Some loot the treasury. Use looted funds to build well gated houses, hide the children inside, use bullet proof vehicles to get them to the best schools, bribe teachers to pass their children, send them to schools abroad with the looted money, bring them home to continue the looting process. No wonder their children are junkies and never able to organise themselves. Thankfully Obi has well trained, independent children, unlike some who have joined their papas in the campaign to continue the looting. Painfully some who choose to continue living miserably support them. A bag of rice now is at 42,000 - 48,000. APC met rice at 8,000 and shut the borders to protect local industries. They reopened the borders long after prices of food items had gone beyond control. Now the so called common man cannot find food to eat. Bread and its companion beans (the common man's food) have become luxury for many. APC wetin we do una? Thankfully they are exiting next year. |
Chai. No giraffing, no side talk, no invisible pen, no bend down look inside wrapper, no plenty wahala for invigilators. More crying for OLODOS, more settlement. |
Be OBIdient. Simple. |
Cyntie55:They may not wake up in the morning on dry land if they do not heed the warming Government has given the necessary advise. Citizens have the responsibility to listen. When huge storms, tsunamis, etc threaten citizens and states, government informs them and ask them to relocate for their safety. It may be difficult or tasking financially, but staying safe is of prime importance. At this period of the year citizens who reside along the flood prone zones are aware, as they see the rising water. Some do not wait, as water overruns them speedily. In all, government has the major role of dredging the rivers and building dams. Once those are in place, the threat becomes far reduced. |
An employee received his salary and boarded a crowded bus back to his home, and there was a thief in the bus, so the theif stole the employee's money from his pocket. After the employee had reached his destination and the driver asked for the fare, the employee found nothing in his pocket, his face blushed and his tongue became heavy, so the driver said mockingly: Shame on you, you consider yourself a respected person while you can not afford your transport fare! Pride hit a potion of the thief's ego and he said to the mocking driver: My brother, the teacher's fare is on my me! The thief offered to help the teacher, his victim, not out of pity for the poor teacher but to buy from the other passengers their trust and confidence, and to use some of the stolen money to earn himself a respect before the rest of the passengers in the bus. The poor employee smiled and said to the thief: May God bless you and multiply your likes, sir! Then some of the passengers in the bus praised the thief, praised his kindness, and also prayed for him and that God should increase his kinds. Since then, the number of thieves has increased, and they still receive our thanks and appreciation; We are still on a bus where thieves rob us, and we thank them for their kindness. This is the metaphor of the state of our nation, Nigeria! Looking at what the politicians are campaigning with, and what their supporters are praising them for, one cannot do but say that: indeed, the victims of the thieves on our bus this year are supplus! The politicians rob us our education to send their children overseas to get standard education They rob us our peace but travel oversea to enjoy peace in another man's land. They give us death-traps as roads but fly in their expensive planes. They deny us electricity but buy themselves fuel to power their generators. They do all of this on the detriment of our collective comfort and rights, they equally weaponise poverty to bait us with the crumbs falling from their dining tables during election time. Our only means of having the feelings of what it feels like graduating from a standard institutions is when we see their children being celebrated on the social medias; we aren't even invited- who invites the downtroddens to feast?! While they do this, they save some of the stolen money from the national treasury and then share it among us to buy our consciences under the guise of helping the electorates and then some of the oppressed citizens praise them, thank them and celebrate them. This is the reason why the politicians who are stealing our money from our national treasury are increasing. No matter how big a politician gives in this Nigeria of today, he deserves no appreciation, what he deserves is to explain when he is going to return the rest of the money and then ask for forgiveness from the people they have stolen their all to buy themselves all of the comforts in another man's lands. The thieves in our bus are increasing all the time because we continue praising them for returning small from the plenty they steal from us. Happy Weekend to us all. |
