PoliticsRe: "Buhari Will Win 2019 Elections" - Eurasia Group, Foreign Firm Says by Cantonese: 10:18pm On Feb 08, 2019
aminulive:
@POLITICSNGR

Eurasia Group, One of the World's largest Political Risk Consultancy firms has predicted that President Muhammadu Buhari will win the 2019 Presidential Elections.

The Group, founded in 1998 by American political scientist Ian Bremmer, said Buhari has a 60 per cent probability to win. This was contained in its recent Political Forecast.

According to the Group; “Opposition candidate Atiku Abubakar has regained some momentum in recent weeks, but President Muhammadu Buhari remains favored to win (a 60% probability),” the group said.

“On election day, the ruling All Progressives Congress’s (APC’s) significantly greater control of local political structures and resources, it governs 23 states compared to the opposition’s 12, will boost voter mobilization and solidify Buhari’s advantage.”

In 2015, Eurasia Group also predicted that Buhari will defeat former president Goodluck Jonathan, changing its stance some weeks to the election after it had initially chosen the former president to win.

PoliticsNGR observed that the group also highlighted reasons why the PDP might lose adding that the DG of Atiku's Campaign, Bukola Saraki was distracted by the battles he is facing in the National Assembly coupled with the weak campaign being run by South-East governors who are not to happy with the emergence of Atiku's running mate, Peter Obi.

The group stated; "Wike was annoyed by Atiku’s failure to consult him on key decisions, Saraki remains distracted by a tough Senate reelection battle in Kwara state, and the southeast governors are hampered by many conflicting motivations, including their own lack of political clout (which makes them reluctant to overtly challenge the federal government) and their wariness of Atiku’s running mate Peter Obi, a former governor of the southeastern Anambra state who they view as a political outsider.

The lack of enthusiasm on the part of some PDP governors is a problem for Atiku because these officials control significant discretionary funds at the state level (known as ‘security votes’) that are easier to access without triggering graft concerns."

PoliticsPDP 2 - APC 0 by Cantonese(op): 10:14pm On Feb 08, 2019
With a few days to go to the election, PDP is already ahead of APC by two goals to nothing. Notably INEC pronounced in Zamfara and Rivers states that APC has no candidates. The courts including the supreme court has backed INEC. Effectively APC will not appear on the ballot papers in the two states. PDP already has the advantage. Even if APC compels their voters to back another party, it will be useless in the presidential election. APC will not get a single vote in those states. All PDP votes will count and as we can see PDP is already ahead. The same fate awaits APC in Delta state where Oshiomole recognised Prophet Erue/Ogboru instead of Cyril Ogodo/Utomi. If it happens there it will be 3 - 0 in favour of PDP.
With what we have been seeing in the campaigns Atiku is moving faster with the PDP. Why don't you Atikulate now before it is too late?

Stop misleading the public. What the appeal court did was to grant a stay of execution to inec which is a means of saying, "hold on from disqualifying them till we hear the case and make a judgement".
Besides, it can't direct inec to reinstate them cos it is not yet settled on the one to admit between the two factions
Thanks bro. APC and its bandwagon of liars and deceivers have started deluding themselves and deceiving the public. The appeal court never authorized APC to continue. And by the way have they reminded the public of the matter in contention? If the appeal court asked APC to continue which faction is it referring to? Did you listen to Magnus Ibe's lawyer when he clearly stated that the Amaechi faction misinterpreted what the stay meant. Clearly if APC goes to election and let us assume that they win, they will most certainly be thrown out by the court.
Just to refresh our memories, the lower court said you cannot built something on a non existent thing. It means the 2 factions are non existent. Gbam!

sarrki:
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, Atiku Abubakar is an “indigene” of Cameroon.

Kanu stated this on Saturday during his live broadcast from London, UK.

The IPOB leader further blamed Atiku for the failure of Alex Ekwueme .
Kanu said: “Some of you do not understand that the person behind the failure of Ekwueme in 1999 during PDP convention was Atiku

“Do you know that Atiku Abubakar is from Cameroon? His area of Adamawa was in Cameroon.

