nothing wrong with the statement, the "we" as used is to signify majority and does not necessarily mean she voted APC, I even doubt if she voted on election day. The context the word was used does not signify the corrupt meaning pained minds like you decode .
Politics › Re: Nigerians React To Martin Onovo's Interview On Channels Today - Video by chinchum(m): 6:28pm On Jan 27, 2016
If i hadn't seen the video, i would have thought the Onovo nigga said something quite logical, he has his way with oratory and smooth face that can easily deceive the superficial and unsuspecting. The only time he came close to making sense was when he talked about reduction in numbers of ministries and still increased in recurrent expenditure, but it still failed in logics. Will cases like plan of the ministry of education to recruit 500,000 teachers not shoot up recurrent expenditure?, even plan to build 10,000 primary health centres will hit recurrent expenditure , as it is not lizards and rats that will run those centres. My point in essence is that a cut in the number of ministries does not necessarily translate to reduction in recurrent expenditure.

I agree that the 2016 budget draft has some loopholes, it is called a draft because it is expected the national assembly has a work to do on it, and if they do their job well, there would be improvement on it. More importantly, FULL implementation of the budget is key.

This is quite a daft thing to say. What is media trial?

Should efcc ask the courts to bar journalists from reporting news of the trial so that it wont be "media trial" ?

Is the mans trial not ongoing? Why art thou fail to use common sense? Is it that you dont have common sense?.

In actual fact, i will want live reporting of the trial on national tv., that is my own definition of "media trial".

In the long run, the local manufacturing base will expand, creating more jobs. Nigeria must learn to accept delayed gratification. When all we want everynow and then is instant gratification, leaders like fayose will arise with stomach infrastructure and there wont be sustainable growth. Ban on certain goods importation will initially come with certain pain for a while, but it will stimulate local production to growh.
Politics › Re: I Can Bring Buhari’s Government Down — Fayose by chinchum(m): 4:54pm On Jan 24, 2016
It is comical that fayose can call someone out as a dictator, fayose is a case study of a dictator, you can imagine an opposition governor talking in treasonable mode like the sitting president will fail, and saying he can bring his government down bla bla......., even after posting death wishes to the same man. Should Buhari respond in equal measure, he will be no where to be found. Fayose under gej regime was using 5 state legislators from PDP to harass 21 APC state legislators , sponsoring fully armed thugs to chase out APC legislators from the state with the aid of the centre police.
One must have selective amnesia , too blinded with party loyalty, or iredeemably daft to take his rantings seriously. Wonders shall never end.

Too bad, going by the word of the fellow who observed the situation at the ceos garage, there was no ivm brand vehicle there, the ivm twitter handle appears to be applying damage control b y stating the CEO actually has one amidst other foreign brands. The CEO goofed, he is the face of his brand, and for now must discard other brands, most especially when his own brand is still upcoming and very localised. Of a truth, brands do check up other brands and check for comparative strengths and weaknesses, but never in the open. I doubt if the innosson brand even have a functional website. The CEO must be a sucker for his brand., by sleeping, eating, drinking and driving innoson only, he has got to fake it till he makes it. He should leave the job of testing other brands to his R&d engineers, if he has got one.

Kikero112:
Thanks to the fact that until 2014.....we had sustained high oil prices....and were budgeting at a lower benchmark.

The problem was that we did not save the surplus.

If oil prices had crashed during GEJ's regime...say 2012....we would have had deficits.

And GEJ still borowed , inspite of that. Not exactly good economic practice.

Considering the fact that oil prices are at a six year low of $28 ...something which GEJ never had to contend with....the fact remains that we are an oil dependent economy, and when prices crash....we have to borrow to keep the books balanced. And while buhari should hurry up and diversify.....diversification takes a long time. GEJ's agric minister was a godsend(and his nomination to the big continental job was backed by both PDP and APC )....BUT he was only able to get us to no5 in cocoa production.....and nowhere in ground-nuts, cotton and palm oil.(Palm oil where we used to be no 1).

In other words.....the borrowing is not because of bad economic practice....it is because our hands were forced by the low oil price....and by PDP's failure.....and here I also bash OBJ and Yaradua....for not diversifying our economy when we had high oil price.(In other words....they repeated the mistakes of 1970's).Another reason is GEJ's failure to save (thanks partly to the governors....most of whom were from his party anyways)...but even if GEJ had saved ......he would have delayed the problem we face now till 2017.
Crude Oil price at 28usd/barrel is not at 6 year low, it is actually at 13 year low, year 2003 to be precise, somedays ago it was at 26usd actually. The differential of imports value and the export value is widening putting a strain on the Nations Naira. cbn governor is managing the situation, IMO, Emefiele's only sin is changing his cbn policies like a flash light in a short space of time, causing speculators to have a field day with the price of naira to a usd at the back market.

For those canvassing for devaluation of naira to from the current 197 to 230, i can bet the price at the parallel market will also slide from 300 to range of 330 at such news.