APC equates to shamelessness. They now make the whole of Nigeria look like a single IDP camp with beggars everywhere. Buhari's government failed on all indices to meet up with its responsibilities and private citizens now bail out fellow citizens. Those acclaimed to have looted funds, openly use such funds to canvass for votes, from the same people who they tax daily and impoverish. China became great with zero tolerance for looters. They are shot by firing squads. This Ahmad shamelessly has ignored the fact that a bag of rice now goes for 42,000 - 48,000. He has completely left the substance and chases the shadow. Nigerians have never had it so bad. APC met rice at 8,000 and within the reach of the so called common man. As APC gets to the exit gate of their inglorious and misery producing years, they leave Nigerians in a far worse state than they met them. Is Obi's donation, earned from very clean efforts, a matter to concern himself with? Ahmad himself should tell us how much he has ever donated, with all his years around the seat of power. skylarr:They should be located on your 2x6 bed, so that you can spray yourself every morning from their nozzles. Thankfully Anambra people mention the name of their states, with pride and do not generalise their tribe. Your likes would never tell the public your exact state and village out of shame. Certainly you are from a tiny hamlet with zero civilization. Here you are claiming Lagos as your state, with no input to the growth or development of Lagos. Rather than channel your mind to improve your redundant and confused life, you choose to insult tribes and people, who through their industry and trade make life comfortable for you and your likes daily. Intolerant little brats like you, queue up at embassies of foreign countries, begging for visas to enable you voyage there and claim their citizenships, yet you insult citizens who migrate within their country, on the basis of their fundamental rights. What is your own contribution to the development of your state, if not, sleep, wake up and eat food not provided by you. As you struggle daily, your leaders trample on you, enslaving you and keeping you perpetually subjugated in misery. When will you wake up? |
Great, with a big BUT. The big but there is NO WATER during emergencies. Aside that, firemen seem not well trained all the time. I think training should be more serious, not just because of fire emergencies, but in other serious cases as we find in developed countries. We must congratulate the government and us all, the citizens of Lagos. |
And what have you contributed to someone's life? Please tell us. Or maybe you still reside with your parents and not able to fend for yourself. |
LordReed:And he punishes those who mock him and his people. Remember that. |
Confirmedzombie:Did you read what you wrote? Have you left secondary school? You are truly a confirmed zombie. Nothing dey that your head, except Amala, eba, rice and Indomie. Go find food chop. |
Corrinthians:You have not started life yet, not to talk of achieving anything. At your age, he was already extremely wealthy. He was the youngest chairman of a bank around your age. He was a governor and today, aspires to be your President. A dullard simply is someone who is not bright. Those who are not bright do not achieve those. Those who are not bright look at those who have achieved so much in life and call them non achievers. Those who are not bright allow themselves to be ruled by thugs and touts. That includes University graduates, who prefer agberos to provide their meals. Those of you who come from places where you take responsibility for your actions, how far? Thankfully we have a man who with proven intergrity. A man who we can hold accountable. Thankfully our man is bright |
XerXers:No be small. And to think that a son of the Niger Delta soil, by all means, ensured the building of the rail and the transport University, makes it more difficult to understand. |
No be APC? Na their way. |
undisputedKOC:Lazy men who drink ogogoro from morning till night shouting marginalization. Every corner you find your women practicing akuna work, Nationwide. Women who support their lazy men with ogogoro, bearing twenty children with strange names. Which women can be worse than yours? Very dirty, witches who cannot brush their teeth, wash their undies and completely wicked, highly unprogressive. No wonder they are so black in their color like people from Mali. |
Villa12:We learnt that you are into goats, sheep and dogs. Do you have a child? |
The young man according to her had sex with her multiple times from August to October without her consent. She denied it to her husband. Eventually she owned up. Please how does it add up? How can you deny what you know nothing about? The husband too, brought in the police on account of rape. Please was getting her up each time he went to supply water. No be water when e go keep for gate, collect money and walk away? How was he accessing the house, without someone's consent. Police can only charge the young man with "conduct likely.." as they call it. If na rape, nothing there. The man was not meeting up with his night duties. The young man used the day to fix the night errors of the man. |
Fantastic. A 200L student? At 24 years old? Certainly she is a born giver. She deserves very great commendation for this. I pray that Lord sustains her, bless her more and favour her more. May her health never fail her and may her joy be full. I look forward to the day youths on Nairaland will pull resources together to lift someone out of poverty. |
