The igbos voted en mass for PDP in 2015 and 2019. That means they do not really have a base in APC. This was further illusrtrated in the recent Anamabra elections where APC came in third. Now please tell me, how do you expect a party you have never voted for, to give you it's presidential ticket, when there are other groups that have been supporting the party since it was formed?

You Northerners stood against the establishment of Amotekun as a solace for South west to address the inadequacy of the northern controlled Nigerian Police. You even, less actively though, worked against the establishment of Ebubeagu in the south east claiming all these are moves to entrench independence and federalism by the south (which is what is the ideal in the first instance, being called a federal Republic). But you Northerners will not have the rest of the country divesting themselves away from shackles and living the good life of rest from threat and fear of threat to lives and properties because you were already used to it in your own region and would want to drag every other person along into your type of self inflicted doom.

All your efforts at frustrating the SW leadership and especially your war (masterminded by Malami the Nigeria Northern AGF) against Akeredolu of Ondo State is still fresh.

Well, thank goodness that the regional security outfits, save the hypocritical Hisbah of the North, were able to painstakingly reduce (though not yet uhuru) the menace of occupation of their forests by antisocial elements. They have mostly been chased back to the north where they came from.

Now you should deal with your own problems and let the rest of us hear word.

People please think about this properly. The parties have never planned for direct prmaries neither has INEC. It is practically the same as running multiple presidentiaal elections. The opportunities for litigation, cheating, violence....are numerous. I truly believe direct primaries are actually a RISK to our democracy. The National assembly should removed the direct primary clause from the bill, and forward it back to the President for signing.

Those who smuggled direct primary into the electoral bill did so to generate unnecessary bottleneck and scuttle the entire process.

I agree. It should not be a matter of national law as to how a party holds it's primaries. Also direct primaries will introduce the same kind of rancour and litigation that we see with elections. There will be cases all the way to supreme court. At least with the indirect primaries it's just the delegates, the whole thing is settled in convention ground and everbody goes home. Arewa Consultative Forum Cries Out Against Killings In The North



The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) says it totally disapproves, remains frustrated and is angry over what appears to be an endless killing in Northern Nigeria.

In a statement by the ACF spokesperson, Emmanuel Yawe, oN Monday, the group said it is outrageous that those elected to govern the people have not deemed it fit to visit the places where citizens were brutally murdered.

Recently, 38 persons were hacked to death in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to Samuel Aruwan, the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, many houses, trucks, cars and food crops were also destroyed during the attacks.

Reacting to the incident, the ACF while joining the Governor of Kaduna and the President of Nigeria in consoling those who suffered losses during the latest attack, called on all the state governments and the Federal Government to show more empathy and sympathy in such grave security breaches.

“Nothing stops the President and a State governor from visiting such places.

“We sadly note that he has never felt it necessary to do so. In fact, following his example, not one governor has done so except Governor Zulum of Borno,” the ACF stated.

According to the ACF, those affected by the savage attacks within the region are often left to think that their lives don’t count.

“The President and the northern governors are unwittingly creating the impression that only their lives, those of their immediate family members and their offices matter,” the group further noted.

The ACF said it believes that the president and the northern governors have the capacity to do better than is currently being done.

When has the North EVER matched for the intrests of the south? Maybe you are too young to remember June12th. When Babangida annuled the election it was only in the south that people rioted. The North kept quiet, even though they voted en mass for Abiola. Many of the things are are suffering in this country till this day, can be traced back to June 12th. Going even furhter back in 1989 patriotic Nigerian students from southern universities rioted against the harsh economic policies of the Babangida regime. Again no single Northern University joined the riots. Now they are suffering they want us to come and riot for them. Their head no correct!

Is this the same North that tried to starve the south with a food blockade now asking for our help?

When we took control of forests so that Fulani bandits would no longer have places to operate from, you all complained. Today is it not from your forests that bandits are reacking havoc?

When will Igbos get it into their heads? Nobody is going to give them presidnency on a plate. The Nigerian political scence is vibrant, with allances and networks criss-crossing the whole country. If Igbos have refused to build aliances across the nation, that is their own problem. The Tinubu they are asking to step aside has been building a political machine across the nation for over a decade. What has Orji Kalu been doing? What has Peter Obi been doing?
I really used to respect the Igbos, but honestly I think they should stick to business where they are exceptional. This political game is just not for them at all.