Politics › Re: Plunging Naira – Before You Blame Emefiele Look At Yourself by chinchum(m): 8:45pm On Jan 22, 2016
Many Nigerians are full of brawn than brain. The reason why the naira is plunging is not really about emefiele, although he cant be completely exonerated, his series of policy summersaults within a short time is further making things worse.

Naira will be further declining as long as we dont have any other major foreign exchange earner that is appreciable like crude oil, It is a war of imports value vx exports value, if the exports value wins, Naira appreciates, if the reverse happens, Naira plunges ,as long as prices of crude oil drops, not forgetting we export crude oil, our naira will fall, the midterm solution is if our imports also drops drastically. Can we start producing other things to be exported to earn oreign exchange to the country huhhuh

Politics › Re: Economy Downturn: Redeploy Adeosun From Finance Ministry , Group Tells Buhari by chinchum(m): 6:30am On Jan 20, 2016
Adeosun was announced Minister of finance on November 11, 2015, i.e 70 days ago, or better still 2 months and 9 days.

One has to be sick in the head or dangerously ethnically bigoted to be canvassing for her removal in the midst of an economic downturn of a mono economy like Nigeria. One funny but surprising development is that there is little or no call for removal of CBN governor, Emefiele Godwin, Some of these moronss have even asked Adeosun to be replaced by the current investment and trade minister, an ibo man . By the way, can someone remind me what contributions the trade/investment minister has made in 2 months and 9 days . I know vividly last month Adeosun introduced an efficiency office in all ministries last month to save costs /reduce leakages.

Nigeria is in a storm at the moment , we wont stop the storm now, but we can weather it. The 2016 budget did not utilise zero budgeting as earlier canvassed by the Vice president , possibly because it was going to be very time consuming, but i appreciate it didnt go the austerity way, it would have made 2016 worse for Nigerians.

ejiinii:
Let be objective in our minds and not subjective, there are military procedures for deal with erring officers not civilian court. IS DASUKIGATE REAL?? Well much as I believe that any person who participated in the pillaging of this country should be punished severely, however let's take time to do this little math on the much hyped Dasukigate. Now from the government sources, a total of $2.1 billion was alleged to have been stolen through Dasuki.

This translated to about N450 billion at the material time. From government sources now and from the figures available, if you do a total summation of the whole amount of money Dasuki was said or alleged to have "shared", it is in the neighbourhood of N10 billion or less than that. Now the amount said to have been recovered from that is so far less than N1 billion.

This is against about N450 billion ($2.1 billion) said to have been allocated to Dasuki for the war against boko haram. So we are still left with a balance of over N400 billion. What about the huge left over, if it exists? ? Now was this N450 billion ($2.1) said to have been given to Dasuki contained in a single budget?

How much was the Jonathan budget for the period in question and how much was the defence budget? Meanwhile has anybody ever heard from the man Dasuki himself? I think it is now easy to see why the government does not want to charge him to court or is so reluctant to do so. Interestingly, some of those people who were involved said Dasuki never gave them any money. It is so unfortunate that all that this government has to show for this much hyped war against corruption so far is just the less than N1 billion so far said to have been recovered from the alleged Dasuki accomplices

.Now can you remember how much Obasanjo' s government (as corrupt as it was) recovered from the Abacha loot as well as even former governors like Chimaroke Nnamani et al? This is why i had earlier described the so called Dasukigate as a storm in the tea-cup
So you were blind as not to see Okonjo iweala letter authorising transfer of funds to Dasuki huhhuh

Your own objectivity has its head turned upside down.

One thing a hate about this government is that the forgot about the country welfare totally only focusing on corruption. What a common man need is his welfare. Buhari shouldn't focus on corruption alone and forget that everything is turning to worse in this county.
your reasoning is faulty, Buhari is not EFCC chairman. He has appointed efcc chairman and ICPC heads who have been empowered to do their jobs, in the course of doing their jobs which is to fight corruption, they are not fighting the economy. are they??

If the economy is turning to worse in your statement, we have the president, ministers also, and relevant heads of economic agencies,. Dont muddle up things by picking up shallow narratives you heard someone saying , or read up some where like " government forgot about the country welfare totally only focusing on corruption"

Always challenge your reasoning, that is the birth of common sense.

I have followed with keen interest all Mr President's ministerial appointees but the one that is so important but unfortunately seems to have less understanding of the system is Mrs. Kemi Adeosun.

Watching her grant press interviews both local and foreign shows she doesn't have the grasps, and won't be able to adequately formulate and manage Nigeria's Fiscal Policies to stimulate economic growth thereby create employment for the teeming unemployed youths. Not that she's isn't intelligent but the truth must be told.

Many investors both home and abroad are also skeptical of making new investment and putting their money in Nigeria. This could be because of lack of fiscal policy framework of the government of which Mrs Adeosun Finance Ministry is supposed to oversee.

All indices about Nigeria's economy point to the negative but each time she's ask a question about it, she doesn't seem to give a clear direction.

Trade and Industry Minister or any other Minister who can do the job well should take her place
