COMRADES, there was power cut in my area, so, because of the heat I couldn't sleep soundly in the night, when it was dawn, I eased myself and went back to bed. And one of my neighbours, I think he works offshore

He'd returned on Sunday, this morning, he drove out, and when he came back, then fight broke out between him and his girlfriend that have been cohabiting, when the girl tried to escape through the backyard entrance (which is near my window) unfortunately it was locked up, and the guy trapped her there and beat her up with a wooden stick like an armed robber, honestly I thought that girl would die!

Before we could come to her rescue, she was already been beaten (with a thick stick) black and blue and was just panting and weak! And the girl confided in me sometimes last year that she is an orphan

Your only problem is that you want to please everyone except yourself. You want to please the church, you want to please your inlaws, you don't want to be seen as following your father's legacy. Guy, there is no marriage in haven. It all ends here on earth! If that lady and her family doesn't give you peace, then quit! Your peace of mind is paramount. Just pack and leave her, but keep sending your children's upkeep.

4. But in Nigeria, ₦1.500 will give you breakfast and lunch.
5.Majority of people's monthly house rent (self contained apartment) in the USA is $1,000 and above... and that is your own 2 year's rent!
6. Have you ever paid for insurance before? Insurance in the US is $280 and that is almost ₦100,000 monthly.
7. When last did you pay monthly phone bills? I pay almost ₦40,000 monthly and if I don't, they are going to block my SIM. Your own MTN can be there for months without recharge.
8. When last did you work on Saturday and Sunday?
9. This I do compulsorily and on regular basis.
10. Don't get me wrong, the US is better than Nigeria, depending on which angle you are viewing it.

I haven't planted Agbado yet

Around the month of March 2023,i got some cassava stems from my neighbor. I decided to add it to some crops in my garden as i still have some unused space on my plot of land.

Lo and below, i harvested it January 2024 and i got some reasonable tubers which i processed into 'Lafun'.

Upon milling it, i got about 4 painter of flour.

I used a very big tuber to make 'abacha' which i and my family enjoyed with coconut.

The interesting part about this process was the experience for my young kids. Funny enough they were seeing cassava for the first time. My son said he thought garri was made from cassava leaves😄.

The crops in my garden include:
* Cassava
* Plantain
* Beans (the ones Igbos call fiofio)
* Bitter guard ( i substitute it for fresh tomatoes)
* Okra
*Scent pepper

Leafy vegetables are not left out:
* Water leaves
* Spinach
* Bitter leave
* Fluted pumpkin (Ugu)
* Scent leaves

Among the fruit planted are:
* Pawpaw
* Mango
* Native pear
* Pineapple
* Banana
* Coconut
* Sugar cane
*Soursop

Most of the fruits have not reached maturity except the pawpaw and sugar cane.
The fruits were planted in a way that they would not obstruct future development of the land.

Note:
The cassava only took a very small portion of the land, but the harvest was impressive compared to my expectations and effort put in.
This time around,with the economic 'balablu', i have expanded the space i will be using as i will be planting more cassava. The cassava stems are already prepared from the previous harvest and ready to be planted.

Just plant something,no matter how small!

i am a 24 year old female still living with my parents (single parent, dad) and i will say he is one of the best , but their is this problem i have being having with him for years and it is about, how he talks to me especially when a mistake is being made and when he wants to correct me ... he is so abusive in his words and sometimes he may even try to hit me in the process, and sometime he makes an issue in every little thing ..most times i try to tolerate and ignore but .. it feels like when i do.. the situation gets worst ..so this time around i try not to tolerate anymore because its affecting me mentally and emotionally , it seem like this wants to bring an issue between me and my dad, and i have being a good daughter to him.. pls NL i need advice on what to do, how do i cope with a difficult parent, what can i do to stop this. i will really appreciate your answers ..thanks.

Communication between the two of you is the major challenge. Try and have a herty discussion with him. Do that when he is in a good and playful mood.
