I do not hate you, Max. If I hate you I am a hypocrite, and I will burn in the hottest part of hell!

I just can not stand this rubbish evil boko haram like ideology you are spewing, and if I somehow happen to join you or any group or organisation that believes or teaches it, I will personally take myself to the bottom of some river and bash my head against a huge rock and cut myself into tiny bits and toss my tiny bits in the hottest part of hell so I can weep and gnash my teeth while I burn for ever and ever for being so stupid and ignorant!

I will not do the same to you however because it is my own eye that I must pluck out and my own hand that I must cut off if either or both offend me, and not your own.

MaxInDHouse:
T [s]he endtime began when Jesus walked the earth with his followers {Matthew 4:17 compare to Matthew 11:12} all those who refused to join Jesus' group have missed the mark of salvation as angels moving around will not write down their names {Malachi 3:16} that's why Jesus could refer to living people during his time as "the dead" {Luke 9:60} it has run down to our days.
Satan is seriously working out different schemes to distract people from joining God's people today.
So i'm sorry buda if you're not a baptized JW by now you've missed the mark of salvation. It doesn't really means all the baptised JWs will enter God's Kingdom but it's the first step all prospective citizens of the kingdom of our God must take! Act 2:37-38 compare to Matthew 28:19-20
After this step prospective citizens must continue to meet together with fellow believers for continuous encouragement and instructions! Hebrews 10:24-25
This may sound bitter but it's the truth, go now and ask your JW neighbours on what you must do to be saved, their love towards you presently is just what they must exhibit towards all their neighbours but the mark of salvation is only within JWs.
I have told you, you may hate me for this but if i were you i'll go and ask my JW neighbours if this is true or not. Please don't hate them when they tell you the truth.
The mark of salvation is ongoing presently amongst JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES! [/s] smiley

If Biafra gets her independence through bloodshed and great sacrifice it will forever be in Biafrans mind making them super patriotic and will flood in mass into their military force.
I know they don't teach history in our schools, but has Biafra not already tried to gain "independence through bloodshed and great sacrifice", or are you not Igbo so you never heard the stories of those that were sacrificed in your family?

I think it is time to use the brain to get Biafra, if its worth getting that is, but I get some might just want to die for nothing! Again!

Before any endtime, Max, you will be long dead, or do I need to remind you how many times your endtimes has been postponed already?

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:34

MaxInDHouse:
To you but not to my global family, it's much more than that!

Love God and neighbours: Mark 12:28-31
Mosaic law the Israelites needs in order not to loose the blessings that will come along with being kind to strangers.
Because when the Messiah (Christ) or his messengers (Christians) start the program to dispense life saving information during the endtime only those who have the love for God and neighbours will benefit as they will easily welcome the Christians into their homes! Matthew 10:11-15 compare to Romans 10:13-15
But for Christians Jesus gave us a new law that doesn't involve none JWs! John 13:34-35
This is the law that will remain in the midst of God's people when all the gifts of the spirit are no more active {1Corinthians 13:8-13} of course due to our keeping the greatest of all Mosaic laws (love for God and for neighbours) many people like you may not observe the difference, but if you're a diligent observer you'll notice that despite loving all our neighbours JWs have greater love for fellow JWs! Galatians 6:10

I would go even further and say a true Christian should be prepared to die for their God as a last resort, but long before dying, have we even applied the teachings of Christ which include Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Love, to our Muslim neighbours?

The answer is a categorical No! We have not learnt the teachings of Christ yet we claim it fails as if it is a lie that though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we must fear no evil: for thou art with us; thy rod and thy staff they comfort us; and a table will be prepared for us in the presence of those who consider us their enemy and the anointing of oil on our head will make our cup runneth over so we will have more than enough to share with our neighbours such that goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lifes as we dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Christianity Etc › Re: There Are No TRUE Christians On Nairaland by budaatum: 11:50am On Jun 04, 2021
I am going to comment despite your devious attempt to keep me out. I see through you Happy and you clearly failed!

Christianity, if you mean, following the teachings of Christ, is a very difficult thing to do, first, because Christ taught quite a lot. Its not just the Gospels, you see, but every Word God wrote plus every Word Christ read and studied, which, if you consider where he went to school must have been quite a lot, but many don't even get through the one book we know he read which is the Tanakh, and this is despite him being written to have said, those who live by one book alone will become malnourished.

