But we must ask the learned professor what his personal landmarks in his home town, Igbuzor, in Delta state is. What are his personal achievements in Delta state? What values has he put together in Delta state. He is not known in his town.

An adage says "a man must be good looking in his house first before going outside". If the learned professor started his contribution long ago in Delta state perhaps the state would have been better than it is now.

The truth is that Delta state is progressively moving. Our development in this country was hampered by military rulership of 35 years where resources were wasted and not either PDP or APC. With the way leadership is presently asked to account, the nation will move to greater heights.

Dr. Utomi has always been in the wrong political party. He missed his way joining APC in Delta state. He should have stooped to conquer by joining PDP. I think he should be eyeing taking over the senatorial seat from Peter Nwaoboshi.
His dear friend Reuben Abati did the same joining PDP/Jonathan and later Buruji Kashamu for factional Ogun PDP governorship.

Gone are the days people were blindly led by certain ministers of God through wrong interpretations. I just want to ask how long ago the minister got married. Judging by the ages of his children one can safely say he has been married for over 35 years. If it is so I am of the opinion that he took the "for better for worse" oath. His wife has remained with him through all.

If that is accepted I believe that his marriage has had its fair share of all forms of challenges.

Jesus clearly told us about challenges and truly as he said the life is full of challenges, especially in the Nigeria of today.

Prospective couples should not be put of or misled by certain statements credited to influencial ministers. Marriages are not designed "for riches and for good health" only. Even the very wealthy suffer incurable diseases. In the event of health challenges should the man or the woman walk away?

Noo most of them were PDP states. What is worth doing should be worth doing well. The problem with political leaders here is that they see power as a means to unaccountable wealth. All parties that wish to remain in power must strive to bring value to the lives of the citizens. I think PDP has genuinely seen its errors and will work hard to bring value to the lives of the people.

Mohammed Abubakar, governor of Bauchi state, has suffered three defeats in the space of two weeks — with another one looming.

The governor, who is seeking reelection under the All Progressives Congress (APC), was first defeated during the March 9 governorship poll. He garnered 465,453 votes to come second to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) Bala Mohammed who got 469,512 votes.

He then got a temporary reload when a federal high court in Abuja granted his request, suspending the collation of the remaining results of the election until the determination of a suit he filed. But for how long?

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continued with the supplementary election in the state and  Abubakar was again defeated. The PDP candidate polled 6,376 votes to leave the governor following closely with 5,117 votes.

Back to the court case, at its sitting on Monday, the federal high court struck out the governor’s application seeking to stop the collation of the remaining result — in Tafawa Balewa LGA.

Although the result of the remaining LGA has not been announced, there is a slim chance Abubakar is going to survive the process.

Tafawa Balewa has a total of 22,759 registered voters, according to figures released by INEC and the sum of the votes in the two elections show he is losing with a margin of 5,318. Will the governor escape by the skin of his teeth or is disaster looming for him?

But this one says "primaries that produced the candidates to the election". I think just like the other cases APC repeated the same error. If it continues to the supreme court and APC loses, I think PDP candidates or candidates from other parties who came second would be returned by INEC.

A man identified as Ogho-Oghene Stephen Akpata, who killed wife a month after wedding has been sentenced to death by a Federal High court in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State.

42 year old Ogho-Oghene Stephen Akpata had stabbed his wife Oyinye Faustina Eze, with a kicthen knife at their home in the Kpansia area of Yenagoa in August 2017.

Faustina and Stephen, a returnee from Australia, met in February 2017 when he came for his Sim card registration at her office. Faustina who was previously working at the Bonny Island branch of Globacom, was transferred to Yenogoa and so she had to relocate.

When they met, he asked her out and she accepted his proposal. They got married in July after many times of him dodging to go see her parents and by August he had murdered her. She was about 4 months pregnant with their son.

Upon his arrest after the murder, Stephen alleged his wife was having an extramarital affair.He has been in trial since and just yesterday, the court sentenced him to death by hanging.

I think it is very distasteful that people come up here and make very cheeky comments over painful matters.

