Apologies for what happened back then.
As a first rule to every site I go especially where I'm not known whoever asks who is the engineer will never find him. I will always present myself as working for the engineer to receive their message on his behalf or get one of the senior artisans to stand in and never reveal my identity. I've had a couple of clients who remained anonymous even when coming to the site but always find a way to give out drinks to people around so most times I have drinks to even give some of these fellows who come around to disturb. Just a pre-measure to rub minds and cool tempers.

@bixton, building in PHC is not that expensive, it is achievable. Apart from chippings, window materials and labour all other things are almost same.p
At the bold it's spelt "Obio Akpor".
Most persons building on Sunday probably do not have their plans registered at the LGA office and proper receipts.

I have built around Mgbogba- Location axis, Ogbogoro axis, Woji axis with proper documentation all this fall under LGA.
In the instance the client wants to do a by-pass I just get in touch with one senior man that controls the area and all is sorted out.

Yes they still use periwinkle shells for flooring and small slap.
3/8 is still available. Some people with strong mind mix 3/8 with granite do decking. But for me that a very bad idea.
Using 3/8 with granite is not a strong mind to use for decking. As much as it's not an acceptable construction engineering practice to us it's one way of application of construction engineering knowledge.
In certain riverine communities where there is no bridge linkage you'll find such practice. Just imagine how much one spends using pontoon to ferry across trucks loaded with granite.

On a different scale it's like using same 3/8 to mould interlocking stones. Though there's a particular type of the 3/8 for that purpose and those who do it know the right mix to use.

Port-Harcourt pick Granite from Calabar no Quarry in PH.

Transportation cost from Calabar is over 170k for 30tons
The place he went to probably makes use of an open yard where they have cutting machines that grinds the acquired larger stones to the specified sizes. People patronize such places most especially when they want their deliveries in daylight hours. Deliveries from Calabar and Abakaliki comes mostly in the night especially those whose papers have issues and who are avoiding taskforce on the road. Except they have changed even when they get to PHC by 4pm most stop along the express especially by Oil mill junction or some other safe place till about 7pm before heading to the specific delivery site.

Please know this is someone who's been addicted to porn for more than 7 years.
Firstly what makes you think or qualifies you to be called a Christian?
Secondly there are no special kind of prayers to stop one from such. All you need to do is tell your body, soul and spirit that watching porn is evil and you have made up your mind to stop and let the urge also come to an end.
Tell God you want to stop it and every time the thought of it floods it let there be some kind of disgust that follows. That way you form a steady resistance as guard towards yours thoughts.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Christians Should Stop Publicizing The Errors Of God's Servants by bixton(m): 6:09pm On Oct 25, 2020
TundeKorede:
TELL IT NOT IN GATH, PUBLISH IT NOT in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice; lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
2 Samuel 1:20 (Emphasis’ mine)

Sequel to an ignominious death of Saul, in the hands of the uncircumcised Philistines, David maintained in his lament that a torrent of abuse should not be published about his embarrassing death.

Worthy of mention is the fact that, Saul made himself an obtrusive enemy to David whilst he was alive.

Yet David would not permit the Israelites to share the news of his shameful death in such a way that the uncircumcised Philistines would hear it and rejoice.

Needless to say, we can liken the Philistines to unbelievers, while the Israelites represent the believers of the present world.

Nowadays, believers publicly spread the news of the errors of God’s servants (even fathers of faith are not spared) with no pang of remorse.

In fact, it seems we now take delight in looking for news that are demeaning to the Body of Christ in order to share them on our social media accounts. In addition, we pounce on negative news like Piranhas.

Sadly, there are pastors who publicly ridicule and speak disparagingly about their fellow ministers who are in error, forgetting that all humans are fallible.

Hence, we expose the Body of Christ to a whole series of attacks, ridicule, and vituperation from unbelievers through our unwise disposition towards Men of God.

