They serioulsy think the other 5 zones, will just sit down and allow them to have it all to themselves. Dreamers. Party conferences will most likley be next year, where are the SE candidates going around the country, building networks and sharing their vision for what they would do as President?

Instead all we here is 'Zoning, Biafra, Kanu.....'

Atiku, Osinbajo, Tinubu, Bello are all working to realise their ambitions, Igbo are demanding. Keep demanding see how far that gets you guys!

This argument no longer holds any water because all those who came after Ironsi and Zik ended up doing far far worse

Ironsi was only in power for 6 months and he was killed. But in the 6 months Ironsi was in power, Nigeria still had 4 Regions, resource control and fiscal federalism, the 3 essential ingredients of true federalism

Gowon came in and was there for 9 years. In that 9 years, Nigeria went from a federation of 4 Regions to one with 19 unitary states, resource control was removed and fical federalism was cancelled.

So those who say that Ironsi introduced unitarism came in and spent the last 50 years since the death of Ironsi, unitarising Nigeria on a scale that would have shocked Ironsi himself
Ironsi collasped the 4 regions not Gowon. Please get your history correct. We are still living with the impacts of Ironsi's awrfull uniatry decree till this day

shut da f u c khuh You bloody Ohanashit opened book of Lamentation now isn't?

I will say it over and over the structure to concensus pick regional candidate for presidency had been destroyed by this current administration and Ipob whatever buried it completely. If any region want presidencythey should work for it or let's the break up agitation carry on but for anyone thinking in his silly senses that presidency will be given to him like convid palliative its a big joke.

Didn't I said it then that the approach Kanu and ipob shit took on this succession struggle has further blacken the chance for any SE to rule this countryhuh And the useless, hitler kids, misguided online juvenile demented a s s holes e-warriors came upon me to called me Afonja Aboki etc but here we are.

They want presidency in a country they claimed they do not belong. They want presidency but not ready to play national politics. They want presidency but hate every other tribes in Nigeria. They want president but love grabbing peoples land and called themselves bloody developer shit. They want presidency but overlly arrogant and chest beat. They want president everybody is nobody except them. They want presidency they locked their region against other Nigeria tribes if you are not from SE only cow and Suya you can sell every other business no way, their land they will never sell to you but can buy land in Kaduna, Lagos, Nassarawa, Benin, Lokoja but will never sell to Edi man or Yoruba man or Hausa man in their area.

Go and grab the presidency nah.

Be a true Nigerian devoid of hate and play national politics first then talk presidency or hold your peace.

If my post upset you snipper still less than N700 s it's still affordable.

Good day.
You have made some very sound points. The Igbos need to understand that over 20 years since we have been operating democracy, and it's now fairly mature, there is no such thing as giving the presidency to a single zone. It is NEVER going to happen, so best to stop wasting time on that, and instead start working with other zones to achieve you political goals

Nobody is dennying anybody anything, so please stop all this persuction complex nonsense. What the SE want is to be handed the presidency on a plate of gold. That will NEVER happen. Even after the Yoruba had suffered the June 12 annulment and the death of many SW leaders, Obasanjo was not handed the presidency,. he had to contest the ticket against otthers includeing Alex Ekweume. Thy truth is NO REGION has ever been handed the presidency. The closet we've had is when the north agreed that the south would produce the president in 1999, but it was the whole South no any particular zone.
It is the height of hurbris for one zone to expect 5 others, to sit back and allow only them go for the Presidency

TooNoisy:
I agree. However, you have to note that these misdeeds came after an Igbo led coup; so peole believed the Igbos has an agenda. Zik wanted unitary system. Young Igbo soldiers truncated Nigeria’s democracy and then handed over to Aguiyi Ironsi. The Igbo soldiers were never punished, rather, Ironsi immediately announced the Unitary system which was always considered Igbo agenda. That was what led to the counter coup and later the war.
Nothern political leaders pleased with Ironsi, not to pass the unitary decree but he paid no heed. Ojukuwu is even on record as saying that in the Unitary system, Igbo civil servants would be running nothern affairs. That was like rubbing salt into an open wound for the North. Why was there the need for a unitairy system? Who in the North, Mid West or South West was asking for it? Only the Igbos wanted it, becasue they thaought they were going to rule the whole nation.

