Okoroawusa:This is the most ridiculous statement. Women have asked for equal opportunity and they have equal opportunity. The fact that she is a rep member is a testament to the fact that women in Nigeria have equal opportunity. The fact that she can contest for speakership means there is a level playing field. It is up to her and women to earn their place just like she earned her position as a house of rep member. Equal opportunity does not mean preferential treatment. If you claim you are equal then earn your place as an equal. If you have to earn your position by preferential treatment then you are effectively saying you are not equal to men and are therefore doing a disservice to women. Earn your spot on merit not because you are a woman. Women have equal opportunity in Nigeria, there are countries where women cannot drive or go to school…..stop playing the gender card! |

Many people (as usual) do not understand what Sheri Sani is saying. The obidients are the opposition that PDP never was for 8 years that will keep APC on their toes but you wouldn’t want them in power because they are unruly! |
Look at the hungry looking people that want to take over the country, the looting will not have part 2, even PDP go bow! |
Karnice600:Someone who emerged from a faulty process is claiming faulty process? What faulty process? I will keep saying it majority of Nigerians do not understand English, IREV has nothing to do with collation under the law. Furthermore, the slowpoke challenging process, was he a member of LP 30 days before Lp primaries? I swear your parents should have saved us a lot of trouble and used birth control. |
In Obasanjo’s time they would have bulldozed themselves to whatever outcome he wanted but the same OBj and his latter day followers are today talking about democracy and rule of law and attacking the judiciary. Be grateful for Buhari. for without him, Obi would not be in a position to contest in an election where he can score 500k votes, talk less 6m. |
Good start. |
These people should shut up abeg. I’ve had U.K. immigration knock on my door before because someone was caught using my details. It happens, it’s no big deal. It’s not because he is Obi. Everything is imaginary enemies. People that have won an election and are preparing for swearing in and the arduous task of governance, don’t have time to worry about a man who came 3rd!!! The person who came second is not making the kind of noise these people are making….or we forgot someone came second? |
IfnobeGod20:See this illiterate trying to educate me! Driving licence and “driver’s licence” are both correct. In the USA, it is driver’s licence but in the U.K., it is “driving licence”. Technically speaking and because we are a former British colony, our educational system, spelling etc follows the British system, the correct terminology in Nigeria is “driving licence”….though it does not really matter in informal communication but in my day you could fail an exam or get marked down for using drivier’s license instead of driving licence because such a term does not technically exist in official Nigerian English.. The purpose of language is communication and so long as both parties comprehend what is being said then outside an academic exercise, especially in informal conversations you can use either, just as you can say hood or bonnet, trunk or boot…so long as the other party knows what you are referring to. See below from the official U.K. driving licence agency. I warned you not to engage me until you up your game, my education and your education are not mates. And by the way since you want to correct me, it is licence (with a “c”) in the U.K. and license in the US. You are trying to correct me but even your spelling is wrong. Again I repeat the purpose of language is communication, spelling and grammatical errors are understandable even among the educated particularly in informal communication but the lack of comprehension is unforgivable. For effective informal communication, It does not matter whether you say driver’s license or driving licence, People know what you mean and that is the purpose of language and communication. Whether your grammar is correct or your punctuation is correct, so long as you use of poor grammar or punctuation does not alter the meaning of what you say or type, it is unimportant in an informal setting. What you cannot do is intend to say right and say left or say right and the other party interpretes it as left. Literacy is understanding that an expired document is not a forged document. You are a certified illiterate because 4 or 5 posts in a row you have shown you lack comprehension…..you don’t understand what is being said. One of the biggest problems in Nigeria is the poor standard of English comprehension. We would be better off receiving our formal educated in our native languages with English as a second language. Many educated Nigerians lack basic English comprehension. The Chinese don’t speak English properly but see what they are doing because they communicate primarily in their language, so at the very least they understand themselves which is why we have issues like 25% of Abuja and issues with comprehending minimum qualification.
