gaskiyamagana:Like I said, use your brains, the purpose of education is not to regurgitate stuff in exams but to train your mind to think. Even at full production, no stealing, 2m barrels a day @60% JV with zero cost of production @$80 a barrel is $35b a year. In reality, at full production our total income from crude is more like $25b a year because cost of production in Nigeria is about $20 a barrel. Diaspora remittance is $30b+ a year. Your argument is daft and unbefitting of an educated man. It it like saying you have a side income that is same or more than your salary but your side income is not important. Stop being daft for the world to see!!! You must be Ibo or Obidient. You are the ones that talk like brain dead people. Everything within the prism of tribe or politics that you sound so stupid in all your arguments. Simple analysis you cannot talk about without introducing Hate, bias or politics. You guys are so far gone in your emotion you are incapable of critical thinking. Simple assertion: diaspora is Nigerias largest source of forex. Yes or no! If yes then STFU! if no then prove it. Stay on topic!!! Nobody asked you for story!!! casualobserver: |
gaskiyamagana:Can you stop being so daft? Can you post like you actually went to school? Jelili the mechanic has more intelligence than what you posted. The Naira may be bad but without diaspora remittances it would be worse…..a lot worse. The largest source of forex into Nigeria for the last 4 years is diaspora remittance, more than oil, more than FDI. Use what is left of your brain.
|
Gilgil:We get over $30b a year from diaspora inflows. Don’t get me wrong I am not happy that we spend so much to educate our children abroad but when we say increase tuition so that we can raise the quality of our universities, you are the same people that will riot or strike. Those who want good education have no choice but to go abroad. Anyway, what we pay in foreign tuition is only about $2b a year. As for flight tickets, that has less to do with education and more to do with the government not enforcing the bilateral air services agreements. Why are foreign airlines allowed to come to Nigeria and we are restricted or not allowed to enter their own airports. Back in the day when they tried that nonsense with Abacha, he banned them, they eventually came back begging. I know because I was privy to the British lobbying efforts to restore their routes at the time. |
Righthussle:Did you listen to Bosun Tijani’s interview on channels? I urge you to if you haven’t. When you do, you will realize that Nigeria rightly sees japa as a legitimate solution to our lack of jobs and forex. Sentimental people will attack as usual but Nigerians are a commodity to be exported. We train you for skilled jobs abroad or remote work, you send money home. Like I said diaspora remittance is now our largest source of forex 4 yrs in a row. Anybody telling you they are trying to stop japa is lying to you. Watch Bosun’s interview. We have more bodies than we can provide jobs for and at the same time the western world is ageing. Skill up Nigerians send them abroad and you solve 2 problems…..jobs for Nigerians and forex. If I remember correctly he said half of those they are planning to train will eventually end up abroad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_7V9Q4aqoo?si=igTNT_az41OZI00h |
Kukutente23:To do what? What Nigeria offers me, the Uk can never give me. I go there to rest and come back. My friends who are there wish they can come back but they can’t. They left it too late. |
Theunbothered:Like I said many of you do not understand english. My comment was about forex. Read what I said again. I said you and anyone who wants to japa are free to go. We need your forex. Wetin be the fight again? This is the problem with Nigerians. You tell them the house is on the left they start arguing about how the man who owns the house killed his wife. Is that what I said or my business? Learn to stay on topic. I said japa is our largest source of forex, so if you want to japa feel free and whatever you see you see. I don’t know why you are arguing over the state of the country as if we do t know, or as if anyone is disagreeing with you that there are no jobs. Did I not say in the post there are no jobs in the country. Jesus wept!!! |
GboyegaD:There is a reason why when you people go abroad to study, they ask you to take English proficiency exams. Speaking and understanding English are 2 different things. |
GboyegaD:Learn to read before you respond. These are my passports, current and expired. I know japa engineers and professionals cleaning poop. If that is dignity good luck to you. Just send your forex home!
|
Theunbothered:Your point is what exactly? |
gaskiyamagana:They go, they do whatever they do, they see whatever they see. They send money home, they help Naira. End of story! |
SkullIMAM:I am not defending anything. Learn to stay on topic. Anyone who is familiar with my posts knows I am not an advocate of japaing. I think it will harm those who leave in the long run. I am simply making a statement of fact. Without japa Naira would be N3000 to $1….or more! Those who want to go and clean poo of old women should go. They are doing us that choose to remain a service because they send Naira home which helps the Naira. For the last 4 years diaspora remittances is the largest source of forex inflow into Nigeria. There are no jobs for them in Nigeria anyway. |
Let them continue to japa! Right now they are the country’s largest source of forex….even bigger than oil. They are the only thing we export besides oil. |
Gamesmart:Ibos are loud in everything..plus they have a habit of going to other peoples’ land and making noise bragging about their “achievements in other peoples’ land whereas Yorubas and other tribes respect themselves as visitors. If you count the number of Nigerian born mayors or politicians in America I am sure there are more Yorubas but the way Ibos carry on you will think every black mayor of politician in America is an Ibo man. |
profmallor:Typically average Yoruba man is motivated by education and status in society. The average Ibo man is motivated by money. Respect in Yoruba society is not achieved by money but by having a Noble profession. The average yoruba man seeks to have a Noble profession and it is usually their wives that are the hustlers…probably explaining why yoruba women are very aggressive. Most of the best yoruba brains produced between1970 and 1990 are unable to practice their highly sought professions in Nigeria so it is no surprise many yoruba professionals are abroad. Doctors, engineers etc. professionals also tend to be a quiet reserved group. So unless you take a poll you may not know how many actually exist as they are not given to noise making. |
opamoses1:The way Ibos carry on in the US, you will think they are the only Nigerians in the US. They are just loud!! |
jaxxy: ivandragon: Irony1:You are all daft with a poverty mindset. That is why you remain poor. Your mates realize they are sharing money for green energy and are rushing to COP to benefit and you are here with your poverty mindset complaining. Even Ajaero is there, all of them will collect money while you complain of the price of tomatoes. Better borrow yourselves some sense. I don’t know what Toke is doing there but if I were to guess, she has registered an NGO and is there using her fame to get funding that she will use to oppress you. Again I say you people have no brains. They are sharing $100b a year. Let me repeat that…they are sharing $100b a year!!!! You are complaining about $2m? If that does not tell show you have a poverty mindset nothing will. The reason why there are many delegates is because everybody is going for his own project. Whether ministry, NGO, private sector, academia, Labour etc. Sit there and be complaining o. Don’t form your own NGO and start to write your own feasibility plan and project for COP29. We spent $2m and secured $5b but the brain dead are complaining!