Kanu, however, warned Nigerians against voting in the forthcoming 2019 election.

“By voting, all you are doing is perpetuating the misery of our people.

“To vote in the zoo means to endorse 1999 fraudulent constitution. By voting, all you are doing is perpetuating the misery of our people.

On calling off the referendum given to Biafrans to boycott the 2019 election, Kanu called on the government to sign the document given to them.

According to him, that is the only way the 2019 election would not be boycotted by Biafrans.

PoliticsRe: Acting CJN Warns Judges Against Frivolous Political Injunctions by Cantonese: 11:20pm On Jan 28, 2019
phyllosilicate:
The acting Chief Justice of the Federation (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, has warned judges against granting frivolous injunctions to politicians, as their administration of justice must be seen not to be partisan.

He gave the warning on Monday in Abuja at the opening ceremony of a two-day workshop organised by INEC with support from European Centre for Electoral (ECES), and the National Judicial Institute (NJI)

Mohammed said judges that will be sitting on the election petitions must be upright by taking the training seriously.

Represented by the Court of Appeal President, Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachuwa, the acting CJN said judges must guard their integrity.

“You must guard your integrity and the integrity of the Judiciary by avoiding acts that will bring you under the disciplinary jurisdiction of the National Judicial Council as it will not hesitate to wield the bug suck of sanctions to any Judicial Officer who is found wanting in the discharge of his duties,” Mohammed said.

He pledged that they will continue to do their best to ensure that Judicial officers remain conversant with the provision of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended and other relevant laws towards ensuring efficiency and uniformity in the quality of judgement.

He said, “You must refrain from granting frivolous injunctions. Remain impartial and most importantly, shun any form of inducement. It is mandatory for you to analyze facts based on the applicable laws without prejudice.”

The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, at the occasion, decried what it described as conflicting judgements that put the commission in difficult positions.

Yakubu who said conflicting judgements create uncertainty in the polity. He expressed confidence that the training will avail the judges the basics of the electoral process.

Yakubu who was represented by a National Commissioner, Mrs. May Mbu, decried lack of consequential orders arising from judgements concerning election matters.

“For our part, there are two major areas of concern. First is the issue of conflicting judgments arising from pre-election and post-election cases. As a firm believer in the rule of law, the commission always obeys court orders or, where it is considered necessary, appeals them in the interest of justice.

“There have been over 1,200 cases involving the commission since the 2015 general elections and not in a single case has the commission disobeyed a court order.

“However, conflicting judgements, especially by courts of coordinate jurisdiction at the High Court level are putting the commission in a very difficult position and creating uncertainty in the process.

“Conflicting court orders are negatively affecting the consistency, neutrality, and public perception not only of the commission, but the judiciary as well. There is therefore the urgent need to address the issue of conflicting judgements in order to engender certainty in the electoral process,” he said

Who knows?

Let's talk about the thieves
Shamelessly the likes of Rotimi Amaechi and co call PDP a party of thieves. Let us agree with him. But let us remind him that he was and is still a thief. As long as he held all his positions in Rivers under PDP then he and his group of co travellers should be reminded that they are thieves.
By historical records Amaechi was PA to governor Odili. He lived in one room somewhere in town then. He showed everyone on TV the old building when he went to visit his former one room neighbours. He was a beneficiary of a court judgement under the same PDP that made him the governor. Who do he and his group want to deceive on the sources of their wealth? It is clear to all. If Jonathan listened to him, would he have decamped from the PDP then?
Hopefully they will be defeated fair and square and the baba from Daura will return there to have some rest and take care of himself.
When Nadeco made all the wahala how much did Tinubu have? Did he amass his own wealth fairly and squarely? We all know that our politicians, at least of this era, are there just to loot the treasury without fear or shame. That is why Nigeria remains like this. Voters are bewitched, confused, deceived, gullible and lost.

Which of them became rich by owning big factories or big organisations? At best they own hotels. Can the meagre amounts generated from their hotels pay their campaign bills?

