The entire nature of the tech industry is designed to only favour a select few deemed the "best of the best".

A country with a solid system of credit is a sign of a developed country. Wealth is built on having access to credit. Do not underestimate the importance of having access to credit. Countries with solid credit system have a very broad middle class. Since it gives everyone access to property ownership, etc. This is simple economics!

It can't always be about money. There is more to life than that. I see a lot of talk about how much you are making. What do you want? Do you feel you can grow in your current job, what are the prospects down the road. Do you want a sane environment to raise a family in? What about security, access to health care, etc. Weigh all those options and then make a decision. Remember, you are in IT, and it has good prospects abroad as well besides the good pay.

Your money alone will not do it. You still have to meet the requirements to get the appropriate visa to get into the US.

Well said. This is likely what happened. They will not joke with Liability issues. I am sure the maximum number of people that can be hosted in the hall is clearly stated on the contract that was signed. Too bad for them they did not abide by the contract. They will not get a dime back!

It was a liability issue. Halls in a hotel have crowd limit in case of emergency. You cannot rent a hall of 200 capacity and try to fill it with 300 people. You will be shut down. The manager acted in the best interest of the hotel. Unlike your typical Nigerian eggheads, Oyibo believe in prevention is better than cure. If any accident happened in that event: 1) Mbaise community would sue for damages. 2) The city will come hard on the hotel for violating city ordinances 3). Insurance may not cover them.

The hotel manager deserves accolades.

I concur. Most Nigerians use MTN. They may have another line, but will still have MTN. Same here. I have two MTN lines. One is strictly for my internet.

So the PC only has a backup of your friends Iphone, and you have used that to restore your own Iphone 7 plus. Unless you have it backed up somewhere else, I do not think you can recover what's been erased on your 7 plus.

I think you should change it with the passport office first, then apply using the updated one on the new passport. It's also important that it matches what's on your NIN.

The system automatically figured that out once I connected to the network. Well, before this message my data was working fine without issues. However, my data speeds became very slow and barely usable despite the device showing 5G and I think 5G+ sometimes. Bottom line, I had to go into cellular settings and change it to LTE from 5G Auto. Thought it was just the airport, so at a different location I changed it back to 5G Auto, but the speeds were still terrible. So I switched back to LTE and used that successfully throughout my stay there.

Maybe after a long long time with questionable speeds in most places. Maybe watch MKBHD's video on the topic & you'd understand the issue.
And oh, 5G sips battery with straw. Not something you'd want for sustained use.

This is an MVNO that will piggyback off one of the major carriers such as GLO, MTN or so. So yes, they will make the market more competitive, as they will have their own plans, sim card, etc. For example some MVNO's in the US are Consumer cellular, Metro, Mint Mobile, etc. In the UK Virgin, Lebara, Tesco, giffgaff, Lycamobile, etc. are all MVNOs
I see people mention that they will not have their own sim cards, etc. That's totally false!

You can't retrieve someone else's SIM card. That you have the person's ID carries no weight. You own identification does not match what's in the system.

If the phone has the appropriate bands used in the country, it will work. LTE bands used in North America include 2,4,5,12,16,29,30, 66. So if the phone is a global one it should work fine. It’s just that most of those Techno/Infinix devices are produced specifically fir a certain market, and may not have all the bands. They do this to cut down on cost.

Not sure about fresh passport. But renewals for sure. Have always renewed our passports in Naija when visiting. Usually takes about a week to 10 days. Have never visited Naija for more than 13 days. Our contact at the Ikoyi passport office always does it.
