Funny people.

If a girl is broke she's a dangerous liability. Run from her, avoid her, she's out to suck you dry but use her for sex. If a man is broke it means his future is bright and there's a difference between being broke and poverty. He's a pot of beans cooking and should not feel pressured. She should accept him lazy, broke and all. In fact, he's secretly rich and pretending to be broke so that he won't have to stay in a relationship with her. grin

There's a problem with you people. Not one bit of sensible advice. The usual assumptions are ongoing, but this time in defense of what is normally considered indefensible.

You lot cannot engage in a discourse or argument without broke shaming, shouting poverty poverty poverty - whereas most of y'all are fvcking BROKE.

GUSH!!! 🙄
It's a well-known fact that it is only poor men who look for every means possible to enslave women with their unrealistic expectations. A broke woman isn't filled with as much bile as a poverty-strangulated man. Such men have opinions on everything about women, especially how they should use their private parts (examples on the first page).

And it's clear that's the socioeconomic background of 95% of male posters here. It is why they are angry at women and constantly have something to accuse them of. Poverty and illiteracy—the two traits that cannot be hidden in the way a man thinks. Show me a misogynist, and I will show you a man who has romanced and been impregnated tirelessly by poverty.

Hmmm, sighs
Sad reality of women in Nigeria.
That's why as a woman, you shouldn't give a flying f#¥k what anyone thinks.
Be yourself, the world will adjust
Be unapologetic being yourself
Always put yourself first, yes be intentionally selfish- about your time, effort, physical/career/financial/emotional/sexual/ etc investments.
Why? Because whatever you do, it will never be good enough / appreciated by anyone.
From what I've seen here, I pity Nigerian women. They are told to be submissive, live under the "headship" of men, and told how weak and worthless possessions they are by the same men who will throw the responsibility of finances, marriage, family and the home on them while they evade the responsibilities they claim to dominate. Imagine when a man cheats, it should be a secret and she should hold her family together, but if she cheats it should be a cause for divorce and shame. You can expect they want her to stay celibate and pay for him breaking their marriage.

There's no winning for the women. And it's safe to conclude that the men are sick. Maybe it's poverty speaking through them.

She never disgraced him
He confessed publicly of his affairs because his baby mama was coming out public with the affair.
He basically reported himself and asked for his wife's forgiveness, which she gave him
She forgave him, never once said anything bad about him in public.
He's the one who opened himself up for public ridicule, his wife never did that in any way
Man cheats - his wife is evil it's her fault

Man dies - his wife is evil she killed him

Children are wayward - it's the mother she caused it

woman dies - the Lord is good, a wayward woman brought to justice

Man abandons family - it's the woman she chased him away

Man loses wealth - it's the woman she demanded so much from him

Man cuts off from his family - he doesn't have a brain, it's his wife who did it for him

Man gets sacked - it's his woman she's not supportive she has bad luck

Man cannot feed family - his wife isn't productive she must build her home (he's no more the head)

Man is kind to his wife - of course she's bewitched him, he's under a juju spell from her

There's never a time Nigerian men will take responsibility for their actions and inactions. If they don't blame women, they won't be able to handle their failures.

Very true.
I have been there.
I thought I was strong.
When anyone dies I don't cry. But when I lost my beloved and only sister.
I cried river. I wailed. I lost it. Sometimes I blanked out while walking on the road.
Most times, I will just be talking to someone and pause to ask, so it's true I won't be able to see her again? Funny enough, most of the people I will be asking, did not even know I lost a sister.

When I got to my parents house after we left the burying ground, I saw my dad and the first question he asked was is it true? You mean you have buried her and she is gone for life?

Imagine, this was someone that had died for a week ooh, laid in the morgue yet they couldn't come to terms with loosing her.
They were simply hoping it was a dream, that she will wake up and come back to them.
It dawned on them it was true after all, just when she was confirmed buried.

I tell you my mum almost lost her sanity.

But thank God for good people around.

Loosing a beloved one is an everlasting pain.

RIP once again my dearly beloved sister. I love you with the love of God, you will for ever remain in my heart Sister mi.
That's unfortunately how death is.

Your experience is the truth.

I wonder why we were created to endure such pain as losing someone, why we have to undergo that. Sometimes it's unbelievable. It's something we never recover from. In the strangest moments, even when you think it's over, the thoughts of the lost person will come back.

I don't understand why people must die and leave others in anguish. What is the purpose of life? To love and to grieve until we all pass on? Why?

I bet you've not read that passage yourself...you're just following hear-say.

Read in context and come back to defend your stance.

People just lift a line or verse that suits their narrative.
Don't be afraid to address the second paragraph.

When men have to read their Bible, they always want it not to refer to them. When they read it it is to enforce their narrative on women.

Please, read your Bible with a search for the word infidel and tell us what it says about men being infidels. Otherwise you should call the talk about submission hearsay—unless keeping it that way suits your narrative.

And if that's the case, the bible can mean anything to anyones narrative and isn't a standard. When men don't want responsibility to be men, they avoid that passage. But they are quick to shout that a wise woman builds her house. So what does the head of the home do? Sit pretty? The same way fornication is always preached at women. But to accept being an infidel for being unproductive is very hard. It's new testament doctrine.

