naijadeyhia:Kai shut up |
This situation is just so sad and that's because we have an ineffective policing system in this country. That road from Orile down to Old Ojo road and even inside Festac is a hot zone. Are the police aware - yes and are they doing anything about - No. The residents of that vicinity at left at the mercy of these hardcore criminals. I was shot 5 times on that road at exactly Suru-Alaba in 2010 on my way to Festac because some bunch of criminals wanted to rob me. Graciously enough, the bullets did not hit me because I bent down and probably they were too intoxicated to identify me I however picked the bullets inside my vehicle. What was the most valuable things with me - my blackberry storm phone. I was not with any reasonable cash. Did I inform the police - yes. Did they do anything - No. Annoyingly, I was not the only compliant and the Orile police DPO as at then was fully aware of the situation. He was the one that corrected me on the exact location the shot me. If we have a responsible and effective police there would be no need to lynch supposedly criminals, perhaps there might be little crime. |
LynnPetra:Go and get some help. Your priorities and mindset are mixed up. You are in desperate need of a psychologist and possibly your environment might have been the cause. I do not say this to mock you, but out of deep concern for you. Help yourself. |
LynnPetra:I have told you that you need help and the more I read from you, the more I shake my head. I probably will excuse you if you are student, which would make you still young, but that is not an excuse. You will certainly remember my comment especially when you do not change your priority and mindset. |
naijafeminist:Laughs, read my previous comments. I did not talk about ladies not wanting me because of financial capabilities. On a more serious note, some ladies stopped dating me during my bachelorhood because they said I was arrogant and that made me express the willingness to want to change my behaviour. I am still a bit obnoxious and have a very visible overtly confidence. I have come to understand that in the Nigerian market, you need that confidence, what is it again they call it, PACKAGING - YES. However, it can put some people off and then I adjust and protrude a humble part of me especially when I know on the food chain ladder, you are higher. It is good you know how to cook, but cooking is not everything. Build some skills, add some value to yourself. Learn a new language, add more to your education, build a business. I don't know where you are on the cadre of life, but you need more and if you certainly do want a rich dude, nothing wrong wanting good things - RIGHT, but you must be worth it. |
LynnPetra:You cannot take criticism/advice - laughs. Seriously, jokes apart, you do need help. I am in my study room working and unfortunately this thread caught my attention. I will definitely be with her, we sleep on the same bed, plus I kissed her like I said and returned. She was wondering. So back to you getting some self-help. You have to be urgent with it. If you are serious, I can recommend some good doctors, but I will not pay for it because I am not a philanthropist and you have been rude to me. |
naijafeminist:I do not know how to cook, though I would love to. When I visited Mauritius with my wife, we went to a restaurant owned by an Australian or New Zealand, can't remember. I think he is from New Zealand but grew up in Australia. He is a great chef, my wife teased me about it and I decided to ask him to teach me a few skills. He was extremely glad, laughs. I only did that to hide my face from the embarrassment. There is absolutely nothing wrong for a man to know how to cook. I did not learn because I lacked the interest plus we have maids who did the cooking and I was much happy to eat, than stay in the kitchen. It also affected my sisters but they have gone to culinary schools and are doing well for their family plus I have tasted their food, that is why I advised you to do the same if you do not know how to cook. There is no shame in it. It only becomes a shame when you do nothing about it. I will certainly learn how to cook and prove to my wife that I can cook and probably let her enjoy my new acquired skills, but that should be when I retire. For now, I am busy, the market is tough and cooking is NEVER in my thought process, except now that you brought my attention to it. However, to make you happy, I can boil water. Though it's being a while I did that. Any skills can be acquired, it takes the will and persistence/determination to acquire the skill. |
