You are not making sense. I can see that you are home-based all through.

It is not about "forming", but pronouncing your words. You can't understand it because the person pronouncing wrongly doesn't even know. That lady might be born in the UK, or she went for accent reduction classes...and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

You are just hiding under the nonsense you put up here because of your inferiority complex. Many hurdles to cross... sounds and tone...where to stress...silent letters also.

Music and entertainment is different from speaking English. Do not mix it up.

Back to speaking clearly....there are sounds each tribe cannot pronounce well that we need to try to get rid of. You want to speak English...speak it. Hausa cannot pronounce F clearly...they substitute it with v. This is why Buhari says Viver when he wants to say Fever. Almost all Nigerians cannot pronounce "th"...thats why even ex-Pre Jonathan says "tank", instead of "thank". Most Yoruba people cannot pronounce "h" very well... it's why they say "ouse" instead of "house". You cannot speak like this and say you speak clearly.

Good luck!
carry on in your ignorance. however , I want to ask you how many chinese can speak English properly, it hasnt stopped them becoming the 2nd largest economy in the world. If you have something to offer, the world will adapt to you the problem is not whether you say "tank" or "thank", in oth cases I understand what you are saying, the problem is most of you have nothing to offer. We make fun of the chinese English but we eagerly embrace them and do business with them...why? because they have something to offfer, that we want or desire!!! Focus on having something to offer, the purpose of language is communication. So long as we can communicate we are good. If you speak queen's english but have nothing to offer you will be found out and you are of no use to anybody.

Not true!

It is a survival instinct, some people had to paid good money to learn that accent after been rejected in many interviews especially when you job or career is in a crowded field.

However for exceptional professionals in in-demand careers with fewer competition the employer or interviewer are usually forced to strain their ears to understand your foreign accent.

Also some people do it unintentionally, a Warri boy who speaks English very very fast with Warri accent, usually would adjust their accent and speed if e.g. they find themselves in Sokoto and have to live there, integrate with the Society there and make a living there.
In this Nigeria? The problem with an inferiority complex is most who have one dont even know they it. Your problem is you are not qualified for the job. if you are good you are good, focus on being the best in your field and the world will embrace you.

What you have described is like a beautiful woman who has slept around and complains she cant find a husband because she is beautiful. No the problem is you have slept around and no one wants to marry you so you conveniently blame your beauty and say it intimidates men. The reason you cant get a job in Nigeria has nothing to do with your accent!!

You are describing yourself
when you think foreign accent is a thing of pride or a subject to consume your discussions and aspirations, have already lost the race before it started. For example, many Nigerian artistes tried to imitate foreigners before the advent of Afrobeat, they all flopped!!! it is only when Nigerian artistes started to be themselves and sing in their unique African way that the world embraced them. You cannot be more oyinbo than the oyinbo man, you have nothing to offer if what you are selling is not authentic but a copy. So be yourself, be proud of yourself, your accent, your culture and your heritage, stop giving yourselves foreign names or speaking in fake foreign accents or projecting foreign as superior, you are subconsciously telling yourself that you and your own are inferior and not good enough. if you reject yourself, others will reject you.

there is no Nigerian artiste who has made in on the international stage with a foreign accent....remember that. Sunny Ade, Fela etc all sang in their Nigerian accents and projected their Nigerianness. And before you mention Sade Adu and the likes of SEAL, they were all raised abroad and are only Nigerian in name.

This one is still in campaign mode, interlacing every statement with “Possible”.

The problem with Obi and why he will never be president is that he is opportunistic by nature and lacks a strategic mindset. The more he carries on in this manner (including portraying himself as the main opposition despite coming third) the harder it will be for him to form an alliance with the real main opposition the PDP. Without an alliance, none of them can overcome Tinubu and APC.

Romance › Re: Can A Man And A Woman Be Friends by casualobserver:

I live in the moment pls...

You digress a bit. All friendships end eventually for one reason or the other. I have also had very good male friends in the past some we no longer relate with each other. Some we relate just in passing. That bond that make a good friendship no longer there. Not that they were issues but maybe the friendship had served its purpose and we out grew it and moved on. These were guys we were so close we did everything together apart from sleeping with each other's girlfriends.

You think married guys do not end relationships with their unmarried male buddies too? I can tell you a personal story for free of how a guy I was best man for at his wedding started acting up right after the reception of his wedding towards his unmarried buddies and how he will "welcome" them back to the "click" when the become later married.