Abeg Mr. VP make we hear something. If you associate with thieves you are a thief. The bible says it that "if you walk with the wise you become wise". So also it is that if you walk with the corrupt you become corrupt. The VP cannot claim clean hands. If the VP is not corrupt let him tell us the agreements enterred between him and Tinubu that took him to that seat.

As a christian Pastor let him swear that he has never given bribe or done something negatively to pervert the course of justice. Is it not constititional that he becomes president at the demise of the seating president. In his heart does he not wish the president bad luck so that he can take over?

Until he complies he remains a thief just like the people he accuses.

Governor of Kaduna state and Ranking APC chieftain, Nasir El-rufai has 'exposed' a plot by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to destabilize the 2019 Elections.

El-rufai revealed that the plot was hinged on fear of Imminent Defeat. Speaking during the weekend at a stakeholders' meeting in Kudan area of Kaduna, he disclosed intelligence reports made him aware of the development adding that Security agents were on alert to ensure the elections were peaceful.

In his words; "As a leader, it is my responsibility to tell you what is being planned because there are a lot of PDP bigwigs in Kudan local government and they may try to disturb the peace of this area,”.

"If any politician approaches any of you to cause violence, ask him to bring his child so that you will execute the plot together. Politicians are fond of using the children of the masses for nefarious activities while their children are either schooling somewhere, or are safe abroad.

"No life is better than the other. The life of a rich man’s son is no more precious than the life of a poor man’s son. Also, the life of an educated person’s son is of equal value as the life of an illiterate’s son,” he said.

PoliticsRe: 2000 PDP Members Will Welcome Buhari To Ebonyi – Gov Umahi by Cantonese: 5:37am On Jan 26, 2019
odiks:
Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi has assured that President Muhammadu Buhari would be welcomed to the state by at least 2000 members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Umahi has also allowed the All Progressives Congress (APC) to use the Pa Ngele Oruta stadium, Abakaliki for the party’s presidential rally on Jan.30.

He disclosed this on Friday at Ugbodo, headquarters of Ebonyi Local Government Area, during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship rally.

He said the President would be accorded all necessary courtesy.

“We would take our rallies on that day to our three senatorial zones while we allow them (APC) to use the stadium,” the governor said.

He sought the permission of the PDP supporters to allow some members to be at the stadium to receive President Buhari.

“At least, 2, 000 PDP members would receive the President at the stadium while you go about your rallies in your various zones.

“I have identified those who will receive the President; so, when you see our people at the stadium, don’t be angry, because it is my arrangement.

“We would even help them (opposition) with buses to get people from Enugu and Abia,” he said.

He thanked the people for the support for his administration and pledged to deliver more dividends of democracy such as infrastructure and health care services, if re-elected.

“I urge our party supporters not to destroy posters of the opposition party because we have the crowd and are on ground,” Umahi said.

Sen. Sam Egwu (PDP—Ebonyi North) said the large turnout of people at the event was an indication that people have accepted the governor.

Egwu, who is the first civilian governor of the state, noted that Ebonyi had been a peaceful state and should remain so before, during and after the elections,” he said.

Chief Goddy Ogbaga, Former Minister of State for Power, who hails from the area, commended the governor for his numerous infrastructure provisions to the people.

“We also thank you for appointing our people into strategic government positions and have resolved to reciprocate these gestures by voting massively for you and all PDP candidates at the elections,” he said. (NAN)

PoliticsRe: Jimi Agbaje Laments, Over 3,000 Of My Billboards, Others Destroyed In Lagos by Cantonese: 2:06pm On Jan 25, 2019
three:
Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has raised the alarm over the persistent methods of removal of his campaign posters and political party signs, which he blamed on the agents of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He claimed that the practice, which has been on since campaign for the 2019 gubernatorial election started, obviously confirmed APC’s ill-motive and desperation to ensure that there is no level playing field.

In an interaction with The Guardian, Agbaje said PDP has on several occasions been the victim at the barbaric hands of miscreants, who have vandalized no fewer than 3,000 billboards and campaign materials in prime areas such as the Third Mainland Bridge; and have also enjoyed continued support from members of the ruling APC.

