Where should people dump their refuse? Under their beds? Or carry refuse on their heads everywhere they go? Is this organisation (Lawma) truly alive to its responsibilities? You charge people to collect refuse, yet you do not pick up. People pile bags on bags of refuse yet you fail to pick up. You ban kole kole, yet you fail to perform. What about your officials and trucks that pick up? They dump some of the refuse on the way.
Go to areas like Okokomaiko, Ajegunle, Apapa, Ajah, Lekki and see. They never pick up. The ogas come back from foreign trips to tell us how they met London, Tokyo, Newyork, etc very clean, yet the fail to clean their own state. Go to Igando dumpsite and see for yourself.

Sports › Re: Even Man City B Team Can Win The Premier League - Mourinho by Cantonese: 10:46am On Aug 12, 2019 |
ogbiwa: Jose Mourinho says Man City B team have more chance of winning the Premier League title than Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho believes that Manchester City’s second team would stand a better chance of winning the Premier League than Manchester United.
Mourinho, who left his role as United manager last season, also ruled out any hope of his former club Chelsea toppling City as champions.
Asked who had the resources to challenge for the title this season, Mourinho told Sky Sports: “Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City B team.
When I looked at the bench [against West Ham], the players not involved, I think the [City] B team could fight for the title.”
Mourinho, who was working as a pundit for United’s 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea at Old Trafford , added: “We would love United, Chelsea and Arsenal to also be at that level, it would be something incredible.
“But we are speaking about a team that won everything in England, we are speaking about the European champion and the European runner-up.
Then we are talking about United sixth, and playing Europa League and Arsenal fifth and Europa League too.”
Mourinho said that a realistic ambition for United this campaign would be to emulate his achievement with them of winning Europe’s second-tier club competition. “As a start you need to win the Europa League,” he said. “When you go to a competition like that, you have to win. If they finish in the top four [in the league], it is a good season.”
He was optimistic about his former player Frank Lampard’s hopes of succeeding as Chelsea manager, despite defeat in his first competitive game in charge.
“What Frank was as a player – does this give him a capital of trust, especially in a relationship with the fans?” Mourinho said. “Yes, it does. By having Frank in place now, they didn’t buy players, but they bought time. I think he will get the time that other managers may not have.”
On the other title contenders, Mourinho said: “I don’t see also Arsenal to [last] a title race, but I think Tottenham has to join it.”
Fellow Sky pundit Gary Neville agreed regarding his former club United, blaming frequent changes of philosophy for their problems. “I don’t see United winning the title,” he said. “As a United fan all, I want them to do is to create a strategy and stick to it.
“They sacked David Moyes, then LVG [Louis van Gaal] came in, a lot of technical possession players to fit his model. Then they sacked him.
“Jose came in, signed [Eric] Bailly, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic – very physical – gave him a new contract, then cut that path short. Then [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer has come in with British players. Four different strategies. Don’t keep changing all the time. ”

