Jman06: It is not just tying the injury! You tie slightly above the injury site and keep the person still. That way, blood circulation from the injury site to the rest of the body is inhibited.
The woman probably walked by herself to the Clinic and in the process, the venom spread to her heart.
This is why every household should have some emergency anti venoms like activated charcoal and the rest. In situations like this, what you do is; after tying the tourniquet, you make an incision on the wound and apply the activated charcoal substantially on the wound. Thereafter, you rush the person to the hospital insuring limited body movement. How many people know what activated charcoal/carbon does? If people do not know it then they cannot have it. |

Emycord: yes i did and to say the fact i've been making researchers on this line since i visited a farm i love the idea. but pls where am stucked is in the pig waste management. how do i manage it ? i've been thinking to integrate it with fish farm since the is river in my location, but i do not know how or if i could just channel into the river. to avoid the odour and dirt. also please explain more on alternative feed. like things one can feed them with to reduce cost of feeding. do they also eat bloodmeal? and chicken waste? thanks NB: do pigs attack humans? Waste should have pits dug up for dumping. Sanitizing chemicals are to be applied to eliminate ordor. First thing every morning farm must be properly cleaned and washed. Pigs eat blood meal just like other livestock. But you must ensure that bloodmeal is procured from a very good feed mill. PKC is equally very good for your pigs. What we call "cadbury waste" is very good for your pigs. Human food remains you must be very careful. Some apply back of some fruits but take care with back of pine apple. It causes mouth bleeding in pigs. Back of watermelon is very good. Ensure that the Vet sees your pigs on their check up dates and keep records of injections and treatments. Yes pigs attack humans but not like dogs. They generally mind their businesses but you must take care not to try to hand feed. Do not handle them carelessly from the behind. One kick with the back leg can send you to Igbobi hospital. Pigs are generally peaceful animals. Rearing fish very close to the river is highly risky. If there is overflooding in the river it can cause your fish to escape and that will be a loss. Earthen ponds for me are preferrable to concrete ponds but the pond is preferrable is swampy areas where the risk of overflooding is very low. Hopefully your questions have been answered. |

mediaNGR: Founder of the Miracle Working God Ministry in Sapele, Delta State, Prophet Patrick Eyaefe, has recounted how his wife died from snake bite hours after their wedding on March 29th.
Prophet Eyaefe in an interview with newsmen, said himself and his deceased wife had lived together for eight years and had five children and that he decided to formalise their union this year.
According to him, He said "on March 30th, she went out of their home to go and get sachet water when a snake bit her. He accused the hospital he rushed her to after the bite of negligence which according to him, led to the death of his wife."

You can visit local markets around you and inform pork buyers. Buyers need regular supply so they are never contented with one source of supply. Buyers also inform each other. Farm owners also want to buy piglets, etc from you. You would have to advertise your farm and it is very very easy. |

