All over the world I have not seen a government that makes more poor people daily than this one. Even their shameless supporters act as if they are bewitched even as they get impoverished daily. |
You can hold the contractors responsible on one part but do not forget that bus drivers get reckless and irresponsible too. Who knows, the driver could have seen the tanker emerging and wanted to make a quick dash, so the tanker would either not obstruct his movement or delay him. Many years ago in this country it was a standard requirement for drivers to read, understand and have good knowledge of road signs. Unfortunately that no longer obtains. We have a very huge percentage of drivers who are very illiterate and irresponsible. Even the educated ones do not know road signs. I can bet that same governor may not know road signs. Ogun state has roads that are very disgraceful and yet the governor has failed to attend to them. Those who go to equity must have clean hands. He needs to attend to the terrible road in his state before judging the contractors fixing other roads. That said, some transport drivers think it is proper to “shine their eyes” with either igbo or paraga or both before embarking on long journeys. Some get to areas where even common sense should get them to be patient, yet they try to circumvent it quickly. Some think driving at a particular speed makes their movements too slow. Some are encouraged by their passengers to drive at great speeds. Some think other slow moving road users “no sabi drive”. Everything is just wrong with Nigeria. When will we ever get it right? |
How come Akeredolu is now regarded as insensitive, etc? All the while everyone was supporting him as he took on the FG on national issues. |
Na who dey do dem dey do for. Who give na im dem dey give. Na as the law be. It shows Davido is a mighty giver. |
Throwback:Now because it is Rotimi Akeredolu and you all begin to find reasons to defend him. “I would have called it nepotism”. If it is not nepotism, what other name would you have called it? Buhari appointed his Fulani tribesmen and not his children yet you all called it nepotism. We all saw it and called the act by its name. Brother call a spade a spade. It is called nepotism. Now we can say that he put a trusted person in that position. If the appointment adds value to his state, then why should we object? If it takes nepotism to move our nation forward, then let’s set aside sentiments and move on. Please do not take my remark as a support for the ruling party and leadership. |
cheruv:And you will provide them with accommodation abi? |
JOemmy:Why your grandma no kuku contest election if e easy like that? She no like to go Abuja collect allocations and enjoy money too? |
And so? Can you count how many such roads we find in the entire country? OP how are we sure that you do not reside in Amukoko or Ajegunle? Abeg make we hear word. |
alanto:Without a doubt in my mind, your head must resemble the head of a little agama lizard. “They are not worthy any conversation”. That’s simple to understand because you are very infantile and unable to engage knowledgeable people in good conversations. Looking at your poor English, it is very easy to draw a conclusion about your person. |
FalseProphet1:Why did you not see PDP taking over if Soludo loses? You be prophet at all so? |
No be today. We don hear “technically”, “demobilized”, “de-radicalized”, “defeated”, “totally surrendered”, etc, yet everyday we dey hear “bandits overtake 13 communities in Zamfara”, “bandits kill 70 in Sokoto”, “boko haram takes over two communities”, “boko haram kills twelve soldiers”. All these stories everyday without resting. Abbeggii. |
Na today? E don tay that story. |
lichocho:“Infact na Jonathan put us for this mess”. Yet you heard how Abacha stole $5b at least, in collaboration with the present APC governor of Kebbi state. Jonathan taught your present leaders how to steal public funds. Dem say like play like play labalaba dey enter bush. Na like play una leader dey lead una into more poverty and destruction with this deceit. |
Na so. “Ngige said, “We need to solve the problem of unemployment from the roots. Inasmuch as we know these are things we have been doing, we have not done enough and we need to do more. “The money we use in fighting insurgency, and buying bullets, and aeroplanes, if we spend half, we can stem poverty, unemployment and violence from the roots.” The minister added, “In Nigeria with our population, we have 90 per cent of the young population. For me, that is the greatest danger; it has already started showing symptoms and signs. “There is violence, insecurity, banditry ravaging all of Africa; Nigeria now is getting its turn of the madness. For me as minister, while I thank the German government, ILO, and European Union, we need to do more.” They know these things according to him, yet their policies are anti people. Yet corruption gets worse everyday. Jagbajantis intete! |
Congratulations to GEJ. Nigeria was much better and safer with him, irrespective of the errors. |
Wetin concern us there? Will his return make rice get cheaper, or the cost of bread cheaper? Abeggi. Thank God for journey mercies. But we cannot continue with this level of difficulties in the land. |
Very peaceful state. Very wonderful state. No land grabbers. The former commissioner showed himself a land grabber in official uniform. Thankfully the governor restored lands corruptly taken over and peace continues to reign in Enugu. |
