Mr Ejikeme Romanus, the father of the girl, Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma who claimed to have scored highest in the 2023 UMTE, has alleged that there is conspiracy to deprive her daughter of her hard earned academic success.

He said that her daughter had shown brilliant academic brilliance right from her nursery school days, stating that she had always placed first position in her classes.

Ejikeme said "We are from Oduma in Aninri local government in Enugu state, but, we live in Uruagu, Nnewi.

"Mmesoma is my first child. She had always taken first position from the time she was in the nursery school at Ogbunike Central school.

"When she was at Oba Girls Secondary school, Mmesoma was representing the school in competitions. So when she changed to Anglican Girls Secondary school, her teachers in Oba Girls came and pleaded with me, begging me to retain her in their school, that she is promoting the name of their school.

"Mmesoma cannot manipulate her UMTE score. I don't believe what they are saying.

"They just want to transfer that scholarship to another person. That is why they are saying that Mmesoma did not make that score.

"It is even her (Mmesoma's) friends that saw her score in internet and started calling her before she went and printed it out. We have the print out with us now", Mmesoma's father stated further.

Ejikeme lamented that her daughter has been feeling very sad and even crying sometimes since after her visit to the commissioner of education from where she was taken to the DSS office.

Meanwhile, Anambra state government has set up an investigation panel into the controversy trailing the authenticity of y Mmesoma's claim of scoring 362 in the 2023 UMTE.

The state commissioner of education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Ude said the state government had congratulated Mmesoma when she was published in social media platforms that she proffered the highest score of 362 in the 2023 UMTE.

She, however, stated that the government was later to discover from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board website that the highest score in the 2023 UMTE was 360, and, that it was another student in the state who, Miss Nkechinyere Umeh who got the score.

The education commissioner said Mmesoma was later brought to her office in Awka on Friday, June 30, by one Very Reverend Nduka and the principal of her school to protest when they saw that the state government rather congratulated Miss Nkechinyere Umeh.

She stated that when she scrutinized the print out of Mmesoma's JAMB result slip, she noticed that the result was that 2021 UMTE.

"Following Mmesoma's protest, I decided to put a call to the secretary of the JAMB, and, he told me that the highest score in 2023 UMTE is 360.

"I therefore invited the DSS (operatives) and when they came, all of us took Mmesoma to their (DSS) office for them to investigate the matter. And I made sure that Mmesoma was released to go home.

"So, the matter is still being investigated", Prof. Chuma-Ude stated further.


When contacted, the public relations officer of the Anambra state police command, deputy superintendent of police, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu told LEADERSHIP that Mmesoma's has not been reported to the police in the state.

"We are not aware of the case (Mmesoma's UMTE score forgery). So, I can comment on the issue", Tochukwu stated.

There's this girl I met..
I sheepishly fell for her after few romantic calls from her
She's fair and pretty.
Then I decided to take her out today,she took a cab which I paid 2k. so we went to an eatery.. then I bought rice and chicken and some stuffs we ate..the bill was 13500, after we were done around 2:35 we left there, she said she wanted to go swimming I then took her to a fancy hotel with an Uber 3k.. on getting there she saw a guy she knew, they exchanged pleasantries which I didn't care about.. turns out that the guy came to swim as well...the swimming was 4k each for both of us.. that's 8k plus the swimming trunks I bought for her that is 3500k...so we freshened up and jump into the pool, i noticed she avoided me inside the pool, always wanting to play alone, and avoided me touching her then I left her on her own..and was swimming alone and having fun, I came back again for her to notice me, she still snubbed me...I left her alone and sat down near the pool when it was raining and there was this cold that pulled me down as I was shivering... meanwhile she was still inside the pool having fun all by herself... until this guy we met when we came.. went inside the pool..I then saw them interacting and I was annoyed..not until I saw him backing her and carrying her around inside the pool while they have fun... Not once not twice, she later came later came to me and ask if I was feeling cold I said yes she said sorry and went back inside the pool...to cut the story short, while I was sitting all by myself interacting with some guys, that guy she was playing with came and told me that my girl said that I was just a friend that he wanted to confirm himself, so he will know he's not offending anyone.. I felt like an idiot, as I went to the dressing room and put on my clothes and left scene looking foolish as she called me back..
On my way back home I bought magic moment vodka.. and drank myself to stupur
Am still high while typing these... What is the problem..I put on an expensive VL shirt with a jogger I bought 21k a slippers of 7k, I sprayed a very nice perfume. I have a very nice facial look...what was the problem if I may ask, I avoided girls like plague all my life and gave this one chance and she made me a fool, am only 23. I think I've learnt my lesson.. my deepest regrets was the whole money I spent, it should remained in my account.. girls fear my return.

I tried recharging my prepaid Meter all through yesterday June 30th, all failed; maybe the traffic of panic buying of the old rate being the last day was responsible for the glitch. Woke up very early this morning to recharge and boom it went just at the 1st trial, chai!!!

I recharged 20k and I got 267 units in return. I was shocked. Usually 1500 is for the 7.5%(VAT). I quickly did the maths 18500 divided by 267.(something). So my tariff now is around 69 Naira per KWH. Mehn, cold gripped me, before now when u buy 20k, u are good for a month due to epileptic power supply. Ironically we have been having 24hours power supply, only God knows if this will last up to 3 weeks sef.

Everything is increasing except for salaries that are on stunted growth. From Fuel, that has impacted directing on food cost and transportation. While this Electric tariff increment will have a larger impact on almost everything. But we all know that the Masses will bear the brunt if it all.

Which way o? How do a common Man survive with all these skyrocketing Bills?

The house am currently staying has an estimated bill of 500k loaded on the prepaid meter which I activated like 2 months ago with 110k and was given 267 units to start with now now it's at 219units am hardly at home..leave b4 7am and return after 6 in the evening. Use Average of 1 to 2 units per day.

8 to 12 percent of my income in lagos goes to transportation to and from work each month..I don't buy food at work but take food to work while going I occasionally get a drink hollandia yoghurt or coke to step down but drink lot of water if I wake up early I could average 8 percent for transport if I wake up late it moves to 12 percent for transportation on average monthly

Someone should explain this write up