naijafarmers: Pig farming can fetch you a fortune within a very short while! Thinking of what agribusiness you could venture into? Need tips and heads up on the best practices? Look no further, this article is for you. We have outlined several advantages and essential pro tips for you to get started without hiccups.
Let’s head into Pig farming and all you need to know to start a successful pig farm in Nigeria.
Pigs are known to reproduce quickly and in great numbers. One pig can reproduce roughly fifteen piglets at a time, thus making them the world’s top reproductive livestock. Pig meat, called pork is the most widely consumed meat in the world and the demand for it continues to grow daily. These factors and more has made pig farming, also called piggery, one of the most lucrative livestock production businesses in Nigeria.
What is pig farming?
Pig farming, a branch of animal husbandry, is the process of breeding and raising domestic pigs for personal or commercial purposes in a piggery. It entails the rearing of pigs for production of food or leather.
1) Food production
pork and other pig-related products such as bacon, gammon etc. This excessive consumption and demand for pig products makes it more than a lucrative farm business to venture into.
2) Leather production
Pig skin, though sensitive, can be used in the manufacturing of great leather products such as American footballs, boots, furniture, shoes, belts, gloves, saddle seats, and many more items. With its business opportunities spanning into the leather industry, your ability to diversify your pig farming income from just food production to leather production can lead to an increased return on your investment.
Benefits of pig farming.
1). The pig reproduction rate is very high.
2). Pigs have high market value.
3). Excessive global demand than supply.
4). Pigs have low mortality rate.
5). Cheaper to raise than many other farm anihumans
6). They have a strong immune system.
7). They sell at great prices.
. Pigs grow very fast.
How to start up a pig farm.
1. Secure a location.
Land is the biggest investment in this business. The size of your farmland depends on the amount of pigs you start with and how big you want your business to become. Bear in mind that pigs reproduce in large numbers. It is also important to pick a non-residential area. Since the pig business could ooze off unpleasant odours in the neighbourhood, choosing a farmland that is slightly rural but close to the city is important.
The proximity of the farmland to the city will ensure it is easy to transport the pigs to the market. For people who would prefer to visit your farmland for a purchase, having a farm close to the city makes it a lot easier for them.
Picking the right site is a decision that is crucial to the success of your pig farm.
2. Build standard pens.
The pig pen must be built to protect them from the rain, predators, and to keep them warm or cool during odd temperatures. Due to the high sensitivity of pigs to oddly warm environments, it is important that the temperature of their pens are always regulated. Their houses can be cooled by using a wallow or a dripping water system.
The pig pens should also be built to be spacious enough to enable a free roam among the pigs. This would not just help prevent pig violence, but would also reduce the chances of a disease breakout affecting all the pigs.
The drainage in the pens should also be well constructed, so as to allow a free flow of water. Asides the drainage, small pig pools should be constructed because pigs like to play a lot in water and also use it as a way to cool off. This water should be changed daily at the same time the pens are cleaned, so that pests and diseases do not become a misfortune that befalls your pig farm.
3. Buy healthy piglets to raise.
This is an important aspect of your pig farm. You could purchase adult pigs with the aim of getting them to reproduce or purchase piglets and rear them to maturity. When sourcing for pigs, approach a reliable pig farm and select healthy animals. Remember to ask for their vaccination history. It is also advisable to employ the services of a veterinary doctor.
4. Feed the pigs.
This singular factor determines the growth rate of your pigs. Pigs eat anything but are big eaters, they always eat as long as there is food. When there is no food, they turn on their piglets or roam about and destroy things. So always make sure there is food. Just like human beings, Pigs eat a wide variety of foods, anything humans can eat, they can also eat. Like human beings as well, they need balanced diet such as fibre, energy, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals to thrive. Feed will take the major chunk of your spending in the farm.
5. Carry out periodic sanitation.
The pig pens should undergo a periodic sanitation. Various methodologies have to be employed to ensure that the pig pens are well cleaned and taken care of to prevent an out-break of diseases. You can make the waste collection process easier by using slotted pen floors. This together with ensuring the pen floors are always dry is important for a disease-free environment to thrive.
Source: https://naijafarmers.com/2018/11/04/start-pig-farming-nigeria/ Sounds very simple but in practice it is not so simple. Problem is our people want to hear how large or fat profits are from little investments. Pig farming is quite lucrative but also quite tasking and requires good capital. As your pigs increase in size, you need more money to get them going, etc. What about the risks? Not discussed by OP. |

