Politics › Re: 8 Implications Of Kogi/Bayesa Elections In Nigeria by capitalzero: 7:36am On Nov 19, 2019 |
ENGINEERG: Nigeria, a country endowed by God, would have become one of the best countries of the world. But since her independence, her leadership has been her Nightmare. In 1999, over 20years ago- Nigeria returned fully back to democracy, but still, the leaders have been terrible. Democracy, where the will of the people should be the hallmark has been destroyed by power mongers, so Nigeria democracy can be termed as autocracy. Looking back, we saw the inglorious election of Morris Iwu, but we develop gradually during the time of jega, because we knew our vote counted then. But the recent INEC under Mahmoud has conducted elections that is taking us backward.
2days ago, the election conducted in kogi and Bayelsa, has raised eyebrows, because of the Impunity, Rigging, killings , security agencies compromise etc.
Listed below are 8 implications on Nigerians
1. In the future elections, there will be voter Aparty__ because voting is like wasting our time and risking our lives, because at the End, Power-that-be determines the Winners, people won't come out to vote again
2. Politicians will more take election as war__ because they will always want to march fire for fire..forget about the ceremonial peace accord
3. Thuggery will be more lucrative,..Going by the recent elections,I wonder how these thugs and hoodlums that are used are empowered with arms and ammunitions, vehicles, and I know they will smile to Bank
4.Many people become hopeless on Nigeria__its a fact that ,with this show of sham, people become hopeless on having good leaders who can transform our country
5. Good people will run away from politics---Yes, I have seen many people who don't want to talk on politics, because its traumatic to them
6. Governors won't bother to perform to be reelected---This is true, because if I can't talk on anywhere I can talk on kogi, it is a place I do visit.I almost cry whenever I visit, but at the end, the Governor won with wide margins..you know more!!!
7. Nigerians won't believe on anyone's Integrity anymore...Na so o, I know many people who still think they are dreaming , because they believe so much on BUHARI integrity, and wonder what is happening in his era?
8. More Security danger--- Its another implications because in all these elections , the thousands of hoodlums that were empowered won't want to be idle, so they start arm robbery or kidnapping
Add your own too ..God bless Nigeria you are actually right but it is surprising most people are just getting to know. elected leaders are representative of society. if majority in society are thugs, illiterates, corrupt, emerged leaders in any election would be thug, illiterate and corrupt as well. of course, there re exemption to every rule. nigerian society has lost moral values. people promote vices directly or indirectly. what is delaying total anarchy is religion hypocrisy. as more youths are embracing atheism and septic about religion, we will witness dystopia and collapse of social order. |

What is the value of lautech, what is Osun state share, can Oyo raise the money in months? Read up on the terms of dissolution before you spew political statement. The lecturers should better allow an audit of the school so there will be an end to this palava, if lautech with more students and similar fee structure with Osun State university can't survive, then when there is no free money for states (Oyo and Osun) to dash out again, questions would be asked about its operations audit has been difficult because of osun-oyo dichotomy. it is only sole ownership that can liberate the university. lautech just increases school fees closer to uniosun now but issue is that staff strength of lautech is more than uniosun. osun is not ready to give up lautech. if osun is ready, issue of payment will be sorted out. such payment will be in instalments. |

raumdeuter: Governor Seyi Makinde should be worried on why LAUTECH has not been self-sufficient in terms of funding and academic advancement since its creation, while Osun State University which was created a few years ago is making ways financially and academically.
It is a known fact that Oyo had always wanted to own LAUTECH alone but it is our common patrimony and nobody can appropriate it through blackmail or whatever. Osun is not in any way forcing itself on the joint ownership of LAUTECH. The supposed ‘plan to split’ signed by former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former governor Alao Akala was a ruse. There is a legal and sincere process to be followed if Oyo state is indeed interested in taking over LAUTECH. Osun government will be happy if Governor Makinde initiates that process.
Osun has always been cheated on LAUTECH: only one (1) out of the eight ( academic faculties is in Osun, while Oyo has about twice of the staff strength of the University. Osun single-handedly funded the infrastructure development in the LAUTECH campus in Osun; also 85 per cent of the total institution’s infrastructure is in Oyo, whereas funding is equally carried out. Despite this, we are fully committed to joint ownership of our joint heritage.