Celebrities › Re: Lagos Nude Dance: Tekno Will Be Used As A Scapegoat To Teach Others - FG by Cantonese: 10:38am On Aug 12, 2019 |
YoungHunter: Recall hat few days back, some nude girls were seen dancing in a transparent truck in Lagos at night, well the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) says it will sanction a Nigerian Musician, Augustine Kelechi, popularly known as “Tekno”, and use him as a scapegoat to teach others serious lesson.
Its Director-General, Mr Olusegun Runsewe, made this assertion while reacting to the controversial music video in which Techno paraded nude dancers.
“No single person is bigger than Nigeria.
“We are going to use him as a scapegoat to send a strong signal that this government does not tolerate nonsense and immorality, but discipline, which is our moral principle,” Runsewe said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a four-minute video showing half-naked women dancing in a transparent outdoor display truck in Lagos has been causing an uproar on social media since Aug. 2.
The truck showed the women dancing on a stripper pole, wearing only brassiers and underpants.
It was seen around the Toll Gate Plaza on Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.
Tekno, in the video was seen throwing money perceived to be dollars at the young nude women.
Runsewe, in a statement by his media aide, Mr Frank Meke, described the offensive video as disgusting with scenes of four nude women dancing in a moving van on Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The director-general expressed disappointment that in spite of the ongoing investigations into the anomalies, Tekno still went ahead to release the offensive video to the public.
“NCAC is committed to exposing proponents of such kinds of offensive sights and videos in Nigeria,” Runsewe said.
The director-general said that security agencies would be directed to place Tekno on watch list, adding, “his conduct is a threat to national security”.
Runsewe said: “Since the offensive Tekno scam video came to limelight, I have received hundreds of telephone calls and SMS from Nigerians at home and others in United Kingdom, U.S, Canada and other parts of the world.
“They are querying why such anomaly could be tolerated in Nigeria.
“Now that he has released the shameful video, when investigation is still ongoing, we are going to inform security agencies to place him on their watch list.
“Because, his action is a threat to national security and bad influence on Nigerian youths.
“We warn that nudity is not part of our culture and should not be tolerated.
“The Federal Government will henceforth fish out such clubs for nude dancers across the country for their promoters to face prosecution.”
The NCAC chief, however, commended the police for arresting Tekno for the shameful misconduct, regretting that the same person, who was granted bail on health ground, had gone ahead to release the nude controversial video.
“We are now warning him to desist from this shameful conduct which is not part of our culture,” he said.
Runsewe said that Section 134 (a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State (2015) stipulates that an indecent act in a public place made parties engaging in the act liable to imprisonment for two years.
“Section136, however, states that any person, who committed any act of gross indecency with another person in public, committed an offence and is liable upon conviction to three years imprisonment,” he said.
The official music video for his song, “Agege”, which was released on Thursday, showed Tekno in the moving van performing to the camera with the half-clad women dancing seductively.
The Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency had since suspended the advertising agency, which owned the display truck used in shooting the video, until the completion of its investigations. (NAN)

mmb: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday handed over a 13-bedroom, one-storey building and a basement, forfeited by the late Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, to the management of North East Development Commission in Abuja.
The property was forfeited on the order of the court, following prosecution of the late Badeh for money laundering and corruption by the EFCC.
The mansion located at No. 6, Ogun River Street, Maitama, Abuja, was handed over to NEDC management by the EFCC Director of Operations, Muhammed Umar, who represented the acting Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu.
The EFCC had last month donated a building in Wuse, Abuja, seized from the late former CDS to the Voice of Nigeria as its corporate headquarters.
Magu in his remarks, congratulated NEDC staff and management over the structure, urging them to maximize the usage for the benefit of the NEDC and the country.
“I wish to congratulate the management and staff of the NEDC on taking ownership of this beautiful edifice. I equally want to implore the Commission to put the property into maximum use for the benefit of the staff of the Commission and the country at large,” Magu stated.
The acting EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade, said in a statement that Magu explained that the Commission was unwaveringly committed to its mandate of riding the country of corruption through diligent investigation and prosecution.
He stated that the agency would not rest on its oars in tracing and recovering all looted funds and property procured with proceeds of crime.
Responding, the NEDC Chairman, Maj. Gen. Paul Tarfa, (retd.), appreciated the gesture and promised to cooperate with the EFCC and the Federal Government in the fight against corruption.
“We are grateful to the Federal Government and EFCC for allowing us to use this place permanently as office here in Abuja. We appreciate this gesture, because we understand that ministries and other departments and agencies have been trying to get this place but because of the importance government attaches to NEDC, we are glad that we have been considered for this,” he said.

