Iamgrey5: It is good to point out to the Over enthusiastic PDP apologist that the Judges of the Osun tribunal never said that Supplementary election is illegal, they only said it is not necessary in this case.
They said PDP provided enough evidence that elections were held and declared at the polling unit where elections were cancelled, but elections were cancelled by the returning officer. According to them, a returning officer doesn't have the power to cancel a result when it has been declared at the polling unit.
The gray area is how they subtracted the results of the Supplementary elections and declared the PDP the winner based on the original results.
The chairman of the tribunal claimed that the tribunal has no such power, rather it should order inec to conduct a fresh election or add the votes that were initially cancelled
Section 140(3) of the Electoral Act, where substantial non compliance is proved, the tribunal can only order a supplementary or fresh election. The second paragraph of your submission is where the victory arises from. Surely APC cannot secure victory at the SC and COA. Common sense made it clear at the tribunal for all to see. The REC did not have the power to cancel the votes which he did. The election was won at the first instance by PDP if not for the cancellation by the REC. Do you remember the famous phone call received by the REC when he was announcing the results. That was the point of no return where the "ojoro" was done. You may just wonder why Onnoghen was accused and removed hurriedly on the eve of the election. PDP offered 20 prayers as the lawyers called it and got this one affirming their victory. I think we all should accept it in good faith. |

They all felt that as long as they were in the good books of the presidency, they didn't need the people. Now, that the chips are down, they now remember their people at the last minute. If the presidency had refused to help any governor with dss, compromised police force, compromised army or biased inec staff, almost all state governors of apc will lose their re-election. . Even at that with the recounting of the votes and subtractions made by the tribunal today it showed that the PDP won. Look we should go past the age of hoodwinking and bamboozling by greedy politicians. We all saw clearly what happened during the do called re runs where APC positioned soldiers, police and thugs. They backed it up with money to the hands of the people. PDP supporters could not vote in their own strongholds. Even if the rule by the supreme court is upheld there do not forget the issue of valid votes counted and re echoed by the tribunal today. Lastly do you remember that President Buhari told us all that APC used remote control in Osun state? If there is anything left of the APC called intergrity then they should just accept defeat. Clearly APC was beaten by the electorate who voted. The combined vote of the PDP and SDP far exceeded APC votes indicating rejection. |

I am not a lawyer but with the benefit of commonsense I think Oyetola cannot win at the supreme court. The election tribunal held that the re run was illegal but the supreme court hold a different view. APC will be hoping to hold on to that supreme court rule as maintained immediately after the election by Lai Mohammed. But among the prayers of the PDP was the issue of over voting and rigging. Tribunal ruled that the REC did not have the power he exercised there. That was the REC who got a call in the middle of announcing the result and stopped. Votes were deducted from those of the two parties and PDP won. I think even if the supreme court rules the re run issue in favour of APC what will happen to the deducted votes that secured the PDP victory? Surely it cannor be swept under the carpet. Politics › Re: I Will Correct Lapses Of My First Tenure – Buhari by Cantonese: 9:25am On Mar 22, 2019 |
sophsia62: President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to correct lapses of his first tenure in his final lap in office, which begins on May 29.
He gave the assurance when he received the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) led by the National President, Chris Isiguzo, in the State House, Abuja.
The president, while responding to the many issues raised by the journalists bordering on insecurity, lopsided appointments, freedom of speech among others, said that he is going to improve on what he has done in the last four years.
Acording to him, “there will be a change, a positive change.”
Buhari also appreciated the role journalists play in a democracy, describing them as unique set of professionals.
Speaking to State House Correspondents on the reason for the visit, Isiguzo said: “Basically, we have come to congratulate the president on his re-election as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and of course, to also make it clear to him that to whom much is given, much more is also expected.
“He’s gone through the first-four years; by May 29, he will be through with that and he’s been given yet another mandate to lead Nigeria for another four years. We also made it clear to him that some of the major challenges we have had in the past four years, this is an opportunity for him to correct them, especially when it comes to the area of inclusiveness, carrying everybody along.
“That is the spirit of federal character principle that is enshrined in our constitution; that he’s got to carry people along, and of course, we talked about the security problem that we have, not just in the North-east, but even the banditry in the North-west; in Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto.
“We challenged him to ensure that the security architecture is overhauled to be able to effectively tackle these challenges that we have. We commended him for the fact that, as we speak now, there is no part of the country that is under the control of insurgents which is good, unlike when he came on board. But we also told him that it is very very important that terrorism is completely stamped out – effectively tackled and not technically degraded. We want it to be out of our national life.
“That was what we told him. Coming to us, we drew his attention to the fact that journalism profession has become more like a challenge to all of us. The problem that we are having every now and then, and of course, freedom of expression, it does appear that it is taking flight and we said if we are indeed a democratic nation, journalists must be given free hands to ply their trade.
“A situation where there is clampdown and harassment doesn’t speak well for Nigeria as a democracy and we told the president that.”
On the recent elections and the role of Nigerians in demanding accountability, the NUJ president said: “Well, there is this post that has been trending on social media that a group of people that elects a bad leader are not victims. They are accomplices. Now that we have voted in our leaders, it is also incumbent on us to put them under check. You don’t elect people and not bother about what they do. You only wait for them to bring bags of rice, bags of salt. A lawmaker that has been elected is coming to donate Keke NAPEP and Okada to you. That is not the reason he was elected. So, it is not only the journalists that will hold leaders accountable, the citizens must also hold accountable those that have been elected at all times.”