According to him: “The support received in the execution of these unlawful acts from the APC is evidenced by the surreptitious release of culprits, without sanction, including officials within the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), apprehended recently in relation to the crimes.

“This has led to an increase in the unlawful activities, which have now been reported to be prevalent in over 35 constituencies across the state. “Is this how the APC intends to conduct elections – by stifling the opposition?”

The PDP candidate expressed displeasure that despite the best efforts of the Lagos State police commissioner towards thwarting these illegal activities “members of APC have devised other surreptitious strategies all in an attempt to silence and emasculate any opposition to their ‘anointed’ candidate for the position of governor.

The continued use of state apparatus and resources to fund the political campaign and that of their candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the excessive use of federal might in a local election are few out of the many instances of the ruling party’s arbitrary exercise of state power.”

Agbaje affirmed that neither his party nor the electorate could be cowed by the antics of the ruling party, which campaign materials are currently everywhere as if there are no other contestants. He said, “In a true democracy, one of the core tenets is the existence of a level playing field for every party without fear or favour.

Every citizen should be afforded the opportunity to consider the alternatives and not to be forced into making a decision. The acts by the ruling party are akin to a dictatorship aimed at oppressing the law-abiding members of the PDP who do not possess the political might and or the financial exuberance of APC.”

He, therefore, urged the electorate to stand against any form of tyranny as the election approaches, saying this is the best time to deliver the state from the shackles of bondage and ensure freedom to its people who have been held down under the whims and caprices of select individuals who have monopolized its resources and accumulated public funds for their private benefit.

He appointed Chief of Defence Intelligence from his tribe and religion; we were the more quiet. 13. He appointed his kinsman, same religion, tribe and region the INEC Chairman, just to ensure he declares him winner even if he loses, and we equally said nothing! 14. He appointed the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice from his tribe and religion, we said nothing too!
15. A man is elected President and he concentrated the appointments of heads of entire security agencies in the country in one religion and region and you didn't notice it was in furtherance of an agenda? 16. Why is he so interested in having all the security heads from his religion and region? 17. Generals Obasanjo and T.Y. Danjuma, President Buhari's major supporters, have come out publicly to speak on their fears for Nigeria. The elders know Nigeria is sliding into great danger. Any moment from now, like they called Chief Obasanjo names; they will call Gen. Danjuma too. They might tell you it's because PMB has stopped corruption that the General is angry and crying. They won't tell you that General Danjuma is a very rich Nigerian already that do not need anything from govt appointees. 18. Once President Buhari returned from London, after his last discharge from hospital, at the peak of IPOB agitation, he made a national broadcast and launched "Operation Python Dance" to deal with IPOB. His Attorney General applied to court to declare IPOB a terror group and proscribe it. IPOB never killed a single Nigerian to our knowledge. 19. Uptill this day, the President has not made any broadcast on fulani herdsmen and their militant wing, that have killed and pillaged Nigerians in their thousands. Their leaders come out to take responsibility for such killings and they are still walking free. No arrest. No prosecution. It is an agenda. 20. Who do we now blame? We were warned but we didn't heed the warnings. We needed change so badly and anything but Jonathan was fine. 21. Chief Femi Falana, Pastor Bakare and other rights advocates, you have let Nigerians down. You spoke so vehemently against GEJ but kept quiet in the face of tyranny, injustice and killing of Nigerians under PMB. God will request the blood of the Nigerians who have died in the hands of the emboldened herdsmen,at your hands. As General Danjuma said, we are in real danger in Nigeria. Silence is no longer golden! 2019 is fast approaching, a chance we'll have to correct our mistakes and right our wrongs and to salvage what we have left, so please.... Kindly swallow your pride for the sake of humanity and share this message after reading it so that other people can read same and together we can make amends.

The smart card reader will not fail as it did during the 2015 elections at some polling units, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Cross River State, Dr. Briyai Frankland, has said.

