointing to that lecturer and the HOD as thos behind my ordeal. I'm even shocked at how far people can go to ruin other people just because they wouldn't bend to their desires. That's two years of my life that's about to be wiped off!!!

I need advice on what to do. Some people are asking that I should let it go but I have decided to fight this matter from all possible fronts. Funny thing now is that, I'm about to forfeit an admission I got this year because I can't get my ND results. I need help, please.

From your post it appears you did not even get a copy of your statement of results due to the disappearing of your results from your department.....

This matter is a little bit on the difficult side.......
And it can be no issue If you can do the below suggestion....
If you can still talk to that your lecturer friend of yours to assist you in getting some of your results from lecturers he is close to. Certainly your raw results on their results sheet is still available some where with them. And your exams and record office will still have your results in your department except they are trying to say they never inputted your name/column on the raw results sheets where you have names of fellow students.

As far as supplies of such goes, I don't vouch for anyone even if we've been dealing for ages and when the monies are coming from a client. If its my personal money I have a limit to what I can allow.

Anyways down where I deal the seller is supposed to use his/her funds to source for the material and gets paid once delivery is made, even if its midnite. This method only stands logically for maximum of 60 tons of granite to be supplied at once.

I hope he clears himself off this issue without prolonging the issue.

There are no certain specifics as to the measurement in SQM due to land availability and shape. Only inform the seller what you want and it will be marked out for you and you can use your surveyor to do the needful.
Depending on your location that size should be around 680sqm for areas using 50×100ft and more for areas using 60×120ft.

So the question is this: Can i use use 6 inch Flats(hole-less blocks) to build a storey building from the foundation to the decking level? will those blocks works or i need 9 inch blocks all through? The builder said 6 inches hole-less blocks will work. I need expert suggestions please.

If you can control the flow of water easily out of your land then please do. But it may create unforseen problems for you in the future if climate changes occur significantly.

Ensure you use a good 9" hollow block on your substructure/foundation. Please do your foundation works properly without cutting corners. Also make sure your foundation height(DPC) is by 2+ course higher than your surrounding buildings where they channel water into your land.
When you're ready for landscaping make sure yours is also higher than your neighbours too. That way you have secured your property and your environment becomes friendly for living purposes.

Bold 2.....Your myth is green algae forming tiny roots, growing and finding their way into crevice on walls which in turn will dislodge the blocks.
Bold 3......if you are limiting it to just masonry aspects of the work, there will be no significant compromise resulting from moisture intrusion even if the delay period is 24 months.

For some time now, we have been considering a really high headroom design for an upcoming project.

If the structure is in the form of a storey building you can do 4 course(3 course+Decking beam).
If its just a ground floor structure, 3 course is okay and due to installation of POP you can run the nogging the unconventional way. If one does 4 course and runs the nogging on the wall is no different from doing 3 and running the nogging the unconventional way.

These root (no matter how small it is) later dislodge blockwall joints, allows water penetration then followed by eventually building defects e.g cracks, spalls.....

The time factor/time line stated by AyeMaDaFunMi on his originating post is in order and will not bring any defect on the structure.
The only phase he needs to limit the time between the roofing wood frame work and the installation of the roofing sheets. It's either they are both done and considered as a single phase or the time interval between both should not be more than 3 months.

I'm very glad you cautious of the integrity of these buildings elements in process of over prolonging (in phases) the construction activities. Most of building defects after commissioning are due to neglected factors such as this.

Work protection is very important in construction, substantial amount of efforts should be put into protecting works in progress otherwise resources, project integrity and value are in jeopardy.

That been said, what you need right now is a program of work, prepared by a certified builder with your cash flow duly consulted.

In addition, the break between phase 3(Its ground floor nt 1st floor) and phase 4 shouldn't be up to 12months, as your have highlighted those walls are going to be loading walls. Likewise 5&6. Anything longer than that, green growth starts to occur on ur block walls and it's bad to Finish a building with that because of aftermath defects.

Bold 1.......is a statement made by a law maker from borno who practically and literally stays in abuja. I wonder who gave him such info and how many of them legislators go or even visit their constituency if not for election time.

Bold 2.....if the guns used by the military were bought by shagari then that implies none was bought during GEJ's tenure. But I tend to believe he was referring to something else.