SmartyPants:Agreed he could have reached there. He looked out for the bigger position and failed. Politics is about interests. He did his job but failed. Now he fights for the rights of the South in PDP. Looking at it, was it justifiable for him to contest, seeing that rightfully it was the turn of the SE in his party? While he made his political arithmetic, he failed to read the political barometer, quoting the late Chuba Okadigbo. His battle is justified, but late for now. He who lives and runs away, lives to fight another day. Once out of position, you are out of power and potentially, relevance. Ask all politicians this. That's the reason for their struggles. Wike needs to re-strategize, I think. |
Wasky101:Yes o, we need to keep animals like you in the zoo. |
Zonefree:My friend, Wike has just one head like you and everyone. Young people should not watch older people bamboozle them. He will go into political oblivion, if he is not more circumspect. I admire him a lot, but the truth about him must be laid bare before him by those who love him. Out of power, he becomes like fish out of water. He'll struggle to navigate his way out of power. His friends will go and he'll be left with those who want to "chop his money". Ayo Fayose is out of power. What happening to him today? He's struggling for relevance in his state and nationally. If PDP wins without him, he'll be in deeper trouble. In a few months, Wike with all his wealth will leave power. Others like him remain relevant in the Federal house. He plays his politics in Rivers State largely and with so many enemies, cannot win the Presidential ticket of any of the big parties. |
Na for mouth. When herdsmen hold you, na only you go talk the how far. Finally, he'll fall in line. Hopefully he does not leave it too late. We are OBIdient. Peter Obi is your best choice. With him, no slap and no need for retaliation. With him, you are guaranteed peace all year round. |
drlateef:Olodo. Go school una no go gree. Ask someone else to read for you, no way. Oga dem talk say government dey arrest pipu wen dey collect money for transporters and market people hand say dem be government. Untop of dat , pipu wen say dem dey do owo mi da, dem take police arrest all of dem, come carry dem go court. Na prison dem dey so. Dem say no agbero work for Anambra state. I hope say this broken English do for you. Abi make I kuku write am for ya language? |
SugarGirl44:Truly you are a very irresponsible layabout. I know that you still reside with your parents and are surely not able to fend for yourself. What do you know about Yorubaland? Surely you are born of parents who are touts, hooligans and vagabonds, making you one. How would you dare insult people's parents? Your parents definitely relocated from one hamlet to Lagos, where you were born and now call yourself a Lagosian. You are a pernicious little rat, with no iota of training, hiding under the cover of social media to insult people and tribes. You talk about caves as if you know anything about them. Well I need to inform you this dirty, rag wearing monkey, that you are already living a mniserable life in a cave, filled with bats and sucking your touting blood dry. Muntula. |
Ade3131:Ade, we are saying the same thing. See, the unions do not have the chairman alone making pronouncements of such magnitude, without their members input. The market unions basically run the same way, but some are more unified than others. Government has its role to play in terms of security, but the rest, which have to do with compliance fall on the traders and unions. The ASPAMDA case largely had to do with disagreements among the unions, leading to government intervention. Except for robberies before now, Alaba market has been a very peaceful place to buy and sell. The unions work well and there is good collaboration with Ojo local government, despite the extortion. Truly we have a systemic failure. Government seems to abdicate its responsibilities. Part of government's responsibilities is the provision of security and adequate infrastructure for ease of doing business. Alaba is a market started by a group of Igbo traders in 1979. They relocated from Alaka to that area and over time, that market has become what it is today. The same goes for Trade fair market, relocating from Lagos Island. All the traders there carry out their businesses with happiness and do not want to be molested. The problem lies with the touts, who just want to make life unbearable. Ironically a lot of them have shops within the market. The challenge also is exacerbated by the security agents, who have made their uniforms, their personal shops. Those who should provide security, are the same people involved in the business of extortion. The traders have always paid charges, but these charges have been multiplying. With the Nigerian challenge, a lot of traders have been sent packing. Note that I have not included government taxes here. Government can make the difference by intervening. Government needs to collaborate with the market unions, the Oba, the legion of touts (since touting appears like a legitimate trade in Lagos) and the security agencies. The market unions only insisted that government must call them all to order before they can call for the opening of the place. Alaba case is not like Ladipo, where government has severally closed because of its dirty habit. It's not 100% but its but it's not dirty. The proceeds are very huge. They make over N100 million daily extorting traders. Government can have something done and the revenue converted to government use for the better life of everyone. Let's get government to do the needful for a better Lagos. Cheers. |