Which brings me to my second point, which is that many are trying to be followers of Christ by reading just one book, which is like wanting to be a medical doctor or an engineer and only finishing the first year of university. I need not tell you what type of doctor or engineer that would make one.

The Bible itself is a very complex book, which is rarely understood, and despite it being written that devils believe and tremble, many think that is what must be done. We believe, and you see us tremble, and you conclude that we are not true Christians, when the truth is we are mostly in year one and are learning and will one day understand instead of merely believing and trembling.

buda loves you unconditionally, Happy. If you cyber slap buda, buda will cyber turn the other cheek again and again and again 7 times 70 times not because buda believes that buda must cyber turn the other cheek, but because buda understands the power of cyber turning the other cheek.

To start with, the cyber hand you cyber slap buda with will eventually cyber tire you see, and you'd start to wonder if buda's cyber cheek you cyber slap is made of cyber leather or cyber something else and then will you eventually instead of cyber slapping buda's cyber cheek begin to ask questions like does cyber slapping buda's cyber cheek not cyber hurt buda, or where does buda get buda's weed from and why are you cyber slapping buda's cyber cheek, and when you start to ask and knock and seek might you too begin to understand the power of turning the other cyber cheek instead of cyber slapping buda's cheek.

But don't you take my word for it now and simply believe and tremble. Start cyber slapping buda's cyber cheek and let us see if what I say above does not happen before you've cyber slapped buda's cheek 7 times 70 times or if you do not yourself continue being a true Christ follower who freely teaches Python skills!

You said one must obey the Torah. I too wrote very coherently about how no war of religion is on record before the advent of Christianity and Islam
So, my Lord, the Titans fighting against the Olympians is not record enough for you of a religious war before the advent of Christianity and Islam?

Or is it the fact that the record that comes down to us is mythologised as if it were Gods fighting that makes you miss the actual event that has been mythologised?

We Yorubas have a mythology of a war between Obatala and Oduduwa, but most think its about gods too and don't realise its just bad journalism.

On record that you have come across, my Lord, is what you mean, and despite all your resistance, I am increasing your record so you can correct it since I am sure you know your record hardly includes all that has been recorded! So make sure you read past the title, my Lord.

Why were there no religious wars between pagans before Christianity took over Europe?

Generally speaking, when two pagan sides fought, it was acknowledged that the losing side had weaker gods than the winners, but the weaker gods were still considered 'real'. Sadly, the biggest obstacle to writing about pre-Christian religious wars is simply the lack of writings describing the war and the reasons for it: as such, we rarely have more than a "our gods say it's ok to kill these guys". If you want some examples of that, though, there a fairly large number:

Every war waged by the Pharaoh of Egypt was practically a religious war, since the Pharaoh was the leader of Egypt's main religion.
The Jewish wars in the old testament (like the Battle of Jericho) were almost all religious wars, at least according to the Bible.
The Persians apparently burned Greek temples in the various Persian invasions of Greece, so Alexander burned down the Persian palace in response.
The Vikings literally had a religion centered around war.
In the America's, wars were fought to capture slaves for the purpose of sacrifice, at least while the Aztecs were still around.

For forced conversion into a polytheistic religion, there's the example of Antiochus IV of the Seleucid kingdom, who tried to force the worship of Greek gods onto Jews, thereby sparking the Maccabaean revolt.

The Aztecs waged war on their neighbours to take sacrifical captives and slaves, and deliberately left their enemies as rump states so they could declare war on them again and again, practically farming them for sacrifices to their god.

Many Chinese civil wars had a significant religious element to them. One of the most famous was the Yellow Headscarf Rebellion (184–205 AD) which was led by adherents of a Taoist sect called the “Path of Supreme Peace”. They proclaimed the rebellion a struggle between the old “Azure sky” (Han dynasty, largely a Confucian entity, at least in words) and the new “Yellow sky”.

The Roman invasion of Gaul, which saw pagans on both sides of wars that lasted several years. After the Romans had succeeded in their cause, they set about suppressing the Gauls’ Druid priests, constructing their own temples over Celtic sites, and turning “holy springs” into thermal spas . Worship of native gods might be allowed, but that was largely only the case if such practices did not preclude the conquered from observing the practices of the Roman cult.

