He should keep his big mouth shut, they will get more in the news for good when the 2016 budget is passed. Why people speak openly with certainty their deluded imaginations eludes me.

I know about the ikeja cantonment bomb explosion. And of the yorubas that dived into canals and died out of fear.
This is a different scenario
i knew the date because i saw the bodies, the tears and the demographic distribution of the dead. You are an idiiot. The names of those who died is still on the remembrance plaque at Oke- Afa canal, i wont write anything further than that.

u believe that bold-faced lie? when u recover a bomb are u not supposed to detonate it immediately?
Google january 27, 2002. Bombs exploded at the army cantomenent bomb warehouse in Ikeja, Lagos killing hundreds directly, and over a thousand indirectly.

You guys should take it easy with hatred for the govt. of the day, it is becoming nauseating when you oppose with no intellectual base.

Why northern politician? He is based in Lagos. I suspect you couldn't read a 3 line story, that should not take more than 30 seconds of your time. You were so eager to type, i guess your hand was moving faster than your brain, you must have spent more than 30 seconds to type the bullocks.

I see lots of comments in here coated heavily with crass stupidity, for goodness sake, it wasnt BH attack, it was an operational error by the nigerian police of bombs recovered from Boko haram in time past. If you think the sort of foolishness displayed in here is what you need as an opposition to seize power in 2019, you are in a long coma.

Business › Re: Naira Depreciates To N355/$ by chinchum(m): 5:35pm On Feb 25, 2016
i knew the dark cloud cover is not over, what accounted for the appreciation is the drop in demand when it got to 400+, as the dollar tumbled down to Naira, demand surged upwards just again, and inevitably, it will go up again.

..All hail Ifeanyichukwu Uba .. grin

I thought people said that the free fall of dollar is connected to the fall in oil price .. huh
Shut it, what does this has to do with one ifeanyi uba, i thought he said he should be contacted and needs 30 days .

It is a simple demand and supply situation. Demand for dollars dropped drastically when it peaked at 400. Very few importers of foreign goods could afford to buy dollar at 400+, so they closed shop. The cloud is still heavy, and as long as crude oil price stays low, the crisis is not over. The demand for dollar will increase as price of dollar falls to naira, and sooner there would be a tilt in the equilibrium.

Pls can you help put me through how u filled in d fields during payment?

Nna this thing is stressing me out...I've gotten 3diff. Exchange rates from Access bank and I wonder why! shocked there's 275, 486 and 340...smh. I guess I'll know THE exchange rate when my transaction finally pulls through...could be either of them or a totally diff eye popping amt sef...chai there is God! cry
Infact lemme PM u.
What are the challenges you have with filling the form? You have two options , either 322.05 CAD or 235 CAD. The latter is cheaper because that option means WES will send the ECA report using normal post like NIPOST to your specified address, this could take over a month to get to you, unlike the former option that offers express delivery via courier , and it should get to you in 5 days.

I think the value of 1 CAD would have dropped from 275naira, 1 USD = ~1.37 CAD so, i implore you to seize this moment when Naira is appreciating and get it done.

For those that always hike prices of goods/services, basing it on dollar increase....hope say una don hear am! Expecting it to hit 200 soon!!!

Now, where's this economist who was ranting here about oil this, balance of trade that? You see that it was just an artificial hike, just like in petrol stations!!
It is not entirely artificial, demand of dollar for import has actually declined. Many importers of goods simply stopped demanding at 400, as there is little possibility they can make profit at that margin.

So what if buhari had devalued to like 270, according to those dundee big coat wearing economists that regurgitate paper economics they learnt from bretton woods institution, without attempting to streamline knowledge with native intelligence ?

I believe buhari has managed our tough times well enough, and the drought we are in will be over sooner than later.

But that looks like a US dollar rate, are you sure you registered on Canadian WES site? They charge in CAD dollar ke.
the sharp hit on Naira that plunged it to almost 400 /1 USD is the cause, ultimately, it affects CAD dollar too.

Hmmmm! Dts outrageous! Ninety-one gini? I hope they refund d excess o...did u try asking them why it cost that much? Aren't they supposed to use CBN's official rate? shocked
Commercial banks are not charging CBN rate ooo, it is at black market rate. 78k was initially debited from my account, and i was frowning, 2 days after when typically such transactions are ratified, it moved from 78 to 91.5, my frown turned to crying grin
Politics › Re: N400m Fraud: EFCC To Quiz New Ooni Of Ife by chinchum(m): 4:42am On Feb 24, 2016
(EFCC) has commenced action on a petition against the new Ooni of Ife, new Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his Company named Metropole Interproject Limited over an alleged N400 Million forgery.
The alleged forgery involved the immediate past Ooni of Ife, Late Oba Okunade Sijuade Olubuse’s Business Empire.
This report is contradictory and appears like a piece of trash. Whose coy is involved in forgery? Late ooni of ife OR new ooni of ife?

My test date is 5th..well over 10days.
Thanks.
They still do, i paid for WES with zenith debit card last week thursday, though i was charged an arm and a leg for the 322 CAD, 91,500naira to be precise.

Well, what accounted for the close to sharp fall is not clear yet, but i doubt it is the nations reserves utilised to defend the naira.

Politics › Re: The Worrisome Rising Population Of Nigeria by chinchum(m): 4:40pm On Feb 23, 2016
Nigeria is not overpopulated, but the issue is those breeding poverty, giving birth to what they can clearly not take care of. Oga has 2 kids, driver has 9 kids. Those 9 kids are shortchanged nutritionally, educationally, emotionally, and you wonder why there won't be problem soon enough.

Nigerians must understand there are times and season. Season of plenty and famine. We had season of plenty until, mid 2014, the season of drought is upon us at the moment, this is not about PMB that is there, infact, i am happy it was not GEJ bestowed with handling this season of drought, it would have been a bad situation made worse. When the budget 2016 is passed in 2 weeks fron now, more funds will be pumped in to the system, projects will be funded. There should be a respite.

I expect that to take the front burner. Prepaid meters before increment is what i support.

How stable is the power supply over there compared to Nigeria? Here we can boast of 6hours of power supply in a day that is if I am not exaggerating. My 14 months old son knows when there is power supply, and his mood suddenly swings once it is out. Is this the future we want for our children?
With a prepaid meter, will you be charged for the period there is no supply?
Politics › Re: Nigerians Pay Highest Tariff Per Kilowatt In Africa’ by chinchum(m): 2:04pm On Feb 22, 2016
grandlexuz:
Who says those are the highest rates in Africahuh In Cameroon I pay the equivalent of 35 N/Kwh... Sometimes higher than that, because the higher your consumption the higher your per unit charge. That is not even the end of the story. 19.25% (Tax) of my consumption is again added to my consumption. I have been on this forum for so many years and can categorically say most Nigerians complain over everything. I could not help laughing when people were complaining on a 50N charge by CBN..LOL 11 cubes of sugar costs 50N in Cameroon..
Good, i guess that is why that assertion was not backed with any instances and figures.

The major problem is not necessarily the current planned tarriff or the number of hours that the power supply is available, it is the estimated billing, which must be corrected with provision of smart prepaid meters.