What is real friendship? Bro I feel everyone- male and female go into friendships for a reason. You are friends with your friends for a reason Dude. Does that mean you are taking advantage of them? Could be companionship or whatever... In the end no intention is truly genuine 100 percent.

Don't make it sound like women are villains for these reasons. Life happens.

It's odd and off you would say "the only friends a guy can ever have are his female relatives"
People do have sincere friendships with the opposite sex. I used my case as an example.

For the records none of My female friends were unattractive or ugly. I remember one in particular being a hottie and well composed/calm person who all the guys wanted.

In the very end we all have our different interpretation of life!
If you have a female friend your wife is not aware of, there is something unwholesome about the relationship. If you are friends with a man’s wife and he is not aware of or fully aware of the nature of your friendship, there is something unwholesome about the relationship. Full stop!

You are not brought up well if you think as a married woman or man you can have platonic friendships with people of different sex that are not also friends to your partner or a relative.

Does your father have female friends that is not also a friend to the family? Does your mother have male friends that are not friends to the father or the family? Nonsense!

If you have a relationship/friendship so close to someone that you share intimate details and your partners are not aware of it, it is a signal, you should not be in that relationship/friendship.

There is nothing like different interpretations of life. There is right and there is wrong, there is moral and there is immoral. “Different interpretations of life” and all that crap is what people say to justify bad immoral and wrong behavior.

They're friends and he's a man who she thinks would probably understand the mind of another man and she trusts him not to mislead her. Must she take advice from her family members even when she feels that she doesn't want family members involved?
You clearly do not understand. They are not supposed to be friends in the first place. How can you as a wife have a male friend that is not also a friend to your husband? Plus the wife, plus the so called friend are daft.

The reason why a married woman is seeking advice from you a male whp is neither a friend of the husband or a relative is because she is daft or a poorly brought up woman without self respect to start with. If she had any self respect, you would not friends. So it is no surprise she has problems at home. Again if you were well brought up and had any self respect, you would distance yourself from married women. The only business a man has with a married woman is professional or as a friend of the family. Family means you are a friend to both the husband and the wife.

Once a woman marries, her marital problems are not your business and you as a man should not be in a position where she can come to you. You should be worried that a married woman is confiding in you. I don’t know what kind of upbringing and values we have in society that I even need to explain this to people.

Would you want your own wife sharing details of your relationship with strangers or running to another man every time you have problems? What is wrong with you people?

I have one and she recently got a man, but she won’t stop calling me. I’ve turned to relationship counselor.
With due respect she is not acting right and you are not acting properly. Think to yourself, would you like your wife running to a man with all your marital problems, would you not feel disrespected? So why do that to another man?

The only male a wife should take her marital problems to (if she must her problems outside) are a male relative or her husband’s closest friend. Note I use singular. A good wife has one, no more than 2 male relatives or her husbands’ confidants that she can trust with her marital problems, if they are such that need external intervention. Her marital problems are not your business and again I repeat you are disrespecting her husband. What goes around comes around.

If she had any sense as a woman she wouldn’t bring her marital problems to you, if you had any wisdom as a man, and we’re truly her friend, you would tell her she is disrespecting her marriage and her husband by bringing her marital affairs to you. That is the acid test of your so called friendship. The minute you do she will stop calling you, but it is the right thing to tell her. So you see now that you really are not friends. Because you should be able to tell the truth to a friend without the relationship ending.

As a man you have no business in another woman’s marital affairs, the only women that should ever come to you are the wives of your best friend/brother/s or your sister/relative.

Some of the best friendships I ever had...

Have actually been with women!
I am glad you said “had” because all friendships with women end. That is ultimately why you cannot invest in a friendship with a woman…it ends the minute she marries. If it doesn’t then she is not a good woman and you are not a good man. It is disrespectful of you as a man to carry on a friendship with another man’s wife, so the minute she marries your friendship ends. This is assuming you actually had a real friendship in the beginning because she was most likely using you and you most likely were harbouring plans to get between her legs. Ask yourself, how many of your so called female friends were unattractive?

Women have men “friends” for different reasons, the one who helps her with her car problems, the one who takes her to club, the one who helps her with this the one who helps her with that. When a good woman marries, all her male related problems become her husbands responsibility and if she is well brought up and has any respect for herself and her husband, you will find out she stops calling you.

