Maybe you guys can now understand why I want Atiku in the race. At the moment, Nigeria is way too corrupt to conduct any semblance of an election in the next couple of decades. The problem with Utomi's withdrawal and disqualifying other influential but corrupt politicians like Atiku is the emergence of a civilian dictatorship, a la Obasanjo.

I love the attention from 419. At least we are known for something and above all they're concerned. I've always been quick to throw my Naija cred around, it never failed me. The real impression about Naija is that they're real smart folks in a failed country.

The Bush administration seems to be content with its relations with the Obasanjo administration. Sanator Feingold can make all the empty threats he want, but issues of foreign policy rests in the president. If Nigeria was that important to the U.S., may be senator Feingold will sway public opinion and pressure Bush to play a more active role in Nigeria's democracy.

It all started with the Gowon administration and blew up under Shagari. A population that is overwhelmingly ignorant of their rights and role of government, stood-by and watched as illiterate soldiers and few colonial educated elites, hijacked the nation's resources without any opposition from the people.
