This is 2018 photos. Is the OP living three years in the past? Or in another parallel universe and only happened upon a weak portal in our parallel universe in 2021? Please OP, can you tell Nigerians in your parallel universe not to vote Buhari for a second term cos his regime has become hell for Nigerians in this universe in 2021? |
Degereji: Onyeka90210:Got a refund on Stanbic today following a dispute I won two days ago on a 10.24 usd item. The equivalent naira refunded to me was 4,864 naira. That comes to around 475 naira to the dollar. On Zenith, purchased an item worth 33.29usd today. Debit equivalent in naira was 15,969.04 naira. That comes to around 479 naira to the dollar. So apparently with the rise of these ones from the initial 470 naira, that of GTB too, as mentioned by someone few posts back, has gone up to 482 naira. |
Realteeyee123:Don't worry. An 8 item combined package I have being handled by Speedaf also arrived Nigeria yesterday and begun customs clearance process today. I give it that clearance will be completed this week barring any unforseen circumstances. So by Saturday or Monday I expect to get a call. The package has like three tracking numbers all attached to it and all three can be tracked. Two numbers of RB..... and a third by Speedaf which handled the combined package.

drnsoha:This is a bad testimony after the possible many successful transactions the merchant has conducted here. First, there are possibilities for errors by merchants during selection and shipping process. But once their attention is called to it, the alacrity and sincerity with which the error is quickly corrected to favour the aggrieved party (the buyer in this case) goes a long way to tell if customer satisfaction still remains number one priority after several successful sales. There was once a story here of a successful merchant on this thread who gradually slid into pomposity and insincerity and he was thankfully replaced just in time by people like justcallmenuel and wilmaria at that right moment. If these two mentioned merchants hope to remain relevant here and not go the way of that unnamed merchant, it is better to learn from his errors. Once you notice there is a problem with transaction, do well to quickly resolve it before it piques the buyer long enough to make him/her create a thread on it. One good business acumen is to know when to give in to a single customer's demands even if it means you losing a few bucks because in return, the good testimony will earn you trust and patronage from hundreds other customers. I hope willmaria will sort it out and give us reasons not to worry. Secondly, what dá hell is this new fad with merchants trying to fly the option of buying "used solar panels" from them when the initial conversation clearly indicated interest in buying new panels? A buyer that I referenced to one of our numerous merchants reported back disaapointedly to me. First, the merchant tried to box him into getting extra of what he does not need - he needed three pcs 24v solar panels, but the seller tried to convince him that they (solar panel merchants generally) no longer sell odd numbers but in pairs. Please I need someone to corroborate or disprove this notion as merchant's new policy. So the buyer that needed three panels will need to either buy two pieces (one short of what he needs) or buy four pieces (one in excess of what he needs which won't be useful in the short term). He then said when he insisted to the seller that under no circumstance will he get one extra panel that he won't be needing, the seller then mischievously slid in the statement, "except you will buy fairly used which is the only ones we can sell in odd numbers". Like wtf! If you stock used panels, that is your headache. Keep if for those who for personal reasons have solid interest in buying used ones, not trying to push your unsold stocks to buyers that had no interest in such in the first instance. I await a time I will need to make personal purchases from my favourite merchants here and see if they come up with such funny attitudes. I pray to God I have a solid and reasonable replacement merchant standby and at the nick of time when such happens. wilmaria14:@bolded. I like this style sha o. Keep it up o. I go send buyers to you soon.mcTrinity:One is a coincidence. Two is a pattern already. Three is a sure behaviour. This is quite common with cables and wires purchased. Once the cable length is much, they end up sending you something short by two or three meters. They get lucky if the deficient kebght sent is still sufficient for your installation cos you may not notice. But if you're lucky and unlucky enough to discover because the wire length fron your panels failed to reach your controllers , and you complain to 'em, the next thing is to blame their boys. Meanwhile in some instances, na dem be the boys o;, shadowing for many shops simultaneously. |
This Ekiti man has caught the Lai Mohammed bug. Lai "lying" Mohammed needed to take a break from the public eye in the light of the heat generated by the #EndSars report recently, so now it is imperative that another liar takes his place in the meantime. Adeniyi Adebayo, I feel sorry for you that it had to be you to take up that inglorious and ignoble role. I wish they they had given it to one of their own who already has some proficiency in lying shamefacedly, Garba Shehu for instance. But then what do I know, I'm just some Nigerian trying to impart common sense. |