“1. Why is nobody reporting that the government allowed the protest to last for over 2 weeks in lagos, Abuja and several other cities meaning that the govt. recognizes the right to protest. 2. Why is nobody talking about how the protest at the toll gate gave birth to many other protest sites in several parts of lagos was making normal life unbearable for other citizens due to road blocks and all.” One of the hallmarks if this present administration that led to the fall of GEJ in 2015 was protests, some led by the present president himself. Today for example, they agree with the total removal of fuel subsidy, which one of their campaign points to deceive gullible Nigerians and remove GEJ. Other hallmarks were lies and deceit. If this government allowed the protest for two weeks, it was simply because it was assumed that the international community was watching. Without doubt, the present government has been very intolerant over protests and complaints. Did GEJ stop their protests in those days? If this government recognizes the right to protest, why ban Twitter? What about the plan to regulate social media, etc. We must not see the truth and conceal it if our country must move forward. All your points were well talked about several times. Some supported the violent parts of the protests while some denounced it completely. I am one of those who disagreed absolutely with the protest getting violent. But what will you say in a country where the people are faced with unprecedented hardship? As we speak, prices of goods and services are on a free fall, yet we are deceptively told that things are getting better. Borders were locked in the name of curbing smuggling and the price of rice more than doubled. It has remained so since then. Protests are meant to make life while it lasts. The fact remains that protests are products of bad leaderships and hardships in the society. Government has the responsibility to manage protesters very well, give listening ears and make life bearable for the people. In this case government mismanaged the events at the Lekki toll gate. Short and simple. The same government turned around to deny sending soldiers to kill its citizens. The same government wants the citizens to vote in their favour at elections. As we speak, what has changed following the protests? Nothing! The good thing here is that the panel was set up in an APC led state, so the report cannot be termed as “witch hunting”. The event largely started in an APC led state and the tragedy was in an APC state. The members of the panel were very thorough, inviting certain army officials, who deliberately refused to turn up. People may choose to disagree, but the fact remains that an act of illegality was committed by the FG led army. |
Ttalk:That’s why he’s called the name. |
After their lies, they accused Twitter of fueling the problem and spoiling the lives of many Twitter users financially. Nonsense bad luck people. |
The problem is not getting the PVCs, but filing out on Election Day to vote and ensure that the vote counts. |
But we were not told how he convinced IPOB, looking at the topic. |
yemex04:Agreed with you. But do not forget that we live in a country where qualifications are forged and positions are fought for to the death. We have a case right now in court where we were told that the former DG worked with a “forged” PhD for over 18 years. He did not have issues for all the years until he became the DG. There are several other contentious issues with public officers. Again we live in a country where bribery and giving out favour for positions are standard practices. Who knows what actually played out. I think we should just wait and see. |
omoolokunEsin:“If this affair has happened in another zone of Nigeria, our patriots from the Southeast...”. Please tell us which zone the “affair” happened. Where is FUTO located? “Like every other ugly development in the zone..”. Please tell us which other zone of this country is free from ugly developments in every sense of it, including your immediate environment. When such biased and unreasonable comments are made, one begins to wonder if truly those of you who claim to be educated can substantiate your claim. You did not read clearly, but rather chose to advertise your racist and tribalistic persona in this manner. Is ASUU controlled by the Igbos? The Professorship in contention was awarded by a federal university located in the Southeast, yet you myopically chose to cast aspersions on people who have nothing to do with the issue in contention. With this racist mindset right inside your own so called country, how can you join others in calling for one Nigeria? It is such a shame. |
PlayMaker14:You are very heartless and wicked. Why did you choose to add tears to the tears on people’s faces? Anyway Messi remains ahead! |
biosystech:Luckily they cannot talk about witch hunting as Lagos is an APC state. Some members of the panel possibly are APC card carrying members. Lying leaders. |
Nonsense. The same way the man was ignored and it cost them Zamfara in 2019. APC in Zamfara seems to dismiss Marafa and as long as they do that they will keep losing in that state through the courts. |
“I will go to court”. He said. “I am on a salvage mission”. Abeg, abeg abeg, Sen. Marafa please continue on that mission. I advise Senator Marafa to hold on until just before the elections of 2023 before taking APC to court when all the contestants have started their campaigns. That way he can do a Zamfara of 2019 at the national level. Hopefully they will not sack him from APC before the mission is completed. |
“I am going to court”. |
Penguin2:“...all of them put together...”. Your name follow? Bros na owu man talk you talk so abeg. |
adamsmith914:Bros please have a little pity on English. In all my life reading and writing English, I have never heard or seen the words “physical materially”. What were you inferring there please? “Peasants like you that have a very poor mentality”. Haba! Why na? “... it is market women in Okokomaiko....?”. Did you actually ask a question here with this sentence? Bros with due respect, do you mind telling me which of the several public schools in Lagos that you attended? Cheers. |
Malory:“They have been exposing this brutal and despotic regime”. They are the same people who supported this regime and ensured their enthronement. What goes around comes around. Today Sowore gets hounded daily by the same government that he used his newspaper to support. Do not forget also how they destroyed GEJ’s image using their platforms. Part of their strategy is fake news. The issue in contention is not the stories published. It is about his demand for bribe or that of PG. A lot of our journalists choose to get dirty information about people just to use it to fleece them. It is not news that journalists demand bribes to either promote or destroy reputations of individuals and organizations. This irresponsible and greedy attitude is not restricted to Nigerian journalists only. Now it is up to him now to clear himself. |