I believe he got 7 figures. Which is between 1million naira and 9.9million naira. Whether Charlie Boy was paid nine figure or less does not matter anymore my friend. What we are talking about here is morality. All the time Charlie boy was going around playing the proverbial ostrich and pretending to Nigerians with his so called "our mumu don do", he was actually doing a show for the government of Mr. Intergrity to recognize him and offer him bribe which he collected. Whose mumu don do? Surely the mumu Charlie boy was talking about was his siddon look while APC men were sharing money. People paraded the streets of Abuja in honesty with Charlie boy, got teargassed with yet but behind the scene Charlie boy was bribed. What a shame on him and Festus Keyamo. All the time Keyamo was talking about PDP and looting, he was sharing government funds to people. What sort of a country is this where the so called masses are fooled by politicians daily and systematically impoverished while the commonwealth is brazenly pocketed by them? What else do people need as evidence that APC has no idea on how move this country forward. The change mantra was a calculated fraud aimed at deceiving Nigerians and further enslaving them. The "next level" story is a carry forward of the failed change story. Hopefully APC by 2023 would not have succeeded in disintegrating this country before handing over. |

escodotman: ABUJA- The Federal Government, on Thursday, closed its case against the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, after it produced only three witnesses that testified before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT. Though FG initially expressed its intention to produce a total of six witnesses to substantiate all the allegations it levelled against the embattled CJN, however, shortly after the third witness was discharged, the prosecution counsel told the tribunal that it would be unnecessary to call further witnesses. The prosecution counsel, Mr. Aliyu Umar, SAN, told the tribunal that the defendant was at liberty to summon any of the listed but uncalled witnesses to testify on his behalf if he so wished. He was immediately overruled by the CCT Chairman, Mr. Danladi Umar, even as Onnoghen’s lawyer, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN, rejected the offer. “This is the case of the prosecution. If it feels that it is satisfied with evidence of the three witnesses, then so be it”, the CCT Chairman held. Thereafter, Awomolo told the tribunal that the CJN would in line with section 303 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, 2015, enter a no case submission with respect to all the allegations FG levelled against him. Awomolo, therefore, applied for record of proceedings of the tribunal to enable his client to file the necessary processes. The case was subsequently adjourned till next week Friday for hearing of the no-case application by the embattled CJN, as well as for adoption of the final written addresses. Earlier in the proceeding, the third prosecution witness, PW-3, Mr. Ifeoma Okagbue, a staff of Standard Chartered Bank in Abuja, told the tribunal that it was not true that the defendant possessed either $1million or £1million in any of the five bank accounts that necessitated the charge. Okagbue who told the tribunal that she started managing Onnoghen’s bank accounts since 2015, gave a load down of both the opening and closing balance of all the accounts from January 2018 to January 2019. She said the accounts were all linked to one Bank Verification Code, BVN, adding that the bank had upon securing an approval from the defendant, diverted funds from the accounts into various profit yielding ventures. The PW-3 told the tribunal that profits that accrued from the investments were credited back into the accounts. While two of the accounts are in Naira, the three others were Pounds Sterling, Euro and Dollar accounts. The witness told the tribunal that all the accounts were domiciliary, and were opened and managed at the branch of the bank in Wuse 2, Abuja . Before Mrs. Okagbue mounted the witness box, the PW-2, who is a retired Director at the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, Mr. Awal Yakassai, told the Mr. Umar led three-man panel that contrary to what was alleged in the media, he said the suspended CJN owned only five houses. He said it was not true that CCB investigators linked the ownership of 55 houses to the defendant. The witness made the