Aphrodite007:I ended my response by saying that it is a matter of choice... This is a technicality issue not a direct lie; in the same way as tax evasion is not the same way tax avoidance... No recourse to public funds or assistance is almost declaring the person as not the same as other citizens - it is their choice to use such language. |
No one here works for UKVI or Home Office so no one can be certain to answer whether you can apply for visit visa or not? Sadly, the UK government will still take your application and money and then decide one way or the other. We are still in a Pandemic and it is essential travel only for now. They are even advising Brits not to make concrete plans for holidays abroad yet... So what do you think about visiting in April which is in the spring and just 2 months away? |
5gee:Sorry, I repeated your point about the discount for single occupancy... All good? Too much hearsay though - people that live in the UK or have lived here for a long time should know some of the questions they are asking here... A quick internet search or going to the .gov website answers some of these questions - perhaps people need some induction how to conduct browser searches on the internet? |
LagosismyHome:There are other ways of proving a couple live together... Bills are important as a means of ID and part what is required for FLR and ILR application etc. Now, the issue of having joint names on the council tax bill. It is a choice really - sometimes, it is hard add multiple names to the bill itself but declaring all those that live in the property is another. Usually, a dependant spouse or those on spousal visa have no recourse to public funds, in essence they get nothing from the government and the host/sponsor loses his or her 25% single occupancy rebate. Choices! |
Ibm08:I don't know precisely but the cost of Covid tests is within #40,000 to about #55000 or more... I got that info from Nigeria travel portal when you select a covid test centre but that was going to Nigeria... Just call them up - telephone numbers on NITP NCDC website and below https://covid19.ncdc.gov.ng/laboratory/
|
SamReinvented:It appears that UCH does not do fit to travel.covid tests: I had someone enquire middle of January and another person also confirmed that Medicaid around Ring road, Ibadan is the only NVDC approved or accredited covid test centre for travelling... We used Medicaid and they delivered after 48 hours (around 6pm just before our flight at 11.45pm). It was nerve wracking waiting for the result despite being promised 48 hours and paying them a tip before hand. This is Nja! Another thing is that the UK wants your test done within 72 hours before departure... So, be careful not to do it too early or look at 3 days - your flight is at night and simply looking at 3 days will make the test done in the morning over 72 hours. 54gene seems to work for folks but the key is to do the test in either Lagos or Abuja because the samples are sent to the labs there for analysis. * Lastly, things might have changed with UCH and they can do a fit to fly travel Covid test with result in 24 hours. Also, the testing in Nigeria over all might have improved that results come out in 24 or 48 hours? Who knows? |
tushqueen:Are you in Nigeria? If so, why do you want to do a covid test in UK? By the way, there are very many places to privately do covid tests in the UK. Google is your friend? Boots the chemist does as well as other major chemists or drug stores. There are test centres as well as self administered test kits used... The package is sent by post for analysis. It is not like Nigeria, most test centres will be approved and there is no big issue about accredited by the government. Google and read the reviews. I also had to Google to find these things when I had someone going to Nigeria. Most UK people will not know or need to know covid test centres unless travelling... As for travel Covid tests - fit to fly. I know someone that used Collision at the Airport recently. Collison are at the major airports - Manchester, Heathrow, Gatwick etc. And it cost £99 (100pounds). Result in less than 24 hours. Test prices range from 99-150 or more. |
vannie21:Ok. Given! |
Absolutely everyone has to pay for 2 covid tests - even British people; as long as you are coming in from abroad, you pay, and pay upfront. Travel Covid test has always been a piad-for service. The NHS test is for people - (everyone) with covid symptoms or of they are doing it for everyone like in Liverpool recently. IHS has nothing to do with travel Covid tests. Nja imposed such a fee when UK did not even require any test at all... But their is just now times 2 and hotel quarantine for red list countries. Last last, the more people from Nja provide fake covid tests or try to game the system like jumping on the bus or train from Heathrow or Gatwick to go immediately to Scotland, lying on locator form and not observing isolation; Nigeria will be added to the red list. People, be warned! |