Anyway, that is for the males with their gender-based Christianity to figure out. If the bible is allegory when it concerns them but the law where they feel it concerns women.

Exactly. Churches should start teaching the truth. A lot of homes have been ruined because of this erroneous teaching. Women are taught to believe "my money is my money alone but my husband's money is our money". Some women think that they are doing the man a favour when they contribute any little thing in the home. This teaching has left many broken homes in its trail but who among our preachers will be bold enough to lead the revolution?
Rewrite the bible so that it will erase the part where men are to provide for their families or become infidels. But also erase submission, too. Let's all encourage what we like and what favors us.

All of your churchy preaching is always about women. Is it that your Christianity was created only for women, or that you aren't interested in working your own salvation? Remove the mote from your eyes first. The burden of homes, finances, society and religion is not solely for women. Jesus didn't spend his days talking about religion and women endlessly.

According to Britannica, Valentine's Day, also called St. Valentine's Day, holiday (February 14) is a day when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts.

lovers express love with gift and greetings.
Why is it a one sided affair with Nigerians? Hardly will your see ladies giving gift and when they do, it is more likely to be inferior in value to what they expect and demand.
Is the man not a lover?

You guys want customs when it suits you, and then you want secular rules when it suits you too. It's good you mentioned Nigerians. Nigerians have their own customs and traditions for Valentine's Day. Just like other countries do. If it is how it is in Rome, what are you trying to fix? Something as flimsy as one day.

I am only stressing the fact that the word family has long been redefined and reclassified in our time, yet here we are in 2023 pretending we are having a serious debate about the family structure, all while applying a definition which was last considered valid back in the 1970s/1980s. undecided
Based on the motive of the thread, family must and can mean only one thing. The ilk for whom it was intended have come to laud their Immutable Perspective. We all know why the family collapsed—they who must be blamed. They will never accept/consider anything else but what they think and assume, so that they can remain bigoted. It's an inferiority complex thing. That refusal to see other broad views that they display is the fear of the truth.

Bunch of sociopaths
But how did they conclude that is what she went there for? And why is their focus on her, and not on the fact that there is a possible murderer on the loose?

This is why there will always be murderers. Rather that deal with the problem, the men who kill women and other people, they're looking at the symptoms. Even if she were in a church, some men would've murdered her. And still they would look for how to twist it to blame her. After all, the responsibility for their actions lie on women.

Stay sensible.
Until you learn to condemn the boys who murder, murders won't stop happening. A girl was killed in a church some years ago, guess she went for hooking up? What of the girl killed while looking for a job? She went for hooking up, right? Who told you this girl went for hooking up?

Victim blaming and shaming in these matters are hallmarks of people who support boys murdering girls. Whether she was a prostitute or not, nobody should be murdered. She had a right to be wherever she wanted to as a free person.

When the boys doing these things begin hunting men, it is then some of you will learn to be reasonable in your assumptions. Nigerian men are murder apologists once the murdered person is female.

First of all, we don't use a case for einstein generalisation. We can't say because a case such as the one you've narrated up there happened, then everyone who comes on here to spill it all out is lying. No. You said the man was enjoying the insults and bashings on the 35 pages. How does that affect reality? If anyone came on here with a well cooked lie, the highest thing he can get is to get high on the comments, after closing his browser he will fall back to reality (so who is fooling who). And again, since we need to hear both sides of the story to be sure. I'll also like to see the link to the thread, or the man and woman involved in that story up there to assert that truly such thing happened on Nairaland. Since you just advised us not to believe one side of the story
You're the one who with Einstein assumptions firmly in place said that the other side of the story is sometimes a lie. And you were given proof that it may not be, and rather how it provides a balanced view and often debunks lies in original posts that sound as manipulative as this one.

You shouldn't refuse the Einstein generalization on a forum known for lies and fables, when you have Einstein assumptions yourself. To ignore such is to pretend there's no other side to his angelic tale. Why should he be believed? Is there any reason to believe his story that is so one-sided?

I don't have to give you the link to that saga since you've already decided it doesn't exist and makes no difference to your rigid (for reasons that will soon become clear) point of view. How will it affect your perception of what you consider reality if you see it? After all, it's probably a lie you're being told.

Akwana? Did you bother to hear the side of Devil's story or you just believe God's side?

Sometimes , the other side of the story is a lie.
There was a case like this on the forum. The husband came here to tell us all that he was emasculated by his wife. For 35 pages people lampooned women, insulted the hell out of the wife. This guy was happily enjoying the way people swallowed his side of the story.

Then the wife got wind of it, and she told her side of the story. That emasculated mean came out to tell all readers that he was lying, that he made up things so that the responses would favor him. He admitted that everything he said was untrue. Then he deactivated.

Most sides of the story told by men here are lies. Until the wife comes to tell us her side of it, nobody should believe it. It's probably a paid story to generate clicks.

You are concerned about the children returning to school.

But you should also be concerned about those children with a more complete approach. A traumatic incident occurred and you feel these children will be able to focus on their classes with the trauma of seeing their colleague lying dead, perhaps frothing, and rumors that will certainly grip the children in classes. Don't you think those children need a break? They weren't only made to learn.

They shouldn't be in school so that they can all receive some form of counseling. Even the staff need counseling.
