Politics › Re: Oba's Igbo Hate Speech: Nigeria Not Yet A Nation! by Boss13: 8:16pm On Apr 07, 2015
Here we have an ethnic group shy of exploring their potentials, envious of their neighboring ethnic group who is exploring and still exploring. A nation is not made of one ethnic group, it is a macrocosm of ethnic groups, different sets of people.

The constitution gives every nigerian the right to live anywhere and express themselves legitimately. That right is conferred on every nigerian citizen. Only frustrated souls blame their circumstances on the faults of another.

An ondo man born in Lagos can claim to be a lagos resident, but an Enugu man with Igbo ancestry cannot do the same. Shame. Both individuals are Lagos citizens and residents and have equal rights and opportunities. If you are mad, stay mad; if you are frustrated, be frustrated; if you are angry, stay angry, because your emotions cannot change anything.

whitecat1:
you have answer your own questions, Yoruba from Benin republic is more lagosians than you or any ibo in lagos! Ibos are not human beings like that, so nothing can be solved between Yoruba and ibos. We will never be friends, and all we need is one showdown to put things in the right places!
Look at a miscreant annoyed with the circumstances of his life. Angry at his neighbors for turning scarce resources to good use, while he is frustrated

It takes two to tango.

Oba Akinolu may not be right on this but the attitude of our Igbo brothers and sisters could frustrate one.

Having helped them more than what their region has done for them, instead of being grateful; their actions seem to be undermining the essence of our existence through their incendiary statements. Calling their hosts cowards- what do you want after that-fight to show we are not cowards.

Oba Akinolu is their match and that is why the situation seems difficult now.

A gentle king could be disobeyed easily but did they say anything at the palace? No. They dare not.

It was after leaving the palace that chest beating, ultimatum , etc started surfacing.

Who then is the cowards? Ta lo fe gbenan woju ekun lai f'eje we ( who wants to put light at the face of a tiger without being bathed with blood)

Remember, 'He who makes peaceful resolution difficult , has made violence inevitable.'
Another fool unleashed. Who did you help? A bonafide citizen. Your brain cells contains nothing but shit.

Let the truth be told,70% of igbo millionaires made it in lagos which simply means the state has been favourable to them in their biz.So i think igbos should respect the opinion of the lagos Oba cos to be honest Yorubas are accomodating, thats why igbos spend 350days in lagos every year.
My dear Igbos, lets respect the Yorubas so they wont start discrimination against us.
What kind of stupid talk is this. Lagos was once a capital and the reason for the migration. Would the indigenes of Abuja wake up to start talking trash? Are Igbos the only ethnic group in Lagos?

REALODUA:
igbo don't know nigeria politics, we Yoruba hold our respected obas in high esteem, I mean respected ones not the jona dollars one, oba of Lagos is the real definition of first class oba. Mark my words, watch ibo obis and politicians come beg him in days. igbos can't joke with their shops this oba is fighting for his unborn generation just before you make a mess of Lagos like your aba and onisha.
He can do nothing. The courts are not dead. The constitution has not been thrown away. Here lies a monarch, who takes bribes from politicians and still feels he is relevant. What is his contribution to lagos rather than selling lands and listening to gossip

I really do feel his pain but I think nollywood is not ready to address the problem. Maybe they have not being able to come up with solutions. They need to sit down and present their case to the National Assembly. They also no to put naira and kobo to their explanation so that these lawmakers can understand literally what it means.

For now, these film makers are only ranting.

sir what have u done for your country Nigeria?
Conducting myself properly. Paying my taxes as a responsible citizen so it can be used for development. Providing jobs in my little way and these people going on to put food on the table. Obeying and complying to laws and regulations of the land. Respecting the wishes and rights of my neighbors.

Not everybody wish to be a politician. Now my little friend, what have you done for your own country?
Politics › Re: EXPOSED: What Jonathan Planned For JUNE If He Had Won! by Boss13: 10:17pm On Apr 06, 2015
True. He would have done it. FIRS are responsible to collect VAT and if implemented, the prices of end consumption product will increase.

I see nothing wrong with it. How can somebody from another place choose your leader for you?
Who told you they are somebody from another place. They are citizens of nigerians guided by the constitution and can express themselves in any way as long as it is peaceful. I am totally ashamed and gutted by the Oba's behaviour. It is classless and reduced his position to one of madness. I lost respect for the man.

I originally wanted ambode to win, now I think I would prefer Jimi because of the rubbish the mad Oba said. The igbos shall not drown in any water and they will vote based on their conscience. If anybody shall drown, it shall be the Oba and his entire family

Such things will only happen when an OBA is a talkative.....Though I want ambode to win but I think the oba talked senselessly......

Edited: A reliable source said that the oba never cursed the igbos,I also saw the news on another thread probably on frontpage
He did. I saw the video clip and I am gutted that such a man of his status would degrade himself to make such comment.
Politics › Re: Oba Of Lagos Issues Apologetic Letter To Ndigbo Of Lagos by Boss13: 9:31pm On Apr 06, 2015
Well I would be shocked if the Oba actually made the statement. Those who alleged that he made the threatening statement are unfair people.