What is the PDP govt of Oyo doing about it, At least LAUTECH is on Oyo territory and 80% of the staff and assets are in Oyo State
Osun has its own state University and are not going on strike like Lautech
What Oyo should do is to buy out the stake of Osun in Lautech and fund the school on its own oyo paid salaries of lautech staff from jan to june. osun is supposed to pay betwen july and dec. osun pays july and part of August. lautech wage bill is around #350m. osun has refused to let lautech belongs to oyo solely. most of senior staff and lecturers are osun indigenes. akala wanted to pay osun off during the time of oyinlola but aregbesola stopped it. |

Cantonese: Sincerely our leaders are the problems that we have in this country.
In democracies abroad as they call it where we copied from, especially America, we find followers supporting their leaders even when sometimes wrong decisions are made by the leaders. They strive to get power and retain power whereever they have control of.
In our country money, influence and juju is used to make the people look and act foolishly. Bayelsans have never had good leaders since Alamaseigha. While he was governor for one and half terms Jonathan did not develop Bayelsa.
Jonathan lost the 2015 election because he refused to stick to his well known agreement of one term with the north. Members of his party decamped to punish him. PDP lost power, he lost but remained in the PDP to reposition the party and chart a new course, according to him.
For me it is a monumental disgrace that he aided the opposition to defeat his own party in his state. That he could not get Dickson and Secondus to give Alaibe the ticket shows that in Bayelsa Jonathan is a paperweight.
They say "no be to give monkey water be problem na how you go take collect cup for him hand". How can PDP ever recover from this loss. Shamelessly too Jonathan will attend BOT and NEC meeting in PDP. Notice that APC has showed Jonathan and PDP how to hold on to power and hynotize the people. I am very certain that Lyon will not be different from Dickson. All they need is power and control of the purse.
Next in line will be Rivers state in 2023. Let's see who Wike will support. if you are not from bayelsa, stop complaining. what happened on saturday election was ijaw political affair, not necessay apc matter. both members of apc and pdp still drink ogogoro together. |

netpro: BAYELSA STATE 1. The choice of the APC candidate is one of the first thing APC did right. A candidate who is very popular and well admired by the people. A vibrant young man who knows the challenges facing Bayelsa State.
2. The chances of APC winning Bayelsa State is also getting brighter due to the person who is the PDP candidate. The greed of Gov. Dickson in fostering his stooge on the party against popular demand.
3. Over the years, Governor Dickson has sidelined for President Goodluck Jonathan and other political bigwigs in the party. This is time for payback.
4. Gov. Dickson from all indications has failed, especially when you consider the huge Federal allocations the state Receives with its little population. Yet there is not enough development on ground to justify it.
5. APC in previous elections have made a significant in road in Bayelsa in terms of number votes and seats won, it is most likely this is time APC in the state will have a breakthrough. prophesy fulfilled. kudos |
Politics › Re: Jonathan Taught Dickson A Lesson With Governorship Election In Bayelsa by capitalzero: 8:46pm On Nov 17, 2019 |
LordVarys: For those who didn’t follow the buildup to the Bayelsa elections. Dickson disrespected GEJ and the Bayelsa elders. They had settled on Alaibe as a consensus candidate to replace Dickson. Dickson who Jonathan brought out of obscure House of Reps and made Governor disrespected GEJ and PEJ and bribed Secondus to have his way in the primary and impose his cousin Diri on the party.
Not only that he disparaged Bayelsa East- Jonathan’s people (Ogbia, Nembe and Brass) as non core Ijaw and traitors. Whole thing has been building from senatorial elections which was why APC won GEJ’s Senatorial district in the 2019 polls with his support.
All GEJ’s allies and boys moved to APC and David Lyon is a godson of Patience. Jonathan did not campaign for the APC candidate like his wife and mother out of self respect but his kinsmen ensured Dickson was taught a lesson without saying a word.
Jonathan’s polling unit, ward and senatorial district all delivered for Lyon. Wike and Jonathan and their allies all worked for Lyon. Irony of it is Dickson refused o reconcile and make any concessions saying he could win on his own. He was thoroughly defeated.
All politics is local.
In 2012 GEJ used Dickson to remove Sylva. In 2019, GEJ and PEJ worked with Sylva to remove Dickson.
The PDP national leadership is an embarrassment. Why would you let the interests of an underperforming governor who wanted to impose a stooge supersede that of the former president and party elders in a state who has shelved their interests to back the strongest candidate in the party Alaibe.
Jonathan could have insisted on any of his loyalists like Igali being the candidate but he settled on Alaibe who was formidable and had the support of all. Obasanjo even joined Jonathan to beg Dickson and Secondus to let Alaibe get the ticket. But Dickson wanted his cousin.
Bayelsa people hated Dickson particularly Bayelsa East(Jonathan’s people) who Dickson called non core Ijaw. Core Ijaws are apparently according to Dickson the Sagbama/Ekeremor/Southern Ijaws of Bayelsa and the Bomadi/Burutu/Patani of Delta and as such only them should be in charge of the only Izon state it is like those who betrayed or disrespected GEJ are licking their wounds. saraki, dino, dickson and many more. well, as events unfold buhari shall be the greatest politician in history of nigeria . |