The Germanic Saxons, Angles, and Jutes invaded Celtic Britain, and they brought with them their own pagan beliefs, which they would eventually abandon for Christianity. Subsequently, other Germanic peoples would invade and bring pagan beliefs back to then-Christian Britain. In each of these cases, preexisting beliefs may have been tolerated to a certain extent, but the conquering peoples’ religious beliefs virtually always came to replace those of the conquered.

Christians were persecuted by Romans authorities because they were “other,” because they refused to honor the local gods and so dishonored both the gods and their worshippers, they refused to worship the Emperor and were thus disloyal to the state. Persecution of Christians happened in a variety of ways including social ostracization, confiscation of property, loss of public office, anti-Christian riots, and spasmodically in capital punishment. Perhaps the most well-known account is that of Nero’s cruel pogrom against Christians in Rome in the mid-60s AD. Tacitus noted how Nero blamed Christians for the burning of Rome. He picked on the Christians because by they were hated by the masses and they were tortured for public amusement! Now I could go on and mention the martyrdoms of Bishop Ignatius (ca. 110 AD), Bishop Polycarp (ca. 150 AD), Justin Martyr (ca. 165 AD), and the Perpetua and Felicity (ca. 203 AD) to name a few. But the post is long enough and you get the point. Pagans killed Christians because they hated them!

All of the above are just a few examples of pagans making war because of their religion. I copied these from historians. Most paganism was not peaceful .

I do not care what anyone believes Max! Jesus argued intensively with those who thought the crappy beliefs in their heads mattered more than the fruits that they produced, and called them all hypocrites, so why will I claim to have learnt from Christ and then make the mistake he constantly taught against?

Here is an example of being enslaved by belief. It stops one from learning, which is why Christ said "unless you become as a child" which means beliefless, as opposed to believe like Max, or like buda or like a Christian or a Muslim or atheist!

I suggest you pay more attention to my writings Max, and perhaps you will understand the point I constantly rant on about on here, that there is absolutely no merit in emulating satan!

Christianity Etc › Re: What Is God? by budaatum(op): 10:01am On Jun 04, 2021
budaatum:
But that shouldn't preclude me from saying what god is to me, so, here goes.

God fills gaps. Sorry theists, but it's a fact. When many try to describe what God is, you would find a gap of ignorance being filled. Take the creation of the universe for instance. Rather than claim, "I don't know how the universe was created", a religious person would claim God done it, but if they were honest, they would admit that they believe God done it, thereby filling a gap in their ignorance. The truth is, no one knows how the universe came into existence billions of years ago, but since it seems to work so well, it is logical to assume something was behind the existence of the universe, hence, God fills the gap.

A reading of the Christian scripture clearly states that no one has ever seen God. Jesus never showed anyone any God either, not even the Kingdom of God did he show. And as for Jesus being God, I'm afraid I do not get that from my Bible. To me, Jesus was the embodiment of God, and by that I mean he so followed what was taught in the God books of his day and time that he was as close to God as many got. He even went as far as saving many by teaching them better ways to exist and relate to one another, and in my opinion, worshipping him is meaningless if by worship, "do my will" is not meant. The clue for this is in his "even moreso than I have done shall you do", which includes even raising the dead and living everlastingly, which, considering people died before their 40th birthday in his day, our comfortable 70 years more than qualifies. As to evidence of raising the dead, go to a hospital and you might get my gist. Doctors save people's lives everyday through the knowledge that they have acquired.

To claim God is anything in particular is tantamount to creating an image, which we humans are very fond of. When we ask someone what their religion is, we are asking so we know what image of them we may hold in our heads. However, humans are not simple images as you may be able to tell by considering the little we know of even those who are very close to us. Yet, we can't help with our image making it would seem, for making images we must, with recognition that since our knowledge of God is limited and a gap filler, to claim God is any one thing in particular, is limiting God to our limited knowledge of God, when in truth, God is way much more than we conceive with our limited minds.

So, with that in mind, I am offering 951 Names and Titles of God as what God may be conceived to be, along with a pdf download of One Hundred Names for God according to Katrina's Dream and Names of God in Islam. You may not agree with them all, but I'm certain you'd find a few that fit any conception of God that you might have ever conceived.