disclosure after he was shown copies of Justice Onnoghen’s asset declaration forms, which the Federal Government tendered in evidence before the CCT. The embattled CJN was said to have submitted the forms marked as Exhibit 2 and 3, to the CCB in 2014 and 2016. Answering questions under cross-examination, the PW-2, told the tribunal that he served at the CCB for 29 years before he retired in April 2018. He admitted that the CCB was yet to verify Justice Onnoghen’s assets with a view to finding out if he made false declarations. Aside allegation that he failed to declare his assets as prescribed by the law, FG had in the charge marked CCT/ABJ/01/19, FG, alleged that Onnoghen operated five foreign bank accounts, contrary to section 15(2) of Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act. FG had insisted that it was the CCB that okayed Onnoghen’s trial based on certain infractions that were discovered in his asset declaration forms.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/03/breaking-fg-closes-case-against-onnoghen-after-3-witnesses/ Lalasticlala We truly do not understand the path the leadership of this country is towing. We still need to adopt this wait and see attitude concerning this matter. But come to think of it. Is it not said that "those who come to equity must come with clean hands"? As the CJN I do not think that he will be greedy and reckless like the politicians who have become fearless to the EFCC and ICPC. The man certainly would weigh his status ensuring that his image is not smeared. When he sits in judgement in cases of corruption he will apply his conscience and show that he has done his job with his hands clean. Except there is something else to it, the man should be set free and restored to his exalted position. Hopefully our leadership is not misleading all citizens. |

Enixfashionhous: Do you want to grow your natural hair faster and longer? How do i grow my hair faster and longer? This is the question i used to ask myself and i also know its the question some ladies are asking.
To get longer hair and to make it grow fast you don't have to look farther than your kitchen. I'm here to tell us how to use some ingredients we use in cooking and also some food items to grow your natural hair faster and longer. Here are some of those items/ingredients:
WATER Water helps in hair growth. The most important thing to do for our hair and body is to drink enough water. Staying hydrated is very important. By drinking water regularly your skin, scalp and body will function properly. When you are dehydrated your hair growth becomes staunched. You can also use a spraying bottle fill it with water and spray your natural hair at least twice a week.
RICE WATER What is rice water? Rice water is the starchy water that remains after rice is cooked or left to soak. Rice water contains many of the vitamins and minerals contained in rice itself.
They include: Amino acids, Vitamin B, Vitamin E and antioxidants.
Benefits of rice water - Rice water de-tangles the hair - It increases the shine and makes the hair stronger - It helps the hair grow faster and longer
How to make rice water There are different ways to make rice water
SOAKING This is the quickest way to make rice water. Method Take 1/2 cup of uncooked rice Rinse the rice Put the rice in a clean bowl with 2-3 cups of water Leave it to soak for 30 minutes Strain the rice water into a separate clean bowl Then pour your rice water into a spraying bottle
FERMENTED Some people prefer to use this method because it has more benefits than the other methods. To ferment rice water use the same steps as the soaking method, but you'll soak the rice for 48 hours before straining the rice water. In this method you have more nutrients because the water was soaked for a long period of time.
BOILING Another way to make rice water is by boiling it. Method pour your rice into boiling water, when the rice is per-boiled, strain the water from the per-boiled rice and allow the rice water to cool down before using it.
HOW TO USE RICE WATER - Wash hair with shampoo - Rinse your hair - Pour the rice water on your hair - Massage it into the hair and scalp - Cover you hair with shower cap and leave it for about 20 minutes - Rinse hair using warm water You can store your rice water in the fridge for one week.
https://enix.com.ng/grow-your-hair/ If you like mix ogogoro with potash and rub for hair, no way. If it was so simple there would never be bald people around. |

