At the bolded, maybe i was wrong when i earlier wrote you have passed the denial stage of the grieving process. You are definitely still stucked at the denial stage. You still have a long road to walk, while you grieve, at the very least 3 years.

The OP is still grieving GEJ's loss.

There are about 6 stages of loss, he is over the denial stage, i hope he will survive the acceptance stage.

It seems this man is the one that will save the nation.

I have argued that the top two requirements in this nation are 1. refineries that can meet all of the nations and even surpass the local need to meet export 2. Power supply that will stimulate SMEs growth and big industries.

Funny enough, a single private hand has set his eyes on achieving that by 2018.

I disagree with his claim that oil price was not the man reason for our forex woes, his argument is like saying he was stable earning 90,000 naira in 1998, and so should not be unstable in 2016 cos he earns 350,000naira .

Dangote failed to account sharp increase in forex demand in the last 18 years, time value of money, increase in population, increase in middle class population . local demand of oil derivatives in 1998 vs 2016, refineries output in 1998 vs 2016. e.t.c

A simple Vomit will declare you drank garri. Thus, your stomach has failed you.

This is extreme in my opinion. I suspect wrong planning of funds utilisation.

When are they going to secure oil pipelines already? Use of sensors, motion detectors, electrocution, security cameras is cheaper than all these monthly repairs and shutdown. What happened to emergency response squads where they swarm an area 5mins after an alarm? Do they have two heads in other countries where these things work?
My exact opinion, excuse of vandalism is becoming untenable, the solution can never be continuos repair, never. There has to be a sustainable solution to pipeline vandalism, if the FG can not secure it, then the pipelines can be privatised, i am aware there were moves in very recent past to privatise the pipeline networks. It is utterly annoying to be told that pipelines are broken and all that is done is to simply fix it.

Blocking BH to have access to food, water, money, vehicles, fuel will soon render them useless, they will surrender, or fight weakly.

Another bullshit, i didnt remember writing that you wrote he should fail cos others did.

Whatever score he had, if he feels he deserves more, there ought to be way to channel that grievance, and that should be the discourse.

Get it, Whatever has human intervention is subject to error . I didnt see where the young man boasted, it might have come across to you as a boast, he wrote that he typically scores avg of 45/50 in maths, which is a valid assessment of himself, so if all of a sudden it looks like a boast to you, check yourself ! His performance should be independent of others. what if with his 260 he fails to get admission, because of others with higher scores?

I am disappointed with most of the initial responses on the first page, the Op has a valid grievance. Till tomorrow, i am yet to determine how jamb determine their scores, in particular a 50 equal marks questions exam is meant to churn only even scores, but that is not the case.

I think JAMB should introduce an option where applicants pay certain amount of money to request for remark, and candidates who actually score higher gets a refund.

I place more premium on blockade of logistics supply to bokoharam than actually fighting bh on the battle field.

The war would be won as long as long as food, water, fuel and medical supplies hardly get to them.

This is a better news than army kills 16 bh members, as several others flee.
Politics › Re: And Here Comes The Change Buhari Promised.... by chinchum(m): 8:00am On Mar 01, 2016
tolulakin:
Okay...you defended your knowledge of global crude prices well....not your knowledge of Economics though (you sound foolish on that front). However, that you will come on a thread and sound so aggressive and full of insults immediately begins to suggest to one that you are another foolish young Nigerian who has an overrated idea of his own intelligence...too bad all you displayed up there is crass ignorance and an untrained personality.

To address your shallow knowledge of Economics or rather the total lack of same, let me quickly enlighten you.

1. When the prices of crude goes down this way, knowing well that our country is quite too focused on oil exports, it is time to devalue the Naira. Whether we devalue ten times is not the issue, fact is, we cannot by common sense continue to defend the Naira with foreign reserves and hope to have results. Results only come if we devalue the Naira and try to strengthen our other export potentials. While your foolishness held sway, you forgot to notice that the Naira already devalued itself as it sells at around 305 even in Banks where they are supposedly 197. What else will foolish 'wise' people like you be looking out for before screaming for devaluation? One other lesson you failed to bring out of your own analysis of the GEJ era was the fact that a pragmatic and continous devaluation of the Naira in the face of the trends helped the government protect the economy in the eye of the storm. You probably got a D in Economics...or you really cannot think well enough.

2. Did my entire post talk about the crude oil prices only? Was 5000 payment tied to crude oil prices? Did your band of saviors not know that the economy was going into hard times before they made promises? Why defend cheap political deceit with this show of senselessness?

3. Has electricity been stable in your area? Does the price of crude affect that too? You had only one issue to attack in my entire post and you think that badly-concocted defence of PMB gives you a minute right to insult me?

4. You claimed devaluation of the Naira caused some fuel scarcity at the time, right? Your PMB has refused to devalue the Naira and yet, we have had two mega scarcities within his nine months. Where is the magic wand? Seems you were thinking so badly of how to attack GEJ but never thought of the flip side?

Dude, I do not know if you are drunk or have lost your mind....but when you jump on threads next time, make sure you have a defence for all issues raised before you make your noise...half-baked nitwits aren't good for a public forum.

And you will notice I refused to call you a zombie? Thats because I do not resort to petty name-calling like your kind...when you are without sense, I take good care to tell you to your face instead of calling you some generalized political nicknames....I found the sense lacking in you today!

