joeydozzy: truth is a relationship would still work without 100% attention, I've seen so many but trust me relationship without money is like a person without a job. the relationship could exist but your role has been tarnished All these girls dey form.No money and they wont touch u wth a 10 foot pole. Try it and see.im Men are biologically programmed to look for sex, while women are on the lookout for a man who is willing to share his resources with them and the offspring of the sex. |
Romance › Re: Why Are Men No Longer Pursuing Women? by CHIMSKY(m): 9:11am On Dec 22, 2012 |
ChopUrMoni: Have you ever played hide and seek? If you have, then you know that once the person has been found by the finder its not the end of the game. The person found must run and the finder would have to pursue until they have caught them. Then and only then is the the game over.
I have noticed a trend among a lot of men. They have become so lazy that they do not bother chasing the girl they love. The saying "ah... its just a girl, they are many more out there" and "she's playing hard to get, i cant be bothered and she's not the only beautiful girl out there anyway" have become so popular among men especially black men.
What happened to the value of chasing a woman? Why has it become so worthless and looked down upon. Would men of today have survived many years ago. Men in those days didn't complain when they pursued the girl they loved, in many cases suffered in the hands of the girls family and then paid a massive amount to have her as his wife. Today it's a lot easier yet men are not willing or should I say are too lazy to pursue the woman of their dreams. Oh i forgot... there are too many fishes in sea. Why bother right?
Men, we love to be pursued and conquered by you. Why do you all think the stories of Cinderella, Snow white, Rapunzel and the like are so loved by girls? They all had one thing in common. A prince who not only found them but also fought for them. Trust me we love to be chased and caught by you.
If you are not serious with the girl then don't bother. But, if you do love her don't allow you friends to push you to get over her after she has rejected you twice. Try a little harder than twice . I noticed white guys have always chased me fervently. But when it comes to black men, even though they profess to loving me so deeply they don't bother if i don't respond to them after a specific time. If any race of man on earth should know how to pursue a /+woman fervently until he captures her it should be a black man because thats what you fathers and grand fathers did. It's in your DNA So now, what are you waiting for? Get started! The truth is that many of us men now realize that the more money you have and are willing to throw around, the more girls will flock to you. Chasing Girls is out ,Chasing Money is in! |

You know, the world is a strange place. It seems like it was only yesterday that a girl who got pregnant out of wedlock was ostracized, cut off social list and insulted. Her child was called a bastard. The behaviour may have been a bit extreme but at least it set boundaries. It spelt out in clear terms what was right and what was wrong. It spelt out the consequences of risky behaviour. Now people have children out of wedlock and we "euphemistically" call them baby mamas. It might all seem like harmless banter now, but with the way society is looking the other way,who knows:your young impressionable daughters may be looking forward to becoming a celebrity baby mama just like Annie Macauley that they always watch on TV. Sad!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Tony,Please do not miss the point. So because he was appointed CBN Governor based on the twisted Federal Character Principle,a man who is the de facto Chief Economic Adviser to the Nigerian Government should not speak his mind?Even though he sees things going wrong? It is this kind of backward thinking that has kept Nigeria as primitive as it is right now. That is why when politicians are caught red-handed for stealing public money, fools like you ask 'is he the only one stealing/' Tony Spike: Was this same Sanusi Lamido not appointed CBN governor based on federal character or am I missing something here? |

ignis: Actually, some people take it personal when asked 'how was your nyt'. My senior colleague told me its very wrong to ask an adult 'how was your nyt'? To be on the safer side, just ask ' Hope your nyt was gud. Or did u sleep well? Because people are different. It is also wrong to ask a child."I hope you slept well?"is a lot better. |
Nairaland General › Re: What Is Wrong In Asking Someone "How Was Your Night?" by CHIMSKY(m): 2:33pm On Nov 28, 2012 |
What is wrong is wrong. It is very bad English. The real question should be:I hope/trust you rested well? It is simply Nigerian English coined by people who do not know any better and can not be bothered to ask. Each time you go along with the crowd and use it,you are simply validating this wrong usage of the language.Because so many adults say it,our children now believe it is ok. I am shocked at the number of supposedly well educated and sophisticated people who now say this.Follow ,follow mentality na im go kill us! |