manitobor: On the first of April 2019, I boarded an intra-city vehicle and dropped at my destination unaware that a guy sitting beside me in the bus had stolen my phone from my pocket. The bus I boarded had picked the guy on the way and he sat next to me. I had no inkling at all that he had the intention of picking my pocket though something told me that this guy's way 'no pure' as he was casting uncanny and surreptitious glances towards my direction, with a weird look on his face. Little did I know he was busy with my pocket.
It was several minutes after I had alighted at my destination that I realised that my smartphone was missing from my pocket. I used a friend's phone to dial my number and found out that the criminal had already switched it off. I resigned to fate knowing fully well that my chances of getting back the phone was slim. I however kept dialling my number till evening, it was still switched off. 6 AM in the morning of 2nd April I dialled my number again and it was ringing but wasn't picked up at the other end. After a few more attempts, the rogue switched off the phone again.
I decided to contact MTN that day to block the line, which they did. However, to my chagrin, when I went to the ATM that same morning to make a withdrawal, I found out the my account balance had changed and that the criminals have succeeded in withdrawing some thousands of Naira from my account. I rushed inside the bank immediately and blocked the account.
What I am still dazed about is how it's possible for criminals to withdraw money from someone's bank account just by getting hold of the sim card. Mind you, my phone can only be accessed via a PIN, so the possibility of them making a transfer using my bank's mobile app is ruled out. So how did they do it?
Has anyone ever been victim of such? Please share so others can learn.
Mods, can you please move to front page so others can learn? Thanks. Nowadays you can block your ATM card the moment you notice that it is stolen. Next we can simply do not enable internet use with the banks. As long as you cannot do online transactions with your account, no one can steal from you. Please everyone must be careful with their phones especially the ones used for banking. We have seen the crooks arrested by police confessing that all they need is the Sim card. They now have softwares that they can use to generate ATM card details, clone the cards and rob innocent people. God will help us all in thia country. |

Mophasa: Just as so many Nigerians were frustrated by MMM ponzi scheme two tears ago, Ghanians are now facing a worse challenge as a gold investment firm popularly known as MenzGold has been liquidated and its assets worth millions of dollars seized by the Ghanian anti-graft agency,Economic and organized crime office, EOCO.
The firm promised its customers,7-15% returns on investments monthly.
Menzgold customers on whom has been on edge since January when the government agency intervened in the company's affairs for alleged fraudulent activities has claimed that 15 of its members have died.
Protesting customers
According to them, the deaths are as a result of their inability to retrieve their monies from the troubled firm.
Frederick Forson, a member of the coalition of aggrieved customers of Menzgold told Citi News, the government must furnish them with details of work being done to retrieve their monies for them.
“We want the government to tell us about the work they are doing in respect of our locked up funds.
According to EOCO, they are more or less finished with the work that they are doing. It is left with the Attorney General who has the power to go to the court for a litigation order.”
“We want the government to give us the official briefing as to what they are doing. As we said in our statement, 15 of our members are already gone. Last week, we buried one of them in Tema so we want the government to come out with the payment plan, he added. Better than MMM. With a physical structure and 7 - 15% returns on investment and the business is gold. Great possibility of financial irregularities but the people were not complaining until the Ghanian government intervened. That was the immediate cause of the problem. A careful look will find policemen investing there too? |

KarlWhyte: Justice Oathman Musa of an Abuja High Court sitting in Bwari Area Council of Abuja on Tuesday Nullified the nomination of Senator Ademola Adeleke as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the September 2018 Governorship Election in Osun State.
Adeleke, who represents Osun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly was the PDP’s candidate in the 2018 governorship election in Osun state.
Two Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wahab Raheem and Adam Habeeb, had in 2018 barely few days to the governorship election in Osun State had dragged Adeleke to court, accusing him of not possessing the requisite educational qualification (secondary school certificate) to contest for the office of governor.
They prayed the court for an order to disqualify Adeleke from participating in the Sept 22 governorship election in the state on the grounds that he does not possess the requisite educational qualification.
Delivering judgment in the suit Tuesday, Justice Musa annulled Adeleke’s nomination on the grounds that Adeleke offended section 177 of the 1999 constitution as amended. The section stipulated that candidates for the position of governor must be educated up to secondary school level.
According to Justice Musa, while the court’s findings showed that Adeleke entered secondary school in 1976, there was no record to show that he actually graduated as his name was no longer seen in the school’s register from 1980.
Justice Musa further stated that the result Adeleke attached to his form CF001 which he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was fake, as it was found to be different from the one presented to the court by the principal of Ede Muslim High School, Ede, Osun State.
Meanwhile, Adeleke’s lawyer Nathaniel Oke SAN has faulted the judgment of Justice Musa on the grounds that the judge erred in law by going out of hiy way to source for evidence to arrive at his “unjust conclusion”.
He submitted that the court erred particularly when it ignored WAEC evidence that Adeleke was educated up to Secondary School level as required by law.