Christianity Etc › Re: What Did Jesus Mean By "The Poor Will Always Be Among You"? by capitalzero: 7:35am On Nov 17, 2019 |
TechCapon: Seriously as Christians, we need to study our Bible and learn things for ourselves because there are so many things pastors will refuse to teach us in church and even if they do they won't elaborate on it. I was reading my Bible this morning and came Matthew 26 when Jesus was in Bethany and a woman came and pour an expensive ointment on his head, the disciples Judas Iscariot complained that she was wasting the oil that it should be sold and the money given to the poor instead.
Mathew 26:9 This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor."
Jesus responded and said something very striking. Mathew 26:9-11
“Why criticize this woman for doing such a good thing to me?You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me."
What did Jesus mean by that?
Did he mean that poverty is a phenomenon that will always be in the world forever?
If so, why are pastors always preaching prosperity? Why are they not telling their members the truth?
Bible experts please explain because pastors hardly preach about this particular scripture. POVERTY is not new to the world. Nearly 3,500 years ago the Israelites were told: “Someone poor will never cease to be in the midst of the land.” ( Deut. 15:11 ) Centuries later, when accepting an act of generosity, Jesus Christ acknowledged the same hard fact, saying: “You always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.”— Matt. 26:11. Poverty is a characteristics of human rulership. Jesus asked us to pray for God's kingdom |

opportunes: The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it has obtained approval from President Muhammadu Buhari to begin electronic process for clearing imported and exported goods. The Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali Rtd disclosed this on Friday at the graduation ceremony of 40 officers from the Senior Course 3 session at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College in Gwagwalada, Abuja. Col. Ali said the E-Customs deployment will transform the operations of the Service, providing for faster clearance of goods.
When this happens, Ali said, “Export and import processing will be paperless. Your performance evaluation report will not be written on paper and will fill it online and your superior will assess you online.” He challenged Customs operatives to have a mindset of training to adopt the skills once the clearance technology is deployed. Ali also noted that the College will have its name changed to Training and Doctrine Command following the Board’s approval. The Commandant of the College, acting Deputy Comptroller General, Elisha Chikan said the College had graduated two other Senior sets since 2017.
He said, “Although 40 students were admitted for the course, today we are graduating 39 because we lost one of them. Among the graduands are 13 female officers. Chikan charged them to become better ambassadors of the College, noting that the set were the best among the three Senior courses conducted so far.