LynnPetra:Smile! You continue to depict how lowly you are. It is possible that your parents tried to do a good job with you but you derailed and I will not insult your parents, who are certainly not the same age category with mine. I am extremely glad to inform you have got a wrong mindset and a wrong mindset is a disease. I don't know you and I am not interested in knowing you, but you have a diseased mind that requires a psychologist. Why do I say so - You have never met me, neither have you met my father and not sure if he is alive or dead, but you are quick to insult someone you have never met before, never wronged you and someone you would probably will never meet. Such kind of person truly is sick and needs to see a doctor. I can also tell you with verified facts that I am also not your age mate, do not belong in the same class with you, you likewise, do not have the same educational status with me nor belong to world-class professional associations nor well read or traveled than me. I do not say I am better than you because I don't believe one can be better than anyone, some of my workers are more skillful than me - but I believe I have and still living a privileged life, and all thanks to the sacrifices of my hardworking parents, who are now at peace with themselves, gave to me. I will strongly advise you to look inward and do a self-assessment of yourself - what are those values you lack because it appears that you lack a lot of them. There is still time for you to help yourself out. |
naijafeminist:I am not complaining I am just disgusted. I started out as an employee but now I have a company with workers who work for me. I am not extremely rich, but I have a strategic plan and I am grateful I have workers and a partner committed to achieving the long-term strategic goals of my company. Thank God the recession has not caused much of a strategic drift and hopefully, we shall get close to our annual objective for the year. I stay in a lovely secure estate in Lekki paid for by my company as part of my benefit in kind (B.I.K) and two cars (though finance leased, but not from my pocket). I am also married with kids, so I do not belong to the mental categorisation you probably would have placed me and you can clearly see I am not also your age mate. I strongly criticise girls of your type because I dislike lazy girls and there are lots of them around especially in Lekki, always trying to stare right inside your vehicle. I say this not to brag but to show that money is just a tool and not a master and anybody, even a dog can get rich or accumulate some money for themselves. Hence, I wonder why ladies should pressure young men to sort them out, whilst they, themselves are equal to sort themselves out. I met my wife as a young man still dreaming and she believed, analysed with me and assisted in saving my money for me. She was and still of huge value to me. Hence, I don't get why women these days think differently. So get your priorities straight and be of value. |
dairykidd:Well it is up to them. I am married. Marriage is a choice and not a do or die affair, but a sweet marriage is truly a bliss and one to die for. If they do not want to change their priorities, what is my business! However, they should not blame anybody, even their ex-boyfriends or ex-husbands but themselves. I just strongly dislike Nigerian girls who are lazy to work but want all the goodies of life. |
LynnPetra:At the bolded - That is very possible, Nigeria is a poor country and there is nothing absolutely wrong if their mothers sell fufu to make sure that their sons have a good life and nothing wrong if their mothers pound yam or fufu to feed her children (her own children again). My mother proudly pounded yam and fufu for me and my siblings to eat and it was extremely tasty not the grinded ones we have in the market today. Women who do this have been an epitome to behold and the values that still keeps the country. Only a good mother who wants the best for her sons and daughters will do such, she has alternatives - like sleeping around or abandoning the children. No, a true strong Nigerian/African woman wants the best for her children because she strongly believes that the future will certainly be good and not what ladies, like yourself, think of these days. I know your type, they work for me and I pity their boyfriends. Hence judging from your rude and disgusting comment, I wonder what sacrifice you will make for your children. I thank God for my wife, apart from her very vivid beauty, she really has my best interest at heart and as matter of fact, I am going to my living room to give the mother of sweet beautiful children a kiss and thank God for bringing her my way and for not allowing me to meet people like yourself. Well me I no dey take nonsense sha and I lack the impatience to stay 5 seconds with girls who have lost their priorities. |
naijafeminist:Please if you do not know how to cook, go and learn how to cook and stop making an excuse on an unrelated issue. There is still time for you and there are many culinary schools in the country. Help yourself now. |
naijafeminist:Why do you think a man who dates you should have money? Why can't you have the money? You are both humans with capable hands - anything wrong with your brains, hands, ability or business acumen? |
LynnPetra:A bad man will be a bad man. I can confidently tell you from personal experience and from the experiences of friends and close aides and relatives. You can even read the daily lifestyle newspapers, lots of stories there to guide you. Money does not change the core nature and behaviour of a man, it only enhances that behaviour - like a catalyst. I don't know if you understand what a catalyst is; if you do good enough. |