monkvirus:@bolded. "Delivery company" appears to be the last mile carrier. Meaning that the item is likely already in Nigeria. So seeing that the item is already within the shores, what you should do is to request for extension of purchase protection from the seller; for maybe a month. As per freedom of choice to choose speedaf, that is within the purview of AE, not the buyer. Not even the seller gets to choose that option. But in most cases, Cainiao shipped items and AliExpress Standard shipped items end up getting handled by Speedaf as opposed to Singapore Post and Hong Kong post which are not handed over to speedaf. But are you sure the item is not being handled by Speedaf? What's your tracking number like? "NG", "SG", "HK"? |
Chimex1930:Majority of orders I made shortly (few days) before 11/11 and about two orders I made on 11/11 have all gotten stuck at "accepted for linehaul" for about a week now. The estimate date for arrival is even December 15, like 4 weeks transit. Speedaf has a 2 weeks or 3 weeks top transit from shipping to delivery. Item getting stuck at "accepted for line haul" for days is an unusual experience for me. Perhaps it is due to the massively increased volume due to 11/11 purchases. Meanwhile a speedaf parcel was today delivered at my doorstep by a bike man. I suppose they also use freelance guys who know the streets quite well to carry out the last mile delivery. |
This is one serious and game changing release from the Chinese automaker GAC, yes the same GAC that sells their ICE vehicles in Nigeria. A thousand kilometers range electric SUV (the Eion) to be announced as the Chinese autoshow November 19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t97RYSIcx2o |
The attached video does not in any way correlate with the news. What kind of news reportage is that? |
Plague City truly. Lime an 11th plague follow up to the biblical 10 plagues coming to reality. |
Oh no! Too bad. |
Lixusheng:I think the motion plus and this motion boom mostly have the same specs - 30w output, wireless connectivity to a second speaker, USB type C charging, editable on-phone equaliser settings. The difference is that the boom is for outdoor and is waterproof, hence it seems to have some compromise with the speaker system (no tweeter) to allow for that. It also has 10000mah 24hrs battery life after full charge. Meanwhile the motion plus is mainly for indoor and not waterproof and therefore has a little bit nicer quality to the speaker output than the boost. Also in contrast, the battery capacity is less (6500mah) and billed for 12hrs straight run after full charge. The Anker boost costs like 2k to 3k more than the motion plus. Left to choose, I think I'll take the motion plus due to its sleekness, aesthetics, 15 degree steep sound output design. Used to have the 20 watts Anker premium before the battery crapped out on me after two years and is non-repairable (sadly a known and common problem with that model). I also have a Bose Soundlink 2 for three years that seems to have been highjacked from me now, and since Soundlink 2 is still as expensive as it comes (about 70k) precluding buying another one, I think I will have to most likely get the motion plus. Then I may find a way of convincing the highjacker to give me back the Soundlink and take the motion plus instead.

nani667:Or on the alternative, if the purchase protection has not elapsed, he should prevail on the seller to extend it by another 2 to 3 months as a condition for closing your dispute. Once the protection is extended, he can then close the dispute. 2 months should be enough for a replacement item to be sent and get to you, that is if the seller was truly sincere about sending a replacement in the first instance. If he suspects any foul play again within those two months, he can again file for dispute and upload the chats between them as evidence to AE arbitration team. Most insincere sellers will not grant your request for purchase protection extension and will like to play you around until you close the dispute. These are my methods of approach to sellers that sob, cry and wail in order to scam you into closing dispute. |
WHITELIGHTER:What Anker product series is that? |
jboixxx:Okay. Apparently you know "more" of what happened since you seem to be an insider who knows more than the "public" in matters that directly affect them and needs the air cleared about the inadequacies. I seek to learn. And I believe I speak for many here too. So can you kindly tell us "that which we do not know"? |
Daboomb:Your fears and reservations are without doubt valid. I also initially thought eWizard1's DIY battery packs are made with brand new Samsung 18650 cells until a few posts back where it became apparent that they are recycled cells. From the pictures, his packs are so neatly assembled in a fine and beautifully machined case that you will argue if you were told the batteries inside are not brand new but "second life" cells (to borrow the words of our friend). New and reliable 18650 cells are hard to come by in the Nigerian space and even if you do come by it, it is likely to cost you an arm and a leg and still with the question of reliable quality. Even in the developed climes, DIY enthusiasts get by with recycled 18650s and other Li-ion form factors to build their battery packs. You Tube videos is replete with DIYers who source their cells as recycled on "battery hookup dot com" website. Jehu Garcia is one popular you tuber who used 18650s in a lot of ways including making packs for his volkswagen bus that he converted to electric vehicle. He used it in DIY power walls and roller skates. Our own dapsyra here used wafer-shaped Li-on cells to build his own pack and they seem to be very powerful and perform impressively (Li-ons are generally more powerful and are more energy dense than LifePO4, but the greater fire risk is its achille's heel). Having said that, I want to assume that eWizard1's source for 18650s are the same primary source I get from - this is just an assumption since it seems to