Sleep good and goodluck with your career in Buhari butt-licking.
You are a dunce !
Keep screaming devaluation in a consuming nation. To what extent does the nation continue to devalue? 38% of our import value is on refined oil products, where are the refineries your hero provided after spending over 5 years in the longest Oil boom ever in this country.? Any devaluation will put a hit on price of oil refined products, any big hit on crude oil price sends prices of other goods/services soaring higher.

Read up, crude oil prices is tied to everything in a monolithic economy like Nigeria, as in everything!. That is the main revenue earner , until things change. Projects will suffer when crude oil prices slump in a country like Nigeria. Your hero GEJ had only 9% budgeted for capital expenditure in the 2015 budget in the face of low crude oil price.

You even had the guts to make mention of two biggest failures of GEJ that means any sensible person has no right to think of reelecting him with their vote. 1. Electricity supply 2. Refineries . Failure in the energy sector in an oil boom should be a no no. Instead GEJ set up a SURE P to feed individuals like you, after partial removal of subsidy. No one fails on the biggest unit courses and expect to move to the next class.

The essence of attending the walls of an institution is to broaden your mind and learn to put things in perspective.
Politics › Re: And Here Comes The Change Buhari Promised.... by chinchum(m): 1:17am On Mar 01, 2016
Anyone who lays the foundation of the tough times we are currently passing through on the premise that it is because we have PMB as president , and not GEJ needs to get his/her head checked. For goodness sake, seek understanding and stand out and stop thinking like a crass idiiot with no sense of logic or rationality. Things started getting really bad since november 2014, but we only had a bit of shockabsorber. Crudeoil price only fell below Nigerias 2014 budget benchmark some time in October 2014. Nigerias foreign reserves was close to 40 billion usd, it became badly hit, The GEJ admin devalued the Naira from 155 to 168 in dec 2014, the price of crude oil continued to slide, for the second time in 3 months , the GEJ admin devalued the naira from 168 to 199 again in Feb. 2015. these two devaluations affected petrol supply, and led to fuel scarcity as marketers were making subsidy payment claims using different exchange rates, and supply was low sometime in April 2015.

Any talk of diversification at the moment will not yield results earlier than the next 18 months. We are in tough times, we have hit a rough patch, and blocking of leakages is the short term solution, and possibly rise in the price of crude oil.

Anytime i see people whine on the basis that it was because GEJ was not voted back, i imagine idiiots. embarassed embarassed

If you must whine, let it not be to promote GEJ, it is nauseating. You people do not like GEJ to be blamed, but you keep bringing his failures to our memories by making dumb claims like if he was there,....bla bla,.....

Politics › Re: 23,846 Ghost Workers And N2.29 Saved: The Only Way We Should Believe This. by chinchum(m): 6:22pm On Feb 29, 2016
BreketeMind:
I have to confess, although I have never had much faith in the Buhari Administration, the BVN idea is one of the best ideas ever conceived and executed in the Nigerian economy to hold back leakages especially with its recent outcome as reported in the media: 23,846 ghost workers unraveled and N2.29 billion saved the country. And it just came when we needed it the most: At these hard economic times. Kudos to the Federal Government for this. This is to tell you we are not biased in our criticism. We really mean well.

But, we still need something done for us to really believe these figures were not invented to win accolades. This is it: The money paid to these ghost workers over the years was not paid into bank accounts belonging to ghosts; No, instead, they belong to real human beings, many of whom are alive at this very moment enjoying the funds stolen from us, or their families are enjoying them. It should be remembered that this huge theft from our common patrimony has led to many people losing their lives to insecurity, hunger, disease and more, among other huge costs to us as a nation and as individuals. So, for us to really believe these figures, let the FG trace the accounts that were receiving these funds to their owners, and let them refund the funds with interest and let us see them punished according to law to address the injustice done and discourage further occurrence of such in our beloved nation of good majority.

Also, if you ask me, I find it hard to believe that salaries paid to 23,846 supposed workers over so many years only would amount to just N2.29 billion. Let the FG look further into the figures. These funds should be refunded considering the fact that when they were stolen, a dollar was probably as low as N100. It's only when the FG does this that Nigerians will be satisfied with the results. It is actually wrong for the media to report that N2.29 billion was 'saved' unless it has been refunded and the appropriate punishment meted to the thieves involved.
You need to get the point, it means FG pays N2.29 billion naira less than it used to pay. If an entrepreneur of a 10 man company used to pay n500,000, and she discovers that 2 out of the 10 workers are ghost workers, excluding the 2 ghost workers, the total wages she pays then drops to say n400,000, then one can say she has saved n100,000
Politics › Re: Petrol Price In Saudi Arabia: Can Nigeria Go This Far? by chinchum(m): 5:37pm On Feb 29, 2016
Saudi arabia produces close to 10 million barrels of oil daily compared to Nigerias 2.3 million barrels of oil daily.

Saudi Arabia refines its oil within to meet the need of saudis, Nigeria can not refine its oil to meet local demand, we freaking import most of our refined product.

Saudi Arabias population is less than 30 million, Nigeria#s population is over 180 million.

Bonus: It cost less to produce crude oil in Saudi Arabia (15+usd/barrel) than it cost to produce in Nigeria (29+usd/barrel on the average)
