MadarasBlade:Im sorry I cant help your retarded brain if you cannot work out that the government is still better off by N225/liter. For one thing they have more money than before subsidy removal 2) they dont have to borrow and 3) there is less demand so less overall subsidy and less cross border subsidy |
Atiku had hugged the lime light for weeks, the purpose of the press conference was to remind his followers that he still exists as his followers became emergency or returnee Atikulooters. When you do things for the wrong reasons you usually end up making a fool of yourself. |
Akwamkpuruamu:Subsidy was removed at the time the landing cost was such that the pump price was circa N600. International oil prices have since gone up such that the pump price now should be N800. Somehow or the other the government have found a way to subsidize the difference between N600 and N800 because if they allowed the price to reflect the true market price of N800, you are the same people that are programmed to complain. bear in mind subsidy is now illegal. there is no law backing subsidies on petrol, it expired in June. Pump price before subsidy removal was N175, government was paying subsidy of N425 (600-175) on every litre of petrol. let us assume they are now subsidizing N200 (800-600) through the back door, the country is still better off N425 (previous subsidy) v N625 (subsidy today if subsidy was never removed v current subsidy (N200) which still leaves N425 available for roads, hospitals education etc that would have been burnt in the exhaust pipes of klandcruisers and lexus jeeps. its not like subsidy is back and yet they are charging users N600....no!!!! the subsidy from N175-600 that was removed remains removed but due to the rise in oil prices and the reality on the ground, the rise from N600 to N800 is being met by the government one way or another. |
treesun:remove subsidy you complain, subsidize petrol you complain. wetin concern you with who dey pay? sounds like you are just programmed to complain. |
OGHENAOGIE:Whatever It’s like you telling me Tinubu can get votes in the SE. The same sentiments that exists against Yorubas in the east, exist against ibos in the North and they are extending it to the SW as well. Peter Obi is not the Ibo man that can get votes in the North structure or no structure, PDP or no PDP. PDP won’t give it to him because they know. |
OGHENAOGIE:I am not disagreeing with you My point is that structure or no structure he cannot win because he is not embraced in the core North and you cannot win without getting votes in the North. One of the reason why he does not have structure in the North is hat he is not welcome there. Northerners were warned not to accept to be his running mate and have you not noticed Datti has gone quiet? |
OGHENAOGIE:Structure matters but It’s less about structure than it once was. The one thing the last election has taught us is structure can be overcome. Obi got 6m votes without “structure”. Look at Obi’s votes in the core North, many states he didn’t even register statistically. ( if you round up 0.4% ,0.2% to the nearest whole number statistically you get 0%) That tells you the level of his appeal in the core North. These are states with huge numbers. You can’t afford to give your opponent huge numbers and expect to be president. Nobody expects him to win the north but if you cannot get 20%, you are not in the race. Tinubu did not win by getting 90%, he won by coming second in most states. Of the 7 NW states, Obi got less than 1% in 5, 2% in Kano and 20% in Kaduna. That is not how you win a presidential election. |
OGHENAOGIE:APC will win again in 2027 because PDP will still be split. Obi has boxed himself into a corner and cant go back to PDP and Atiku cant step down for Obi and there is no one else in PDP with the stature to take on Tinubu. Tinubu will do a deal with Kwakwanso. Obi may lose some of his suporters to PDP but it wont make a difference. The North will never vote for Obi and Obi cannot return to PDP as VP so 2027 is settled!!! |