Igbos initially never wanted to hear anything like secession in Nigeria because they so much believed, though falsely, that they were the most educated tribe.
As an evidence of Igbo domination agenda hence their initial resistance to the idea of secession; here is a quote:

So true. It is so impotant that we know our history CORRECTLY, in this country.
Politics › Re: Suffering In The East Is On Another Level by bjdon: 7:31pm On Nov 14, 2021
dasparrow:
Listen, IPOB is not the reason you are suffering in the East. Nigeria has been marginalizing you since the 1960s. Even if IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had not demanded for secession, Easterners and indeed Southern Nigerians will still continue to be marginalized by the ruling Fulani oligarchy.

Go and watch a video of Ahmadu Bello being interviewed by a white journalist. He, Ahmadu Bello said when it comes to jobs, he will consider northerners first and if he cannot find a northerner to fill the position he will consider a white person and if he cannot find a white person, only then will he consider a Nigerian from the Southern part of the country.

Nigerians are not united and self determination is not a crime. Why has the capital of Nigeria never been in a state in Eastern Nigeria? Have you thought about that? Why does Eastern Nigeria not have a seaport? I am not from the East but I am trying to open your eyes to all the injustice going on in Nigeria. Nigerian government sent killers to Anambra and Imo yet you blame IPOB. When and if Biafra comes, you are welcome to remain in Nigeria.
Persuction complex. Is it the Fulani that have prevented SE governors from fixing roads in their states? Is it not a Fulani man that is completing the 2nd River Niger bridge? Please let everyone in Nigeria OPEN their eyes. Our rulers play this 'divide and rule' game, while they loot us rotten. There are definitly marginalisation issues against the SE, especially in terms of number of states, but none of those can account for the poor state of basic insfrastructure, something that is not only seen in the SE, but across the whole country. That is the result of terrible leadership that has bedeviled the whole country.

Politics › Re: 2023: The Battle Between Rotimi Amaechi And Osinbanjo by bjdon: 12:22pm On Nov 14, 2021
This needs to be looked at in 2 stages. Frist the APC primaries. If indeed it is Amachi vs Osinbajo, a key question would be where does Tinubu stand? Would Tinubu support Osinbajo or would he consider him a traitor. Let's for arguments sake say Tinubu supports Osinbajo, that should tie up most of the delegates from the SW, and some from the NW, for Osinbajo. However Amachi will sweep the SE and SS delegates, while the rest of the North, will follow whatever Buhari declares. So for the APC ticket it really comes down to who Buhari wants. My gut feeling is that Buhari would go with Amachi, as he will want APC to finally have a solid presence in the SS.

Stage 2 the election: Difficult one this, as we don't know who the PDP will present. If it's Atiku v Amachi, the SW become the king makers, however there is another question will the SE vote for Amachi or go with Atiku if Atiku picks a SE vice(Half bread today or potential full loaf in 8 years?)

There are many mixed demonization marriages in Christianity that are very progressive and successful. The only thing we need is to have a good reasoning to make good decisions not discriminating among the brotherhood of Christ. It's shameful.
Exaclty. if 2 people are true christians with a good understanding of the Bible and also really love each other, then they can make a mixed denomiation marrage work. The problem some demoninations in Christianity demonize other denomications, so their members find it imposable to marry someone from that demoniation. The north is unsettled. When I told people that without the support of South West, the north is just a mere geographical entity.
Imagine what would've happened if the South is speaking with one voice.
Why are they restless?
1. Southern governors' stand on national issue.
2. The manner some northern minorities are reacting to IPOB v FG.
They now feel that taking out South East will weaken the South and also reduce the tension building in the north.
Another northern leader will speak.
Watch out!!!
They are not unsettled at all. The North are being strategic. If the 5 SE states leave Nigeria, the North then have a super majority, and will totally dominate what's left. What they dint realise is once Biafra is declared and the SE leave, the rest of the South will follow. SW and SS are just letting the SE do the heavy lifting!

How is it wrong to say that the ticket was handed to him when the ex generals and the military at large arm twisted everyone else to clear the road for Obasanjo.

I wonder why you people always choose to play the ostrich rather than admit and face a glaring fact?
The generals were not the only players in the PDP. Ekueme had strong support as well. Igbos have to accept a simple fact, the presidency will NEVER be handed to them on a plate. Their candidates need to work like everyone else, and build the required alliances across the country.
Politics › Re: Obasanjo Was Handed Power On A Platter. Why Can’t Same Be Done For Igbos? by bjdon: 9:21am On Nov 01, 2021
Penguin2:
Obasanjo was released from prison by Abdulsalami Abubakar on the 16th of July 1998 and by December 9th 1998, he won the PDP presidential ticket in a convention organized in Jos.