|
And so it should be, you reap where you sow. |
Paramount01:do you think that is possible for Obidients? You campaigned in churches, you ignored Muslims, you didn’t have a strong presence among Muslims and northerners, you didn’t win votes in north, you want to be president. You divide the opposition and you expect to win? You came 3rd and you say declare me president…..are these the actions of wise people? |
FreeStuffsNG:They think this is Onitsha or Aba market, importing and exporting, buying and selling, nzogbu, nzogbu!!! |
IfnobeGod20:Jandoor is an illiterate for all intents and purposes and so are you if you fail to show you posses basic English comprehension. Again I say literacy is not just the ability to read it is also the ability to comprehend. If you cannot comprehend you are effectively an illiterate because there is not point in being literate if you don’t comprehend what is written. Many Nigerians are educated illiterates, if you like continue to prove you are one of them. Just like the educated illiterates taking a matter to court when the law which they can read clearly says any conviction over 10 yrs is not actionable in court or arguing that a president needs 25% of Abuja…these are examples of educated illiterates…people who can read but cannot comprehend the meaning of what they are reading. You last paragraph shows you are truly an educated illiterate and proves my point. Go and look in the dictionary for the meanings of “genuine” and “original” and “expire” genuine means it is legitimate and not a forgery, original means it is not a copy or a reissue, expire means it is no longer valid.. A genuine and original document can expire…..A driving license can expire, it does not mean the driving license or a copy of the license is a forgery. Again, every time you respond you just prove you are an educated illiterate, you lack comprehension. Comprehension means understanding, if you read but don’t understand you are worse than the man who cannot read. It is not an abuse, it is a fact. My advise to you is to consult a dictionary if you intend to respond because if you continue to post like an illiterate I won’t respond to you. PS: it is I have no business “with” not I have no business ”on”. This is how you fail exams, job interviews etc and you start to blame everybody but yourselves. You should be thanking me for educating you for free. English is your official language of communication and if you don’t understand what you are saying or what others are saying, you are not communicating. Imagine someone telling you left but in your mind he said right…is that communication, is that not illiteracy? For effective communication both parties must understand what right or left means, not just the ability to write “left” or “right”!!!! Also check the dictionary, to read and write is only one definition of literac. Having “competence or knowledge” in a subject is also a definition of literacy. Hence you can be computer literate or lack computer literacy. So being able to read and write without having understanding or comprehension in English is illiteracy. Feel free to confirm with a dictionary. If I were you, as well as the many others on this platform who are victims of a poor educational system, I will seek to improve my understand and English comprehension instead of arguing with someone who was educated by the best at a time when a Nigerian ceritificzte granted acces to schools worldwide without additional tests or requirements particularly proficiency in English. |
IfnobeGod20:It’s a fool hardy pursuit and there are many educated Nigerians who to all intents and purpose are no better than illiterates. Many Nigerians are deficient in English comprehension. Literacy refers to one’s ability to read but implied in that is the ability to comprehend what you read. If you read but do not comprehend you are not much better in fact in some cases worse if that an illiterate. Why do I say so? …..because if you know you are dealing with an illiterate you will not bother to engage him in English and instead communicate with him in the native language. I am also afraid to say that clearly you are one of the many Nigerians deficient in English comprehension because you clearly did not understand what I said. I did not say SanwoOlu is guilty of any forging or fraud. What I said is he should not have submitted his statement of results when he has a degree. 2 different things. I will keep repeating that many educated Nigerians do not comprehend English that is why foreign countries mandate our students to take English proficiency tests. There is a difference between tendering an expired (genuine and official) statement of results if that is what you are claiming and forging a certificate like the guy in Bayelsa. The court can never convict or disqualify SanwoOlu if the statement of results tendered is what was issued to him by his secondary school…expired or not. It is an official document. This is the same way they made so much fuss about Bihari’s WAEC but Nigerians never learn. |
Urheadmaster:Nobody cares what you believe. You are just 1 of over 2 billion nonentities that can post on the internet. |
IfnobeGod20:My friend the last time I used my statement of results was decades ago to get into university. There is nothing in life that will will require me to dig out my waec results or statement of results…… and that is my point!! Why do these politicians keep courting controversy when the law does not require you submit your waec results…..you don’t even need to submit your 1st degree if you have an advanced degree like a pg diploma, a masters degree or a phd. All you need is one certificate that satisfies the law. In fact if you have qualifying work experience, the law does not require you to have or submit ANY certificate. |
This jandor is truly an illiterate. Even my school statement of results is not the same as my waec results because as at the time of issue 1 of my subjects had not been released. That said I blame Sanwoolu and all others who keep submitting waec results when they have higher qualifications…. Just submit your degree! The law says “minimum qualification” not “all qualifications” |
UgosinaChi:There is no need to dignify it because even if he was convicted ( he was not) the case occurred over 10 years ago. There is no need to dignify it with a response because the judges will throw it out without APC having to respond. The judges will ask which part of the law was broken and Obi’s camp won’t be able to answer. For the Tinubu camp to respond, the judge must be satisfied that there is a law that was broken. It is only when you have established that there is a law broken that the judge will entertain your argument and will invite the other side to defend themselves. How can you ask someone to defend himself when no law was broken? I am sure you have all heard of “entertaining an argument” or dismissal in court before a case even starts. Anybody can go to court, I can go to court because I suspect my neighbor is neglecting his wife but the court will only “entertain” my case if 1) I prove I have locus standi ( what is my business, how am I affected am I part of the marriage?). And 2) what law was broken?….. is neglecting a spouse a crime in law? The law says any conviction that disqualifies a candidate must be within the last 10 years! The court is not a theater for emotion, frivolity and wasting judges time to play to the gallery and score cheap points. No self respecting judge will entertain it. There is nothing to answer just emotional noise. The 15 SANS that Obinhas gathered know the matter will be dismissed, the whole point of bring it up is for headlines and public consumption, they know the judges will throw it out. Therefore Tinubu’s camp will be playing into their hands by responding. |