be the source of the many "second life" 18650s flying around - this source is MTN lumous. I was made to understand that lumous packs that develop fault after a few months of use are replaced for the user while the faulty returned ones are stored to be discarded. Now most of these lumous packs have only faulty electronics in which case their batteries are still fully intact and functional. They are then auctioned at a token. It seems this is the source of his cells. Although I still implore him for the sake of curious minds needing more disclosure to decide to patronise him, to mention the source of his cells in case my assumptions are wrong. My experience with cells sourced from this primary point isn't bad at all. The least remaining capacity per cell I have gotten around 2700mah. Most times, I get a capacity reading of 2800mah to 2850mah (this around 95% remaining capacity) . A new unused 3000mah 18650 gives you around 2900 capacity test and each new one costs around 1200 naira. So if you can get a 2700mah caoacity Samsung INR cell for sub 250 naira, I don't think it's a bad deal. I have been using 48v packs built from this for about 2 months and the experience isn't bad at all. I have LiFeP04 packs too but ventured into 18650 in addition because of its large energy density. I intend to up the packs to around 400ah in about a month's time. So until I'm able to clock one year, I won't be able to give an objective UX view of the "second life" cells. But for now, safe assumptions as I made above are what I can still offer. |
The Nigerian Minister for Terror and Banditry has spoken. Some monies were allocated for the sector in the last supplementary budget of October. He should be on the lookout for the summon of the lawmakers to defend his own budget preparation for that sector for 2022 annual budget. Well done Minister Shehu Gumi, CON. |

In need of a good brand new 180 watts monocrystalline panel for a small setup for a neighbour. Can any of our vendors here supply this? |
Ha! As as how? Please if you are Nigerian and are a beneficiary of FG's 58 million and you're on nairaland, make a roll call so that we can verify FG's claim. We don't want what happened during the Covid lock down that we kept doubting FG's covid allowance as scam, even up till this day. So if you benefited from this new 58 million, please help FG to verify the claim as true, biko. |
Perhaps you once lost a Sim card that is attached to your account and now the number has been rẹ-assigned to a new subscriber. In the event this happens, and the number still subsists as the one attached to your bank account, then the new user will be able to conduct some transactions using that mobile number. |
earthrealm: ![]() Was it a 24v system or 48v system? Who knows. Maybe the reputable installer has found a way to make a system inverter work as either 24v or 48v system simultaneously. |
Haba! Pray tell, what is the problem with this man fah?! Does he know how many fuel tanker explosions occur in Nigeria monthly? Or how many road mishaps wrought by Dangote tankers on weekly basis? Or how many deaths of Nigerians due to such issues? Yet we have never heard him come on air to commiserate with his own people. The collapsed 31 story building in Lagos is another recent one. Has he said any condolences on this? Yet, a single one off incident in Sierra Leone is what brothers him. This guy misplace his priorities, truly. |
God bless this man bountifully for being proud of his home country in far away land. What you will see is Buhari flashing foreign products in his shows collection while overseas when he has places like Kano and Aba where nice homemade shoes are in abundance. How is he even sure that the shoes he buys from foreign countries are not ones made in Nigeria and later exported? |
That's their headache. Why didn't they threaten to call for his head or his removal the moment they noticed that he was becoming a waste of space and person? The rest of the country can't pay for the irrationality of the North. |
jboixxx:Well, speedaf have a dedicated and reliable tracking number which indicates that an item is being handled by them and they expectedly as the last carrier should deliver such items to the recepient as they have always done from inception. The problem here is that NIPOST sometimes in recent times apparently highjacks parcels from Speedaf which accounts for the "Speedaf-Nipost" notification in the tracking information. Such items if handled by Speedaf the rest of the way without interference from Nipost arrives within days and at no extra cost to the recipient. However, for the fact that it is hijacked by NIPOST upon arrival into Nigeria, the direct opposite is what befalls the item, i. ẹ. delayed delivery and the so called "official charges". |
How dem go turn out en masse? You wan make dem kpai? The politicians that patronise it for its initially presumed high safety and security have now seen that no where in the country is safe, thanks to their ineptitude. Even Buhari knows the air space he plies isn't safe fòr him anymore the reason the army had to buyback an anti aircraft gun from the Bandits. |
mctfopt:Okay. Maybe I will file a report with speedaf too. |
ewizard1:Okay. Is it brand new 18650s that are used? What brand (Samsung, Sony, Sanyo etc) are used? And does the pack have communications port? |
OBJ was the last president that invested massively in medical equipments. Even though it was effective and laudable, most of those equipments are now obsolete and their procurement as at then was frought with fraud. But at least he did equip the FG health institutions. This is a far cry from this Buhari administration whose next door hospital (the Aṣọ Rock clinic) cannot boast of having needles and syringes. |