Regardless of the mistake; applying for tourism is somehow somehow these days... Did you say that your monthly expenses is #40000 for a family... I am sorry, I don't get that! It has s not plausible and wanting to take a family on tourism is another issue... They rushed your application because I suspect most tourism visa application currently will most likely be refused unless they know you are a Dubai crew - ready to spend big bucks in the UK and with solid ties and money in Nigeria. Oh well! |
demmysoft:True! You need to prepare very well... The answer to Phishing Have you never heard of it? They certainly FISHED you! Pity! |
Kcivskod:Sorry! But you got the denial of service wrong? It was an easy question even for non IT people. Strong firewall, yes but they wanted more... |
Phenmeson:That was your post above, it was specific about avoiding the Scottish hotel quarantine by jumping on the bus or train... * A traveller above had done the right thing by declaring to stay in Essex England for 10 days plus 7 before proceeding to Scotland. Don't try to wriggle out of your Sabi clever attitude... People should just be very careful not to listen to folks like you... *Students being deported for not following rules as we comment here - it is not worth it! |
Phenmeson:Where in my post does it state that travelling to Scotland by train or bus being a problem. The sentiment of the post was that Scottish hotel quarantine can be circumvented by simply landing in England and jumping straight unto other means of transport enroute Scotland... It was obvious! * Not every student knows people in England or folks they can stay with for 10 days. ** Trying to be too clever, are we? |
Phenmeson:So on your Locator form, you will be staying in Scotland but you want to land in England to prevent the Scottish Mandatory Hotel Quarantine ![]() Your self isolation will be taking place in Scotland, so it needs to be in a mandatory hotel. You think the Scottish government will not be aware of people trying to circumvent the rules? It is not that smart... It is like travelling from Portugal to Spain and then to the UK to try to avoid compulsory quarantine - it ask you for the country you have been in the last 10days. As a student, you might not easily get away with it unlike an ordinary visitor. * If you land in England and stay for 10 days before going to Scotland, that is different. You lie on your locator form, you might be in serious trouble... Be warned! |
Phenmeson:But be very careful because it will mean you are lying on your Locator Form... Hmmm! Fine of up to £10,000 or up to 10 years in Prison. But it is just too much money for a student to pay - what to do? |
Nollywood personality - great example! I dont know why they find it so easy to go the USA - money talks and most of them have backers in high places |
Sego12345:And you said you are not advocating for people to make fraudulent Visa application's? Yet, some people close to you have been banned from the UK but allowed in other embassies. What was their infractions to be banned? Furthermore, did they use the same passport and declare fully visa refusals in their other applications? |
Logic dictates that most Western countries especially allies like UK, us and Ireland share intelligence... They might not say directly that immigration transgressions in other embassies is the reason for refusal but for tourism visas, they will deeply scrutinise and find any reason or excuse to deny entry. The outcomes might be slightly different for Visit, Business, Work, Student or Spousal Visas but they will have to be seriously convinced that the person or s a genuine visitor... It is at their discretion and it is not always subject to review or appeal. After watching the Serpent series on BBC, you can just imagine... Na by force to go for tourism in those countries? |
On another thread, a poster wanted to find out an alternative Accredited Covid Test Centre for Ibadan based on the review he had read about the only one approved for Ibadan (Medicaid) The thing is that he only read one single review from a person who claimed he did not get back his result sometime in December 2020; despite repeated emails and calls... However, this was a mandatory covid test for travellers to Nja and by that time, test centres were perhaps more concerned about reporting back to the government if there was a test or not or if the person is positive... The test centres are not perfect but that is a Nigerian thing, however, it does not mean Medicaid is not good! He eventually went there for his test when he could have gone to Lagos if he was so concerned. Some people like to jump to conclusions too quickly! |
For someone to said something categorical, it should stand some sort of rest and reasoning... You cannot be punished for an offence in another embassy on the basis of knowing one case does not fulfil that test (not empirical) and defies logic. A criminal offence can bar you in many embassies... And we are talking about close allies here. To produce a fraudulent document is an offence and a breach of trust that will be investigated by the Irish or USA immigration/embassies... So just because this person who we do not know the full reason for her ban and she wangled her way to a USA visa, can now deduce that there is no case of double jeopardy? NO! What sort of watertight ties does this woman have with the USA? Anyways, applying to go to Ireland so soon after a ban shows desperation that should warrant a denial; what does the person really want abroad so much? And why UK or Ireland? |