“Our smart card readers have been enhanced and upgraded. We have tested them at Osun, Ekiti as well as Anambra Central Senatorial District,” the REC said.

“In Anambra State, the failure rate was about 0.0%, in Osun State, I did not hear of any smart card failure. In our by election in Obudu, there was no smart card failure. The reason is that at each polling unit, we have technicians that fix these smart card readers in case of any challenge,” he said.

“Results will be transmitted from the polling units electronically and the result box will also be carried physically by the collation officers. When the collation officer comes with the physical result, it will be confirmed with the electronic results in the presence of the party agents and INEC staff.

“It is only when the physical result and the electronic results correspond that it will be approved by the party agents and the results will be accepted,” he added.

- to allege attempted murder or murder against the animal?
- does the hyena have any friend or relative to secure its bail?
- inside which of the cells would the animals be kept and with who inside?
- to have an exhibition with the animal?
- to be fed by who and with what. Remember hyenas do not eat grass.
- keep the animal and use it to scare away PDP voters during the election?

Please tell us the plan bros.

if u dont know what you are saying keep quiet. I guess u are their party agent. We have contacted the Delta State Scholarship Board . They are not giving us any positive response and you are talking of patience. Why will the governor show us on Tv and claim that he has paid us when he did not give us a dime.

People like you are the reason why Nigeria is not working .
I guess this thing has pained you too much. People like you prefer to keep waiting for pittance and calling names when you should be thinking of moving forward.

PoliticsAPC and the use of Agberos in Lagos by Cantonese(op):
The only reason why Thugs would have the effrontery to start trouble in front of a sitting Governor is this:

The *₦282.60 billion IGR Lagos State Transport Sector* ceded out illegally.

The Lagos Agberos money spinning kalokalo.

You are wondering why Lagos Agberos can have 9 kids showing off in Atlanta Georgia, USA.

The Average illegal tax on Bike in Lagos is *₦600/day* sampling 6 locations.

The Average illegal tax on Keke Marwa in lagos is *₦1000/day* sampling 6 locations.

Average Illegal tax on yellow bus and molue is *₦3000/day* sampling 6 locations in Lagos.

There is a minimum of *120,000 bikes* in Lagos taxed illegally.

There is of minimum of *120,000 Keke Marwa* in Lagos taxed illegally.

There is a minimum of *145,000 registered Danfo buses and Molues* when we join the unregistered we will be talking of over *250,000 taxed illegally*.

These *Agberos* are very efficient in this illegal tax collections that they rarely miss.

*Okada*
₦600 x 120,000 = *₦72,000,000/day*

*Keke Marwa*
₦1000 x 120,000 = *₦120,000,000/day*

*Danfo + Molue* ₦3000 x 250,000 = *₦ 750,000,000/day*

Illegal tax at stake per day in Lagos is
*₦942 million/day*

The *Agberos* in Lagos stand to cash out:-
(₦72m + ₦120m + ₦750m) x 300 days annually = *₦282.6 billion annually*. Excluding public holidays and Sundays, some collect tax on Sundays.

Pls note the numbers of Bikes, Keke and buses in Lagos surpass the numbers I used in my analysis.

This is *91%* of the *IGR of Lagos in 2017* and some guys just screw the danfo drivers. That is why the drivers and conductors are mad in Lagos.

This is over *27%* of the *2018 Lagos State budget*.

This cash is more than the capital spending on education in Lagos since *1999*.

*This cash is more than the IGR of all the 35 states individually*.

If Lagos State takes just 50% of this cash and leave 50% to the Agberos we will fix our roads in 15 years max.

A VERY VERY VERY BIG COWARD. That is what Obanikoro is. Hopefully his days in public office have come to an end in spite of his carpetting yo APC. I thought that as a man he would fight and get himself out. Now clearly there is no evidence that Fayose received the funds from him. At his age and level he paid the sums to Fayose through proxies.
This also serves for all Nigerians to see why our politicians do all they do to get into those positions. STEALING.
Institutions are weak. Strong policies and laws are systematically circumvented by these politicians and the nation gets weaker daily.
We must vote them all out.