Atiku became a serial loser because he never learnt his lesson from his serial defeats. Obi is on the same path. If he thinks the way to the presidency in 2007 is by character assassinating Tinubu and heating up the polity he is mistaking. He should know that there is nothing you say about him (Obi) that will dissuade his supporters. People dont care what you say about Atiku, Obi or Tinubu, voters have made up their minds and its not usually a case of them particularly liking the man they voted for but them not liking the other choices. in fact very often it is a matter of having utter disdain for the other choices. This is not how you gain votes from people whose votes you need and have utter disdain for you...it only entrenches their position. It means he has not learnt the lessons from his defeat and he will lose again. Obi lost because he played the politics of divide and conquer, he lost because he whipped up the sentiments of his base. his proble is this style of politics alienates the people whose votes he needs and only plays into the sentiments of his base which clearly is not numerically strong enough to make him president. Obi needs muslim votes from the North to make him president...plain and simple. He is already battling historical issues with the North, in addition he played the religious card. Obi feels a need to be relevant and remain in the headlines but there is an adage that if you have nothing productive to say keep quiet for it is better to be thought of as a fool that for it to be confirmed as a fool. How does all this help his presidential bid in 2027? the answer.........it does not!!! |
Goke7:He is preparing for 2027. all this noise making including going to court is an attempt to remain relevant and stay in the news for 2027......but he will still lule!!! Like his master Atiku, he will contest tire, no evidence!!! |
Obi should call a press conference to address his kins men that are giving Nigeria bad name from Singapore to South Africa, from Ghana to Liberia, from Indonesia to India, from Brazil to Afghanistan, from Thailand to Malaysia, from kenya to Uganda. They have done more damage to Nigeria internationally, most foreigners dont even know who Tinubu is but they know "Nigerians" are always carrying drugs and disturbing their host communities abroad. whenever there is conflict with locals abroad it is always his kinsmen not Tinubu, whenever a drug smuggler is caught abroad it is always his kinsmen. |

ChidiKalu:I have told you that I am not interested in debating the fortunes of others to the point of turning it into a seminar but since you keep mentioning my name in every post trying frantically to draw my attention by appearing in my mentions. Let me respond to your wild claims once and for all. 1) the largest functioning oil palm plantations in Nigeria are Presco Plc and Okomu Oil. Okomu Oil has a market valuation of N250B ($250M) as at today and Presco N201B ($201m) 2) to get to this size Okomu has 19,000 ha of Oil palm and 7,000 ha of rubber. 3). To get to this size Presco has well over 30,000 hectares of oil palm 4. Aden River estates (ibru) is only hoping to get to 5,000 ha by 2024 "However, we plan to start refining crude palm oil once we finish our initial expansion, which will see us getting to 5,000 hectares by 2024 and 7,000 hectares by 2026" ...direct quote from Emmanual Ibru. and this is the person you are touting as Oil palm cartel boss because he is chairman of Association? Let me tell you something for free, Oil palm plantation is not profitable below 10,000 ha. Adebutu (see below) has been into Oil palm for over 2 decades and many times bigger than Ibru, he said in an interview (which you can watch on youtube) that it is only recently that they have started to reap the benefits. 5.) JB farms (owned by Adebutu) has over 18,000 ha of Oil palm, you are not mentioning JB farms, it is Ibru you are mentioning because he has the name "Ibru" and chairman of POFON? Fayemi was chairman of governors forum, it doesnt mean his state is the most powerful state..indeed Ekiti is one of Nigeria's poorest states. 