The siblings – Olatunji Joe Beyioku (35) and Oluwayomi Beyioku (37) - were arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday, November 15, 2019, during a sting operation.
EFCC operatives had embarked on discreet investigations into the activities of the suspects when it was discovered that they are in the habit of the extorting ‘Yahoo Boys’ to help them evade arrest by the EFCC. .
According to EFCC Statement, the suspects claimed to be spy police officers with the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, and have ‘assisted’ the Commission with information on the whereabouts of internet fraudsters within the town, but it was discovered that they only expose those who failed to meet their demand, while others willing and ready to play ball are shielded.
It was also discovered that they have made several million of naira sabotaging the Commission’s efforts and live large therefrom.
A search conducted on the younger brother’s palatial residence along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway suggested that they may be living far above their means. .
Items found in the multi-million naira building also raised suspicion of the brothers’ possible involvement in other forms of criminal activities.
Items recovered from them include two cars, Honda Accord Crosstour and a Mercedes Benz GLK, different brands of mobile phones and charms.

FreemanTJ: I'm Confused With The Way Forward With My Relationship And Marriage
2 years ago I met a lady through a colleague. We got really close and became friends, few months later we got intimate and eventually she got pregnant. She was so scared and devastated and pleaded that I not only accept the pregnancy but marry her as well.....her parents are both pastors and she didnt want to bring shame to them by having a child out of wedlock.
The truth is, I wasn't ready for such commitment but I couldn't bear to see her depressed and so devastated, so I succumbed to getting married to her. Within 2 months we had to do a rushed traditional wedding and white wedding but before that I told her I felt trapped and we had an agreement we weren't going to be living together. This was because we both had different apartment at that time and due to proximity to work I wanted to stay on the island while she stayed on the mainland. She's an entrepreneur and since she was pregnant it wasn't going to be easy for her shuttling between island and mainland
She was ok with the agreement and all the while we lived apart. After the wedding I never wore the ring as I never considered myself married. My parents were the only ones that showed up at my wedding, all my sibling were really disappointed.
Anyway, to cut the long story, while I was with this lady before she got pregnant I met a lady at an event and immediately we connected. We would chat for several days and play chess game for long hours. We shared alot of common interest in our profession, games and all. She's not the reading type so I always recommend books for her to read and we reviewed together. After about 3 months of communicating online she asked if I was seeing someone, at that time my wife (it feels odd using the word wife) was pregnant, I stylishly dodged the question but she another she insisted I answered and I just had to confess I had a gf.
She thanked me for telling the truth, we continued playing chess but it wasn't as often. One time we were playing and started teasing sexually, she played along and was surprised I even mentioned anything sexual. Few months after, I got married but never mentioned it to her. I fear I might lose her while going through a marriage I never wanted. During this period I withdrew from all form of communication, I was trying to figure out my life yet distracted. She kept sending messages on WhatsApp which I ignored until after about 2 months, I responded and she was upset that after connecting so well I suddenly withdrew. She asked if I had a meltdown or emotional breakdown which I denied. Just told her I was detoxing from social media but I was back for good. So we continued chatting for another 3 months and decided we saw a movie together. After the movie I told her I wanted to see more of her. Eventually after some weeks, I invited her over and we got intimate. It wasn't the best of experience for her as she claims to have been celibate for over a year.
When she got home that night we discussed our sex extensively and she said she has never experienced orgasm and has always had painful. I felt I could change that experience for her. The next time she came over she asked if I truly had a gf since we spend alot of time communicating online, this time around I said I did but due to the distance we had issues and the rship isnt heading anywhere. I knew it was selfish of me but I wasn't ready to let go. After the third attempt she had her 1st orgasm and i could tell she wasn't ready to let go either.
After a while she got suspicious, she would tell me she had a dream of a short black lady chasing her out of my room and I kept reassuring her it was impossible but she kept insisting this dreams were recurring but I kept denying I had a gf or wife. She described my wife perfectly and I just wondered how some people are gifted with the ability to see things in dreams. All through the while she insisted on protection as she couldn't trust me completely. She grew more suspicious daily and I got defensive everytime and this started causing a strain in our relationship. During this period we were dating and I asked her if she publicizes her rship on social media and she mentioned no, then later she asked me what I was hiding but i got defensive and we had a major argument. you made first mistake. second mistake is about to happen. young man, please learn to love your pregnant wife- traditional marriage is valid in eyes of law. disaster is around the corner. |