intbizoil:For what now, she made her bed, let her lay on it. |
3sexy: At the bolded, how many young guys are rich? Let's be honest about it. A young man of 25 - 30 is still in the planning phase. They are going after married men, who are willing to spend. Let's call a spade a spade. |
queenfav:Excuse me, please!!! Why should he pick your bills ? It is a relationship - DATING that is the name and NOT A TRANSACTION. He is just a friend and not your father. Please get your priority straight. He is not your ticket to get out of poverty or sort out mundane bills, is it your responsibility to pay your bills because you incur them or will enjoy the benefits. Good for you that you work - SO SORT YOUR BILLS. Do you ask your female friends or siblings to sort your bills and you are demanding for it? No, you don't you humbly request and if they feel like it, they would assist and even your father, you still ask humbly, despite the fact that you are still his responsibility. So why would you want to bother a young man who is still sorting himself out and you are arrogant about it. I shake my head. Please get yourself some exposure and understand what dating is all about. I think you have lost the main context of an intimate relationship, it is one enjoyed by both parties involved and not where one seeks to get paid for opening her legs. |
LynnPetra:Yeah, you're right, but that does not give you an excuse to be a gold digger. Know your self-worth and respect it. A bad man will be a bad man, money or no money. What you need to look out for are the signs that he truly means well for you and is willing to go the extra mile to make you happy. |
NevetsIbot:Well you better advise and monitor her strongly and the friends she has because it is very easy to convince ladies to fall as victims, these days. There are many men in Nigeria willingly to throw some cash around, only responsible girls can resist the temptation, especially those that don't watch keeping up with the Kardashians |
So what now happens when her husband gets another job? I think Viola does not fit into the Wife categorisation, but the prostitution ring that they have nicknamed to make it sound good - Hustling!!! Very disgusting indeed. These days it is extremely easy to get sex than get a good female friend, talk more of a wife. Ladies get your priorities right, learn how to add value to your future husband rather than living off him like a leech because very soon Nigerian Men may have to start for Wife in Shoprite/Game like the shop for shoes and wristwatches. |
I actually like his clean desk policy, that shows some level of seriousness attached to his work ethics. Ambode must step out of the shadows and take control of his administration; he is a product of godfatherism and what he is facing are symptoms of godfatherism. He should be reminded that his election was a close call and the margin was not so wide, hence he must remove saboteurs from his administration and work with only loyalists. I am not advising that he goes against the Jagaban but seek his wise counsel to do what is more important for Lagosians. On the other hand, Ambode is doing a good job, he is less of a noise maker and an action-doer, unlike his predecessor who has taken his noisemaking to an unprecedented level up to Federal level. He surely would get my support for re-election come 2019, but he must work hard. Lagos needs a lot of restructuring. |
@ OP I wanted to insult you till I thoroughly read your post and observed that you are a lady. God bless your heart, women are true gems of the world. I will be honest, your brother does not deserve your effort. You need to be a man and not a woman. He is capitalising on your emotional self. Do you know how much Uber drivers make? That is why he got drunk because he is making money now. Take your car away from him, in short, give it to another Uber driver and make money from it so that you can buy another car. Distance yourself from your brother or you will regret it in the future. |
Guys, let me close my comment with this last few words. I actually have a close friend that is a very close subordinate to Dangote, I do not intend to reveal the identity because it is a public forum and would be careful with my choice of words because the person will quickly decode. Dangote has a massive aggressive ambition and has developed a strategic plan for 30 years into the future. That plan, as a humble business consultant and finance analyst, is not good for Nigerians; it is good for Nigeria in the short-term, but not good for Nigerians living in Nigeria both in the short and long term. Hence, you may congratulate him, I do congratulate, admire and envy him but he is building an empire that is stronger than any Nigerian Political institution or any institution in this country for that matter. That, in all honesty, is not good. |