6.) Ibru's interests in Aden River estate is worth somewhere between $20-30m, assuming it was developed without debt. How do I arrive at this? comparison of the valuations of the above companies and their acreage as well as a direct quote from Emmanual Ibru himself where he says "To develop one hectare of oil palm, you need between $4,000 and $5000." Like I said that is assuming the investment is fully funded by Ibru himself (which is very unlikely) which means he is probably indebt and running at a loss because he hasnt even started refining and if he is just cultivating his estate, the palm plants are probably not producing economically yet (if at all) which means he is almost certainly currently running at a loss. https://www.presco-plc.com/plantation/ https://okomunigeria.com/ https://tribuneonlineng.com/what-we-are-doing-to-salvage-nigerias-oil-palm-industry-ibru-pofon-chairman/ https://tribuneonlineng.com/palm-oil-production-receives-boost-as-jb-farms-expands-operations-to-ondo-with-10000-ha-oil-palm-plantation/ I am not someone who talks without facts, I dont make wild claims based on rumours. If i say something I back it up, not they are rich they are rich like you. That which I do not know I will say i do not know, that which I know I will say I know, that which I am not sure I will say I am not sure. The Ibrus are wealthy but you are hyping them beyond their current status. A lot of their businesses are dead or on life support and thay are only just trying to revive those that can be revived. Between the last time i posted and today they have lost 20-30% of their value. This has been the problem with the Ibrus and a lot of Nigerian family businesses since the mid-80s....their businesses and income are based in Naira. Even when your businesses do not die and you can increase prices, your demand falls because there is only so much purchasing power available to the average Nigerian in the midst of ever devaluing currency. That is the story of the Ibrus in a nutshell, theyve done well to remain standing (not all are standing BTW) but they are not the Ibrus of old, certainly not as at today. There are a few paths to legitimate $ billionaire status in a country like Nigeria. You are involved in something that every Nigerian will use regularly in the course of his day to day life and you are the top 1-3 in your industry. Be it telecoms, oil, foods, banking etc. Diversified as the Ibrus may be, tell me the last time you used any product that was produced by the Ibrus? ...and there is your answer! One in 3 Nigerians will on a regular basis consume something produced or a service by Dangote, BUA, Glo, Airtell, Adenuga, Otedola, Elumelu,MRS etc. yet some of them are not even Billionaires...when was the last time you consumed a product by the Ibrus? Dangote became a billionaire because he controlled the sugar market for the whole country, at one time Otedola deisel, what do the Ibrus control? Please dont disrespect $1B. As at today, UBA, Access bank and zenith are worth $500m, $500m, and $1b respectively. It shows you 1) that $1b is not beans and 2) the effect of Naira devaluation of wealth. All these banks were at some point billion dollar companies. All the noise they are making about Otedola and 1st bank, largest shareholder blah blah. FBn is only worth $570m. And all this noise about somebody being the largest shareholder with 7% amounts to only $40m. All this noise about Elumelu, he is not a billionaire, UBA and Transcorp together are worth $750m, how much does he own in UBA, how much does he own in Transcorp? Elumelu has 2.4b shares in UBA directly and indirectly, together they are worth N40b or approx $40m. He has recently increased his stake in transcorp to 36%…..36% of 275b is N99B or $99m, together with UBA a total of $135m but people like you will tell us Elumelu is a billionaire.....again $1b is not beans! And again if you wealth is based in Naira, you earn in Naira, devaluation will eventually damage your wealth. Even Dangote went from $23b to less than $10b at some point. As for the ignoramus who said one of the Ibrus is balling, there is no difference between the life style of a multimillionaire and a Billionaire. They are both entering 1st class or private jets, they are both living large in monaco. There is a level of wealth you get to where it does not matter how much you have you are equal. it does not mean you are a billionaire. This is the last post I will make on this subject. I have better things to do with my time. Any attempts by you and other ignoramuses and praise singers to drag me in by shamelessly and frantically mentioning my name in every conversation with others will be ignored.

