PoliticsRe: Why would obong of calabar try to stop the eze ndi igbo of calabar by BlackMamba(m): 3:21pm On Apr 12, 2007
I don't know the details of this stupid controversy but trust me, it's not far from an internal squabble between the president of the Igbo association and the self-styling Eze ndi Igbo. The association president has the support of the Obong, so it's understandable that they come out and discredit the Eze ndi Igbo guy. Who cares if the Igbo leader is called Eze or President?
BTW, we the Igbos never differ to any Eze when making decisions that affect our community. They are more or less ceremonial, contract-chasing elites.
PoliticsRe: Fg Declares Thursday And Friday Public Holiday (its Political, I Swear) by BlackMamba(m): 9:51pm On Apr 11, 2007
Judges can issue a temporary injunction from their bedroom, if need be. So Atiku should make adequate arrangement to get hold of the court clerk for proper filing.

FamilyRe: My Husband Is So Attached To His Mother by BlackMamba(m): 7:53pm On Apr 06, 2007
so trying to get your husband to severe the umbilical cord from his parents and strike out on his own is now trying to monopolize his weath?
Another veiled reason to get a man to severe his unconditional love for his parents.

FamilyRe: My Husband Is So Attached To His Mother by BlackMamba(m): 4:22am On Apr 06, 2007
I still maintain that more often than not, the problem stems from unproductive and inconsiderate women that bark at the slightest threat to their comfort zone, of exclusive enjoyment of a man's wealth.
FamilyRe: My Husband Is So Attached To His Mother by BlackMamba(m): 12:37am On Apr 05, 2007
your type will let your family shave your wife's head while you stand by and do nothing.
As long as it pleases mummy dearest and advance the cause of the family. cool
FamilyRe: My Husband Is So Attached To His Mother by BlackMamba(m): 9:55pm On Apr 04, 2007
If you can't put your wife first, stay single.
thanks seun. i was already hammering out the exact same response. im sure blackmamba is a mama pleaser! such people please everyone else but wifey
Exactly me in a nutshell. I don't believe in the institution of marriage. Family is it for me. And mind you, I don't need the shackles of a formal union with an inconsiderate woman to start a family.

He prefers to please everyother person in the house other than me.
I have a problem with women that think like this. I've known a number of them and they're always trouble.

Disrespecting Chinua Achebe, on his view on anything, is just plain ignorant and stupid.

PoliticsRe: Court Rules: Atiku Free To Contest by BlackMamba(m): 2:35pm On Apr 04, 2007
Basically, the Federal High Court is saying that Atiku's indictment for alleged crimes is not enough reason for INEC to disqualify him . The Federal High Court did not rule on INEC's powers to disqualify a candidate. INEC cannot disqualify candidates arbitrarily. But on appeal, the Court of Appeals and possibly the Supreme Court may overturn the Federal High Court ruling, and declare that INEC acted within its powers in disqualifying Atiku. Remain tuned to this modern and civilized way of resolving political issues. Hopefully, our judiciary will be fair and firm. We're at a crossroad in our quest for democracy.
PoliticsRe: Chinua Achebe: Obasanjo Has Taken Nigeria To Lowest Level by BlackMamba(m): 8:27pm On Apr 03, 2007
Achebe's opinion on politics is no more profound than Obasanjo's opinion on literature. You're mixing up respect for someone's accomplishments in their chosen field with political savvy or analytical accuracy. Writing a book and joining a political organization doesn't make you an infallible expert. OBJ has written several books and is a member of a political organization too, but I doubt that you'd be co-signing his opinion on Achebe, right?
What a bunch of crap. I hope you didn't mean to express this, judging that you're literate enough to log on the internet.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Abubakar Disqualified From Poll by BlackMamba(m): 5:05pm On Apr 03, 2007
Since he has a pending matter to be decided by the Supreme Court, he can seek leave to join all the issues at the apex Court.
PoliticsRe: Presidential Debate On AIT: Very Funny by BlackMamba(m): 5:01pm On Apr 03, 2007
Enough of all these misinformation. Sonny Okogwu is related to Mariam Babangida. Sonny Odogwu, Ide of Ahaba, to the best of my knowledge, is not. Okogwu is your presidential candidate that resides in the North, but an indigene of Delta state, like Mariam Babangida and the illustrious Sunny Odogwu, Ide of Ahaba.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News! - Inec Has Power To Disqualify Candidates by BlackMamba(m): 4:49pm On Apr 03, 2007
I'm all confused with all these legal wrangling. I read that the Supreme Court will rule on Atiku's case on April 20.http://odili.net/news/source/2007/mar/30/502.html