9jaRealist: The government does not shoulder any responsibility except for paying pre-existing pension liabilities and gratuities to former workers of PHCN. And if you think that DISCO investors are “smiling to bank” when they are buying power at N80 kw/h and selling at N31.26 kw/h (and that is even if they can collect 100% payments and/or power is not being stolen), then I have a bridge between Ikoyi and Lekki to sell to you.
Meanwhile, it is very easy to find out who the owners of the GENCOs and DISCOs are, This is not secret information, and can easily be gotten from BPE, CAC or NERC, among other agencies/sources. Nigerians love silly conspiracy theories, as if the wealthy did not purchase these assets (which btw turned out in most cases to be much worse than the government portrayed them - just ask North-South Power about the state of Kainji), you were going to purchase them and make the massive investments necessary to rehabilitate and expand these facilities. Now the question is this. Do they make the massive investments necessary to rehabilitate and expand these facilities? Aside from telecommunications can you indicate any other asset bought up by these people and managed properly? |
Politics › Re: Buhari Declines Assent To Five More Bills - Thisday Newspaper by Cantonese: 4:29am On Mar 21, 2019 |
deomelo: Again, in case you missed it, what the FG is obligated to pay or not to pay is totally irrelevant because the DISCOs still have to come out of pocket to pay their own bills or maybe you mean the FG is responsible for their entire operations and financial obligations.
Btw, you are wrong, it was a crooked, corrupt, thoughtless, unrealistic, unpatriotic and hastily signed agreement. What's so private about an agreement that saddled the FG for nearly half of the DISCOs and FG subsidies? There's nothing private about privatization because the FG is still involved and on the hook for for hundreds of billions, even trillions forever.
The whole DISCO/Privatization agreement = SCAM. See the truth is that corruption, greed and insensitivity is a major issue in this country. The assets are bought up by them whether fully or partially privatized. They are the ones that lose their stolen monies invested there. Until corruption is dealt with completely this country will remain where it is. Have you ever wondered who and who own the Gencos and Discos? They are owned by the same people that we fight ourselves to vote for. The agreememt was carefully crafted to make government shoulder most of the responsibilities while they simply smile to the bank. The reverse is the case now as they are heavily indebted to the banks. Very soon estimated billing will become complete history and let's see how they move. |

