This is not the right forum though

1. This only applies to UK residence extending their visas and as it sounds you still dey naija

2. You wouldn't be able to submit application and book appointment anyways without paying IHS. So it's a must you pay (unfortunately)

3. TLS website says it's closed so there's nothing we fit do until they say otherwise. Every prospective student here is also patiently waiting for TLS to open lol

4. It is straightforward. You will be required to fill in your family details and will be asked if they are travelling with you or not

Please I'm about applying for my tier 2 Visa. Now I have some questions. Please I need help.

1) anyone aware if the IHS fee for nhs staff has been stopped as promised by the British prime minister.

2) do you advise I go ahead to pay in the event where 1 above is not known ( it's a family of 4, so its very expensive)

3 ) the TLS are they working or is there any other way of submitting supporting documents. I ask this because the TLS website is saying they are closed for now

4) I would need assistance in the application, as I'm confused as to where I have to put my family in the application.

Is this a Govt school? I've heard cases where one don't need to apply online but only register with the school and get the free 30 hours

I am on tier4 as I type this.
At 3, My daughter got 15 hours per week. Rather than 3 hours per day for 5 days, we made it 5 hours per day for 3 days (she wasn’t getting free meals though)


Last September, she started Reception class.
Take her to school at 8:30am. Take her home at 3:15pm. Monday to Friday. She gets free feeding.

I am 100 percent sure ALL 3 to 4 year old are entitled to 15hours free .... 30 hours is public funds but 15 hours is not public funds for 3 to 4 years , instead classified as early education.

No power now to find the official guidance but it is in the gov website somewhere

Just occurred to me that my lil one got 15 hrs . Completely forgot lol. It's all kids regardless of visa. It's the 30 hours that's public funds

I remember trying to apply for the free 30 hours and was asked if I was entitled to public funds which I wasn't eligible for. Also, I'm not sure if there's 15 hours for Tier 4 students

So you need to be careful so you don't unknowingly apply for public funds.

My NHS letter and water bill comes with just my first and last names...no middle names... while some other come with middle name as seen on my passport and BRP..

I do hope this won't be a problem when i want to renew my spousal visa..

Or you can just walk into any bank branch the uni uses and make payment. It's even easier opening one of the digital mobile banks (e.g Monzo, Starling) in the UK these days provided you have some form of ID.

Hello People, I just started filling my application on the gov.uk site which was different from the old site of visa4uk for my FLr. I am on the 5yr route with BRP to expire on the 9th of August 2020. Please which is one will I choose here as the 5yr route is saying if you want waive as your partner is on benefits (my partner is not on any benefit) or the one that says parents 5yr route. Since there's a valid leave on the date of departure, continuous residence is maintained as long as you spend less than 6 months outside the UK.

One can actually combine tier 1 and tier 2 towards 5-year route leading to ILR

You can only get 5 years using time spent continuously on one visa (I.e Tier 2, Tier 1, Spouse), not a combination of time spent on different visas. The combination of time spent on different visas can be used for the 10 year route.

The time spent studying doesn't apply to the 5 year route but can be used in combination with time spent on other visas for the 10 year route.

There's is also a cap on the number of years that an international student can study in the UK for. So even if an individual continuously studies for, let's say, 7 years (BSc + MSc + PhD), he/she will be not be able to count years spent on T4/PSW towards ILR except they switch to another applicable visa category while still holding a valid leave.

Not in all cases. According to UKVI, there may be exceptional cases for studying at the same level. In this case, Biomedical Engineering to Advanced Manufacturing may be possible as long as he provides a strong justification.

This should not be your prayer or aspiration ........... why spend more money on another MSC. . Hopefully after Biomedical Engineering , doors should open for a job in your related field and then you grow from there

To prove progression - you need to show that the new degree is at a higher level than the previous ......... making MSC to MSC hard to convince that there is a progression

If by "declaring" the children, you mean stating that one has children on one's application form, whether or not the applicant intends to travel with them, that is a given and must be done.