The only female friends a man can ever have are his female relatives. Otherwise you don’t know the meaning of friendship.

All governments take loans. Attached is the financing plan for the UK HS2 (high speed rail). As you can see it is through borrowing.

See also section 8 where it talks about govt subsidies for railways.

Brendaniel:
who is going to pay back, is it not taxing the citizens more ?
In your private space, calculate how much you made last year, multiply that by .2 (20%). Ask your self if you paid 20% of your income in tax last year. If you didn’t then you have no mouth to talk about tax. Most Nigerians do not pay the right amount of taxes.

Finally the amount previously spent on fuel subsidy in just 1 year is more than the cost of ALL the rail lines in Nigeria. You said you wanted fuel subsidy so we had to borrow to build rail. The fuel you bought with subsidy has gone up in smoke, the rail is still there. You decide.

In most other non professional jobs (even in Nigeria) nobody really cares about your degree except to show you are educated and can think.

It is a lie. Tax is tiered you dont pay 40% on everything, you pay only 40% on the additional income above the upper threshold .

Sometimes I wonder if my people are really as wise and smart as we claim to be. How can you continuously crumble the economy of your home to protest for the release of your son MNK. We've done this for the longest of time and it's not yielding any result because other regions of the country are not feeling it and do not care! Many of our brothers and sisters cannot relate with this useless protest because they prefer Nigeria and not Biafra.

In my opinion:: the best way to go about this is to hold our leaders accountable using force if necessary in our respective states. Chanel all our resources to the East, develope it more and create for ourselves those amenities that the government at the center has failed to deliver on. Rid ourselves of the bad eggs and improve the security of our region.

Simon Ekpa and his boys must be eradicated for peace to reign in Igbo land and with this mindset, other regions will take us seriously and also see the positive nature of our struggle.

Let's stop this NZOGBU NZOGBU attitude that we have, it's not helping us at home and beyond.

I come in peace ✌️
I also wonder how SE leaders can plead for NNamdi Kanu’s release, a man whose mission is the secession, while at the same time complain that it is the turn of the SE to be president or expect others to vote for a Se president. I saw a video over the weekend where a prominent Ibo leader actually said Kanu is the greatest leader to come out of the SE since Zik and Ojukwu and the people of the Se hold him in reverence. Your leader wants to leave Nigeria and you are behind him but you want us to vote for you to rule Nigeria? Somebody please explain to me how this makes sense to the Ibo man.

Let’s not even start on the utterances of Iwuanyawu. I don’t want to start on a Monday with tribal issues but trust me you make no sense to the rest of Nigerians and most of us don’t care anymore because we are exhausted trying to figure out the logic or thought process behind your utterances and actions. To us your actions and utterances are counter productive to your objectives. We don’t even know what those objectives are because they keep changing. Today you want Biafra, tommorow you want presidency. Yesterday you are in APGA, today you are in PDP, tommorow you are in LP. Look at the south east you don’t even have a single party you can say represents your cause. PDP, LP, APC and APGA all have governors.

Trying to engage the SE on issues like Ibo presidency, Biafra, Lagos, sit at home, Kanu etc is futile because it is never a discussion that has any logical constructs and eventually we just say ok, “we hear you” because it is exhausting and always descends into the emotional and not the rational.

You want Ibo presidency but you insult the same voters that can make it happen

You want Ibo presidency but you want biafra
You want development but you leave your zone every day

You want development but you invest outside your zones

You want Kanu to be freed but you attack your own zone with sit at home and UGM.

You say your zone is underdeveloped but you never question your governors.

You claim you want to live peacefully in Lagos and other zones but you attack and insult your hosts.

You build illegally but you want to be compensated for building illegally

Just make it make sense! I don’t mean to insult a tribe but it has gotten to a point where no one even bothers when the Ibo man is complaining and this isn’t as for you because when you have legitimate issues, like the boy who cried wolf people may say it’s just the Ibos maki g noise again. This because your utterances and actions make no sense that nobody even cares to listen to what you are saying anymore.