Obi’s case is dead on arrival. His strongest argument (in fact his only reasonable argument) was that shettima was still a senatorial candidate. When he became VP candidate but he himself was not eligible to contest under Labour because he was a member of PDP 30 days to the primary. Therefore he has no locus standi to even petition Tinubu. The case is dead. |

Face the killings by your people on your people in the SE. |
The British are the masters of double speak, corruption and loopholes. They also know most Nigerians do not understand English even though they supposedly speak it, which is why many countries require our students to pass English proficiency tests and also as exemplified in many prominent cases that have hit the headlines that are rooted in a failure of English comprehension. Examples being 1) a failure to understand the meaning “minimum qualifications” resulting in many politicians having their elections overturned for forging documents they never needed in the 1st place because they had legitimate higher qualifications or a whole former Vice President seeking to disqualify a candidate based on a school certificate he does not need , 2) failure to understand the meaning of “convicted” and “under sentence” hence a presidential candidate is seeking to disqualify his opponent based on arguments that are non-starters or 3) indeed the interpretation of “and” in the constitution as regards Abuja. Anyway I digress, When the English speak, you have to pay attention to what they say and the words they use. “Will not actively seek” is not the same as “will no longer seek”. or “will no longer employ”. All it means is they will no longer come looking for Nigerian doctors. There is nothing in that statement that says they are not seeking or will no longer employ Nigerian doctors. The key word being “ actively” and it does not imply they will not “passively” seek. Long and short it does not mean they will no longer seek Nigerian doctors. You have to understand the English man and the English language. In my native language Yoruba the words liar and thief have no ambiguity, it is “iro” and “ole”. A dishonest man is a liar and a thief is a thief but in English, you have words like embezzlement, corruption, looting, swindling etc that disguise what is ultimately a liar and a thief. Be wary of the English language, what you think you are hearing is not often what is being said especially from those whose language it is and truly understand the language and addressing those who have a simplistic rudimentary, incomplete or naive comprehension of the language. |
buzmanjohn:That is the one they caught him with. A thief is rarely caught the 1st time but usually as a result of sloppiness as a result of being comfortable with stealing. |
There is a saying in Yoruba land….”if you do not want to know your mother’s ex boyfriends, don’t dabble into politics”. The minute you dabble into politics your family history will come out. Somebody brought up on the proceeds of looting will discover your father could never have legitimately afforded to send you to school abroad. Those army children who had sense and know their government worker parents could not have legitimately afforded to send them to school abroad respected themselves. |
When Obasanjo nominates your VP for you, especially knowing that nobody from the north of stature wanted to be your VP, know that he is setting you up. In fact once Obasanjo is involved in your life know that trouble lies ahead. Even if Obi had won, this Datti would have caused Obi untold problems. The man is a loose cannon and seemed to think he was the one running for presidency. |
I thought they said there are no ibo beggars? That said, this idea of “deportation” is ridiculous!!! |
Goke7:That and the realization that theyve missed their shot for another 16 years at least. |
new2012:I am not a muslim, neither do I love Trump (nor do i love Biden BTW). All you have just written just proves my case....you people talk trash because you come from a place of fundamental bigotry and tribalism so anyone who disagrees with you must be what you are not. You are not capable of objectivity because everything to you is rooted in tribe or religion. on the one hand you say Chiamanda is sensible and logical, then you go on to say she is biased. You are not intelligent enough or too emotionallly damaged to engage the intelligent logically objectively, so I suggest you just see my posts and move swiftly along. |
MeineMutter:another one who I once respected but who sounds less and less intelligent because you can see all her pronouncements come from a place of bigotry and tribal sentiments. |
Kai!!!!! He finished this charlatan of an IPOB masquerading as a literary pillar. She is the type of educated Nigerian I despise...educated and supposedly exposed but still fundamentally tribal, Educated and supposedly well lettered but using her talents for her tribal pararochial or woke views. Chiamanda is the type of educated easterner that no matter the education and exposure will never get over the civil war...the irony is she wasn't around and all her views are based on lies and propaganda. She is pretender, I figured her out years ago when she wrote her book and I knew the bigotry in her will consume her and one day she will expose herself and in the process rubbish all her accomplishments. the problem with bigotry and tribalism is that eventually you make a fool of yourself even amongst your professional peers and those who once respected you. Just like the respected former NBA president who for tribal reasons has now taken leave of the intellect that earned him a SAN and the position of NBA president a assert in a public media such a ridiculous assertion that you need 25% of FCT to become president. Even a baby lawyer knows all citizens are equal so no citizen can have a vote more powerful than another, talk less a SAN and former NBA president!!! Its the same way the celebrated Chinua Achebe made a fool of himself and damaged his previously stellar reputation just before he died. The bigotry and tribal sentiment will eat up the best of the Ibos if they are not careful. When you are so driven by emotion eventually you make a fool of yourself because you cannot think objectively and the only people you appeal to are those equally emotional or thinking, the univested, the rational, the objective just look at you thinking "oh my God, what a trainwreck, how could you make such a fool of yourself"!! |
Why are they surprised, they started with gay rights, then same sex marriage, then transsexual rights, then transgender, then identify as ….. why dog sef no go get right? The girl identified as a dog. I pity anyone looking to that effed up zone called the western world for leadership……Foolish people!!! |