|
jaxxy:Yep small minded brain dead people making noise over 3b (approx $3m). When from just I small deal alone we got got $95m from COP27. Just 1 country, the UAE is handing out $4b to Africa at cop28. The green energy fund for COP28 is $100b. You people indeed have no sense!!!
|
A Great man! It takes balls to take on the military, talk less a man like Abacha. If you were around in 1994 you will understand, if not you can’t especially the way union leaders behave today. To understand what this man did, in my lifetime, only Covid lockdown had had more impact on the country…he shut the country down! Balls!!! Not all this ENDSARS nonsense that became a party and an avenue for looting and violence, he shut down the country without any violence. Nothing was closed but everything was closed. A true union leader not this nonsense from Ajaero. A hero a patriot, unfortunately Nigeria does not appreciate patriots. RIP! |
Lovelyn451:Ask the opposition. Elections are 4 yrs away Apc is planting seeds. Opposition will do nothing for 3 years and come 6 months to election and think they can win elections. Ask Obi and Atiku which states did they lose that they have been reaching out to since the elections? When they lose again in 2027, they will blame INEC and judiciary but they are not planting during planting season. |
Blackdisciple:The reason GSK and P&G are leaving the country try is because they cannot compete. There are Nigerian or Chinese companies manufacturing or supplying the same products at cheaper prices. Panadol is the bread and butter of GSK, every Dick and Harry manufactures paracetamol at a cheaper price point than GSK’s panadol. P&G sell pampas. There are multiple cheaper alternatives in the diaper sector. E.g dry love, Molfix, Huggies. I am sure if you did a market survey you will find P&G products were the most expensive. We have problems in Nigeria but Sometimes the reason a company leaves is simply because it has lost market share and cannot compete. Nothing more nothing less. |
frog12:The money is being stolen and the money is being wrongly spent are 2 different things. Nobody is saying the money is being stolen. I am a teetotaler, I give you money to buy me a drink. You come back with beer. You have wasted my money even though you didn’t steal it because beer is of no use to me. If what Ogedengbe is saying is true then the petrol from this refinery is useless. The only thing we will get is diesel and kerosene. |
frog12:Yeah if Ogedengbe’s observation turns out to be right (as the project manager for the construction of PH2 and a former MD of the refinery, he should know), then it is a waste. If the PMS produced is not fit for use, then what’s was the point? |

Ajaero was busy in Dubai collecting COP28 estacode. |
I saw the interview on channels. I must say after watching it, I came to the conclusion we have just wasted another $1.5b 2 things in particular he said. 1: We are only going to get 25% PMS yield per barrel whereas the current standard is closer to 50% 2: the grade of PMS from that old refinery is inferior and can only be improved with the addition of lead. Leaded petrol has been banned. We may just have spent $1.5b to fix a refinery to produce petrol we cannot use or that will damage modern engines. |
How come we have not heard any noise from NLC and Ajaero? ….because he was there to collect ESTAcODE!! wetin concern Labour with climate summit? Hypocrites!!!
|
Ojuntana:Simple google search “cop27 projects Nigeria” It took me less than 5 seconds. Just 1 project £95m https://www.thecable.ng/uk-fulfils-cop27-pledge-launches-95m-climate-fund-for-nigeria/amp You guys are brain dead
|
Ojuntana:Why don’t you try and find the info yourselves. You people are mentally lazy and intellectually deficient. That’s why you are so gullible and susceptible to propaganda and misinformation. You keep waiting for others to provide info that is freely available and verifiable. Why do you have google? |
obi58: |
koko3:The problem with Many of you is that you are small minded, think like simpletons and cannot see the big picture. The purpose of the conference is to source for funds for climate related and green energy projects.. When you hear for example that one village is being electrified with solar, or solar water pumps or solar boreholes, farming irrigation, flood abatement programs, this is often where the money comes from. If you are not there to present your green energy plans, you will not be a beneficiary. Most of the money is free money, not loans. UAE alone is handing out $4b to Africa at this conference. Is it a country that isn’t there they will give the money to? Is it a ministry that isn’t there they will give the money to? US is also allocating $3b to Africa, other countries are making pledges. If you are not there you cannot benefit. Yes there are people out there for a jamboree but there will be more funds coming to Nigeria than the total bill for the entire Nigerian delegation public and private. The least Nigeria can expect out of what UAE alone is allocating to Africa is $300m…likely a lot more. The total cost assuming all 1400 participants are government sponsored (not so) and all actually attended (again not so) @$15k a head is $20m You are the same people that if you hear another country received funding from COP will come here shouting why was Nigeria not there when they were sharing free money we could have used to recharge dry lakes, control flooding, provide irrigation for farmers, electrify villages, convert vehicles to CNG etc?

Some people with frequent trips to Thailand illegally “developing” on canal/ drainage with the proceeds will soon start claiming persecution of their tribe. |