Many of us have that family member we love but don’t take seriously anymore but we have to indulge because they are family. The one who when you ask what are you doing, will tell you I am going back to school to do a masters or PhD, yesterday he started nightclub business, before that it was restaurant, before that it was a contractor, before then he wanted to be a musician. Every time it is something new, every time he makes no head no tail. The one who always brings in irrelevant issues at family meetings and drags on and on but you have to call to the meeting because he/she is family and if you don’t he will start moaning. It gets to a point that you were at the meeting simply by default and nobody was really listening to you or cares for what you have to say. This unfortunately is what the Ibo man has turned himself into. A caricature the family has to indulge. I say this not to abuse or insult but as a call for introspection. Your may see the logic in your actions and utterances but to the rest of us we don’t understand what exactly you want, you don’t make sense, your actions are counter productive to your stated aims and we are tired and have just left you to your devices. It may make sense to you but your utterances and actions do not make sense to us. You need us otherwise you would do what you need to do without us. So if you are not able to make it make sense to us your efforts are futile. You have a business plan but you need a loan. What you think of your business plan is your business. You will not get the loan until you are able to get the bank to see the viability of your business.

Nigerians are tired of these antics, even recently the Nothern elders forum said let the Ibos go if they want to go. A few weeks later (last week) another prominent Northern figure Prof Jega called for Tinubu to restructure the country before 2027…that tells you even the North are tired! But Interestingly the Ibos have been quiet on that significant pronouncement. When the Ibo man is ready to be serious and articulate what his real issues are and act in a manner that is consistent with his stated objectives, let us know. In the mean time, the rest of us are learning not to take you seriously but to ignore you.

Your master strategists is on the helm of affairs and I'm sure everything has been so good with you, since he's your lord and savior then it will be alright to accept everything he does...the difference between us.

Even if my brother is misbehaving then trust me to castigate him, I can never be like YOU, your likes are always afraid to say the truth, NAH MY BROTHER syndrome wont ever allow you speak the truth.
APC has been piloting the country over 8years now and I'm sure it has been all Eldorado for us all so that shows the integrity of Tilumbu who has been part of the abysmal party.
I supported Obi not because I see him as a saint but because I see his little integrity outweigh that of Tilumbu but you all believe everyone supporting Obi was all about IGBO. I have always been on this forum drumming support for Osinbajo even before apc primaries and that is because I still believe in Osinbajo than your Tilumbu.

Election is over bro and the selection has been done so to those that was selected let them face their job in making Nigeria great. Forget about who voted for who and tell your master strategists to strategize on making things work cos thst is why they are there.
I AM A NIGERIAN AND I WILL CLAP FOR WHOEVER PERFORMS but I wont ever kowtow into the ideas of just winning elections alone, I need PERFORMANCES please.
If you voted for Buhari not just 1st term bu second term, then it is no surprise you are backing Obi. Buhari has antecedents, I was around when he was head of state we were on the streets rejoicing when he was toppled. He was an economic disaster then. Check my posts o have said it time and time again that 1) I have never voted for Buhari 2) despite the fact that I didn’t vote for him he performed well in certain respects however 3) economy has never been his forte and just as I predicted in 2015 he was an unmitigated disaster economically 4) I have also said many times that the image of a tough corruption fighter that people were hanging on to was a Buhari as a military man and that he cannot fight corruption as a civilian especially when he rose to power on The backs of Tinubu, Saraki Amaechi and co.

It is the lack of brain function that caused you to support Buhari without examining his antecedents that is now prompting you to suppprt Obi because you don’t like what is on ground.

Again I say if your supported Buhari twice as you claim and he brought so much economic hardship to the country try, shouldn’t you examine your criteria for choosing presidents after all you have failed twice.

Check my posts I have said it many times I never voted for Buhari. I have also said I can never vote and have never voted for PDP. I also said that I was not so much in a upport of Tinubu as I was a believer that he is the best of a bad bunch. Least bad of a bad bu ch was a term I used before elections…check my posts. I have since changed my opinion and am very happy I voted Tinubu. But at the time the main reason I voted for Tinubu was because I knew an Obi presidency would be a disaster and PDP after 8 yrs out of office would be a cesspit of corruption. The point is if we examine our past voting patterns, it is clear I get it right more than you. Why? Because I engage my brains.

Look I said I do not engage Obidients for a reason, you have used up too much of my time.you guys don’t think! There is no intellectual argument back by critical thinking that will lead a thinking man to support Obi. Except it is the time of the SE. the man does not have a record to run on. The Ibos who are supporting him know he was a disaster but they want an Ibo president, so they I understand.

If you are Ibo I know your game, if you are not you have no brains. It is as simple as that!!
