Still got more stories, although I look like the quiet one but I've gotten into a lot of trouble . After my final year my girlfriend who was in her 2nd year came for my convocation. Now it was around 9/10 pm and we were strolling. One had macdowell, the big bottle, and we decided to have a jolly good time while the others prayed. We finished the bottle and I drank more than both of them while we were gisting. After that we decided to eat something and join them in prayers, by this time I was loosing memory . Last thing I recall was knocking on the door and walking in rest are flashes of me falling to the ground and the entire corpers trying to hold me, they must think the holy spirit got me, and being carried to the bathroom were I vomited. Woke up the next day wearing different clothes and found out I displayed that night and vomitted up and down. I and the rest were evicted the next day btw but still don't know how I was able to sweet talk the guy and he forgave us .. I see Mcdowell run now

I personally draw inspiration from people like that. Screw someone's system create your own! I was in a bar with this intellect some days ago. Real intellect not the kind that get all wise after a drink or two. And guess what? I really liked the way he broke down systems that we have all been bred to work under and follow. For example; School itself is a system someone else created and used to benchmark people to determine whether they will become successful or not? Rather Good employees or Not? Do we really have scientists in Nigeria? I mean those who can prove new ideas or develop new hypothesis or empirical evidences. But I know, we have spiritual scientists everywhere. I wasn't there and can't say if there was heavy lightning or how the weather was and I don't think you were there either. Nigeria always jump to conclusion without evidence. Spiritual or not there are other reasons why a tree can burn

Four years back (before I decided to turn my back on working for somebody else) I was a Banker

And I remember this man who purchased a vehicle on a lease facility, however, 7 months down the road he made not a single payment.

It seems he began to dodge the obligations and these were the sort of cases my department worked on.

I remember this case very well because of how different it was

And in most of these cases you’d find out that it would be a case of the person losing discipline and sometimes even changing address to escape the debt. This one was different.

This man had actually died. His wife was not aware that his husband owed money on the car. Understandably neither did his brothers nor friends.

We had legal papers to repossess the vehicle. However, what bothered me is what we saw when we arrived at the house.

You see, I remember seeing the woman carrying the man’s child on her back wrapped in a brown (originally yellow) wrapping towel. The man’s brothers had taken over the place and by looks of things we were not the first people to visit to claim an asset.

From her eyes you could see her pain as she watched everything fall apart

I don’t want to judge and say this man screwed his family. Clearly I never knew him although what I saw showed how gloomy his wife and children’s lives looked.

I want you to think about these people for a minute. We both know the kids have a tough life ahead of them. What do you think these kids will think of their father when they are older?

I see families that keep prospering generation to generation because their forefathers/mothers figured out how to make their little become enough for when they are no longer there.

They passed it on as family culture for years making it impossible for other families to catch up.

So every single morning ever since that case my desire is to be that father or grandfather who sets a proper life and future for those that follow.

Any day any minute you can just drop dead and if you have nothing but debt your family will hate you. You will leave an impossible burned upon them

It’s one of the reasons I left employment to start my own business ventures. A 9 -5 pm job on a fixed income was not going to allow me the life my lovely wife and daughters deserve

If you believe there is more you can do with your life; If you want to build wealth, fight debt and achieve the freedom most people dream of then maybe you and I can work together.

I just saw a post asking what is the relevance of Big Brother and kudos to the nairalanders who gave logical reasons. I know I will get bashed by some users but let's be logical for a minute.
Few weeks ago I never saw myself watching big brother( and I still don't) but that doesn't mean I hate the show or criticize them for being morally wrong. Just thesame way some people bash the Otedolas for throwing Tea parties, it's their money and they can do whatever the bloody hell they want. Nigerians are also quick to judge people for their sins when they have log of wood in their eyes. The few times I've seen the show I didn't see a sex scene and they're not doing what you wouldn't do on your day to day lives. You the father that deny your wife and kids for a chick, or the sexual predator who takes opportunity of any lady vulnerable or that girl who doesn't know the guy she likes and the boasters of private jets .

How about the housewife who's bored of Africa Magic and Telemundo or the kid who sits and just watch the TV. She has sabotaged her uniform and under the law it is forbidden for a corper to alter the appearance of the khaki. She should face the law, let the book be thrown at her. Do you know that weather condition can also cause a tree to burst into flame? Conditions such as heavy lightning, rise in temperature and occasionally tall trees such as Iroko because it attracts lightning. It is purely psychological. You have been psychologically scarred due to the experience at the brothel. You feel you are going to fail again and again.

Infact, subconsciously, your mind sees sex as a fight or flight thing. It is a sexual anxiety and perhaps panic issue. It is very normal and not spiritual.

Unfortunately, your WAFTS (worries, anxieties, fears, thoughts and sensations) are things you have tried to fight off. Your mind now sees sex as a battle and gets your body to fight/flee.

You immediately started avoiding the thing that embarrassed you and found another quick fix. It is like having insomnia and instead of allowing sleep to come naturally, you decide to take pills or use other stuff like sleeping tea, alcohol etc. They will work for a while, but soon their effects will be useless to the point of not working at all.

It is a flight or flight thing. Your body sees sex as something you would fail at. Can you get an erection when in danger? When fighting with someone or fleeing from danger? Nope. During fight or flight response, your body removes blood from places like the stomach, sex organs etc and send to the brain and muscles prepRing them for danger. How can you get an erection when due to that first traumatic experience, you feel that you might fail again and you worry about how embarrassing it would be.

That one experience made you worry little by little and you took actions (unknowingly) that made matters worse psychologically. You sound like a worrier by nature. Lol.

Unfortunately our brain is very silly and does not know the difference between real and perceived danger. If we worry too much, our brain tries to protect us by throwing all manner of things that can go wrong for us to act on them. But keeping calm, noticing these WAFTS, and mindfully letting them go/be whenever this happens helps to reassure your brain that all is cool and calm.

What book on Acceptance and Commitment/Mindfulness can I suggest to you....