However, much as I denounce the idea of spreading the news of the downfall/errors of ministers of God, I wouldn’t take sides with them on the atrocities they have committed. Bishop Oyedepo once stated that, ‘‘Sin is sin no matter who is sinning.’‘ I support this truth.

Nonetheless, it is tomfoolery to assume that God’s servants are infallible. The reason why many of us are taken by surprise is that we expect too much from them.

Listen, no man is infallible! Samson fell, Saul fell, Judas fell, even Peter would have fallen beyond restoration if not for the grace of God. May God keep us from falling till the end.

Love does not take delight in sharing evil but rejoices at the truth (1 Cor 13:6). Love protects! So, protect the ministries of other believers. Do not expose them to danger and assaults.

Therefore, walk in love. If we walk in love, the restoration of those who seemed to have fallen will be of concern to us, rather than their total fall or destruction.

Let’s follow this priceless injunction of the Scriptures in Galatians 6:1, which says;

”Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such as one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”

Speak to them and if you cannot speak to them, pray for them. Let the restoration of every fallen minister be paramount to you and not their destruction.

May the Lord keep us till the end.

Please, use the comment section to express your thought below.

If one was under the law of Moses I could to an extent take your write up with a pinch of salt.
But anyone who claims to be actually a man of God should be as Christ Jesus is. If Apostle Paul could be infallible then all men of God could do same except otherwise the light within them is darkness and not the light of God.

Hi guys , please I need your help ... I have 300k and I want to start the foundation/building if my house on a dry land ,and a plot of land.. please how far can this go , what and what can I start with
I plan to build a 4bedroom bungalow with a ante room and for 2years
How many blocks , cement and all can I start with
Thanks
It's good you have decided to want to build.
Do this with your money as start up if the land is easily accessible with vehicle and you land is within a secured environment.
Start by moulding blocks on your land. Look at 2000 blocks for a start.
Look for a source of water.

It's obvious from the pictures, the access road is higher than the foundation of the building.

Moral of the story (picture), ALL foundation should be four courses high from ground level as a minimum.
4 course will probably be the minimum. This is practically what happens whenever there is flood in the area. There are places where the flood water is at the chest level. Will post pix when I can.

@bolded, what's the difference?
On average, how many bags of cement should be used for a 3.6*3.6 room?

Also, I don't get the logic behind using sharp sand instead of plastering sand.
At the bold I'll figure out a simple explanation without making it lengthy.

Average is 3 bags for that size of room. I think you should ask your engineer what mix ratio he intends to use. Better you be at the site to check the work methodology on the first day or keep a trusted eye.

I checked your profile and it reads Port Harcourt. PHC has 2 types of plastering sand-- gum and power form. The gum is mixed with soft sand(sharp sand), the other is used alone. If he intends to use only sharp sand(soft sand) probably it's not completely sharp meaning it does not have teeth enabling you to have a smooth surface after shining.

Guys please, I need help.

The engineer on my project sent this as a quote for plastering a 3 bedroom flat (all ensuite) with a visitor's toilet.

Labour
Ranging plastering
Inside plastering is #120,000. Outside plastering is #90,000. Windows dressing is #45,000.

Not Ranging plastering
To plaster all the houses is #170,000. Inside and outside. No window dressing.

Materials
Two trips of gum sand and two trips trips of shape sand and 110 bags of cement.

When I asked the difference between the two, he said in the first one they'll dress the plaster and plum it to be level. This won't be done in the second case. I can't wrap my head around plastering a house and not making sure it's level.

Secondly, I thought plastering a room takes 3 bags of cement? I did my calculations with 4 bags to be on the safe side. However, the engineer is saying each room of around 3.6*3.6m will take 5 bags using ranging method.

Experts please what's your take on this?
CnC n3xt, spyder880, saydfact, lastpage, rotecch77
Except I'm mistaken the term he ought to use is "guage plastering and range plastering".

Most people take quoted and end up doing the second one.

As to the number of bags of cement....if your already formed wall is not aligned you'll use more bags of cement to bring to level. The other one is the mix ratio he intends to use per room to give a satisfactory job.
