It is within the rights of the state government to build proper structures and provide security for the citizens. Since you do not know the state, talk less of the terrain, simply read the comments of the people of the state, then use common sense to make proper and informed comments.

Where is the oppression? Herdsmen all over the world are known to reside in properly built house and not in forests and ranches where they attack, maim, kill and kidnap others for ransom. That’s exactly what happens at that ranch. Government took the best decision. Who stopped them from renting proper houses to live. And by the way Mr. Olodo, who told you that Igbo people do not reside there too? Who told you that it is only the northerners who reside in that area?

Nigeria cannot make progress the way it is structured because it wasn't designed to. We must take the first step, which is restructuring.

By the way, governors don't even have much. Nigeria isn't a rich country. What your FG budgets is less than what one American state budgets.

Allowing governors to control their resources means bringing governance closer to the people. And state houses of assembly must pass laws compelling LGA chairpersons to live in their LGAs.

Governors pay 10% tax to the centre, shares 60% of resources to the LGAs according to their contributions and keeps 30%. If you don't see changes in the next 10 years, know that Nigeria cannot work.

As for love and love for country, that can only happen when the resources of the people are used to take care of them. You don't owe love to a country that has given you nothing. And resources get to the grassroots when we have functional LGA administration.

We need to be honest with ourselves bro. The major challenge the country presently faces is corruption. Until we are honest to deal with the matter, there can be no progress on any front. Of what use are resources when a few are out there fighting and killing each other to possess everything to themselves? Of what use are resources that are there but are not beneficial to the people? Nigeria has the natural resources, human resources, temperature and landmass. Why suffer food insecurity when we have lands and people to farm? The only difference between our country and the USA is the nuclear power. Again, the leaders are not prepared to use what is available to develop the country. Even the citizens are culprits as they absolutely agree with wrong leaders to put them into misery.

Aside from embezzlement, why are the leaders so interested in political power? All they embezzle are taken abroad to further add to the development of developed countries. They return to tell us that the country is poor while they continue with their stealing.

Oil is not the only resource that can bring make us great. We have gold, gas, lithium, copper, zinc, bauxite, all of them that can be exploited to make us great. The politicians steal gold in the north and personalize it. Lithium makes others countries economically great.

It is not about who keeps what first. It must be about ending corruption, etc. The country was not this polarized until 1999, when politicians forcefully pushed the ethnic card. Restructuring is just another opportunity for some to take advantage of the disadvantaged.

Again how can the resources of the people be useful to them, as some do not even want their communities to be properly developed. Have you not heard that in some communities, you need to appease the youths before you can instal transformers for them? You can ask the telecoms companies how hard and dangerous it is for their staff to install or audit masts in their communities.

Without restructuring this country to give power to the federating units, 80% of Nigerians cannot feel the impact of the government.

The best way to make this happen is to allow governors control their resources, control their police and pay 10% tax to the federal government.

The federal government will scrap almost all the useless departments and agencies that cannot generate money for itself while keeping a few ministries to focus on policy making and implementation. In the end, the state commissioners do the real infrastructural projects.

Restructure when you have not eliminated tribalism, nepotism and religious biases is a complete waste of time.

Governors have so much powers. Controlling the state resources and state police would certainly make them super human. Allowing states control their resources would have been ideally feasible, but politicians will never allow that to happen.

What about a breakup? No way either.

Give the SW their Oduduwa republic and you will find the Ijebu man fighting the Ijesha man, Ibadan man fighting the Egba man, etc.
Give the northerners Arewa and you will find the Fulani fighting the Hausa, Kanuri man, etc.

How can akwaibom power plant be generating 190mw and we send it first to national grid which inturn distribute to taraba, kogi Kwara ...etc.
The entire northern states don't have power plants that generate up to 500mw of power outside kainji power which was built by Niger Delta funds.
