Ariza: Not only Men but Women too. I remember when I was in the Uni, 100 level. A lady was raped and everyone got to know, I particularly received the message at home from A guy. Getting to school the following week I felt pity for the Lady. All her friends deserted her, she used to walk in group with other ladies but after the incident she walked alone, she wasn't free . Sometimes I avoid looking at her so as not to agitate her. Now, who were her friends? Who spread the news? FEMALES.
The society really is a sick one, a society that doesn't recognize rape as crime because if it doesn't rape victims will be treated like kidnapped victims. Both Women and Men can do better seriously. This stigma is what men take advantage of when they rape females They know the victims will be too ashamed to openly say they were violated Law enforcement sef is not helping matters. Nigerian police will not take rape investigations serious unless big money is involved or unless it's a high profile case. Look at how they were asking Uwa father if she is the only girl that has ever gotten raped. |

A large population of men are rapists and rape apologists. that's the fact Many guys have committed rape before but because of shame of being seen as a rape victim, the victims keep quiet. Many, very many. Women discuss these things among themselves. |

Ariza: There is a possibility his room isn't his only avenue for such act. And the JoJo lady might have been lucky or not really relaxed in the room as at that time. We can only guess, No one dey there.
I agree with your last paragraph, my own with him is, what took him so long to voice out? Stigma Many men view rape victims as tainted or used, also, victim blaming. Men love blaming rape victims for wearing showy clothes or moving at night, being too friendly etc. None of those things justify rape by the way |

dasparrow: Nigeria is a country filled with rapists and pedophiles. Keep that in mind if you have a vagina and choose to make Nigeria your country of residence, good luck! The same way the United States is unsafe for Black people is the same way Nigeria is unsafe for females. Remember that. Going through this thread makes me scared of raising a daughter in Nigeria Many Nigerian men are just rapists and rape apologists I mean look at the overwhelming evidence against the yangy idiot on this thread but all Nairaland guys can say is; They are lying Stop false accusations I hate Nigerian women The girls claiming rape are pained exes Many Nigerian men are criminal pieces of shit_ |

ibkayee: Family is a broad topic and can range from people sharing DNA, to adoption, to a unit of close friends etc. You people should broaden outlook, the world is too big a place and has too many different people to think so narrowly Narrow thinking that has kept Africa backwards for ages but some people stick to it because it favours them |

Mynd44: The OP is pushing her religious shaped beliefs on people. It creates issues. Allow people have their choices. Having a family isn't compulsory and not a precursor to happiness This is what many people on this thread came to tell her but she kept denying it. I am glad you see it too |

tunmiluabi: I do not believe in submission I believe in mutual respect and trust. Where those do not exist, the relationship is dead. There should not be any competition in a home talk less of submission or apportioning roles. Wow, this is nice coming from a man |

Ybaby: It only said a man who does not provide for his family's needs. If you providing shelter, clothing, food and your children school fees then you are not an infidel but if you are not providing these 4 things you are worse than an infidel .... na so Bible talk Lmao Men love to ignore that verse of the bible. Their favorite verse is the one telling women to submit. They also ignore the verse that talks about mutual submission in christianity. |

Please terminate it, why is the question even being asked? What quality of life is the child coming to live? A life of being referred to as product of rape?
Then place her on pre exposure prophylaxis (PEP) to prevent HIV
Run other std tests and keep evidence to report to police later. |