SugarGirl44:Your comment wreaks of not just outright ignorance but complete illiteracy. Looking at you, one may erroneously call you educated. Your education, I am sorry to say, seems wasted. How could you, a so called educated person, allow yourself to be ruled by an agbero, who is not educated? If not for ignorance, how would you not read and understand the facts of the matter before making your uninformed comment? Are the traders talking about payments to the owners of the land or the rip off by the so called owners of the land and their unbecoming attitude? I believe that you are still being spoon fed by your parents and not capable to pay bills now, otherwise you will understand that paying such huge sums to is too painful to bear. You use social media space to instigate violence, yet you are not strong enough for physical encounters. See as your head be like monkey own. |
Ade3131:The traders union in Alaba market is very strong, especially inside the main market. If Lagos State government says open the market and the union does not give the go ahead, it will remain shut. The union authorised the closing of the market just as the government played its own part to avoid further damage. This fight was long coming. They have had similar fights in Ladipo and Balogun markets several times. None yet at the trade Fair. It's only traders who feel the pain. Government has to look into the matter. The extortion is unbearable for everyone. Before now, what you could import at the rate of $400, you get at the rate of $750. Now you need to source for more naira to pay for your goods. On arrival at the seaport, tariffs have increased along with VAT. You pay shipping company and terminal owners. Customs do their own. You face transporters and then set off to the market. You encounter customs at Berger and Festac. You encounter NURTW and other touts on the road. Finally you get to Volkswagen where you pay that disputed bulky amount. For youths here who are so childish and cannot reason properly, ask yourselves who pockets those monies go to. They are not used to fix roads or develop the state. Alaba roads are very terrible. When the trucks pass Volkswagen, they encounter the local government team in front of their offices and then the "police armoured tanker" toll gate. Other ones wait as the truck progresses to the importer's warehouse. These things are killing. How can we have a country like this with crooks in different guises? Customers on foot are scared to get to the market because area boys are waiting to collect ground rent on the way out of the market. If we truly want a better country, we must rise against every form of injustice and overcome tribalism. Whatever happens in Alaba market, affects those others outside the market. Prices are determined there. Most of your electronics are sourced there. Your corner shop in your area where you purchase your generator, get their supplies from there. Now that the market is closed, prices would definitely rise, as dealers do not have where to restock from. Hopefully government can get it sorted out quickly and the unions open the market. |
DesChyko:It started years ago, with the omoniles, criminally supported by the security agencies. It was not as bad it has presently become. The lot for this payment at the Volkswagen bus stop only falls on the importer. Clearing agents and truck transporters carry the containers enroute to the market only to be blocked by these fellows, not in the name of NURTW or Parks management committee led by Musiliu Akinsanya, but in the names of the Oba, Navy, Army, Police, local government and themselves. If not for the worsening economy, there used to be at least 500 containers on the average arriving Alaba international market daily. That has been drastically reduced, thanks to Buhari. With a daily average now of 100 - 200 containers, these touts make importers pay between 70k and 100k for 20ft and 40ft containers at that Volks point. You can all make your estimation and decide how much it translates to. For those small buyers, getting out of the market through Iyana Iba involves extortion too by the touts. No one is spared. Your tribe does not exonerate you Think about the multiplier effect. Traders must make their profits. So the cost of electronics in your homes skyrocket. |
voltron14:Now you have confirmed my initial comment. Sorry. You hear? |
Moh247:With no understanding of events and no common sense to understand the issues at stake, why not simply SHUT UP? You choose social media to propagate tribal remarks and make inflammatory comments, yet you lack the strength to engage in physical battles after instigating people to violence. Your likes finally lay false claims of destruction, authored by you. Your head like that of a beatle there. |
lekan208:Olodo. Follow follow. Maybe you think we are talking about Baba Ijebu or bet9ja here. English is too difficult for you please. You need to go back to primary school and learn from the beginning. How can you understand what people talk about in English, when your English is so poor? Alternatively, you can ask your fellow Baba Ijebu members to interprete in your language. |