Romance › Re: Can A Relationship Work When We Have Different Backgrounds by CHIMSKY(m): 11:39pm On Nov 10, 2012 |
10 years down the line ,"picky","big girls" like you will be back here on Nairaland disturbing everybody with the fact that you are still single and lamenting how unfair life has been to you. Miss_3v3: I have been dating my boyfriend for about 2,5years and even till now am not sure if he is the one. He seems very sure about me but sometimes i feel like the real reason apart from the fact that i love him, that i am still with him is he is such a nice guy and am afraid that i may not find a guy like him again.
We have different backgrounds(grew up abroad while he has never left the country, different thoughts( am more "westernized and he is kinda local ). Sometimes i feel we are too incompatible like i am the type of woman who believes in a relationship, all should be equal. i don't want a man that thinks it is just a women's place to be in the kitchen just like i don't think it's only a man's job to pay bills or buy everything just because it is a "man's" job.
When i get married i have no problems with sharing cost's equally our bills etc just like when we both come home from work. The least he can do is help out perhaps with dishes etc not expecting him to cook but if he did it once in a while to surprise me then i would not mind . But my bf is more of a women's place is this and a man's place is that. Another potential problem which i just realised could be a problem is am going to be earning way more than him.
I am currently doing my articles towards chartered accountancy and he is currently working in real estate business he got a new job. I am afraid that i may become the boss of the house because if am paying bills and he is not even willing to help me with some of the things at home, i think there will be a problem.
Another issue is we are currently in different countries, we have been having a long distance relationship and i see him during holidays. Now am not sure if i want to relocate and give up everything because i can have more opportunities here then there especially for a man am not sure of.
I don't think he is willing to relocate because all his friends are there and family and job wise he may not get a job here. He seems indecisive about his future as he wants to go back and study and i don't know am very confused. Sometimes i find him childish and not mature enough even though he is 2 years older then me.
Should i hang in there or call it quits? |

Love and poverty are two mutually exclusive terms in this our harsh economic environment. greatgod2012: To me, what is ur definition of poverty, if u can afford some things by urself, then i think u are not poor. Poverty is a thing of d mind, if u think u are poor then u are, and if u think u are not, u are not, 2ndly, what type of poverty are u referring to,i think, even if u dont have enough physical cash now,and u are mentally rich and wealthy(u can frame up constructive ideas), then u shoudnt consider urself poor. A self-acclaimed poor person has written him/herself off. So its up to u. Meanwhile, dont be lazy and idle, and be expecting somebody to respect u, so wake up and find something doing no matter how small, in order to avoid embarrasing urself. However, as a woman, when u pass thru some difficulties together with ur lover, it strengthens relationship, if u tend to date or go out with somebody who is already done, financially, then, u are looked at or regarded as gold-digger. Politics › Re: FCT To Buy N295M Spy Balloon by CHIMSKY(m): 3:35pm On Nov 06, 2012 |
abubello: The Federal Capital Territory Administration has concluded arrangement to purchase an aerial surveillance balloon from an Israeli company at the cost of $1.9 million (equivalent N295 million), documents leaked to Daily Trust have shown. When the deal is sealed, the balloon, technically called Sky Star Tactical Aerostat System, will be launched into the skies of Abuja where it will hover covering a 6-kilometre-radius area, a defence contractor privy to the deal said. The documents show that contract for the supply and installation of the balloon has been approved by the Bureau for Public Procurement and is now awaiting FCT Minister Bala Mohammed’s nod. A letter from the FCTA to the contractors notified them of the BPP approval. “I am directed to inform you that the Bureau for Public Procurement has reviewed the proposal and granted ‘No Objection’ for the procurement in the total sum of N295, 000,650.00,” said the letter, signed by Director, FCT Procurement Department, Ahmed Mohammed Joda. BOKO HARAM!!!Share the Money! “You are therefore requested to indicate in writing acceptance or otherwise of the offer within one week of the receipt of this letter. The terms of the contract will be discussed upon your acceptance of the certified sum.” The letter, dated December 22, 2011, is titled “Re: Proposal for the Supply and Installation of Sky Star Aerial Surveillance Equipment (1) One No. Sky Star Tactitical System.” However, an aggrieved defence contractor Alhaji Rabiu Hassan alleged that the contract has been inflated. He told Daily Trust in Abuja that the surveillance balloon’s cost is $300,000 but is inflated to $1.9 million. According to the contracts documents, the contract sum includes the costs of seaway or airworthy packing of the equipment and documentation. Terms of the contract indicated that the final execution of the order is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Defence. Attempts to get comments from the FCT ministry failed yesterday. When our reporter asked for comments to this story from a spokesman for the ministry Sule Hazat, he said he would call our reporter back. But he did not do that and did not answer subsequent calls till the time of going to press last night. Another spokesman for the ministry, Nosike Ogbuenyi, did not answer his calls. ‘FG procured faulty drones at N29bn’ On Sunday, defence contractor Rabiu Hassan also alleged that the Federal Government has procured two faulty unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at an inflated cost of $240 million from certain Israeli contractors. He alleged that the drones are being kept in Benin. But yesterday, a senior official in the office of the National Security Adviser told Daily Trust he was not aware of the contract. Also the Nigerian Air Force which has the capability of handling UAVs said it was not part of the deal. Hassan also on Sunday alleged that the Federal Government is hiring two Israeli spy satellites at an inflated cost of 145 million Euros (about N29.2). He said the actual cost of the satellites was put at $40 million. The spy satellites have a 2,000-kilometre radius and are to cover the Nigerian airspace as well as the entire West African region, he alleged further. Alhaji Rabiu Hassan, who is the chief executive of Hypertech (UK) Limited, said he had petitioned the Presidency and other public agencies on these contracts which he said have high security implications for Nigeria.
