Where is your evidence that China and Russia sell fake weapons? You do realize that ALL the freedom figthers in the 60's and 70's (Cuba, Angola, Namabia, El Savador...) where all using Russian and China weapons. The AK 47 remains till this day the most realiable automatic machine gun in service.

It's a total joke that a nation will spend Millions of dollars to buy weapons, and then have to get clarance from the seller, before deploying. This was the same US that refused to sell GEJ weapons when he needed to confront BH, becasue Hillary Clinton and Obama refused to designate BH as a terrosit outfit. Politics is dynamic not static. The SE simply do not know how to play the game. It's not about sentiments, it's all about interests. In 1999 the SW voted massivly agaisnt OBJ, by 2003 it reversed and they voted en mass for him. Why? Interests. If GEJ were to contest in 2023 he will not be needing SE support. His contesting will be a Northern tool to secure the presidency in 2027, hence the North will vote en mass for GEJ, as will the SS.
The Igbos need to STOP, telling diffrent people not to contest. it's embarassing and pathatic. They need to face some quick facts. They do not have a foothold in ACP and will never get the ticket there. You can't reap, where you did not sow. PDP is thier best bet. They need to consolidate around one candidate in PDP(Peter Obi?) and start full mobilisation and networking for that canidate. Right now in PDP Atiku, Saraki, Wike are all working, I hardly hear from Peter Obi. Presidency no be moi-moi. Tinubu and Atiku have been working for it for over a decade. You can't just sit in your living room and be shouting to others 'Do not contest it's our turn'. No be so!

No serious counrtry will purchase weapons from someone who will be controlling how you use them. In future Nigeria should focus it's arm purchases from Russia and China. Once we have paid and taken delivery of the weapons, it is up to us to decide how to deploy them.

My stand is a capital NO to involvement of religions in Government.
It only became a great issue after 1986 when Nigeria joined the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and it hasn't brought us any good at all.


In the old Western Region, Awolowo and his deputy Premier and chosen, successor, SLA Akintola were both Christians.


In the Second Republic, Gov Lateef Jakande and Deputy Gov Rafiu Jafojo were both Muslims and nobody raised any eyebrows. Their Administration is the best in the history of Lagos State.


Gen Gowon and his deputy, Admiral Adewale Wey were both Christians.


1983 Dec 31-1985 Aug-27: Gen Muhammadu Buhari and his deputy, Gen Tunde Idiagbon were muslims.

In the 1979 presidential election, Awolowo & Emeadu ran on the plateform of the UPN and nearly won the election if not for the Judicial intervention with it's 12 two-third controversy.

Indeed there was a time religion did not play a big role in Nigeria politics, but sadly events like taking us into OIC and the adoption of sharia in the North have changed all that.

You even, less actively though, worked against the establishment of Ebubeagu in the south east claiming all these are moves to entrench independence and federalism by the south (which is what is the ideal in the first instance, being called a federal Republic). But you Northerners will not have the rest of the country divesting themselves away from shackles and living the good life of rest from threat and fear of threat to lives and properties because you were already used to it in your own region and would want to drag every other person along into your type of self inflicted doom.

All your efforts at frustrating the SW leadership and especially your war (masterminded by Malami the Nigeria Northern AGF) against Akeredolu of Ondo State is still fresh.

Well, thank goodness that the regional security outfits, save the hypocritical Hisbah of the North, were able to painstakingly reduce (though not yet uhuru) the menace of occupation of their forests by antisocial elements. They have mostly been chased back to the north where they came from.

People please think about this properly. The parties have never planned for direct prmaries neither has INEC. It is practically the same as running multiple presidentiaal elections. The opportunities for litigation, cheating, violence....are numerous. I truly believe direct primaries are actually a RISK to our democracy. The National assembly should removed the direct primary clause from the bill, and forward it back to the President for signing.

I agree. It should not be a matter of national law as to how a party holds it's primaries. Also direct primaries will introduce the same kind of rancour and litigation that we see with elections. There will be cases all the way to supreme court. At least with the indirect primaries it's just the delegates, the whole thing is settled in convention ground and everbody goes home. Arewa Consultative Forum Cries Out Against Killings In The North



The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) says it totally disapproves, remains frustrated and is angry over what appears to be an endless killing in Northern Nigeria.

In a statement by the ACF spokesperson, Emmanuel Yawe, oN Monday, the group said it is outrageous that those elected to govern the people have not deemed it fit to visit the places where citizens were brutally murdered.

Recently, 38 persons were hacked to death in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to Samuel Aruwan, the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, many houses, trucks, cars and food crops were also destroyed during the attacks.

Reacting to the incident, the ACF while joining the Governor of Kaduna and the President of Nigeria in consoling those who suffered losses during the latest attack, called on all the state governments and the Federal Government to show more empathy and sympathy in such grave security breaches.

“Nothing stops the President and a State governor from visiting such places.

“We sadly note that he has never felt it necessary to do so. In fact, following his example, not one governor has done so except Governor Zulum of Borno,” the ACF stated.

According to the ACF, those affected by the savage attacks within the region are often left to think that their lives don’t count.

“The President and the northern governors are unwittingly creating the impression that only their lives, those of their immediate family members and their offices matter,” the group further noted.

The ACF said it believes that the president and the northern governors have the capacity to do better than is currently being done.

When has the North EVER matched for the intrests of the south? Maybe you are too young to remember June12th. When Babangida annuled the election it was only in the south that people rioted. The North kept quiet, even though they voted en mass for Abiola. Many of the things are are suffering in this country till this day, can be traced back to June 12th. Going even furhter back in 1989 patriotic Nigerian students from southern universities rioted against the harsh economic policies of the Babangida regime. Again no single Northern University joined the riots. Now they are suffering they want us to come and riot for them. Their head no correct!

Is this the same North that tried to starve the south with a food blockade now asking for our help?

When we took control of forests so that Fulani bandits would no longer have places to operate from, you all complained. Today is it not from your forests that bandits are reacking havoc?

When will Igbos get it into their heads? Nobody is going to give them presidnency on a plate. The Nigerian political scence is vibrant, with allances and networks criss-crossing the whole country. If Igbos have refused to build aliances across the nation, that is their own problem. The Tinubu they are asking to step aside has been building a political machine across the nation for over a decade. What has Orji Kalu been doing? What has Peter Obi been doing?
I really used to respect the Igbos, but honestly I think they should stick to business where they are exceptional. This political game is just not for them at all.

As much as I dislike Buhari, I have to wonder if there is not some form of sabotage going on here. Lets ask ourself why where so many Northern traidiational rulers against Buhari becoming president (According to Bisi Akande)? Could it be becasue they knew that Buhari will not be giving them brown envelops and numerous oil contracts? I think there are elements in the North that are intent on destablizing Buhari's govt.