If you have followed this story since 2017 you would have found that the period between when the evil man met and married the deceased lady was very short. The lady had a very good job and as a single lady she aspired to get married and settle down. It was not wrong for her to have married a man that age especially if she found him to be her choice.

The man was very evil. He systematically avoided the girl's family. The girl too did not see the red flag the man was flying. She went headlong into the marriage, but truly the man possibly convinced her to avoid her family especially her policeman brother. She was foolishly blinded by her love for the man. As soon as he killed the lady he tried to escape but her policeman brother made the move that led to his arrest.

The lesson here is for all singles to be careful whether male or female. There are lots of evil people out there pretetending to be nice and are waiting to cause many families to cry. This is a very painful issue.

The man's claim of infidelidy was a very big fat lie.
The story centered around the man making financial demands all the time from the lady he met not more than 7 months earlier. He hurriedly married her because he saw a cash cow. The lady was pregnant with their first child at the time of her death. He impregnated her and not an external man. He was extremely quick tempered and very greedy.

Now he has lost his freedom. If the governor signs the warrant he's gone too.

Patience, kindness and selflessness are very important in every marriage.

There is apparent security breach and tension in Kano as thugs were allowed to take over polling units across the state. Credible security source told DAILY NIGERIAN that the existing operational arrangement set by the commissioner of police, Mohammed Wakili, was dislodged on Friday night by the newly posted Deputy Inspector-General of Police Anthony Michael.

The Inspector-General Mohammed Adamu on Thursday deployed five deputy inspectors-general of police to oversee election security in parts of the country where rerun had been scheduled for Saturday.

Mr Adamu also directed zonal assistant inspectors-general and their respective commissioners of police in states where supplementary elections would hold to ensure that adequate security mechanisms are in place towards ensuring a safe and secure environment for the conduct of the elections.

Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has disclosed that that the hunt has begun to fish out the harbinger of fake news that he was involved in an accident that claimed his driver’s life and left him in coma.

El-Rufai who said he was in the presidential villa to inform President Muhammadu Buhari that he was never involved in an accident nor was he in coma, while fielding questions from State House Correspondents, said: “I came to see Mr. President because immediately after my re-election I took a break. I came back to report to him that I was not involved in an accident. I’m alive, I am not in coma and also to discuss other issues related to my state.”

Asked what he has to say to those behind the rumour, he said, “my advice to everyone in Nigeria is to avoid forwarding stories that have not been verified. Social media provides platform for disseminating information but it is also a platform for dissemination of lies and hatred. We should be very careful that we don’t use this platform to advance the cause of the enemies of this country.”

Reacting to claims by the presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar that he won Kaduna State, El-Rufai said, “Well, I heard about that. Initially, I thought it was a joke but when I checked I saw clearly that he said he won Kaduna. It must be in his dreams. Let me say this without any fear of contradiction, since President Buhari started contesting for the presidency since 2003, he has never lost Kaduna. So, PDP has never won elections in Kaduna from 2003, even with a sitting governor in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015. It has never happened. I don’t know what will happen that Atiku will win Kaduna in these elections this time. He lost Kaduna; he lost very badly, even though about 100,000 votes he claimed to have got were added because elections were conducted without card reader in some parts of the state, that’s how he even got up to the 400,000.

“He has lost Kaduna, he will always lose Kaduna, he will lose Kaduna 10 more times because he has never won Kaduna in any presidential elections.”


When reminded that the results were from INEC server, the governor said, “well, I don’t know about INEC server, it must be Atiku’s server. I don’t know about INEC server, we don’t know how they had access to it, they will tell us during the tribunal proceedings what is this server and how they got access to it and how they got their numbers. You do not go to court in an election petition by quoting INEC server or any other server. Anyone can create a server, I can go and buy it, it is a piece of equipment and call it INEC server. But that does not mean that it amounts to anything, we are guided by the electoral act and the evidence act and other enabling legislation and he has to prove his case. But anyone can make claims; we live in the age of fake news and fake claims. Anyone can make claims but you have to prove it.”

The electoral body had announced Buhari as winner of the election in Kaduna State, having polled 993,482 to defeat PDP’s Atiku, who polled 613,318.
