"Do not complain because you don't have what you want, rather, be exceedingly grateful that you don't get what you deserve." |
"You cannot kindle a fire in any other heart, until it is burning within your own" |
"Seven days without prayer makes one WEAK" |
"You shouldn't have a hope-so salvation, but a know-so salvation" |
OK, fire away! |
Sanusi has a devious agenda and I'm afraid he also has the guts to execute it. He is an Abacha in pinstripe. |
@ Poster I am a born-again Christian, but I can tell you right now you're going down the wrong path. Save yourself the trouble. You're attempting to rehash Guido Ubaldus' so called "proof" of existence of God. Ubaldus was an 18th century mathematician/philosopher/engineer/priest rolled into one. He rolled out an infinite series that concludes with 0 = 1, meaning something is created out of nothing, and therefore God exists! The operation of his infinite series (that concludes with 0 = 1) is wrong, since he's dealing with Ellipses. The work did not abide with a basic math principle that 'alternating series diverges'. If 0 = 1, then it proves that math is unreliable, not that God exists. I was raised by professors (one of my parents is a math professor) and the series has been faulted a long time ago. And who told you atheists can believe in God's existence through math? I find it equally funny that believers are categorized as imbeciles while atheists are smart?! Are you kidding me? My almost-70-yr-old Mom will run rings 'round the smartest atheist in physics, math, and general science but she's a solid believer. These guys are atheists by choice, and a believer also believes by choice. The knowledge of God is the BEGINNING of all wisdom. |
Let's see how far down Sanusi Lamido's vigilante CBN will drag the banking system. His inordinate actions and underhanded motives are gradually being exposed. |
*To true believers who may be genuinely concerned about Pastors: 1 Peter 4:17 - "For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God’s household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God’s Good News?" * To those deriding/attacking Pastors, and quoting Scriptures to back themselves up, please read: Romans 14:4 - "Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him judge whether they are right or wrong. And with the Lord’s help, they will do what is right and will receive his approval." * To activist atheists who are jumping into the fray: What is your business? Be satisfied with your own 'enlightenment' and stop castigating believers as fools. Conclusion - I want to avoid joining issues with specific people on NL, at least not yet. It appears that some people have what we call "agro" or "bad belle" against some Pastors. I also noticed how young most of these mouth-running posters are - Most are under 30 years old for crying out loud! You guys are too young to disparage these Pastors. You are in the prime of your lives. There is no need for you to get entangled with messy and denigrating discourse. A word is enough for the wise. |
Couples experience tremendous levels of stress when they relocate to a different country. The truth is that both of you are under stress and you have to work doubly hard to succor one another. He's not here, so here's my advice for you - Please do not drive your husband up the wall. Almost all heart-wrenching physical abuse (by the man) is preceded by an equally appalling big-mouth/verbal abuse (by the woman). Both actions are just as reprehensible. You whipped your husband with a stick? I know a man who lived in the park and in his car for six months because of his argumentative/cantankerous wife! Talk about a man's preference of living in the wilderness than in a palace with a warmonger Amazon. You guys will reconcile; I have no doubt about that. However, please promise yourself not to "beat up" your husband with your tongue again! I wish you nothing but the best. |
The equation of employment in every capitalist society goes like this: Your Efforts > Your Compensation That's what keeps everyone employed. If you reverse the sign (to 'less than'), you get FIRED! |
I see 2 disconnects here: It appears that you and your husband do not share the same (1) Cultural Values, and (2) Religious Values. You have your work cut out for you in your marriage, as these differences may drive a wedge between you in the future. All the best! |
Mom is obviously a control freak - Even if you marry your Okoro Babe, Mama will take the cake as the 'Worst Mother-In-Law'. Try to forgive her and move on. |
Man's inhumanity to man; the bane of Nigeria. |
Yeye Microsoft product as usual! Na wallpaper we go chop?! MS should beef up the security of existing software instead of bilking consumers of billions of dollars. |
N10 Million ransom = The cost of a non-existent Nigeria Police Force |
Does this mean that 80% of Nigerian travelers abroad do not return within the visa validity? Na wa o for this Keshi guy o. How about oyinbo embassy staff wey dey sell visas? Abeg comot! |
Forget about drugs my people! For a Jamaican to continue to dominate the US like this, they would have tested every type of fluid from his body (urine, saliva, sweat, even tears) for drugs. He's not named BOLT for nothing. |
Since we have refused to plan for ourselves (OK, we have a 7-point Agenda), other uninformed people will plan for us. |
Before nko? |
This is a sad tale indeed. As a fellow Akokite, I would have given you a chance, at least, if I was still in Nigeria. It may not be as effective, but I will see who I can link you up with for a job. I suppose you're in Lagos. |
@ whiteroses Take am easy na; no be fight ![]() But your point is well taken. @ Poster I believe this is for security reasons. Many bank/customer robberies have been carried out with 'real-time' internal communication. I guess not having your cell is the 'privilege' of working as a bank teller. It makes sense to me, and Whiteroses ![]() |
C'mon NLanders! You are knocking great sports because you do not understand them. Very typical of my people - Conceited in ignorance!!! I learned baseball in a 10 minute conversation with a kid. I learned cricket by hanging out with my Indian friend who was too happy to explain the game's intricacies. I learned golf to keep my job. , And I L-O-V-E watching and playing them now, as I do soccer. Open your minds people. Quit advertizing your myopia. |
@ Poster Because he can. The motive could be driven by a combination of power and moral debauchery. (The moral part is assuaged by subscribing to the dogmas of certain religions) @ Leilah Such men are NEVER nagged out! If wife #2 nags, wife #s 1, 3 & 4 will gladly receive him with open hands. The balance of power is entirely with such (hopeless) men. |
Happy we made it at the nick of time. I bet meeting the "basic stadium infrastructure requirements of FIFA" means Naija scored C- or D. Anyway, we thank God say we no Carry-Over sef! |
It's a tough call though, poor guy. Policies are bright lines, not suggestions. |
Ribadu appears to possess the will and gumpsion to get things done - two qualities our leaders lack. |
Morally bankrupt and unwise parents play favouritism among their own children. It plants several evil seeds in the heart of the unloved, least of which is simmering or explosive apathy. Having favourite(s) is the easy thing to do, as some kids are just easier to love than others - But who told you parenting was easy?! It is harder to love some kids - I know, because I was tough as a child - But my parents (God bless them!) never showed it! When we were kids, my parents' mantra was, "You know we love you all equally" - I guess that was their own way of convincing themselves to stay the course ![]() |
She has to want to stay @ home. If you force her, knowing it's not in her "genes" (apologies to naijacutee), your home will suffer. She will manifest a wide range of passive aggressive behaviours - From running with the wrong crowd, to running your home into the ground! |