Do note though that God is in no way limited to all or any of these 'whats' that God is listed as being! In truth, we are figuring out daily what God is, and increasing in knowledge everyday. And to claim to know what God actually is, is just as foolish as saying, there is no God, in my opinion. For no one has truly seen God (unless you have, of course).

As to my screaming it from the mountaintop if I were that way inclined, I'm waiting to know what to scream since I am that way inclined.

I don't care for Gods, Max, is what you fail to get. As far as I am concerned you could worship a piece of wood for all I care, but if you claim to worship your wood according to the Bible, your fruits will be judged by the standards set in the Bible which clearly does state that "inasmuch as I do for Max and all those that are around me regardless of their God or religion or faith or belief or colour or tribe or sexual preference or the least one, I have done for God that I see not", but if I do not for Max and all those whom are around me, then:

We need more knowledge and not less, and with more knowledge comes more technology to ease the strains of life. I dream of a great future for we Nigerians once we realise that being like stupid afraid to die Adam is slavery while using the senses like Eve did will set us free from bondage, because it is very obvious that on the day that she ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil she did not surely die, but she found instead that it was good for gaining wisdom, and her eyes opened, and she freed herself and Adam from bondage in the Garden of Eden and went on to have offspring who's descendants now populate the earth and are on the way to Mars and Jupiter and Uranus!

Please note how incensed angry angry you have made me. Even satan worshippers and atheists do not enrage me like you have and you know that's buda saying a lot!

Can you please paste the comment i made that depicts evil against anyone?
Why? Are you only just now noticing what I have been saying to you in post after post on this thread with your comments attached or are just trying another evil tactic thinking you can like satan waste my time?

Sorry Max, but on both counts, you fail! Go back and read the thread to see what you've been wilfully ignoring instead of asking me to feed you again!

I am grateful my JW neighbour is nothing like you.

We are meant to read them and learn the messages they contain...
And it is precisely the message they contain and that you claim to have learnt and that must be obeyed that I am kindly begging you to teach to me please, hence my questions.

I mean, you do recognise that the quoted text is about the second order given to humans by God as written in the Torah, and must therefore be important, and why I have asked that my lesson begin with it, right?

So I ask again Master Sonm. And thank you in advance.

It is written in the Torah:

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Will you obey such a command?

And why?

And what are the consequences if you obeyed or disobeyed?

LordReed:
I'm sorry buda but you are wrong. If we simply broaden definitions till everything fits in one big circle then there is no point in making distinctions. No war of idealogy was over religion, simple.
But that is not true. Since religion is an ideology, all religious wars are wars of ideology.

LordReed:
What you are saying is like someone saying there has never been a cyber war until the advent of supercomputers then you say no the person is wrong because war must always have a theater so it doesn't matter that its a cyber war.
No, my Lord, your analogy is upside down and the wrong way round. For it is you who is claiming there were no wars when there were no supercomputers.

I am saying "there have always been wars", and since there have always been wars there have always been reasons (ideologies including religion) for the wars, and theatres (cyber, on the battlefield or in the mind), which change with the time. And calling them theatres alone shows they are not a cause but just the field, while the god can just be a tool similar to a bow and arrow or a nuclear bomb in some instances, or the cause of the war, as in that fought by the Crusaders and the Islamic Jihadists (though I say cause with reservations because I believe the religion is just a cloak for the wars).

There were wars before Islam or Christianity, my Lord. Caesar was a warlord going about conquering everywhere, and neither Islam nor Christianity nor cyber had nothing to do with any of it. The Greek states fought numerous wars amongst themselves and religion was not the cause, but actually a tool that was used to fight the wars just as the God was a tool used to attack the walls of Jericho and not that which was fought over.

LordReed:
There is a reason for definitions and distinctions, waving your hands will not wish them away.
You know I'll therefore ask you not to wave your hands, don't you my Lord. lol.

All wars were ideological. And religion is just one ideology that wars were fought over, and the fact that you "looked through a compilation of the history of war" and found no record simply means it was either not recorded where you looked, or rather and more accurately, you have not yet considered that all wars are wars of ideologies of which religion is just one.

Consider the following. Mao fought a war of ideology as did Hitler and neither ideology fits the definition of religion. Caesar and the Greek States that I have mentioned above and Constantine the Great fought ideological wars too and used religion as a tool.

Its a case of which is a subset and which is the whole, and I am suggesting that religion fits into ideologies and not the other way around.