I really don't know how the situation you described might play out, but here's what I know about someone who did it.

She was a lady who was divorced and had 2 daughters, who left them behind here when she went to the UK for a PhD, intending them to live with her sister's family for a while (they were I think 9 and 11 or 12 at the time). That didn't work out (she told me her brother-in-law took in other relations, complicating the situation), so she moved them to their father (ex-husband). That didn't work out too (usual blame the new wife), so after about a year and a half, she arranged herself (her ex contributed financially), got them visas and took them over.

P.S. Note that there's an Immigration Bill currently before the Commons, and with the Tories' unhealthy fixation on immigration, anything can change at any time.

Make sure all your dependants are listed on the form to avoid any issues later.

There's a part of the form that will ask if your kids are travelling with you or not.

I know of a similar case where the wife applied from naija trying to switch visa, decision made and was banned for 10 years knowing fully well the husband/kid were still in the UK.

Really sounds harsh but unfortunately it's what it is. He doesn't fall under the exemption but he could give a compelling reason to justify his re-entry.

You will most likely be required to serve the remainder of your ban while the main application and your child be granted visas.

We are about to apply as a family under Tier 2 for her to resume work in the NHS, However, i was denied in 2013 a visitor's visa to the UK and it was denied under 3207a which is a category for deception. I couldn't challenge it then, however moving forward, my circumstances has changed, and i have a family now and also changed my job from the one i had when i was denied seven years ago. The issue now is that as a family unit, will my past denial with deception alter my chances to move together with my family? N:B this denial was seven years ago, it was a visitor's visa, was single then, My wife is the principal applicant now and she feels that we will be fine because am her dependent with my son, Some people have said different things that it is technically a ban, but on the refusal letter it was not stated so, i need clarity, what are my chances??

Has your friend considered checking the school website or emailing on how to change course? Usually it's straight forward subject to approval (like meeting the new course requirements)

Sorry man, that's why I said not everyone knows. In the first council I lived in, I had to go back to the council office after the initial bill, show them the rules and they got someone from the back office who was obviously more experienced.

But that was cos I went to look for cheap house in the council next to the one the school is located in. The council where the uni is has a ready made form you just complete and they handle everything no wahala....

Really. For some reason, I didn't get exempted from my council in 2018. They insisted I pay the discount

Sorry bros, don't mean to drag. I am here with wife and children on tier 4 visa and have not paid a penny in council tax. Wife has been working full time since we've been here and rules haven't changed. My last council tax letter was earlier this year with full exemption. Which is why I also said based on my experience. I put the link for further clarification and so someone will not say I'm just talking based on my experience...

The link was last modified in 2017, I think the rules have changed and council will tell you otherwise.

Students with dependants don't get full exemption but only get a discount

On the council tax issue, speaking from my own experience, even if the spouse has permission to work and is working, the full exemption still applies for students and dependents. It applies to spouses of international students as well. Some people are not aware of this so if you are sent a council tax letter without the full exemption, you simply go to your council office and tell them you are a full time international student and your spouse has ‘no recourse to public funds’. This has even been clarified in court. The 45 days in advance is for the old premium service which is now closed. You can always get appointment same day, next day, within a week depending on what you want.

Also i read here that one can only apply within 28 days to the expiry date on the BRP..

Mine is 22nd of June 2022.. means i can put in my application from the 24th of May 2022 yeah??

However, the part of picking an appointment date 45 days earlier got me confused.. please can u explain further?

The degree certificate for applicant to prove the level of English language required

A letter from the employer(s) who issued the payslips confirming
1. the employment;
2. the gross annual salary;
3. how long the employment has been/was held;
4. the period over which the person has been paid the level of salary stated in their application; and

A marriage certificate, or a reasonable equivalent

It's not a must you use Shell if they "strictly show only one name on its own bills" (which is strange!). It's very easy to switch especially when there are several providers.