tobimillar:You will celebrate him only for a short term, but you do not realise what the long-term impact will be. The people you mentioned their name cannot compete with Dangote anymore. They have created a niche for themselves and not spread their wings. Do you know how much metric tons of rice Nigeria consume in a year? That is the reason why Dangote went into rice processing not because he wants to help the economy and I also understand that his macaroni and spaghetti are of poor quality, now imagine that competence being moved into rice processing, we are left with eating poor quality rice and if you think you as a young entrepreneur can do better in providing quality rice, all he needs to do is lower prices due to cost efficiencies gained via first mover advantage and experience, and your business suffers; or rather he can employ top skills from Thailand to make the rice top quality and you my friend cannot do likewise, so you are forced to close shop. Probably in the future, we would be paying house rent to Dangote. Let us be honest, he is killing dreams and ambitions of young Nigerians. Now, let me ask this question - What does DANGOTE, I mean the business, not the man, stand for? You look at Microsoft, Google and Apple; you quickly mention Technology. How about Tesco, Shoprite, Wallmart; you quickly mention Retail Consumer Goods. How about Dangote, what does it stand for, what does it mean to Nigerians and to people in the World? What is Dangote's core competencies? What is it good at? What industry does it specialise in? Do you know the answer - NOTHING. Dangote as a business is just a business that seeks out opportunities from various industries and enters into these industries and closes up the right to compete and the right for other new growing companies to enter into these industries. It is a Conglomerate, without core competencies, but a vehicle to express the ambition of over-ambitious men. |
EagleScribes:Honestly, it is not good for Nigeria in the long run. Dangote's unrelated diversification, which has resulted to a Conglomerate, can create a problem for Nigeria. Dangote and his present aggressive team will not remain on earth forever, but their companies will outlive them and the possibility of having an incompetent fellow with bad management may result in the collapse of these companies and likewise the collapse of the Nigerian economy in the future. It may not happen in our lifetime, but it is definitely going to happen. It is dangerous for one man to control or have influence over 50% economic activities in a country. Also, there is the need for the Government to set in and control his ambition. We need other players in the economy, if we cannot breed them, we can acquire them through willingly foreign investors. I truly admire Dangote, but his spiral ambition is getting out of hand and indirectly killing entrepreneurship and competition in this country; for example, because Dangote has entered into the Mining and Refinery industries, it will discourage other entrepreneurs to enter into these separate industries. Dangote has the resources and capabilities to outshine any new entrant. |
AngryNigerian:This has been my clarion call. Banks are the vehicle and medium of corrupt practices in this country. It is not a shock to see SKYE bank being involved in this practice, take a look at the Bank and the recent happenings with the Bank. Unethical and bad business practices breed mismanagement and insolvencies. I think it is high time that Nigerians begin to realise their collective powers and start boycotting financial institutions named in these scandals. The reason they exist in business is because of Nigerians. Once there is a boycott or a threat of boycott, they will no longer continue this bad practice. |
I understand that the economic situation in the country is tough, but I do not understand why young men will decide to be dumb and want to get themselves arrested. I just received a text message from 08130640780, below is the content DEAR CUSTOMER, CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA HAS BLOCKED YOUR ACCT & ATM CARD DUE TO INCOMPLETE BVN REGISTRATION, CALL CUSTOMER CARE 08134554303 TO RE-ACTIVATE I called the number, a male voice was at the receiving end called Mr. Segun, I believe that should be a pseudo name. I informed him I just received an SMS and he asked if I had done my BVN, I said yes, then I proceeded to ask him what department does he work in CBN. He hanged up. I called back, he said I should go to any of our Bank. Unfortunately, the guy does not know he has committed a crime - intent to defraud another person. I sent him a text that I am going to track his number and he would be arrested. I don't get why the guy would think people will be gullible. First, CBN does not relate with Bank's customers and they do not have a customer representative department. The CBN, is a Bankers' Bank, a regulator and not a financial intermediary. I am sending this so that it can be broadcasted so people do not fall for it and lose their money, but that guy I will arrest him. Please note the numbers or any subsequent numbers and likewise broadcast to friends and families. |
