BREAKING NEWS:
His name is Brigadier General Aminu Kano-Maude, a former Director of Finance in the Army Headquarters and a Former Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU).
He is said to have embezzle over 39b.
He died in November, 2019 from Cancer.

So all these time that people were complaining that former President Goodluck Jonathan didn't buy ammunitions, it was this Aminu Kano who stole all arms fund and bought over 30 Filling Stations, Buildings and Shopping Plazas all over Nigeria.

It took over 5 years to trace and compile the magnitude of his corruption which is over 20 Billion Naira that is the monthly Federal Allocation of at least 5 states in Nigeria.

EFCC have been able to recover 29 properties worth over 10 Billion Naira and they keep discovering new properties as the years goes by.

The Federal Government didn't detain or prosecute him because he was from the ruling Caliphate, it was only after he died that the press got wind of the colossal embezzlement and robbery.

I dont think the Igbos lack diplomacy, I think other regions (not everyone in it) lack diplomacy on the Igbos.. one might even say there seems to be be a sense of racism and segregation rapidly growing against the Igbos.

This is a region that has waited and watched on the sidelines while giving support to everyother region, the region has been derided and called names, relegated to the extent of not a single position on the hierarchy of power in the nation, despite biting policies and untold hardship it has not stopped its travels to every nook and cranny in the country while creating a sense of unity and building relationships. How is the emeka and chinedu you get spare part and household items from while being cordial with you different from the one that aspire for leadership in his or her country?
Cry me a river!
Was an Igbo man not VP to Shagari?
Were Igbo men not Senate presidents in Obasanjo's time
The simple truth is the Igbos hitched their tent with PDP. That worked for a while, but eventually when PDP lost, they found themselves outside the power equation. They need to learn from how the SW built an alliance with the NW. All this boasting, shouting, threatening , crying...is not going to get them anywhere.

*Reject VP slot
*Vow to sanction any Igbo politician who accepts to be running mate to candidates from other regions
*Threaten to quit Nigeria, if…

ABUJA – Notable personalities from the Southeast, under the aegis of Igbo Elders Consultative Forum, IECF, have insisted that their geopolitical zone must produce the next president of Nigeria.
They also threatened heavy sanctions against any Igbo politician who accepts to be presidential running mate to any person outside the Southeast zone.
The Chairman of the forum and former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, made the remarks while speaking to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.
Present are the briefing were the former Minister of Education; Prof. S. C Madubuike; Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo (FCT chapter), Dr. Nkonye Kingsley; His Royal Majesty, Igwe Ibe Nwosu, among several leading Igbo scholars and traditional title holders.
Ezeife insisted that it is either the Southeast is allowed to produce the Nigeria’s next president in 2023 or the region will quit the country.
He said, “Emboldened by the increasing demand and support by credible and patriotic Nigerians for power to shift to the South in 2023, the Igbo Elders Forum hereby encourages visionary, credible and creative presidential materials of South East zone to declare their intension for Presidency and pursue it with every sense of seriousness, vigour and commitment.
“We are very serious about this directive, and do not mean those unserious bootlickers, who are angling to be running mates to candidates from other parts of
the country, as the Igbos will not take it lightly with any of our sons or daughters who accept to be
running mates to any person outside the South East zone in 2023.
“It is either we are allowed to produce the president of this country in 2023 to change the appalling narrative of continued decay, poverty, insecurity, poor governance, corruption and maladministration in Nigeria or out of it. No half measure, as serious
sanctions will be visited on any Igbo man or woman that sabotages this noble and patriotic decision of our people to provide for Nigeria a credible, visionary and
creative president.

“Legally, morally, and strategically, it is the turn of the Southeast to produce the next president of the
country as the other zones have been given the opportunity to serve this country in that capacity.”
Ezeife also argued that it is not just for the sake of equity, justice and fairness, but also for a change of narrative of Nigeria, which he described as the sleeping giant of Africa.
In the same vein, the Secretary of IECF, Prof. Charles Nwekeaku, warned that any political party that does not zone its presidential ticket to the Southeast will lose the region’s votes.
“We are waiting for them (political parties), as they will meet their Waterloo this time, if they insist on
shortchanging the Southeast people this rare opportunity of producing a credible, patriotic,
detribalised and dynamic president of Nigeria in 2023,” he said.

The simple truth is Nigeria is not yet ready to have a situation where 'The best man wins'. I really hope we get there one day, but for now, rotation between the North and South is the way to go. If Buhari had been a fair leader, that had carried all along, then prehaps people would be more sympathetic to the idea of no zoning. As things stand, after 8 years of ethnic bigotry and Fulani expansionism, there is no way, the south will accept another Northern president to take over from Buhari.

Amaechi that cannot win a local government election in Rivers State, is that who will win presidency?

Amaechi will not win one State in the South if he is brought forward. All these titles are compensation on the money he spent on Buhari's election and for building his wasteful "University of Transportation" in Daura.