emorse:What exactly is your point? Again I say you are daft, we are still better overall despite the fact that the government is effectively still subsidizing petrol to some extent. Can you imagine how much we would have had to borrow to maintain the old petrol price at the current international price of oil per barreal? Why are you people so daft? Perhaps because there was no school feeding programme when your brains was being developed. |
emorse:You may be mature but you are still daft. You can be mature and unintelligent. The money for subsidy over the last few years, where did it come from? We were borrowing…to the extent that 97% of our revenues was being used to service debt payments! So when you ask a daft question like “but we have money for cash transfer and school feeding”, it shows you are not only daft but you have your priorities wrong. Which is more important, subsidizing the guy in Ikoyi who has 10 gas guzzling jeeps or subsidizing the poor and most vulnerable especially young school children many of whom are lacking in proper nutrients at the very stage when their brains are forming to ensure they are properly fed and can learn and become productive members of the society? 1) money for subsidy was borrowed. We no longer borrow money to fund subsidy which means more of the revenue we get is available to the government. That money is now deployed to school feeding and cash transfer to mitigate the effects of subsidy removal and to more efficiently channel government spending. Perhaps if the government have spent money to endure you were properly fed as a school youth, you would have gotten the proper developmental nutrients at the critical development stage of your life, your brain would be better developed now that you are an adult and you would not be spewing trash exhibiting your daftness and low IQ. I respect dissenting or different opinions so long as they are logical. I have no time and quite frankly get irritated by imbecility!! |
They will both lose again in 2027 because they have boxed themselves into a corner. Atiku (if he runs again) knows it is his last chance and so cannot be vice to Obi. Meanwhile Obi cannot agree to be vice to Atiku because it will damage his credibility… not that he has any to begin with, so let me say the image he is trying to portray. He would have let down the Woke youth, the Ibos and those who feel it is the turn of the south. So they will both run and again they will split their votes. |
Stoplying:Thankfully the value of the opinions of minions like you is zero!
|
Some people do t se em to understand there was no money to fund the subsidy. |
Stoplying:I am not claiming anything, the university said under oath he was their student and he graduated with honours. |
We can see why these 2 fools between them got 14m votes but lost to the man that got 8.7m |
Stoplying:Why would he produce a fake diploma when he graduated from the school and the process for getting a replacement is so simple and his certificates had already been subject of interest while he was governor? What is so difficult to understand about that? |
MzansiCoolio:We are not interested in gay sh1t |
Biodun556:Tinubu wanted his diploma "certified" by the University, clearly he had anticipated issues like that which is playing out now. It was indeed certified by the University. The person who certified the certificate is no longer at the university. "Certification" is not normal practice in the US which is why the current registrar said the famous "it must be a Nigerian thing" |
cyberdurable:better ask your fathers and Uncles that have been abusing since 1960 how market? |
blamingthedevil:Obasanjo already gave reference. Atiku has a penchant for lies. |
cyberdurable:You will spend the next 8 years abusing just like you spent the last 8 years abusing. After that you will still spend 2031-2037 abusing when power goes to the North. Better stock up on high blood pressure medicine because after 24 yrs at abusing you will be old and abusing as an old man is not the same as abusing as a youth…so you don’t open your mouth to abuse and die of stroke!!! |
Funmilayo8:This is someone they were accusing of not doing NYSC. They are now praising him. |
Sibbb:Who the fu$k is London bridge business school? |
Urheadmaster:If Atiku was truly inspired by Gani he wouldn’t have waited till after he lost the election to verify Tinubu’s certificates. Gani has been dead for a decade. It took him only 1 month ( after he lost at the PEPT) to get the CSU to say what they know. Atiku is a desperate man, a sinking man and just like his sidekick, Obi, he will never be president of Nigeria. |
Racoon:2 things has become very clear, we have a lot of very daft and dumb people in this country and education in Nigeria does not equate to intelligence. 1) I graduated in 1979, I lost my certificate, I applied for a replacement decades later. I obtained a replacement. In the period between when I graduated and when I got a replacement, the logo, format and signatories of the university had changed multiple times. Which signature, logo and signature will appear on my replacement certificate. What some so called educat Nigerians are saying is a) the person who signed my certificate in 1979 must sign my replacement in 20 years later even if the person has left the university or has died. b) the logo, font, on my replacement issued 20 or more years later must be the same as the one on the original t certificate of 1979. C) the fact that my replacement certificate says I graduated 1979 means it was issued in 1979 despite the fact that I have said the original was lost and this is a replacement. if I obtained a replacement in 2020 for example, which signature will appear on my replacement, the signature of the person holding the office in 2020 or the person who signed the original in 1979? I swear we are breeding a nation of very daft people. |