tundemania: The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, has denied it is searching for missing students after the collapse of a bridge in the school reportedly claimed the lives of four students.
A metallic bridge linking the hostels and lecture halls collapsed at about 11.45pm on Monday following a downpour which caused flooding in the school. Seven students were reportedly injured, with some missing.
But ATBU Vice-Chancellor, Muhammad Abdullazeez, who conventional Bauchi official head Bala Mohammed, who rewarded him a concern outing on Wednesday, held they shortly establish out that three students died.
He said, “The management felt that it was necessary to construct a metal bridge for between 10 and 15 people at a time. It was not meant for static loads but for dynamic loads, that means, you don’t stand on it, you just pass.
The reports we received from some of the students were that when the rain had stopped and the students were about crossing, they found the scene excellent for them to take selfies.
So they started from two and before you could realise it, there were more than 30 students on the bridge standing, and that bridge was not meant for people to stand.
Some of the students could not pass and had to also stand, and the bridge suddenly collapsed and that was how we lost three students. As of today we don’t have any student missing.
Based on our records, no student is missing for now. Three students –two from Kogi State and one from Benue State – were confirmed dead. Two females and a male and they were all from the department of business education and management studies.
Abdullazeez said they had set up a committee to investigate the incident.
He thanked the state government and the security agencies for their intervention.
The governor commiserated with the families of the deceased, the school authorities and students over the incident.
Mohammed said the visit was to assess the areas that required urgent attention, pledging that the state government would fix the collapsed bridge.

Crime › Re: Why We Killed Three Policemen On Covert Duty "Nigerians Army Revealed" (photos) by Cantonese: 6:59am On Aug 08, 2019 |
Maniagist1: The Nigerian Army on Wednesday offered explanation for the killing of three policemen on covert duties in Taraba State by its personnel.
The explanation was offered in a statement by the spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Colonel Sagir Musa.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police Frank Mba, had earlier in the day said three operatives in the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team, headed by DCP Abba Kyari, were killed by the soldiers in Taraba State despite identifying themselves as being on covert operation to arrest one Alhaji Hamisu, a suspected kidnapper. Hamisu was said to have been involved in several crimes, collecting N100 million as ransom during one of such operations.
However, Mba said as Hamisu was being driven to the Police Command Headquarters in Jalingo, they were engaged in fierce shooting by soldiers, resulting in the death of three policemen, a civilian and the escape of the suspect.
But Musa countered Mba, saying the IRT operatives refused to stop at three military checkpoints and then engaged the soldiers in a shootout.
He said some villagers had raised the alarm that the operatives were in an unmarked bus and refused to stop at the checkpoints, which resulted in the soldiers giving them a hot chase.
On the unfortunate incident that occurred on the 6th of August 2019 in which troops of 93 Battalion Nigerian Army Takum pursued and exchanged fire with some suspected Kidnappers who indeed turned out to be an Intelligence Response Team from the Police Force Headquarters Abuja on a covert assignment from Abuja resulting in the death and injury of some members of the Team.
On the 6th of August 2019, the said Nigerian Army troops, while responding to a distress call to rescue a kidnapped victim exchanged fire with the suspected kidnappers along Ibi-Wukari Road in Taraba State.
The suspected kidnappers numbering about ten (10) and driving in a white bus with Reg No LAGOS MUS 564 EU refused to stop when they were halted by troops at three consecutive check points.
The flagrant refusal of the suspected kidnappers to stop at the three checkpoints prompted a hot pursuit of the fleeing suspects by the troops.
It was in this process that the suspected kidnappers who were obviously armed opened fire at the troops sporadically thus prompting them to return fire.
In the resultant fire fight, four (4) suspects were shot and died on the spot while four (4) others sustained various degrees of gunshot wounds and 2 others reportedly missing.
It was only after this avoidable outcome that one of the wounded suspects disclosed the fact that they were indeed Policemen dispatched from Nigerian Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja for a covert assignment.
Source; https://maniagist.com/2019/08/08/why-we-killed-three-policemen-on-covert-duty-nigerians-army-revealed-photos/ All we hear in this country is kill, kill and kill. Now the army has given the police a taste of the kind of stories the police give when they kill innocent and unarmed civilians and name them as “suspected armed robbers”. Surely what is good for the goose is good for the gander as they say. |
