If the idea is an electronic means of communicating marriage to friends and relatives, via email, I can understand the innovation. Any other reason is a bit tacky to me.

What Tinubu did is a big deal and should be hailed by all. In the Nigerian context, this is a big step in the right direction. Other instances mentioned above are mere personal staff of the governor and do not rise up the post of a commissioner in a state government. I understand the metropolitan nature of Lagos, but it still takes courage to make such a move. Kudos to Tinubu.

Over the years, I've come to realize that it takes the "perfect mix" of talent and grit to win a championship. Jordan, Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Wade etc couldn't do it until they got those very important role pieces to supplement them. I don't see that with the Cavaliers and I'm not sure they're in the right direction.

The Laker's will not have been able to rebuild as quickly as they've done if they added Shaq's bloated contract, knowing full well Shaq has little left in his tank.

You seem to have a good and stable family background, which is a premium among African Americans. If that translates it your values, you should be able to get yourself a good guy, Nigerian or otherwise. Those unfortunate incidents could have been handled a lot better if you're more open with such stuff.

I've always remained a big fan of Kobe, through thick and thin. I believe he got undeserved image hit through in the Laker's break up. He won 3 ships with Shaq and it's time to move on to other goals. Laker's chose Kobe over Shaq because it's the better business and basketball decision for the organization.
The new No.24 is a re-invention and beginning of another phase in his illustrious career.

@Eurphoria, as ugly as nikole's point might seem, it's the reality. You're out of line to judge her intentions, because I didn't see that her post. Do majority Nigerians fall for light skin girls? Of course. That doesn't mean there are not many black beauty that Naija guys prefer over light skin girls. Any sincere Naija guy will tell you that half-castes are a hot commodity in Nigeria. There are not many half-castes in the population and they are born into rich homes on the average.

With all due respect balaoni, we need multiple posts of other exciting sports like basketball, baseball and the NFL. Please keep it coming guys. There is way too much fun in these sports to be restricted by the shackles of soccer.

It remains to be seen how the MLS intend to change the negative attitude by most Americans toward soccer as a Major sports. Most still view soccer as a game for kids and girls and mothers as "soccer moms" that take the kids to practice. If the American public refuse to buy into the game, there will be few to no corporate sponsorship, and game will never grow. Not even with Beckham. Remember Pele tried with the New York Cosmos back in the 70's and eventually failed after the public got their fill of his celebrity status.

Saints will beat the Eagles, but neither of them will get to the superbowl. The winner of Patriots and Chargers is the Superbowl champion. I hope Chargers beat the Patriots because I really really hate New England and Belichick. In fact, I hate everything that has to do with the Red Sox nation.