I retract my statement because I have watched a video clip of the Oba making the statement. A terrible shame indeed. Nobody can detect to a nigerian where to stay, what to do and what rights he should express
Politics › Re: Ohanaeze gives Oba of Lagos 48 hours to withdraw threat to Igbos by Boss13: 9:26pm On Apr 06, 2015
jayfolarin:
Oh really? War chants and drums! Better take it easy oo coz I don't believe the Oba will apologise. If any of these people have a first hand war experience, they won't be heating the polity like this!

Oba is the monarch of lagos, he has to protect the interest of lagos first. The very many projects that will make lagos the number 1 city in Africa are underway by the APC government and he feels the igbos do not like and want this coz they don't want the yoruba region to be way ahead of them should nigeria break up (God forbid). You can only understand his frustration at any attempt to scuttle the advancement that has been witnessed in Lagos state in the last 16years.

Anyways I blame the PDP solely for this!!! The same strategy of divide and conquer that cost GEJ the presidency is what is being deployed in lagos by JK. PDP will never learn.
This getting 30 likes depict the madness killing this country. There are several ways to court people, threat is the way of a mad man. If there are important projects, it only takes the Oba to explain to the Chiefs and not threaten an entire ethnic group. He has done no good to ambode campaign and I believe the igbos, a stubborn ethnic group, will call of the bluff of the Oba and vote based on their personal conviction
Politics › Re: Oba Akiolu Solidarity Thread by Boss13: 9:15pm On Apr 06, 2015
The Oba should come out and clear the air if he did not make the statement. Such statement can actually create tension. Obas should be apolitical and not dictating candidates.

Politics › Re: The Buhari Nigerians Don’t Know – David West by Boss13: 12:57pm On Apr 06, 2015
A good read. I must confess that Tam David West was very pronounced in criticizing Jonathan even though they are of the same ethnic group. He was also full of praise for Buhari. Reading this interview you will understand why. David west has nothing but admiration and confidence for our president elect.

I also paid good attention to speeches Buhari made in public. He always made references to his party rather than to himself. However, I am afraid of the people around Buhari. If he crosses them, there will be internal friction in the party. If he gives them free will, then there might be no different with what was observed in Jonathan's administration
Politics › Re: Financial Times Newspaper Hails Tinubu As The Godfather Behind GEJ's Defeat(Pic) by Boss13: 10:16am On Apr 06, 2015
kastonkastrol:
tinubu is really a strategist who understands how Nigeria politics work. Jonathan should have never allowed him to form an alliance with the north. The northwest/southwest alliance is one that can never be beaten in Nigeria. The moment I saw odualand states being won by buhari, I knew that it was game over for jonathan.

Unfortunately, an igboman can never be president if he doesn't form an alliance with one of the majority tribes(yorubas or hausas) and that's the bitter truth. Igbos should drop their "I hate north/southwest" attitude if they really want to be relevant in Nigeria's politics

In another news;

Ambode 2015
We support
THIS IS NOTHING BUT HARDCORE TRUTH. What the igbos lack is clear leadership. The alliance is a necessity because 5 states cannot be the entire nigeria. They can either form alliance with the Niger deltans, north central and core north or with the south west, north central and south-south else all we would hear for a long time are stories

Politics › Re: Why Jonathan Lost To Buhari – Sanusi by Boss13: 10:07am On Apr 06, 2015
Our democracy will not grow if we focus on jonathan vs Buhari. It is actually PDP (16 years) vs. APC (future/intending 4 years). For 16 years, our fundamental problems are yet to be resolved. While some leaders were trying to set the pace, others came to destroy it.

We must be grateful to Yaradua who set the pace for a free and fair election and to Jonathan who simply continued with the process. We will only pray that Buhari consolidates the process because it would be the only way the electorates can respond to the performances of their leaders.

Another factor I feel Buhari should look into is making political office less juicy. This will discourage ambitious and hungry politicians and even youths from going into politics but look for other alternatives, like business to achieve their ambition.

I am a very staunch supporter of GMB,but,i don't support the impeachment of fayose.I believe he should be forgiven. SAY NO TO POLITICAL VENDETTA.
Well I think it is not a personal vendetta. Fayose abuse his office and the rule of law. He brought thugs to beat up judges and torn up court records. He chased house of Assembly members out of their office. I believe he should answer to all these atrocities and I feel no pity if he is impeached. He got power drunk

There are certain things about this whip that I can't explain in public. If you're interested, just state your offer and if it works,we do biz. But take note,I haven't intentionally inflated this price. As a bizman,I can't start giving you details of why it's on the high side. Thank you.
Chief I just stated my observations and did my calculations. Even if you purchased the car at inflating dollar rate, the highest pips dollars got to was at N225. This is a c250 and not a c300. To be honest with you, the price you are stating is for an E350. I'm not trying to burst your bubbles and sorry I cannot make an offer when the price is twice the market rate.

I apologize if my statement is offensive but it's just my thought.

eagleeye44:
OP Your price is ridiculous, c'mon a brand new 2014 C250 is just about that or slightly above, you can't possibly sell a used C250 for near that. Wake up undecided
My point exactly. This car cost $16,000 at auction export, plus fees and shipping $3200 and then clearing $5,000. Exchange rate of N200 to a dollar, you get $24,200 at N4,840,000 to your door step. Comparing that to N8,800,000; that's an estimated profit of N3,960,000 (45% - 50% profit margin) very exorbitant. SMH