Why don't the Supreme Court consolidate all these cases and end the drama.

CareerRe: Wicked Receptionists by BlackMamba(m): 4:14pm On Mar 29, 2007
I always try to get the name of a rude receptionist or customer rep. and file a complaint with the company. Cumulative complaints often get them fired or repremanded, if they're not f*cking the boss.
ProgrammingRe: Why Nigerian Software Firms Are Absent On The Global Map by BlackMamba(m): 8:08pm On Mar 28, 2007
If there is no democratic government or some stable government (China), everything else is just pipe dream. That is the only difference between the developed and undeveloped countries. With a stable representative government, accountable to the people everything else falls in place like magic.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian NGOs Are Thieves! by BlackMamba(m): 2:17pm On Mar 28, 2007
Most of them are fraudulent and often fold up after the initial grant is received from foreign donors. They primarily put out excellent proposals to get sponsors for their phony projects.

However, I know of a model NGO, Development Education Center Enugu. http://www.decnigeria.org/articles/march2006_comm_progs.html

They have grown strong over 15 years and become self sustaining through emphasis on micro-financing. It's really a model for anyone that wants to start a self sustaining NGO.
Jokes EtcSmart Naijaman by BlackMamba(op): 1:28am On Mar 28, 2007
A Naijaman walked into a bank in New York City and asked for the loan officer. He told the loan officer that he is going to Lagos on a vacation, for two weeks, and need to borrow $5,000.

The bank officer told him that the bank will need some form of security for the loan, so the Naijaman handed over the keys to a brand new BMW 6 series. The car was parked on the street in front of the bank. The Naijaman produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan.

The bank's president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Naijaman, for using an $80,000 BMW as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the BMW into the bank's underground garage and parked it there.

Two weeks later, the Naijaman returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest, which came to $15.41.

The loan officer said, 'Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a successful business man. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?'

The Naijaman replied: 'Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks, and pay only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?'

The bank employees watched as he pulled out of the garage, windows down and sunroof open. Juju music blasting from his car, as he pulled away. grin

FoodRe: My Husband Is Igbo But I Can't Cook! by BlackMamba(m): 3:23pm On Mar 27, 2007
This is a nice thread. Since momsie, sis nor Naija girlfriend are not in the horizon at this time, I once dabbled into egusi soup on the advice of the African market in my neck of the wood. Need I say that it was a total disaster. Please, lovely sisters post ogbono soup recipe also, and I'm going to give my Igbo soup another shot.
PoliticsRe: Our Girls Are Not Interested In Politics? by BlackMamba(m): 3:06pm On Mar 27, 2007
I don't think Naija babes has a glaring disinterest in politics compared to the world average. The "land of the free" is still trying so hard to sell us their first woman president. Naija babes are just towing the line of the rest of women around the world in terms of politics. As they become socially and economically empowered, then they can influence more decisions in society.

FashionRe: Would You Go Shopping With Your Partner? by BlackMamba(m): 2:43pm On Mar 27, 2007
Never! Never!! Never!!!. It's a punishment that my sweetheart knows I don't deserve. I'll help her foot the bill without laboring around the mall aimlessly for hours. As for buying her gifts, which may need her presence to get it right, I always do the gift certificate thing. It's very safe.

Cyclone5: They are both essentially offensive players and wouldn't recognise defence if you were clubbing them over the head with it.
I'm sure you're not basing your conclusion on the NBA, because Kobe is a 6- TIMES NBA ALL-DEFENSIVE FIRST TEAM