Pristinegold:Good! If you can show a history of your account with statements dating back maybe 2 years and every one of the statement rally in terms of opening balances and closing balances then you have a good case... Folks should avoid using Agents? You do not need one - unless, things are not straightforward, then it should be an immigration lawyer not an agent. GTB is supposed to be one of those new age banks, so your statements should be with them for even 5 years back... Good luck! |
Pristine, you opened your account in 2016? So, go and get all your bank statements from as far back as you can go and then the present day... If you can show that, then, you have a quick way of proving yourself. |
Michael820:I hope you settled them a bit because I think the analysis of the samples are done in Abuja... Your result will likely be ready on Saturday - will they be there on Saturday? And did you get a guarantee that the result should be ready by Friday or Saturday afternoon? Are you travelling to the UK? I did say that your test should be 72 hours pre-departure? Have they told you it can be 96 hours before departure? I hope you know what you are doing? |
Michael820:What was the review exactly? Was it online or in a forum or word of mouth? I am not sure you have another accredited test centres in Ibadan apart from UCH... Whether they do a fit to travel or PCR or could deliver result in 48 hours - I don't know? Let the Forum know how you got on, so others can learn |
Also, there is far more overlaps these days between the main UK threads: there is general visa, students/tiered, spousal visas and living in the UK as an immigrant. It is inevitable but people should try harder to post in more relevant threads... Who is going to a certain university is not really that relevant to living in the UK... Who is at certain university is more relevant... Yes? |
I don't know why mention seniority when some of the people that ask questions actually copy certain names - implying they think those people's opinion carry more gravitas. Regardless of the above, you mentioned students living in the UK asking questions... You must seed the point entirely, there are those still in Nigeria asking very basic questions that can be easily researched in many other ways... One person asking 10 questions like some sort of exam questions and many of the questions bare very specific and some not so urgent for someone still in Nigeria. Someone already got a place to study a particular course but asking about job opportunities in that course; the person is already coming to UK to study that course. Will it be not easier to get on the course and then ask questions then; while in the UK and with people doing the course or lecturer and more. Many of the questions are answered or swerved but a certain amount of reality has to be injected into the forum or it will soon become questions band questions and many will go unanswered resulting in frustration for some people with more urgent or easily answered questions... |
JovialJune:Very strange comment! Yes, the man might be foolish but are you implying the woman (married) wants to catch STD or get pregnant? The onus is actually on the woman because she has a lot more to lose being married and all that. Why make such a comment? |
Using fake covid test is not worth the risk. You spend so much money to get to the point of needing a Covid test, why spoil things and waste even more money or have your VISA cancelled? One should use the NITP recommended government the at centres - they can be found on the Travel Portal. Also, make sure the test centre can deliver your test in 48 hours if the recommended pre-departure is 72 hours. |
I should also add a serious note or warning about the Covid Test in Nigeria... Most of the test centres want to give you the result in 72 hours... Some of the test centres send their samples for analysis in Lagos or Abuja... You should make sure you find a laboratory that can give you the test result in 48 hours. Any more than that will lead to stress because it will be on your day of travel and past working hours. So, if can choose a test centre in Lagos that can deliver 24 to 48 hours, great. Also be ready to give some tips/bribe to make sure you get your result because you will not board the plane without a negative covid test to show. |
a4money:I presume you are coming to the UK, if so; it should be 72 hours before departure. So you want to do the test on the 4th of Feb in the morning... If your test result comes out in 48 hours on the 6th of February; by the time you travel, it will be close to 60+ hours before departure... |
Have you never heard of it? They certainly FISHED you! Pity!