he greedily wanted to reorder election sequence , so that we could have wasted a whole weekend for senatorial election not minding inec overhead cost.
They tried pressuring Buhari using there twitter influencers, And Media but failed. I believe they would still fail.
That was how Jonathan was tricked to sign the worst sales agreement known to mankind by selling off PHCN to some few elites without any buy back clause or arcertaining if the new distribution company has capacity to provide meters And transformers. Till now just because of one mans hasty signature, we all have to contend with fraudulent estimated billing Please note that bills are never rushed to the president's desk for assent. The president knows what happens in the national assembly minute by minute. He has Ita Enang a former senator as his laison officer there. It takes a lot of work to come up with those bills. If your senator sleeps in the office you complain of his laziness. But is it not worrisome that 26 bills have been refused assent by the president? Has he made himself a headmaster to the national assembly? At that rate how can this country move forward. We have not heard how after being return to the national assembly for amemdment the president eventually signed. See two years ago on returning from one of his several medical trips the president told us how slow he is with his decision making process. That is what we are presently experiencing. With his personal issues and clearly his recent signs of memory loss certainly will affect his work rate. Do you honestly think he is able to govern? Next if Jonathan signed the sale of PHCN with all the clauses inserted, we'd probably still be in the same situation today. The reason clearly is that corruption has taken over everywhere. The politicians want everything to themselves only. What happened to other public assets sold before Jonathan? Have you forgotten that the greedy politicians buy them for pittances, sell off the properties, make huge profits and abandon them. The president needs to sign bills in good time to enable this country move forward. We do not want to move to the NEXT LEVEL. From what we experienced after the failed change please let us think about moving forward. |

Go to the second page of this thread and see where a lady quoted me on the same issue and the response I gave to her. Paedophiles are everywhere, but if your child will keep collecting 200 naira to hush up after being abused, then something is fundamentally wrong with the style of parenting.
We live in a society where people choose to blame others than to take responsibility for their own mistakes. A good parent would notice signs of molestation in a child the very first day it happens.
I have not in any way, absolved the bastard paedophile of any blame and since he's facing the wrath of the law already, what's the need talking about him anymore...
But you were very rude to compare another person to a paedophile. You lack the kind of depth and maturity required for your age, grandpa! That's why I maintain that you are not a parent. Hopefully you will have children and understand what it takes. A paedophile takes advantage of a child, molests the child and threatens the child with injury or death. The child gets home, shuts his or her mouth out of fear of injury or harm. I believe you have not heard of that before. I maintain that your words were very harsh and unbecoming of a "trained" person. Already you have exhibited your lack of depth for your age so certainly the future for you in terms of wisdom and knowledge will be worse. Maturity is not in the books for you. You probably have not seen or heard about the sons and daughters of the very wealthy who are prostitues and armed robbers. Do the daughters of the rich not get abused by paedophiles or is it that their parents do not try their very best to provide security? How many of the daughters of the rich speak up when they are raped? So your so called 200 naira given to children of the poor by paedophiles is simply the other side of the divide. I thank God that I am a grandpa. You must pray to get a wife and get children and find how challenging parenting can sometimes be. On the social media a lot of people like you need to find the right words to address certain issues. If you cannot find soothing words then let the issue pass. |

germanized: You lack manners and home training too... I am well trained, well mannered and a grandfather. Did you read your initial response to the story? I believe that if you are a parent, you would never respond that way. Secondly it is even clearer that even if you did not get any home training, you did not grow up training yourself in anyway. Abeg make I hear word. |

Politics › Re: Nigerian Government May Increase VAT To Fund New Minimum Wage by Cantonese: 7:24am On Mar 20, 2019 |
nwakibie3: "There may be the need to make some changes, especially the VAT, in order to fund the minimum wage once it is announced."
Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and National Planning, has given indication that the government may need to increase Value Added Tax (VAT) to fund the new national minimum wage.
He stated this on Tuesday when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Finance at the hearing to deliberate on the new national minimum wage of N30,000 approved by the Senate.
The Senate had approved the new figure at its plenary on Tuesday.
Speaking before a panel led by Senator John Owan Enoh, Udoma noted that the Technical Advisory Committee on the minimum wage would submit its report to President Muhammadu Buhari during the week.
“The current minimum wage of N18,000 is really too low. It is difficult for workers to manage on that amount. The President supported a review but it is important that as we are reversing it, we should be able to fund it. It is in the light of this that we would be coming to you (Senate), because there may be the need to make some changes, especially the VAT, in order to fund the minimum wage once it is announced,” he said.