After reading extensively on what transpired in the run on to the elections, I realized how much role money and the military as spearheaded by IBB, played in bringing Obasanjo to power without having participated in the formation of the PDP nor any of its major decision making process.

Again, it has been widely reported that while Obasanjo was in prison, his late wife, Stella, used to sell kerosene just to survive. That’s how broke the Obasanjos were before he left prison. So one wonders where he got the money to prosecute a presidential election if things were not railroaded for him?

In a Vanguard exclusive interview with Okwesilieze Nwodo, the former PDP chairman and the serving secretary of the PDP at the time of the convention, in 25th July 2009, he clearly stated how Obasanjo came to become the Presidential candidate of the PDP as against Ekwueme who hitherto was to get the ticket.

Find the interview here https://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/07/obasanjo-was-not-qualified-to-be-pdp-candidate-in-1999-okwesilieze-nwodo/amp/

According to Nwodo, prior to 1999, the Southwest was already singing Odua Anthem and was already hoisting flags and determined to leave Nigeria because of the Abiola saga. Consequently, IBB thought it imperative to help fix the mess he created and that was how he threw his weight behind Obasanjo because of his military experience and because he was the one who could help stop the Yoruba from leaving the Nigerian union.

Going on, Nwodo noted how Sunday Awoniyi who was part of Ekwueme campaign left for the Obasanjo camp and how he(Nwodo) too was lobbied with money and appointive position to throw his weight behind Obasanjo too. Overtures he said he resisted. But of course not everybody resisted such overtures as so many others accepted to be lobbied and to work to deliver Obasanjo including the military government of General Abubakar.

What this means was that the 1998 convention of the PDP in Jos was a mere formality as the winner was already known.

But was IBB wrong? No! Southwest had been shortchanged with the annulment of the 1993 elections which Abiola, a Yoruba, clearly won. So it was natural for them to feel cheated and because of that restitution became imperative .

So as OPC was running amok in the Southwest, hoisting flags and causing havoc, power brokers felt the need to placate these people. But that needed to be done through someone who doesn’t believe in their ideology of breaking away and that was where Obasanjo came handy.

Now to the question, why can’t same thing be done for the Southeast? Hasn’t the southeast been marginalized enough? Wouldn’t anyone who is sincere admit that Ndigbo has been systematically schemed out of the affairs of this country since after the war?

Why is there a rhetorics of how Igbos can’t be trusted with power because some dissidents groups are campaigning for secession but there was no such thing when it was the time of the Yorubas?

Are all Igbos IPOB? Is no Igbo man that can be trusted with power and charged with helping quail the agitations in this region?

Did the Yorubas go cap in hand in 1998 to ask for power? I guess not. Then why are Igbos expected to go cap in hand to other regions to beg for presidency because ‘power is not given on a platter’?

Lalasticlala
Mynd44
Another Igbo trying to rewrite history. In 1999 the North collectively accepted that the president would come from the south, due to the June 12 annulment. IBB and the ex generals supported Obasanjo. Alex Exueme also contested for the PDP ticket, so it's wrong to say the ticket was handed to Obasanjo.

Decolink:
Please I will try to be brief.
I started dating her in 2017,we dated for 3yrs and I traveled outside the country in 2020.
We didn't have any problems and I was serious about getting married to her.
When I was leaving she promised not to have another boyfriend and to wait for me(she is 24). I promised not to disappoint her.
It was going well for sometime until after one year,we had a quarel and separated.

About 3 months ago,we got back together, and she said she was still intact and waiting for me.
We started communicating regularly, but I noticed that each time were talking, she would be receiving calls frequently, after sometime,I confronted her with it,she lied that he was her customer. But I called the guy and found out he is a guy that was chiking her before.
She later admitted that she dated the guy when we had quarels. She also admitted to going to night clubs that period.

I still love her,but I'm pained because she cheated, lied about it and was reluctant about coming out of that relationship.
I'm also thinking of continuing the relationship because I have been outside for 2year now,it happened when we quarelled and she has agreed to stop it.
Nairalanders,do you think I should quit the relationship or go ahead with marriage plans.
There is nothing to debate about this. LEAVE HER NOW!! You may think you'll never find another love like her's, trust me you will. You will find a lady who is ture to only you, who loves and respects you. While looking for 'The one' have fun. There are many fish in the water and life is short. No way should you waste a single second on somebody who can't even be loyal to you. She does not love or respect you and never will.