Amaechi stands no chance.
Obasanjo did not even win his ward in 1999, yet alone any state in the SW, yet he won the election. If Amaechi is the candidate, the SW become the king makers. He will win the north by a wde margin the SE may vote PDP if those pick Atiku and and a SE running mate. The SS will be split, I think Amaechi will do better than many people think. Will states like Delta and Edo, Akwa Ibom, vote for Atiku? The SW will have candiate in either main party so they become the king makers

Una go cry tire.

The next Presidency is for Igbos. But, they must present their candidates and mobilize for them nation wide. Yorubas, Hausas, Fukanis, Kanuris, Ijaws have all done it and plunged Nigeria into more difficulties, let Igbos too try their luck. Who knows, an Igbo man may just be our Messiah.

However, nobody will zone the Presidency to Igbos, they must fight for it. The unwritten zoning is between North and South and not between the fraudulent 6 regions. That is why North-East or North-Central cannot say that it is their turn. Even during past elections, Buhari, Ojukwu, Abubakar Rimi and others contested against Obasanjo. The Presidency was not zoned to Obasanjo's village nah.

Igbos must present formidable candidates. Power is never given on a platter of gold. Power is fought for and won or snatched. Igbos must be ready to contest against the Yoruba candidates lead by our top joint strikers the Jagaban Borgu and Star Boy Osinbanjo, if they don’t prepare and mobilize for their candidates, we Yorubas will snatch the Presidency from them and they will cry blood.

At the moment, there is no better economist in the world that Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo the Solution. That's the man that taught so called world acclaimed economists from EU, US, World Bank African Union, European Central Ban and others Macro Economist. He taught them how to manage the economy when you see recession approaching. That was why during the so called global recession of 2008, while the world world was crying and weeping, Nigerians were smiling, laughing and throwing Owambe parties every weekend, that's because Soludo the Solution was in charge. But when Musa Yar'Adua another ethnic bigot got there as President, he replaced a proven professor of Economics with Sanusi Lamido who had just MSc in Islamic studies. If Soludo is presented as Presidential candidate, even those who hate Igbos (if there are any) will campaign for Soludu the Solution. No Yoruba man will vote for clowns like Pius Ayim Pius or Dave Umahi

But, for the sake of peace and inclusiveness, I think Igbos should have it. They have developed Malaysia, Indonesia, India, UK, US, Israel even Saudi, UAE, Kuwait, e.t.c. let us give them the opportunity to develop Nigeria. Afterall we did not know that the current lifeless terrorist hiding inside the Rock has nothing in his brain until we gave him the chance, let give Igbos too a chance, I am sure Igbos will not disappoint us like the lifeless terrorist.
You have written very clear and concise and deployed intellectual arguments over and sentiments. I've been saying more or less the same for a while now. The call to zone the presidency to the SE, is just a waste of time and resources. It's never going to happen. The SE leaders and people should be working on putting forward quality candiates and also be realistic. There is simply no way ACP is going to zone or select a SE candidate for president. The SE have simply not supported ACP strongly enough to now expect it to give them their presidentail ticket. That's just a fact. The PDP is a diffrent boat. The SE have been loyal to this party right from 1999, they have every right to expect to have PDP ticket, expecally as the PDP produced 2 southern presidents from the other zones in the south. My advice to the SE, is to focus ALL their energies on getting the PDP ticket.

No, can Amaechi win Rivers state for Apc? Absolutely no.

You can't give your ticket to a region where you're going to lose massively.

Delta state would vote massively against Apc, Delta pdp's vote his always above 1million.

Rivers state once delivered 1.5million votes for Pdp.

Akwa ibom state too is tsunami.

Technically Pdp are controlling 5/6 of SS states.

Thank God the big men in these parties don't think like Nairaland political analyst.
True points but ultimatly of no consequence. Obasanjo won the 1999 elections without the SW votes. Indeed he lost his own ward, but that did not prevent him from winning the election overall.

I also think the past votting patterns of the SS can't be used to predict the future. In the past the SS has had no investment in the APC and still had the emotional connection to PDP due to GEJ. If in 2023 PDP present a Northern candiate aginast Amaechi, I think you may see a very diffrent vote from the SS.

APC is scared of using Tinubu or Osinbajo to battle a Tambuwal or Atiku or Bala PDP Candidacy. Swift victory then for PDP in South South, South East, North East and North West while North Central remains a neutral ground. South West Candidacy will only win South West. South East candidacy will only make the party win South South and South East but lose the other zones.

You have nailed it in this write up. The igbo political elites are all about their own interests, not that of their people. Today Igbos are shouting up and down about being given the presidency, yet when their own Ojukuwu contested, they did not vote for him. Say what you will about the other zones in this country, when they want something, they go for it, no compromise. Igbo leaders will always sell out just watch. Atiku will get the PDP ticket and another Igbo will be picked as his number 2
