Be yourself and allow others to be themselves. You want to always assert yourself but don't be a jerk doing it. Knowing where to draw the line will not only make you classy but successful in life. |
The average Nigerian reduces everything in life to wealth. Traditionally we hate on tribal lines rather than race. We don't necessary love a white folk but will let it slide because of his perceived wealth. If you get to Naija with enough cash to smooth your way around, you'll feel a lot of love around you. Though most will be out to get what they can out of the friendship. Actually your kid will enjoy a privileged status just for been mixed. But the bottom line is that you must have enough cash to look wealthy. The average Naija don't care about the colour of your skin one way or the other. |
Another source, however said the $2.27m was money duly approved by the Ministry of Defence for certain projects, earmarked for the Nigerian High Commission in India. The senior officer said the money was part of the amount released for the unnamed project. He said the project was initially meant to be carried out by a former defence attache (a Navy Captain), who is currently at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies. According to the source, ”Following the appointment of a new defence adviser, the cost of the project was reviewed downward.” He said that through preliminary investigation and discussion with Ojedokun, ”we discovered that the officer was trying to return the money which is the balance of the original sum that was approved for the project.” He, however, noted that problem arose because Ojedokun failed to declare the money as required by international practice. He said the incident was blown out of proportion simply because it involved a diplomat.Where is the Nigerian press when you need them. Isn't there any news media in Naija with an atom of liver to investigate and publish the truth behind this high level corruption and the absurd official explanations? I guess if you try to be a champion, you may end up like Dele. Only in a dictatorship or country enveloped in apathy can a government official (unnamed) justify remitting funds in a carry-on luggage ![]() |
doyin13: I find it one of the most absurd connections linking Soyinka and cultism.Assuming you know the history of cults in Nigeria Universities, then his contribution may be debatable but not absurd. |
I wish it works, but it's all fad. They'll be hot and grow till the questions of financial control in an expanding business ruin them like it always does. Then another Fire on the Mountain will spring up to continue the rip off. |
If you insist on monitoring his finances you'll end up divorced soon. If your problem is not providing you reasonable care for you and the kids, I can understand. Do you have a joint account (I detest that)? Or did you invest in the car business? Before you paint an ugly picture of this guy, you have to realize that the average American lady will jump at the prospect of an African man who is actually around as a husband and father. |
Enugu is as much fun as you want if you have the means and know where to look. Folks like Chaz will be "submerged in water and still cry of soap entering his eye". |
FIRE AND BRIMSTONE!!! Do not tempt God's anointed with your sweet coochie |
I'll forgive and forget because my d*ck is immune to jealousy. I can't afford to lose any of my serviceable p*ssy because of a stupid thing like pride. For the interest of full disclosure, I don't live with a girlfriend and I don't do love. I enjoy the relationship I have with my girlfriends. As long as I get mine, she can do anyone on the side. I'm not possessive and expect such in return. It's a free world. |
Who are you? You don't sound too smart. From your story, it seems a Nigerian guy just wants to take you to Nigeria for an "arranged marriage" and use you to bring over a guy to the states. What kind of a woman has a goal of "getting her own Nigerian husband". BTW, there are a lot of single Nigerian guys around the U.S, but they're probably not in your class, so you wont meet them. If you decide to go to Nigeria, you can safely take the next flight back to the US when your arranged marriage don't work. You're not going to roam the jungle. The only danger wont be worst than getting shot in the projects. I'm sure you can relate to that. |
At the moment you're just a mugu for the cheap ass. Don't feel bad. Most guys fall mugu once in awhile. Count your loses and move on before you lose more money and suffer more hearthache on this thrash. If you insist to wimp out and stay, be ready to endure the hurt that will surely follow, even if you rob to give her a brand new car. |
Crap, Crap, Crap. It's just a money laundering trip gone awry. Who knows how many previous trips were successful. If she had a legit source for the cash, she would have paid a penalty and not forfeit. "Hard earned" money indeed. I can see that a lot of Nigerians are so disillusioned by the corruption in Naija that the culture is pretty much, "steal all you can but don't get caught". How can people defend this obvious illegality and still complain about the rot in Naija. |
My Youth, If you have good trees to sell, we can do business. Respect. |

@Aloofa, Your well intended critique of the ad seems to make some folks uncomfortable. That they exalt mediocrity shouldn't surprise you. It's one of our traits in Naija. |
Suns will lose to the Spurs to spite white folks that think Nash is the messiah. Sorry Amare. I love you but hate the idea of a white hope. Pistons all the way. A 'ship for Webber and McDyiess is about right. With Billups in the anchor and Sheed intimidating, they're half way through. |
Beauty of the internet forum. The smart get to mix with the mediocre. It's all good. |
Stop whining and get your ass to where you have an opportunity to make some dollars and act like a king. I bet you you don't have these choices where you came from. Remember you didn't go to Naija for charity. It's a risk and reward business for foreigners coming to Africa to make ends meet. If you're so scared, you can always jet back to your 9 to 5 abroad and manage your credit based lifestyle. |
Why don't you replace your certificates? I'm sure it'll be nothing close to 50K. You ought to be more concerned about protecting your life from a scorned woman. Is replacing certificates such an uphill task that you have to pay a ransom instead? Except you didn't earn the certificates. ![]() |
Training camp is on. J - E - T - S, JETS, JETS, JETS. College football is not big around here. Maybe Rutgers, if they keep improving. |
Deal with it or emancipate. Your choice. |

Hugoboi: @ Black MambaReal world? Come to think of real world. Isn't her dilemma exactly the real world of an average man. Most men love and care for their wife or girlfriend but will f*ck another woman on the side if the opportunity presents itself. Especially if she is pretty and sexy. I guess it's OK for men but not women in the real world. |
F*ck love and commitment. Let your loose ass explore and have fun. Be you. If you don't cheat on your boyfriend now you'll surely cheat on your husband if you end up getting married. Who cares anyway. |
First job was hanging out all day in a friend's real estate office setting up appointments for house showing. I wasn't paid but I get to eat twice a day and avoid watching morning TV shows with nursing moms and senior citizens. It lasted for a couple of months until I got my work permit. |
What a stupid stupid nonsense this is. Nigerian movies and racism? Or do you mean tribalism? I never knew white folks are clamoring to be cast in Nigerian movies. ![]() |
